A comedy bit about a preacher turns into something deeper: what does faith look like when it leaves the building and hits real life. We talk about the Holy Spirit as a present Helper, the joy of the Lord as actual strength, and why you can be laughing while you are still standing in the storm.

From there, we go full Bible context mode and walk through the early church tension most people skip past. We break down Paul confronting Peter in Galatians 2, why Jewish tradition made table fellowship with Gentiles a huge deal, and how fear and “clique” pressure can quietly reshape belief. We also react to a viral take on James and wrestle with the grace vs law struggle, what Acts 15 means, and why Scripture keeps the mess visible instead of editing it out.

Along the way we challenge box church routines, talk kingdom culture as a daily mindset, and push back on ideas like “Jesus take the wheel” when it turns into spiritual avoidance. We even get practical with sobriety, hydration, and “eating your water” with watermelon because discipleship touches everything. Subscribe, share this with a friend who loves Bible deep dives, and leave a review with your biggest question about grace and law.

SPEAKER_03

I'd like to make some apologies to you because last Sunday happened. The Walker family brought in this time and asked me to can you heal? Well, apologized because he's a big one here, but I don't want to go touch him.

SPEAKER_06

When I found that I said, I'm gonna get it in the back, man.

SPEAKER_08

I'm gonna get that was a good stuff, bro. You should play that on the regular dude.

SPEAKER_06

I'ma go back and I'ma clean it up.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, oh man. Oh man, that was that was nostalgic, bro.

SPEAKER_06

Yes. People to guys, Richard Pryor doing his famous preacher acting and uh and it's gold. It's still hits to this day.

SPEAKER_05

It is still I wanna touch him, yes. That stuff is contagious. Get a little get a little ninja hat. I wanna get none of that on you, bruh.

SPEAKER_06

You said get a little ninja a big hat and some it would have been his head was bagging bobbing back and forth.

SPEAKER_04

That was a good one, bro.

SPEAKER_06

I know I was like, we wore that out. We used to sit there, listen to that Richard Prior, man. Oh so classic, so yeah,

Joy In The Middle Of Storms

SPEAKER_06

yeah, man.

SPEAKER_08

So what's up, man? What's going on?

SPEAKER_06

Oh man, just enjoying life, you know. Just trying to navigate through the life. Kit falls, man. I got Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit's like, hey, watch that. I'm okay. Boom. Dodge that one. Watch that one. Oh, thanks, Holy Spirit. Thank you, Mr.

SPEAKER_05

Helper.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I didn't know you wanted to get involved with the discussion, Mr. Helper.

SPEAKER_08

Oh yeah. That is all good, man. I love that. I love that, dude. Yeah. Man, that's dude. That's I I couldn't even imagine trying to go through this life without him, dude. I couldn't imagine, man. And it's uh it's a lot going on in in the world, bro. So you definitely want somebody that can uh help you navigate all that stuff, dude.

SPEAKER_06

So yeah, navigate that and um pull on the joy of the Lord.

SPEAKER_08

I mean that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_06

You hear us you hear us laughing, man. You would think like everything was peaches and roses, I'll say you ain't can't see.

SPEAKER_08

I'm talking about you, man, be right in the middle of a stormy situation, dude. And but the joy of the Lord is real, man. Joy of the Lord is our strength, man, and Holy Spirit just admin, it's it's it's the fruit of the spirit, bro. It's having the fruit of his spirit, man. And bro, it's needful in this world because there's a lot going on, dude. And uh, yeah, we right

Alumni Picnic Hugs And Letting Go

SPEAKER_08

in the middle of it.

SPEAKER_06

And um, like I told you before, and it's funny, and I went to the alumni picnic, and I didn't tell you, I we we talked about some things off air, but man, it just I I get, you know, like I told you, I walk around and people I don't know you remember Srida Holiday, man. I forgot about Sri Dha Holiday, I didn't even recognize her. And I, you know, you get in a situation you had an alumni picnic and you don't recognize somebody, but they recognize you.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Come on, Sean.

SPEAKER_05

Sean, I'm like, I don't know, who are you? Right. It's like Sri Da Holiday. No, I never heard I ain't heard that name in forever.

SPEAKER_06

Right, right, right. Took a picture of her, but she was the one like, look at it, he walk around like he's a celebrity. And um, but Holy Spirit was with me, and that's one of the reasons I got that that mojo. And people can and people can sense it, man. And every time, every year, my guy, every year that I've gone, I've had somebody come in and cry on my shoulder. Wow. And it happened yesterday. I mean, I had just gotten there, man. And wow. Just gotten there, and um a fellow uh uh classmate of mine just had a lot on her mind and it hugged on me and just man, I mean, man, my shoulder was wet from their tears. And um, just was just trying to encourage her, you know. It's something about you know, our families was intertwined, and she was talking about some family drama that happened back in the 70s, man. And I was like, and it but it haunts her to this day, and I was like, sis, you gotta let that go. We gotta let it go. Um I get it, I understand, you know, how you feel, and but let it go, let it, you gotta let that go. We can't let that man. We talking about 76, man. I was five years old, man. Like wow, right, right. Um, yeah, it's definitely let that go. And she started to calm down. Uh so but uh, you know, but one thing we we talked about on here, we talked about energy and vibration and yeah, and and and contact, skin contact. I was hugging so many people, and I was transferring the spirit and the love to people, and yeah, and I'm glad this, and I'm glad that I was able to do that for people, man. For sure, man.

