60 and More Crowd: Off To Work We Go!
Welcome to the trailer for The 60 and More Crowd Podcast: Off To Work We Go! I am your host, and podcast creator, Sue. This is a new podcast series based in Canada with a wide global lens. We’re digging into something a lot of us are living: the decision to keep working in our 60's, 70's and beyond and re-imaging what that could look like- staying in your work role or exploring new ways to work.
You can't use an old map to navigate to explore a new world.
Whether you’ve hit a traditional retirement age and aren’t ready to stop, or you’ve “retired” only to find yourself back on the job, you’re not alone. Turns out, both are on the rise. Many people are saying they plan to work into their 70's or longer more than any previous generation. These are short on the go episodes less than 8 minutes. Worker longevity is a multi-layered topic and future episodes will feature various aspects of this growing trend. It's fresh modern take with a wide global viewpoint.
I am a real person with experience relating to the topic and the audience. Post career I wanted to keep a work chapter. This path, inspired to lend my voice and create the podcast. Two questions, I keep in mind: 1) How are others in this community navigating the working longer scenario, what does it look like 2) How are organizations and supporting an age inclusive environment. I continue to dig into the topic to keep listeners informed in future episodes.
I love hear to hear from listeners, especially if this has sparked your interest.

Welcome to Episode #5, I am your host and the podcast creator, Sue Plant. This is the first season of The 60 and More Crowd Podcast. Thanks to the early listeners in the global audience! This a Canadian based podcast with a generous global viewpoint,
Many people across the globe who are in their 60’s, 70’ and beyond are approaching or moving past traditional retirement timelines and delaying their exit from the workforce. In Canada, close to 25% of people over the age of 65 are working in some capacity.
How will work fit into your life? The spotlight shines on modern worker longevity and highlighting the immense value older workers bring to the marketplace. These are short on the go episodes less than 8 minutes. Each episode features a different aspect of the working longer trend
In this episode we are taking an initial look at trends/key themes of older worker participation in specific countries: Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, The Netherlands and Canada. There is additional focus on the level and type of support and programs offered by employers/organizations.
How are both workers and employers/organizations navigating this big change to the labour force? This podcast was ground level inspired my experience as an older older worker navigating a work chapter, after leaving my longtime corporate sales role.
