60 and More Crowd: Off To Work We Go!
Welcome to the trailer for The 60 and More Crowd Podcast: Off To Work We Go! I am your host, and podcast creator, Sue. This is a new podcast series based in Canada with a wide global lens. We’re digging into something a lot of us are living: the decision to keep working in our 60's, 70's and beyond and re-imaging what that could look like.
You can't use an old map to navigate to explore a new world.
Whether you’ve hit a traditional retirement age and aren’t ready to stop, or you’ve “retired” only to find yourself back on the job, you’re not alone. Turns out, both are on the rise. Many people are saying they plan to work into their 70's or longer more than any previous generation. These are short on the go episodes less than 8 minutes. Worker longevity is a multi-layered topic and future episodes will feature various aspects of this growing trend. It's fresh modern take with a wide global viewpoint.
I am a real person with experience relating to the topic and the audience. Post career I wanted to keep a work chapter. This path, inspired to lend my voice and create the podcast. Two questions, I keep in mind: 1) How are others in this community navigating the working longer scenario, what does it look like 2) How are organizations and supporting an age inclusive environment. I continue to dig into the topic to keep listeners informed in future episodes.
I love hear to hear from listeners, especially if this has sparked your interest.

60 and More Crowd: Off To Work We Go!
Workplace Trends: Chief Longevity Officer Role
Welcome to the 60 and More Crowd Podcast I am your host Sue Plant, the founder, creator and producer of the Podcast! I am enjoying this new & interesting experience, and sharing it with the global listening audience.
This is the first season of The 60 and More Crowd Podcast. Here on the podcast we shine the spotlight on the many people in their 60's and 70's and more working longer, keeping work chapter in their life. I am a real person, embracing this path too! Because for many of us in the 60 and More Crowd community, work isn’t over - it's evolving. Keeping a work chapter for different reasons and in various capacities. Through months of learning and research, I have developed a solid understanding of the topic and a big picture look, globally.
In today's episode we are taking a look at how the workforce is shifting as many older workers are staying longer in the workforce- re-imaging how organizations will strategize to provide work environments to engage older workers- some forward thinking.
The workforce is shifting in ways we haven’t seen before. People are living longer, working longer, and expecting more from their careers. On the podcast, we take a big picture look at how the workforce is changing not only in North America but around the globe.
Two stats to set the stage: Statistics Canada reports that 23% of Canadians over 65 are still working. In the US, The Principal Financial Group research shows the fastest-growing segment of the labor force is age 75 and over.
We also look at how older workers are re-shaping the workforce. Older workers bring immense value and experience to organizations What are the future strategies/programs that organizations will need to implement to keep workers engaged and supported on the job.
This podcast is inspired on my experience of exploring new ways of working after leaving my longtime business role in Canada with a global organization. I became curious why not open the conversation and share the messaging with the fresh, modern approach- podcasting. Staying informed and kindly supporting people who are navigating this path. My entire career has been sales/marketing oriented, engaging with people, building networks and presenting information,