SPEAKER_08

Bless that, man.

SPEAKER_06

And um, so I had a couple of people that I had to uh do that with. And God bless them. Yes, man, absolutely. God bless Anster, God bless this podcast, God bless you, man.

SPEAKER_08

And you and the listeners, everybody, yes, man. Yes, man, it's needful, man, and blessed, man. God, that you are able to do that, man. People are looking for a safe place, bro. And this in this world, man, it just doesn't really offer a lot of safety, you know, that you can feel and security. And man, people are so craving that, man. And um, when you find that that space and a person is emanating, like you say, that energy, man, and the love of God, man, people man, people gonna gravitate to it. And that's that's that's that's kingdom right there, bro. That's kingdom, man.

SPEAKER_06

That's kingdom, and uh, you know, and it's a very festive atmosphere. So you I mean, man, I'm like picnic, you know, right. Food, man, the barbecue, the fried fish, the music. Come on. Libation, the libation. Right, right. But in the middle of that, you need somebody sober, you do, you know, bro. And if it wasn't for my sobriety, man, I'll you know what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_08

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_06

I probably would have broke down with these people, man.

SPEAKER_08

Absolutely. And um gotta have a designated driver, bro. You gotta have a designated driver.

SPEAKER_02

How much if you had to drink? A bottle and a half hour? How can you drink a bottle in a half hour? You got a bottle and a half hour, and I'll show you.

SPEAKER_06

And I'm and I appreciate that the uh my my fellow classmates finally get it, you know. I yeah, you know, so I used to always offer stuff all the time, and they don't offer it no more, even though it's just like somebody

Sobriety Hydration And Eating Water

SPEAKER_06

offered, like, did you get you something to eat? Michelle's like, a girl who was school with, she's like, he don't eat this stuff. That's what's up.

SPEAKER_07

That's what's up.

SPEAKER_06

Uh they did have a fruit salad, so on my way out, got me a cup of fruit salad.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, that's what's up.

SPEAKER_06

I was like, because I was on my way out getting the water, bro. And I, you know, I carried my own water, man. Yeah, I drank the whole gallon.

SPEAKER_05

I was like, what am I gonna do? I got to the bottom, I was like shaking the jug.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_05

Trying to get every drop out.

SPEAKER_08

And I broke down the dreads of the really concern for me.

SPEAKER_06

I said that to somebody, like, when my water goes out, what am I drinking? What am I doing? So when I was giving me some water over there, uh, I saw the fruit salad. I was like, hey man, I could eat this.

SPEAKER_08

There you go.

SPEAKER_06

Like, man, I'm gonna get two pants of that. Take you some.

SPEAKER_08

There you go. There you go. You can eat your water too, bro. Yes, you know, yes, you don't want you the one told me that, man.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, I'm glad you brought that up. Um my water machine filtered uh it was gone bad. I need a new filter, you know. The machine tells you time for new filter, time for new filter. And that was last week, bro. And so I had these filters last six months, you know. Depending on how much water you drink. Yeah, and so typically, typically for us is six months, a little more than that. So I went out and order two of them. They're not really, they're not cheap at all, but I ordered two of them, and they finally came yesterday. And so what I was I had, like you said, eat my water. Because my water filter wasn't working, I was eating my water, man. I was eating uh last week. I barely was drinking water. I was eating watermelon cucumbers, bro.

SPEAKER_08

That's what's up.

SPEAKER_05

Stay hydrated, man.

SPEAKER_08

That's what's up, man. That's what's up.

SPEAKER_05

Yep.

SPEAKER_08

Love to even know that, man, to have that knowledge, dude. I never even heard of that or even considered that you could hydrate that way, man. And uh yeah, when I was doing that watermelon that that week, man, I didn't, I mean, you know, and I love water, so I drank it, but I didn't even drink nearly that much water that week because I was eating so much of the, you know, the watermelon and everything, dude. And man, I I felt amazing, dude.

SPEAKER_06

Man, God bless watermelons, man.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, ain't no doubt, man. She was like, make sure you get some watermelon, because now on Mondays we start the week off, man, uh the work week, and that's what we eat. You know, we that's all we eat, you know, on Monday. So yeah, that's what's up.

