People out here in these streets, man, they out here complaining about the snow. They was like, I'm seeing posts like they calling the days of spring. I'm like, dude. Hey, man. Hey, I got a story for you, too. This one, this is it's funny, but it's not funny. Yeah, okay, okay, okay. They really haven't cleaned our streets. Our streets still got snow. So, you know, so now when it when you wait that long, so you got layers, you got like the ice, you got a little uh heavy snow, then you got light. Yeah, and my wife's been needing a new tire, man. She got a donut, she got a donut on that boy, bro. And uh I've been like like telling her, because she's been having some days off, like you need to uh go and get that tire replaced, man. It's gonna that's it, we go. She just been procrastinating, procrastinating. So the other day I was home. And usually when she she what she does when she gets home, she likes to just sit in the car, just you know, just sit to get spend that time out there compressing, yeah. Yeah, for sure. And so while she's doing that, the dogs are just parking, right, right, right, right, just excited and all that.

So this happened the other day, I can't remember Thursday or Friday, Thursday, it had to be Thursday. And um, the barking and stuff, um, you know, because that's one of the things I was like, man, why don't you just come in the house, man? So I gotta stop hearing these dogs barking, man. Right, right. You know, so but I got wishy doing it though, but I'll just be teasing her. And um so they was barking and barking and barking. I'm like, man, what is like, man, why she coming to the house? So she comes in the house, man, she just upset. I was like, what's up? She said, Tomorrow, you're gonna you're gonna shovel that snow. And I'm like, I have shoveled the snow. Yeah, I said, uh, she said, I was out there shoveling snow, I got stuck in the snow. Oh and cars had to turn around and turn back around and go the other way. I was like, what she said, you didn't hear the dogs bark? I'm like, they always bark when you come home. So I was like, I didn't know you were stuck in the driveway.

Owning Past Emotion And Idols

But I I I was it was cool. I was listening to while I was juicing. But but I'm glad you said what you said about us doing stuff in real time. So because one of the things that we did talk about in episode that we didn't get the chance to publish is that um the episode, our last uh published episode, we were emotional, very emotional, you know. Yeah, talking about what's the and the sterring the the current state of this uh country and all that. So I have to apologize. I was in my fields, and so we don't want to meet, you know. Um you know, it's you know, if you are listening to this show, you know I I can't stand bullies, I can't stand and so right now it's a lot of crap going on. So I I definitely let it go, but then we got off air and and then the during the week the Holy Spirit dealt with us. Yeah, and so um we gotta remember, you know, don't let your political party rule you, don't let that be an idol, don't let your skin be an idol. Don't let your family be an idol. I mean, it's a lot of stuff that you can make idol.

Yeah, so I just want to just talk about that. I just want to just bring that up because definitely, because I was listening to it. I was like, oh my god, I was yelling.

Yeah, and I was out too, man, because we because we have conversations off air. So like we're friends in real life. So we're talking about this stuff. Passion start running high. Or I like I told you, I had, I got uh, you know, uh uh some some guys, man, you know, brothers in in the Lord, man, that I got a you know, a little group with, you know, called the Kingdom Roundtable, and we got, you know, hook up on Voxer, you know, where we do that that uh conversation there and we talk, man. And I went in there, bro, and I was just I was ill and I'm the only, you know, brother in there. I'm the only, oh, when I'm say brother, I mean black guy, in in the group. And um, yeah, I went in there from that perspective. I went in there from, you know, just my like you said, in my fields, man, and too so much to the to the point where one of the brothers stepped back and was like, man, I'm I'm gonna need to take a week off, bro, you know, from from communicating here. And and it was a direct result of how I just came in, man, and coming in with my political perspectives and you know, and and just in my feels, bro, in my feelings. And uh some people just man don't know how to or I ain't gonna say no how. It's a lot of stuff going on. Everybody's dealing with something, and you just don't have the bandwidth for that other stuff. You're like, okay, man, I I'm trying to get through some stuff my own stuff, man. I really don't got time for this. So, you know, and and I had to go in there and humble myself and apologize to them too, man. So, yeah, so definitely apologize to to the people of God for uh being, you know, extra emotional and not articulating it in the best way. So, you know, we ain't gonna deny that, man, we we are all living, feeling, uh emotional uh creatures, man. And we're gonna, and everything hits us all a different, you know, different way at different times. So, but we do have to remain, you know, disciplined. We do have to be humble still. We still gotta remember that we're representatives of of the kingdom, man. So, you know, and our fathers. So we we gotta do that.

