Navigating the labyrinth of fraud: Challenges in investigation and prosecution
The UK Post Office Horizon Inquiry published its long-awaited report last week. A series of significant weaknesses are identified in the UK Post Office response to allegations of fraud. Also in the UK news this week is a report that the UK government is exploring options to curtail the automatic right to trial by jury when complex fraud is involved.
The challenges involved in responding to fraud are of course experienced across the world and not just the UK. In this inConversation, ICA Vice President Tim Tyler will talk to Andy Clarke, a seasoned fraud investigator and former Global Lead, Financial Crime Prevention at ICA, about the particular challenges that large and complex fraud allegations can involve, and how we can respond effectively to them. Discussion will take in the key elements of successful investigation; the potential to prosecute companies as well as individuals; and navigating through a large and sophisticated trial.
We hope you can join the discussion.