SPEAKER_06

And you people of color don't let people talk and say it's some stereotypical. No, that was that was planted, so you wouldn't do it because it's a it's a magical fruit. Yeah, it's very magical. Yeah, yes, man. It has so many, so many benefits, and yeah, hydration is the top of it. That's why it's called watermelon.

SPEAKER_08

And don't eat it, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_06

You eat it at night, you will be waking up in the middle of the night going to the bathroom. All right, man, we caught up

Peter And Paul Clash In Galatians

SPEAKER_06

now.

SPEAKER_08

Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Let's get on.

SPEAKER_08

Let's go on and get to this Paul and James we've been talking about for.

SPEAKER_06

Well, you know, I'm leaning on, yeah, I'm leaning on you, man. Um you could you could be on your Taylor Wells today, man.

SPEAKER_04

Oh man, dude. So yeah, go ahead.

SPEAKER_06

So what I'm gonna say, I I was aware of um, I knew they had some differences, and you know, uh, but I didn't concentrate on them. Right. The word of God is word of God. Absolutely. So I didn't, I wasn't I didn't look at it with the nuance, but I I was aware of a lot of people are of Peter Peter and Paul, you know, so you know that you know Paul in Galatians uh 2, 11 through 14. Yeah, that's what it is. Eating with the Gentiles, man, and then you know the Jewish believers talked about with the rituals and when Peter pulled back out of fear, and Paul's like, Man, you compromise. So I was aware of that. Um can you like elaborate on that more just a little bit before we go into uh James?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, man. So, you know, so first of all, people just really gotta lay the groundwork to understand this, and this helps give a perspective to to everything else that you that you read in the scriptures in any situation you come across is that you gotta understand what's happening, you know, what's going on, the cultural, you know, issue that's being addressed, the the actual thing that that has come up, and you gotta know what's happening socially. So man, the gospel was brand new, dude. It was just it just came, you know, it to a people that have been under a certain, you know, religious and traditional mindset for centuries, for centuries. And I'm talking about like millenniums, not just you know, two, three hundred years. You're talking about thousands of years, and so now the law, you know, came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. So that they're showing you it's a contrast right there. So now that Christ then came, you know, he then did his work, and he then released that message to his disciples, his apostles. So they go out now. There is an apostle that is specifically for the Gentiles, and Gentiles just simply means nations, so it was the Jews, and then there was everyone else, the Gentiles. So there's a specific person that that God has called to just, I'm gonna send you to them because you know the Jewish, you have the Jewish understanding and foundation and culture, but you need to take this message to a people that don't know anything about Jewish culture. Dual Lego. There you go, man. And and and Paul was that God. That's why when Jesus showed up and got him, he said, You're a special messenger for me. And so that so that's legit. Peter and all of them, man, James, all of them, they were all Jewish, bro. They they they come up in that tradition, and that's all they have known. And in their culture, man, you did not mingle with the rest of the nations. You're a nation that's specifically set aside for for God, for Yahweh. So you don't entangle with all that other stuff. And they called them unclean, and and it was pollute, you would consider it pollution. And what the hell is that? Sit down at a table and eat with them. So that's basically the premise, the mindset. So Peter and them coming out of that, but in Galatia, when they was in the church of Galatia, Paul there, you know, that's a gentile, you know, church. Paul there, Peter's there. Now, Peter was the person, even though Paul was the one that was sent to the Gentiles specifically, Peter was the first person to preach the gospel to the Gentiles. And that was at Cornelia's house, man. And it said in his house, oh, and everybody got saved, and and all of that. So, so Peter was the first one to preach to the Gentiles, but Apostle was the one that was assigned to them. So having all that context right there, just as a foundation, Peter coming out of his prejudice with with this. I mean, he's a person, just like all of us is, and he's dealing with some some, you know, his prejudices. So he's sitting there, he's with Paul, he's in Galatia. They didn't, you know, they didn't shook hands and gave each other, you know, they fellowship in him and Paul. And Peter's eating with the Gentiles. So there's a group of folk that came from the Jews, want to check up what's going on, how's the gospel progressing and all of this? But they was from the company of James, they was from his camp. And Peter knows they from his, you know, oh my goodness, it's my boys. So he sees them and he starts pulling back, getting up from the table and start clicking over with them, you know, and kicking it with them. And and you could see, and they and that group was called, you know, James clicked, they was called the circumcision. So, which is what all this was about, man, because they wanted, they said that the Gentiles need to be circumcised just like Jews to be saved. Like they need to get circumcised, man. So that was a whole beef. And and Paul and James settled that, you know, face to face and in a council meeting back in Jerusalem. Like, no, we're gonna agree the Gentiles don't have to do that, and all that. But when he saw the clique show up, he's he's acting clique ish. So he's pulling away from the Gentiles, and he's hanging with his Jewish boys, you know, and he's he's lining up with so Paul looking and he's observing this, man. He in the cut laying, looking, and Paul went in on Peter. It was like, man, you know, you hypocrite, bro. You know, you're a hypocrite, man. Before your boys showed up, everything was good. And you understood that the Gentiles' faith is what saved you, your faith in Jesus Christ. It ain't about all these traditions and rules and all that, because sitting and eating with Gentiles was not a thing Jewish people did. Yeah, that that prejudice still was there, man. And when he's his boys show up, he pulled back, you know. Like, man, I'm gonna sit at day table. I'm not gonna sit with the gentile believers, you know, this part of the family, dude. This and that was beef. And Paul called him out publicly. Come on, demonstrably my dad. I mean, he didn't pull him to the side, man. He clowned him right there in the fellowship hall. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06

It's so Paul, man.

