Released in 1987, Sign O’ The Times came at a pivotal moment in Prince's career, following the dissolution of his band, The Revolution, and several ambitious, unrealised projects. Despite the turbulence, Prince created a record that effortlessly spans genres — blending funk, rock, R&B, pop, and experimental sounds — while addressing personal, political, and spiritual themes with a fearless honesty.
