Priya

Everyone to our very first episode of our new podcast called You Should Call My Sister. So my name is Priya Mistry and my two sisters are here with me. I am a TMJ dentist in Vancouver, Washington. I'm going to let them introduce themselves. All right.

Komal

Hi, I am Komal Patil Sisodia. I am an endocrinologist based out of Kirkland, Washington, I have been in practice for 15 years, excited to be doing this podcast with my sisters.

Neha

Hello, I am Neha Kumar and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I'm the youngest of the three and I live in Orange County, California. I've been in the mental health field for over 10 years and I'm excited to do this with my sisters. We don't get to see each other a lot so it's going to be good.

Priya

Why do you have to mention you're the youngest

Komal

I know, right?

Neha

I mean, I figure people would wanna know

Komal

That's that's true. Fair enough. I love

Neha

a fair, a fair effect,

Komal

It's very true. I'm the eldest of the three Preti. You are. I am the middle sister. So yeah, let's get into a little bit about why we're doing this podcast. How we came upon the name. I'll let you guys delve into that a little bit and I'll add in where I see necessary. Sure. That sounds good. Nae, you want to take that? Sure. Yeah. So the three of us have been missing each other a lot. So that's number one. This is an opportunity for us to sort of get to hang out. And riff a little bit, but then also given our specialties in terms of our careers, we've noticed that there's a lot of overlap with what we do. And in addition to that, I found myself, I have found myself over the last several years saying to individuals, I know whether it's close friends, acquaintances, colleagues, you should call my sister, whether if it's something endocrine related or if it's something dental or TMJ. Related. I'm always, always, always talking about you guys because you guys are the best at what you do. Yeah, well, you guys are just the best in my eyes, regardless. But I agree. I think that that's why we started it. And, over the years, because of being moms, because of working, because of just being in different geographic locations, we haven't really had the time to commit to space. So, spending with each other. And our kids are all different ages. Like my son is about to be 13. And the youngest. You're yours is the youngest. And she's. How old now? Three. Three. We're busy at different stages of motherhood, also trying to work on building our careers. And it just, this is really our commitment to each other to be able to spend time together in a way that we enjoy, where we can joke around and be ourselves and let our personality shine through. And then also talk about really topics that we find important to Neha's point with Things that we hear from our friends or colleagues or people that, people that we're just running into in random social situations. And it makes us think of each other and what we would bring to that conversation. Yeah, totally. I think that this is just the perfect title. We went through so many different names for this. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Like sisterhood of wellness, tripothecary of wellness. I mean, so many different. Yes, you guys can personal favorite was mental dental and elemental but you know, it's a mouthful. That didn't really work so well. We can call one of our episodes that week. Yeah, we will, we will, but like, I think what really. made you should call my sister stick for me was I've done that with two of my patients. So I had one who got diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and coma. Are you okay with me sharing? Oh, absolutely. Yeah. And I know you, you share that diagnosis with her and immediately, you know, she was very stressed. She was really upset because she just didn't know which medication she should take, what route she should go, what testing she should have done. And immediately I was like, you should call my sister. And we actually called you during her appointment and you were so chill and nice. And you picked up the phone and you talked to her for a bit. So that was one example. And the second one was, I had a patient who wants to become a marriage family therapist. And So I was like, you should call my sister and I got in touch with you, Neha. So it's like, I've used that line so much. And I feel like that's one thing that we all have in common and it's just catchy. Like you should call my sister. It sounds like a song. Yeah. Oh gosh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We're looking forward to delving into so many different topics, geared towards sisterhood and friendship and motherhood and then any medical, dental, mental health crossover that comes in between. So if you're listening and you have burning questions for us, don't hesitate to reach out through our socials or our website and let us know, what it is you want to hear from us. And in the meantime, we'll be coming up with topics to put forth in future episodes. Yeah, yeah, definitely reach out. We'll make a way for you guys to let us know what you'd like us to cover. Again, there's so much crossover and I know we didn't really touch upon specific things to this episode, but we will. And yeah, we look forward to seeing you guys all soon. So if you guys are heavy into the socials, like I am, you can find me on Instagram. I'm the underscore TMJ underscore doc. You can look that up like anywhere, YouTube, Instagram, Tik TOK, you'll be able to find me. And then you guys, I'd love to, for you to share your as well. Yeah, absolutely. So, Nae, you want to go first? Sure, yeah, so my website is sort of in the works, and I just started my Instagram handle, but it's prosandpsyche. com is the website, and like I said, it has actually yet to go public, but as far as my Instagram, I'm just starting to get a little bit more active on there, and it's Pros Dot and dot Psyche. So Yeah. And, and mine is at Reset Recharge, which is my Instagram handle. And if you go to reset recharge.com by the way, I said I think on one of my podcast episodes, I said www.resetrecharge.com and Hirsh made so much fun of me. Oh no, you're so old. Yeah. Nobody says www. And I was like, well, I still knew. I do, but okay to be young and hip now, since I'm the eldest of the three reset, recharge. com. And I focus on empowering women's metabolic health. I'm an endocrinologist by background, but I also specialize in obesity medicine and menopause care. Reach out. And we are excited to bring you our next episodes. See you all soon. Yeah. Bye. Bye. You