SPEAKER_08

It's straight up, man. Paul was gangster, bro, when it came to the kingdom. But here's the thing Paul was that gangster about Jewish tradition. Yep. And and and this is really why God called him. Like, I need that demeanor to go into this area of these people. Now that's got to hear this message, man. I mean, pu what people need to understand is and they weren't like America or the Western people. It wasn't like over in Rome were there weren't they weren't atheists under the Roman, you know, uh Empire. They believed in gods, multiple gods. So they were very religious and very spiritual, quote unquote, people in Rome. And and Rome wasn't having that. You couldn't say you didn't believe in no God, because for you to say that would be say you don't believe in Caesar as King.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Because he was considered a God, you know, a son of God. He was considered to be a son of Zeus. So this is why Jesus' claim for being son of God was so you know, uprising with people because you're saying the same thing Caesar's saying about himself. You know, he's a son of God, so you know, all of that. So I'm just saying that it's just very it was very spiritual and religious. So it wasn't like it was people now, no group did not believe in a God of some sort. So Paul is going into the Gentile world, man, and uprooting all that stuff. So he's bringing the truth to them, and the people that have received it, their part, as Paul is saying, man, they got the same, you know, rights and access to God as as we, the Jewish people, have always had. And you gotta view them as such, man. And that was a problem, dude. Those the prejudices still had to be worked out, dude. And this is what we have to understand about that, even when we read the scriptures, and that's what I used to I love when you say that when people. People say, yeah, the Bible just written by a bunch of men. Why would people write negatively about themselves, man?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, why would they continue?

SPEAKER_08

No one would ever do that, dude. No. You're gonna always make yourself look like a hero if you write in the story. And the Bible don't do that, bro. The Bible shows us the frailties, you know, and the issues that we have to deal with and overcome. And that that ain't no different between the apostles.

SPEAKER_06

And also, too, keep in mind that it was not too long, not too long after Jesus' crucifixion.

SPEAKER_08

So right, exactly.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and that that's really nice thing to really think about, too. Like you said, the things new, man.

SPEAKER_08

It was new, it was brand new. Absolutely. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_06

Um yeah. Uh so that brings us to James and and um Paul.

A Viral Take On James

SPEAKER_06

And so I'm gonna play a video. Uh Matt McMellan. People go check out Matt McMillan, he's good, he's new covenant minister. Uh, don't agree with everything he's, but he's man, he is he's on fire. He's still on fire, or he's he's gonna teach us a lot of things. But I I pulled his video up because he's he got the he got he got the community up in up in arms, man.

SPEAKER_05

He up hey, wait a minute, man. You can't say that about James. James was the half brother, Jesus. Right, right.

SPEAKER_06

He knew he knew what he was saying, man. So and I just love he just like, uh, go just check my video. So he so you will see Matt McMellan all platforms. I see him on TikTok and YouTube. So check out Matt McMellan Ministries. So here's a video that he posted 10 reasons James and Paul disagree. It's alone. This video is about 10 minutes, but I I cut it down to under two minutes, so let's check this out.

SPEAKER_01

Briefly, let's talk about who James is. Because we love James, we respect James, we think James should be left in the Bible. Nobody is saying it. Toss James out. So James is the half-brother of Jesus, but he wasn't a believer until after the resurrection. James's epistle was the first one written. It's either James or First Thessalonians, and the reason why that matters is because it was written before Acts chapter 15. In Acts chapter 15, he said, Grace alone is not enough. You have to follow parts of the law. Peter opposed him, and he also gave Paul instructions to go back to the Gentiles and tell them to follow parts of the law. Clearly, Paul didn't do this because he came back into town, and in chapter 21 of Acts, Paul said James was zealous for the law, and he questioned Paul as to why he didn't tell people they had to continue to follow the law of Moses. James then basically arm wrestled Paul into doing some ceremonial rituals at the temple after accusing Paul of not teaching parts of the law to new believers. This also proved that James was still going to the temple for ceremonial rituals, proving he was still practicing Judaism. We see in Hebrews chapter 10 that God finds no pleasure in those who shrink back toward temple work because Christ was the final sacrifice. We see in the letter to the Galatians, his group tried to get Peter to not eat. Briefly, let's talk about who James is. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

That's real, man. Mm-hmm. That's real, man.

