Hello everyone, I'm Philip Westry and I'm honored to introduce you to Free State Justice's new podcast, Pathway to Progress. Free State Justice is a legal service nonprofit that fights for LGBTQ folks and people living with HIV across the state of Maryland. Join me and a rotating panel of guest hosts and advocates as we discuss the fight for decriminalizing HIV across the country. You'll hear about things like the history of HIV criminalization,
Before we even get to legislative reform, there was a ton of advocacy work at the ground level, local level, the advocates engaged in. And they really set the stage for the advocacy work that we all engage in now. The experiences of people living with HIV. Once the media gets involved and it's no longer about the case, in this case it's no longer about HIV, it's about villainizing the person who's been charged. And what you can do about decriminalizing HIV today.
What I want people to do is to think critically about the things that they see. And a part of that is learning, you know, understanding our history, understanding where we are and what's going on and how people are impacted. And so much more. Please subscribe to Pathway to Progress wherever you listen to podcasts. And thank you for joining us in this important fight.