So yeah, uh man, but this it can be frustrating because right um right now it's a it's a it's a huge need for empathy, and but then it's not, you know, and I uh wife and I was talking like why do certain people have to experience something for them to understand what people have been saying, you know, or what they mean, and you know, because it's a lack of empathy. And I was you know, I was giving examples like I'm not I've never been raped before, but I have total empathy for empathy, raping, you know, a lot of stuff, you know, and just I put myself in those shoes, but you know, a lot of people they don't know how to do that. But I just you know, but by being God's people, you're in the business of people, even though y'all don't like them all the time, but you still absolutely be in there, stand in the gap for them. Right, right. And right now I I don't see that happening, but I'm not gonna get back into it. No, yeah, no, for sure. But yeah, I don't I don't see that happening. Absolutely. I see, you know, other groups is like, you know, this is not my fight, and so but uh there are certain people that's like regardless of the fight or if this their fight or not, they're gonna be in there, they're gonna stand in the gap, which is what is is is what we're called to do, man.

Salt, Light, And Representing The Kingdom

We are, you know, we're we're supposed to be that that that bridge, that light, you know, that salt. And uh Jesus was clear. He said, look, man, if the light ain't shining, if the salt ain't flavoring, then what's the point? He's like, you know, it's useless. And and you're gonna be trotten underfoot of men. So and we tend, when we're not operating in who we are, we tend to get rolled over, man. We we really do. We kind of get, you know, we we become ineffective. People say, you know, like that's what's wrong with people in, you know, in the church, and this and that, because we're not representing uh, you know, in the quality fashion that Jesus told us to. In fact, at the end of Matthew 5, man, Jesus is he's talking about the Father shining his light, you know, on the just and the unjust, and you know, giving rain, you know, to the just and he's talking about his blessings, man, and who he is being the same to the just people and unjust people, you know. So he's like, be perfect, you know, even as your father in heaven is perfect. Meaning we're supposed to be the same way. And uh, but you know, we're we're processing our way through this journey. We don't always navigate it as best as we should, and and we emote, and because me and you have a podcast, and and we got a commitment to keeping it real with each other and and how the kingdom, you know, operates. I guess drama in the kingdom too, man. And we was emotional. But so that so the Holy Spirit didn't wasn't condemning about us showing emotion. He said, but at the same time, now that you did it, it was it's recorded, don't edit it, don't take it out. It happened, it was real. Now, but go now and humble yourself and you know, and and own that, as you said, you know, owning the stuff and uh and then being humble. One thing I love about the what makes the like and you always say this, and I got that this from you. You always say the um the Bible can't be a book written by men. Because if it was, you cover it up. You wouldn't men would not expose their weaknesses, bro. If we if we writing a book, we gonna make ourselves shine, bro, every time. The scripture don't ever cover up the weaknesses, man. Ever. You know what I mean? So you know, it we're living epistles, as Paul says. We're we're people reading us, man, and in real time. And we have emotional moments, man, and we ain't always got it together. But you you gotta be able to come back and you know, and ask for forgiveness or or humble yourself.