Personality Unity And Holy Spirit Partnership

SPEAKER_08

And I love the scriptures on how the Lord lets that tension remain in there. Holy Spirit, I love because Paul, the one that says, told Timothy, all scriptures given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Inspiration. He's inspiring me to write it. But he's letting it be wrote through people's uh own personalities, bro. I wrote a book that is inspired by the Holy Spirit. But I wrote it through my personal individuality and my personality is comes out in that book. It's it's this God does not change our personalities, bro. He redeems our lives from destruction, but he don't he's putting us back into the way we're supposed to be. But he's he's allowing us to work through that process. And he doesn't hide it. He didn't hide it in the scriptures, he doesn't hide it in our own daily lives. He people got beef with each other because we're all coming from a train of thought. And God wasn't, he's not mad because we have denominations, bro. He ain't upset about that. What he's upset about is that we won't work it out and that we won't find the unity of the faith through all of our he's not ignorant that we all coming from different backgrounds and perspectives and all of that stuff, man. He knows that. But he's expecting us to bring it under the righteousness, peace, and joy of the kingdom and and work this stuff out with each other. And we need to understand that, man. It's not about this. This is Christ church, bro.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

But he's letting he's letting us work our junk out, you know, our mess out. And he's okay with that. God, God is not hampered by time, bro. You know what I mean? He's like, if it's gonna take y'all two, if it take y'all two, three, four thousand years to figure it out, then figure it out. And and he don't got no problem with that.

SPEAKER_06

So so that's saying all of you and and none of me, that sounds like a religious saying.

SPEAKER_08

That's that's a hundred percent religious saying. Because how can it be all of uh all of I know we love to say Jesus take the will, but bro, if you let that wheel go, Jesus is gonna look at you crash. He's gonna look at you crash, bro. And you're gonna say God didn't love you, you know, because you don't want to let the will go, but Jesus, I told you to take it. I thought I had the will because I thought I lived in you, and I thought you listened to me. And so what you're saying is Jesus take the will, and it's it's just like it's no different than the struggle that Jesus had in the Garden of Gethsemane. He says, Father, you can do anything. If it be possible, let this cup pass from me. I don't, I don't want to do this, I don't want to do this, but nevertheless, not my will, your will be done. He didn't say, Father, take the will. I'm I'm I'm out. I'm Father. He said, No, nevertheless, not my will, your will be done. And he still had to go to the cross.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. It's not we're not talking about possession. No, right.

SPEAKER_08

See, that's what they want. Yeah, people want to be possessed by the Holy Spirit. And that dude, that's the thing, and that's when they were like, I I I didn't have no control. It's just, you know, got God just took me over, man. It's just not that's none of me, it was all of him. Come on, it's still your body, it's impossible for it to be because if it's none of you, it ain't getting done because God is spirit. You need you need that spiritual reality to be manifested in this physical one. He doesn't, he can't do it without a physical body, it's a partnership, it's an interdependence, bro. He needs us, we need him, and and that is blasphemous to hit for true traditional and religious people to hear that God needs me.

SPEAKER_06

You um what is that word that um what is that uh Hebrew word that you you was talking in one of your teachings when God made Adam, he kneeled. What is that word?

SPEAKER_08

That's that's the word, that's barak. Yeah, barak, yeah. Yeah, in in the original uh Hebrew in Genesis. Yes, it means when God blessed Adam, he it's and he barocked him. And and that literally means to kneel. The literal is to kneel, the figurative is to speak well of. Yes, you know, to speak well. So the Lord, when he spoke, he said, listen, you have dominion over the earth. And so figuratively, all creation is listening to God and and hearing him empowering Adam to have dominion over everything concerning the earth. But in the literal sense, what creation beheld is God in essence kneeling to the authority of Adam that he gave to him. It's not God kneeling in to him like he's under his control. He's God himself is kneeling to the authority that he himself is giving to Adam, his son. It is no different than my father coming into my house and abiding under my authority. My father can come in, like, son, can you turn down that uh AC, man? You know, because I keep my AC at 70. It's cold in here, man. Can you do it? Out of respect for him, I'll adjust the temperature. Do I can he make me adjust the temperature? No. No. It's it's through our relationship and him and him petitioning me or telling me to do it. But it's my respect and my hum in me humbling myself under my father that will make me change the temperature, but he can't make me change it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I was just listening to a video, brother talked about the about that, and um, I was like, oh yeah, I forgot about that. And I remember uh talking to one of my buddies about it, and I talked about the word Barack. Oh, that's blasphemous. He would never do a thing like that. I was like, you know, all right, I just won't talk about this, I won't even talk about this with you.

