The Great Tribulation refers to the intense period of suffering, persecution, and judgment experienced by the Jewish nation and Jerusalem during the Roman siege of Jerusalem from 66-70 A.D., culminating in the destruction of the city and the Temple. The wrath of God was expressed through these events as a divine judgment upon Jerusalem for its rejection of Christ and its rebellion, fulfilling prophetic warnings given by Jesus and the apostles.