about it be convicted yes condemned no yeah uh what we want to talk about today is mission assignment and um purpose but before we get there I want to ask you do you know uh the influencer Drewski yeah did you see did you see what Drewski he uh he did a skit uh church skit you see for sure absolutely who has it right at this point okay right right and did have you did you see who they compared him to uh when they was talking about past the time yeah right so yeah yeah I saw that and you know that's my guy right so yes indeed yes indeed a transformation church yeah man what so yeah uh transformation nation what up though uh so uh I started to get in my fields man but you know but then I know my guy I know he's been attacked his whole career oh man absolutely and uh and so Holy Spirit's like man he can handle this man because I was about to like man that's not a guy like he was about to go and rap for him yeah because uh you know I'm talking about you know he's a greedy he's definitely one thing he's not is a greedy pastor not at all not at all they give millions to millions of dollars away to families to churches causes so I Holy Spirit reminded me that's why I sat back and so uh this uh his service the the service the service before last he addressed it and he talked about he was like he's like I I've been off social media so he's like I was getting hit up like did you see this do you see this and he's like and he said oh he said I I laugh but he's like man but you know he said but I'm not gonna lie he said right now he's like we writing 21 day of fasting he said this is a distraction he's like I ain't I ain't thinking about that man like you know he's like but then he's he started going into what he you know what he not accomplished but what they do he's like we don't I don't take money it's like you know like man to this day we recorded we've given such 36 million the churches and blah blah blah sure he said but I'm not gonna allow this to distract me so but but it validated me and I was glad that the Holy Spirit like chill out man yeah he got this he can handle it yeah and he is man I mean and and and just so people know you know somebody he shouldn't be you know why you gotta tell people how much you give away man it's just and this just came up in my spirit when you said it man look Paul said the same thing he was like look y'all are forcing me you know to to speak like this you know in my so in my folly I'm gonna tell you this I you know I'm more of an apostle than all of the other ones you know and this you know I mean he he had to give his own resume because people wasn't doing it for him you know what I mean it was like he was like man you we shouldn't have to commend ourselves he's like you should be doing that for us because y'all know the deal y'all know we not like that you know what I mean and Paul's like I didn't even take money from y'all you know and stuff like that so you know it's like people like well you ain't gotta tell it you know but I I you do if ain't nobody else gonna do it just so y'all can know I'm not in this for for that you know what I mean so if I was just about the money look look at how much I've given away you know if it was just about the money how to I've given away more money than I have personally most people don't do that bro you know most people that is not people give out of their abundance most people don't give if you if you give 36 million in this world more than likely you probably got hundreds of millions you know you don't give more than what you your own net worth man and right yeah so I yeah man I I big ups to to Pastor Todd man in Transformation Church and Transformation Nation man it ain't easy doing what they do bro and also uh I'd be we would be remiss that he about to drop the movie man uh relations what movie uh the relationship was it relationship goals oh man for real i didn't i did not know that man prime prime video boy prime got it yep that's what's up man blessed yeah no man just i love that man i love that so if you haven't read the book get the i would say relationship goals make sure you get that book it was excellent um so yeah so i think kelly rolling is gonna be in it's a few people on there but it's gonna be on it's gonna be on prime video i think it's coming out it might be valentine's day man really man yeah what's that good purpose yeah man map map as you call it map the map yes sir yes sir you know um yeah so i i'm uh you know uh when we recorded i asked you what was your mission assignment and purpose what was jesus and then could you tell me mine yeah you and like i said you put the heavy you drop the heavy man because then that's that's that's real real talk right there but um man so the mission uh mission assignment purpose the map uh something holy spirit gave me man some years ago uh he you know he just talked to me with uh in acronyms and alliterations just for memory's uh sake to be able to lock things in so um so when he when he taught me that man and told me that one of the things that he said to me he's like man i i've given you a message that's gonna change the traject trajectory of generations so dude you know when he said it to me I didn't even know what what trajectory meant bro you know so I'm like trajectory so um yeah and I kind of you know started kind of looking into that and and that's been really uh a driving force in in a lot of things that I've done you know because knowing that and and to give a little context man is when uh Holy Spirit you know really got a hold of my life dude when I actually gave my life to Christ you know he said man if he said if I show you things you didn't know will you change your mind? I'm like of course you know absolutely you know what what do I know and compare to the you know overall scheme of things so that's kind of been something that he's kept me in alignment with man the whole time because when I start going off and thinking my head like member you told you said that if I showed it to you you would change your mind and changing your mind people of God is not the easiest thing to do. When you think you know something it's hard to change it. And um so that's been the process man for you know since 1999 you know up until today you know that's been happening so that's been the mission is is that what your mission is what you were sent to do. We're all sent you know here. So when you know that and you got a sense of your mission then you of what you're here to do then the next thing to do is is come to know your assignment you know the assignment is is where you're supposed to do it or to whom you know the people the group of people and that can change you know throughout you know your life so your mission will remain the same but your assignment can change you know multiple times and so your assignment when you know always know it's where you are it's it doesn't start when you get to this place or do that. It's where you are right now. And you can and whether that's at a large level before people are ever known you know publicly and everything you you have to already should for the most part already know your mission and already operating in it uh in in where you are so if that's just among your family your friends that should be happening right then before you go to a bigger population and then so knowing that where you're assigned to or whom you know in the group the people group there and your purpose man is the is the result is the is the why you know what's the what is the purpose of God sending you into that situation because it's for an outcome it's for uh a result and so when you break it all down man your mission assignment and purpose is your your what where and why and um so that's my so my assign my mission is to uh change you know with what the Holy Spirit gave me to change the trajectory of generations in the direction that we're going to shift it to a different direction and uh the assignment's right where I am you know it's right with what we're doing like right now man we're we're podcasting you know this is part of the platform you know on social media stuff like you know right there and um and of course in my house you know among my family friends and the purpose is for it to ultimately man to connect and fulfill you know the will of God in this moment in this time that we're here it's like the scripture says David served his generation and so when you swing that pendulum to Jesus well Jesus constantly said well this is the the the one of the most famous uh scriptures for God so loved the world John 316 that he gave his only begotten son you know that who believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life Jesus was sent you know he was given by the Father and um to us in the world he's king