SPEAKER_08

Dude, because man, as as I always what you hear me say is that the Holy Spirit, when he revealed to me, Jesus sits on a throne, not a pedestal. And we put Christ on a pedestal, man. Jesus don't need us pedestalizing him every time we come into him, like, Lord, it just, oh, it's just the same thing that John the Baptist did. Like, you know, that we took John meant it in a way, well, even he meant it in a way that wasn't conducive, but he was like, I must decrease so he can increase. No, no, you don't have to to to dial down in the authority and the position that you have for Christ to increase. What you do is you just best from where you are, you bet just bestow that honor upon him, and he he's gonna he's increased because he's the master. Yes, you you don't have to act like you don't have to announce being a servant when the master walks in the room, he's the master.

SPEAKER_06

Yep.

SPEAKER_08

So you know, you the I must decrease. So I I can't stand when I hear preachers praying like that. Lord, let me I must decrease so you can increase. Okay, so so I've been uh I've been subject to your flesh this whole time until now. Oh you you ain't been under the authority of Jesus Christ this whole time till you just prayed that prayer. You know what I mean? He's he's the king of kings, the Lord of Lords. He don't ask us to relinquish our authority as kings and lords so he can be a king and a lord. He's like, No, I'm do. In fact, he told his disciples, he said, the master is not greater. I mean, he said the servant or those who serve the master are not greater than the master. He said, but it's good that the master and the servants are equal. Jesus came to bring us into equality with him, not to rule over us as servants. He himself said, the servants don't abide in the house forever.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_08

The sons do. And that's who he came to bring to glory, the sons, man. So, yes, God kneeling to the authority of his own decree and decision, that's him humbling himself under his own word, which is what Psalms 138 talks about. He said, You magnify your word above your own name. So above all your name. So you can sit there and say, uh Yahweh and all, oh man, his name's so holy. You can't even, and in Jewish traditions, they can't, they won't even say it. They won't even they'll spell his name, but they won't utter the words because they say his word, his name is too holy to be uttered.

SPEAKER_06

Wow, okay, religion. Uh so man, dude.

Kingdom Culture Versus The Box Church

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. I'm getting like you now because I'm just like we put that and look, put the podcast out last week, which is a great episode. People share it, share, comment, like, yeah, all of that. It was a great man. I love that podcast.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But what people don't like, when you talk, when you go after Christy, Christianity. He said the the theological gumbo called Christianity. Oh man. So the the clip that we that the sound bite I put out, man, part we got a lot of views for that. But not the download of the podcast.

SPEAKER_04

Right, right.

SPEAKER_06

Don't talk about Christianity, man.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_06

You know, right, and this this is an issue, and all this religious stuff and all this practices and the traditions of man is just pissing me off.

SPEAKER_08

That that's all it dude. Dude, you already know how I feel about Christy, dude. But but here's the thing, man, and this, and to me, man, this is this is what I'm I pray that people get ultimately out of the gospel twins, man, out of what we do, is that we're showing you the infusion of kingdom culture. Because I've heard people like, y'all, y'all, y'all talk a whole lot about just y'all everyday stuff, y'all doing, and and not enough about the scriptures. And I'm like, so okay, so me coming up, mew and me coming up here, dude, just quoting a bunch of scriptures, is gonna do what to people's lives. Thank you. We're showing you how to navigate. We're showing you how to this is a daily thing. We're showing you how to erase the secular and sacred quote unquote divide that God is not compartmentalized in our lives, man. It's he's he's in every day part. He's in the he's in the clips that we watch, he's in the movies, he's in the the work, he's in the relationships, he's he's intrinsically part of our every moment by moment life. And this is what kingdom culture is. It's it's it's taking over, it's leavening the culture, yes, and and changing your mind about how you see your everyday interactions.

SPEAKER_06

Yep, influence.

SPEAKER_08

It's it's that's exactly what it is. You too, it's the ultimate, especially in a day and age we're talking about influencing and be an influencer, it's the ultimate influence that there is, dude. The kingdom that everything is is kingdom, dude.

SPEAKER_06

I know a place where you can hear a lot of scriptures, and it's called the box church. And you you go there.

SPEAKER_08

And how much change do you see happening?

SPEAKER_06

And thank you. Like, how much change are you have are you seeing? Are you witnessing any change? I don't see any of it. It was so bad that I busted up. Like, I got to get up out of here. It's like, it's just a routine. It's a whole bunch of this whole bunch of routines, theatrics. Absolutely, and it was nothing of substance after while I mean I'm I was fed, and I got you know, I got to a certain level, but at when I got to that level, I wasn't like I was like, this can't just be this can't just be life. This is not life. Dude, it's my my dude.

SPEAKER_08

I was yearning so much. I was yearning for more. Your your your true relationship, your true seeking and seek and searching for the kingdom, which is really what we were commanded to do by Jesus, it took you out of the box, church. My eyes have seen my true authentic search for God and relationship with Father and His kingdom and the way that He does things, it says not only seek the kingdom and his righteousness, which is means God's way of doing things. It took me out of the church, yeah. Quote unquote, you know, the box church, not the church, not the ecclesia, but you know, the ecclesia, but took me out of the box church, the organized, institutionalized religion. And this is what you're seeing happening even now. They're calling it a deconstruction, is what their word they're using now. But it just means that people are really looking for authentic relationship, man, and and the box church doesn't offer that.

