The People Born of Tears: a tale from Ancient Egypt
First recorded on 22/12/22 in Sydney Australia to celebrate the Summer Solstice (longest day of year) and Europe's Winter Solstice (shortest day). Yet many of the ancient elders will tell us time is an illusion... what is real is change, like the passing of seasons. So I publish this on 31st March, 2025 to celebrate the illusion of time and the switching of clocks from standard Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) onto British Summer Time - giving us an extra hour of sun per day, via the simple mechanics of changing our clocks (even this is usually done automatically on digital devices)!
So I invite you to travel back across the millennia to hear the Ancient Egyptian creation story of how the Sun God created the first people.
Ra the Sun God created the first people. Ra was high in the sky in his solar boat (the sun) looking down upon the beauty of the newly formed Earth with abundant forests and oceans, majestic mountains. He was overcome with joy at the beauty of the Earth and tears welled at his eyes. These tears fell from his eyes to the earth as great fireballs, which hit the ground and scattered into many embers. These embers faded to become the first humans, born from the tears of Ra the Sun God at the beauty of the Earth.