he's savior so he came to save us he came to deliver us um he said Isaiah 9 you know you know that when he comes the government would be upon his shoulders you know so unto us a child is born unto us a son is given you know and the government the kingdom the empire will be upon his shoulders and the increase of his kingdom and his peace there should be no end Jesus said when I when in Luke 4 when he was like you know I came to preach the gospel the good news of the kingdom this is the reason that I'm sent you know so he knows his mission for the spirit of the Lord is upon me in Luke 4 for he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor and you know recover no sightism so he knows exactly what he's here to do. But before he was known publicly Jesus had a three and a half year public ministry but man he was here for 33 and a half years. So 30 years we did not know much about Jesus but he was fulfilling that mission as it was being revealed to him all along you know where he was learning it he was growing in it. It said he grew in grace and in stature and the wisdom you know and grace with God and man. So this happens from is it doesn't it's not a time when it kicks in it it's always on from the time you get here. And um so Jesus we know that man him dying on the cross was the means to an end even though he was sent to do that also but look at how his assignment just kept evolving it kept going from it was going from city to city it was going he said I'm sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel but then he also said but I do have sheep of another pasture who I got to get them too so he dealt with his assignment as it was happening. You just got to make sure you keep aligning with that and um all through your life and then for the purpose to ultimately to redeem the world reconcile the world to God so we see it clear. You know Paul talks about I was separated unto God from my mother's womb you know this was always here but then his he was in his mission of of teaching people his whole life he said I was a Pharisee of Pharisees and this and that he did this is what he did. But he said in the fullness of time when Christ revealed himself to me he called me out to do this. He didn't stop teaching and preaching he just his message shift shifted now and uh and the purpose was to bring the gospel the kingdom to the gentile nations but he tried to do he tried to do it with the Jews you know he tried so you you're always doing your assignment and and and it just moves it shifts and it was for the purpose that we would ultimately get but is it the gospel I'm sorry my bad no man I'm I'm the one just riving riving riving going so the mission of people of God is that's everybody uh everybody yeah that's to preach the gospel of the kingdom right so the in in and this is what people gotta understand too when you hear preach don't don't put it into your preconceived notion of that look at preaching for what it is it is proclaiming it is heralding so you are your mission is always going to be to proclaim and herald the kingdom of God but it's gonna be in your specific way it's not gonna always be that you are going to get in front of a microphone and and break down the kingdom you know in in those various ways to people in that in that you know form or fashion but everything you're doing is is preaching you're telling you're proclaiming to somebody something about about you what you believe the things that matter to you and everything that that's everyone absolutely has that that mission but you are assigned to specific areas and it's where you are when you are on that job where you are right now that that's your assignment yeah that that doesn't mean go and take your Bible and try and get everybody to to to believe it according to scripture chapter and verse you know it's it's you living this life it's you letting them see the kingdom you know wherever you are you know and whatever that job is if you're driving for Amazon you need to do that according to the kingdom if you you know working in the plant you know according to the kingdom if you in customer service according to the kingdom everything is your mission is to reveal and and bring the kingdom to everybody and your assignment is where you are and the purpose is for ultimately for everyone to be reconciled to God. Now you bro you like I always say man I call you the apostle of joy and in your mission you were sent man to and and and and here's the thing and to like Esther is that she was born and came into the kingdom for such a time as this her looks the way she was everything man was for her her to ultimately to come in and she was going to wind up becoming the king's wife and being able to influence him to save the the Jewish nation that was her map man everything her keeping herself up her beauty because guess what man she was when when the time came when the king was going to be choosing a wife or and that's a whole nother story obviously I'm being very simplistic with the story but when you you do that bro she's sitting on keeping her body tight she up here you know her looks is on AR she's she's very attentive to her uncle and serving uh being that type of of woman uh to a man all of that bro was that was part of her map man of where she came with I am so glad you brought that up so because we've been talking about this in the family because uh had my stepdaughter fasted for three days dry fast that's what Esther did that's what Esther did so um but was it her purpose because you know you couldn't you couldn't go to the king unless you were summoned so she she she was about to go to the king so she f drive fasted for three days and she asked her people to drive fast for three days because they wanted some divine intervention because when wasn't he wasn't he gonna put her people to death yes yep they were he was gonna the Jews were absolutely gonna be put to death yes sir yeah yeah so I was just you know um this no that I mean that yeah that that's a powerful point man because you know but this is also knowing her mission and her assignment and the purpose the map because this is why it's important to have people in your life people of God that will help you navigate that map is is her uncle came to her you know she like you said you could not go to the king unless you were summoned this is the reason why she is now his wife because his previous wife Vashd he summoned for her and she didn't go and and so he banished her you know and he did he didn't kill her he could have but he didn't he just he banished her now you got the replacement wife that knows that and now if she doesn't go in and intercede for the nation they're gonna be killed and her uncle goes and tells her he's like you need to go and talk to the king and tell him what Haman is planning on doing his boy his right hand is planning on doing to our people and he said and if you don't go he said don't think that you're gonna be spared because because the mandate when under that rulership when you ordered a decree the king had to go through with it no matter what it cost him he they had to for they had to do the decree the the declaration or they were no longer going to be considered king man because you you you violated your word it ain't like today you know you know it was it was it was serious and um and her uncle told her he said you need to do this he was like and who knows if this was the reason that you were born that you were sent to come to the kingdom for such a time as this for this moment and she because she respected her uncle so much uh she she was like yeah I gotta do this but like you said she they needed divine intervention so she went on a fast she told her uncle fast and called for everybody that was you know around her her people fast because I'm gonna go do this and here's the thing she said and if I perish I perish I'm gonna do it no matter what and if God doesn't favor us in this situation and I get killed then I get killed but I'm gonna go do it and bro we see what happened and Lord delivered the nation through her through her yeah oh man trust in the map but like but getting back to you bro you know look the the kind of and you've always been this and I can attest uh to this people of God because you know Hicks is my day one we went to school together from Kenny Garden and bro you you and you've always been that person that was just very you know brought laughter and joy and stuff I mean of course we didn't know how to articulate it like that back then you know and you would say stuff like class clown not that you was the class clown you wasn't like that you were a jester you know the way you was just acting goofy you know all the time that was Malcolm What up Malcolm Malcolm Jules Malcolm X yeah