SPEAKER_06

No, so uh to go back to where we're talking about, um, we were talking about uh Peter

Grace And Law Tension With James

SPEAKER_06

and Paul. So is that the same dynamic with James and Paul? Is that the same issue, the pretty much the same issue that oh yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_08

Okay it was the exact same thing, and like even in the clip that you just ran, um, it's it's it's good to have the context that James was one of the first epistles written, or when, or if it was first Thessalonians, whichever it came before the event in Acts 15, which was when Paul and James actually came face to face. Because remember, Paul was doing things, and he himself said, I didn't immediately go confer with flesh and blood. I did not go to Jerusalem and all of that stuff. He went and got and he said, and the Lord took me out in the in the desert of uh you know Arabia, and I was taught by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Flesh and blood didn't teach me this, but I know Jesus did directly. So this is why Paul, like you said, you know, had holy you walking with Holy Spirit on your back through the through the alumni picnic. This is what gave Paul his confidence, man. Holy Spirit taught me this. This is I I didn't learn this from sitting in your seminary and going to your you know theological school. I was schooled directly. You know, we call it homeschooled, but directly by Holy Spirit. So he revealed the grace.

SPEAKER_06

What's that school in Tulsa, Oklahoma? What's that school?

SPEAKER_08

Is that Rhema? Rhema? It's either Rhema or Roberts or O R U. But it might be, it might be Rhema.

SPEAKER_06

I think it's Rhema. I think it's Rhema. I think are you talking about the one that Miles Monroe went to? Is that the one? Uh no, my past, I think my pastor and my junior pastor. Oh, okay. It might be Rhema.

SPEAKER_08

Rhema, I think it was Rayma.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. Yeah. And and man, and I don't mean no disrespect to anybody who go to seminary and do all I remember people used to say the cemetery. I mean seminary. But you know, man. But what if you don't do it with the right uh motive, because Paul was very, very versed. He he sat under Gamaliel, which would be like sitting under the greatest, like going to Harvard, you know, or something, you know, one of the most elite schools that there is. He sat under Gamaliel, man, and all and he he himself said, look, for me to win Christ to really, really get a real relationship with Jesus, I had to count all that stuff. Done. You know, as you say, feed cheese. I had to count it all.

SPEAKER_00

I went in the restroom, they locked me in there for like 45 minutes. It was due to a feces thrown all over the walls, the floor, the ceiling, and it stunk so bad. Like that.

SPEAKER_08

And you know, somebody, I'm supposed to ignore my $350,000 uh degree. You know what? You know the time and the money. I'm still paying uh uh on these through these these loans that I went to. And you telling me I'm supposed to forget all that? I'm not telling you anything. I'm telling you, this is what Paul's saying that he had to do to order to win and pursue Christ for the high calling in Christ Jesus. See, you you can keep if you want to keep your degree and all that and keep doing your your your thing, then go ahead. But just know there's a level of Christ you can't obtain with holding on to that.

SPEAKER_06

So um I'm gonna go back to something you had said. So uh the person you were talking about about us not understanding up scriptures, like they want us to just sit here and just like quote scripture, right?

SPEAKER_08

Just you know, give all of this, you know, y'all talk so much about you know what y'all do, and which I thought explaining how God is actually changing our lives is really supposed to be what this is about, man, in today's term. You want me to sit here and just quote a bunch of things that people wrote uh thousands of years before we were even born, that wasn't even written to us, now they're for us, but we're showing you how when we take what we read, because you you post scriptures on your uh on your page all the time. So so it's not like we don't we honor the scriptures 100%. Absolutely, that's the anchor. But what is that scripture doing other than you memorizing it? Is it is it something for you to memorize or for something that you take and make memories with? Yes, and people got so much memorization of scriptures, but they don't have no memory of how that scripture changed their life. We're not here to play with this, man. We're here to we we work out our salvation in front of people right here on the podcast. We admit stuff. This is how again how you know we're inspired by Holy Spirit because we come in here and talk about our shortcomings. We don't just come in here heroing all over the place.

SPEAKER_06

Heck no, I mean I'll show our humble and and like I'm I'm trying to transform, man.

SPEAKER_08

Absolutely. We we renew our minds every day, yeah. Every day, dude.

SPEAKER_06

Holy Spirit tell like, hey, this I do, I repent and I go that way. I go that way. You know, and we have that it's real life, people. Yeah, this is real life, and I take that scripture and I apply it to today's today, today, absolutely fair standard or whatever word you want to use, and uh you know uh the culture, whatever you're going through.