But nobody she just did it because she just saw it in the Bible. She's a newconvert. So she you know, she's trying to cut her teeth, and um so she did a three-day three-day drive fast. And so when I got when I when I heard the if then I heard that news, I told her, like, that's dangerous. Uh you can go without food for about a month and and some change. I said, But water, you're I said your your organs shut down after three days, and she was on the third day. Wow, wow, and and so uh what she said is that when she broke her fast, she just gorged. And so when she was over here, she was sick, she was throwing up. Absolutely, and um, like nobody, nobody first nobody just gave her she didn't ask for I I don't know if she she didn't ask me, but she was using a juicer, and I'm like, you know, so I'm giving a point about that. So I say all this to say whenever you decide to fast, I I would never recommend a drive fast. You know, unless you mean unless you, you know, like Esther, it was some really stupid. Yeah, those are divine moments, yeah, divine moment and life and death, you know? Yes, absolutely. And uh, so I wouldn't I wouldn't recommend a drive fast.

Uh but when something gets dry, this is when you get all the dirt on your car and dust and everything, when it's all it's because you're you're it's dry, you know, dirt gets on dry, you know, your clothes and all that stuff. Um germs are the same way. And you you always got something negative going through your body at some point, man, because we're just in a hostile environment, you know, that we're living in. And and we're creating more and more hostility through how we're living. But bro, when you get dehydrated and you get dry on the inside, bro, stuff that can never incubate will begin to start incubating. Unless God is calling you to that, and you better know he's calling you to that, right? Yeah, you would never want to just go through total dry size.

He was like, they go out, man, and seek dry place. Demon demons actually look when people are being harassed by demons, bro.