SPEAKER_08

Even the situation, like the good thing about bringing up this this this this tension or beef that was initially, which they worked out, man. You know, Paul and James worked their beef out. But but let me let me show you the difference when you don't fully understand and embrace grace in the way that you should. Your struggle with trying to mingle the two, because like he said, James was still going to the temple, despite the temple and already been wrecked, they re- they the little the the issues they re you know, uh it's a when Christ, when he gave up the ghost, man, there was an earthquake. Parts of the temple started getting, you know, destroyed, and the veil was rent. Yep, from the top from the top to the bottom. It's so much significance in all of that. But what did they do? They repaired the temple and they sold up the veil.

unknown

You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_08

So religion is hard to get rid of, man. It's hard, and but here's the thing. Do you know who the first martyr was in the church? It was James. Oh, okay. James got killed. Oh, yeah, man. They killed James. They with a sword, bro. He was killed. Well, maybe Stephen might have been the first. Yes, maybe Stephen might have been the first. But James got killed out of all the apostles, he was the first to go. And and so somebody was like, Well, you know, it was God's will. No, why why? When they was getting ready to kill Peter, it was getting Peter was getting ready to get killed the next day. Um, you know, when they caught him the next day. The saints prayed him out, the angels came and freed him. Why he's the same apostle? Paul was shipwrecked and all types of stuff. Death was coming for him constantly. He one time did get stoned to death, and and the and the saints prayed him back up. The family got him back. Why James go out and was the first? Because he was still mixing and mingling grace with the law.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Jesus couldn't. This is Jesus' half-brother, and Jesus could not protect him the way he wanted to protect him because he was still mingling the two.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, Matt McMillan was talking about, you know how he talked about how this event happened

Chronological Bibles Canon And Enoch

SPEAKER_06

before that event. Is there a Bible that has everything in chronological order? Because I would like, I would like to see that.

SPEAKER_08

You can. You can actually, man, my father had one. I so that means so that means I got it in in the crates somewhere because I got all his stuff, all his old Bibles and stuff. So I had to look at it. But yeah, I remember because Job is actually the first book. Genesis is not the first book written.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

You know, it's it's Job was the first recorded uh scriptures that there that there are. So when you in this Bible, it was Job and and I forget how it was, because I really, you know, at the time I wasn't walking in the faith and really could care less, but I have it somewhere. I have to look it up. But you could probably right now just pull it up on Google, and they it's probably tell you it probably got so many different versions of it.

SPEAKER_06

I looked it up, they just showed me the they just showed me the books in order, but they didn't I didn't I couldn't like want to purchase a Bible that's oh find the actual Bible you could get.

SPEAKER_08

Oh yeah, man. I'll I'll go through well, we're in the middle of the move right now. So when I start unpacking, I'll I'll find it and come across it, man, and and definitely let you know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, because when I learned about when I learned about Job, I that that only made sense for me for what everything he went through. It's like oh sure. Oh, that that's that had to be at the beginning. Like, why is that toward like why is that place at that part of the Bible? Why is it not the beginning?

SPEAKER_08

Man, because people, you know, I mean, pe people chose the books that we have in here. The Catholic Church. They decided they they decided which scriptures was gonna be canonized and was not. We we can see that there's another letter to the Corinthians that Paul talks about that's not there. You can see all of the different books that the other scriptures reference is that it's not in there. The book of Enoch should actually absolutely be probably one of the first books that we come across. Yeah, and give us some context about this little obscure part of scripture in Genesis 6. And Enoch talks about the whole doggone thing.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, Holy Spirit has guided me. I'm gonna find that book. I just want to get into it. I just wanted to see it, man.

SPEAKER_08

Um yeah, see how it's broke down chronologically. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, that give, yeah, it does, and it gives perfect and great context too. Absolutely. Yeah, that does the kind the current Bible doesn't give, so um yeah, yeah, just a lot of jumping around here and there and all that.

SPEAKER_08

So it is, but this is again, this is what makes having an authentic relationship spirit so imperative, dude. Because we just have enough, even John himself says in John in his in his uh gospel in the last chapter, he says, listen, if everything was recorded that Jesus did, he was like, We he was like, You it wouldn't be enough books in this world. Every book we read would be about Jesus only if we were just trying to record everything that he did. It's just the worlds couldn't hold it. And then in the his epistle, John says, These things were written that we may believe. He's just saying, Man, we just giving you enough, dude, yeah, to get to for y'all to believe. If you knew everything, yeah, come on, man. Dude, stop.

SPEAKER_06

Don't play with me, man. Don't play with me. All right, let's end it here, man.

Read The Word And Closing Blessing

SPEAKER_06

But I do want to say to the people read your Bible and get your scriptures there, and then come and holler that the uh gospel twins. There you go. We love you.

SPEAKER_08

We love you, people of God, please.

SPEAKER_00

There was doo-doo feces thrown all over the wall.
