Hello! Welcome back to the Brighter
Chelsea:And My name is Chelsea,
BatSheva:And my whole life is
Chelsea:and my life is extremely brighter thanks to Batsheva.
BatSheva:We are so excited to welcome you to Episode 9. And we have so much to unpack with you. But before we go to the meat and potatoes of the episode, which is all about should we set goals or should we just go with the flow? We'll go ahead and take a few calming breaths just to relax and get centered and be present with, all of us together.
Chelsea:Wow. Such a simple practice, but I love it so much.
BatSheva:And our episode, as we mentioned, is about should we Get goals. We
Chelsea:But before we get started, let's talk about how much more clear and higher quality this episode is going to be. And that is because We had some goals to improve the quality of our, of the podcast for all of you. Wonderful, beautiful listeners. And so we're recruited a music producer to
BatSheva:And on that note, we did talk about something low last episode, which was the low point. In other words, that point that we hit
Chelsea:since the last episode just kind of talking about The low point and also about kind of incorporating this episode of what you know It means to set goals or to go with the flow and for me, it's really this year especially the
BatSheva:I love the description of the slowing down versus the all the time doing, which definitely was my MO as well for my entire life, until I would say right after the divorce. which speaking of a low point, as I mentioned in last episode was one of the pretty big low points. but also as you mentioned, this transition into being more supportive of yourself, of listening to your body and your mind and honoring the very deep intuition and inner workings of that inner wisdom.
Chelsea:That reminds me of Jim Carrey,
BatSheva:Wow. I love it. Exactly. Like,I actually was just listening to the Know Thyself podcast interview with Rainn Wilson from The Office, this actor, and he's talking about exactly that. You know, he spent his life chasing fame and fame and fame. And obviously, as we always hear, it doesn't make a difference if you're, Sad and jealous and feeling unworthy.
Chelsea:Oh my gosh, I love that. I, not that you were crying, but it's, yeah, it's a total different mindset to completely shift. And I've kind of been back and forth, like I said, taking the time out to really Pause and reflect or listen to my body, listen to my gut, listen to my heart and like what that is asking for versus, as you mentioned, achieving, or for me, it's like certifications or
BatSheva:Exactly, the karmic curriculum that we mentioned in that past episode, what is meant for us will come to us. And also you just mentioned this beautiful phrase aligned action, which honestly I think is the key to this whole episode because we kind of set our listeners up for a duality or should you set goals or should you go with the flow?
Chelsea:Yeah, for the right opportunity to come along for the next right step to present itself to become clear on what step to take next.
BatSheva:And Chelsea would always remind me, divine timing, divine timing. And sure enough, each freaking time. Often not even a day or two later, or it could be maybe a week or a month, something better would arrive fucking every time. Literally like from money that came from a direction that I was like, wait, what?
Chelsea:Yeah. I also like the idea, like riding the wave, but also like, you know, you're grasping onto something. It's like, Oh, like I want this, I want this, I want this. And then your hand is like so tight and it's like, okay, just release the grip, release that. Open your hand to receive what is meant for you.
BatSheva:it was inspired by actually Regina Thomas Hauer, Mama Gina, who we mentioned in the Daily W episode that she was our inspiration for that technique. I think on one of her Instagrams she shared something similar and so I adopted it and it's kick ass mantra. My timing is perfect and elegant.
Chelsea:Yeah. so many good takeaways that I want to like comment on all the things , in regards to the mantra that
BatSheva:I love that. And I could not agree with you more. And it totally fits with everything we said, because even in that moment when I let go and only went with the flow and stopped all my goals. That was beyond out of the comfort zone, like you said, because I had spent my whole life only using goals as a motivator and accomplishments and accolades only.
Chelsea:and she forgot to mention that our intro and outro music to the podcast is actually Girl Band USA as well. So if you are loving those tunes that bring you in
BatSheva:Well, thank you for bringing a tear to my eye because I did not expect your wish to be about me or my band so There you have it. You guys the power of just loving another person what that means is impossible to express. Thank you so much. By the way, we are playing in LA Friday February 28th at the MIT.
Chelsea:Until next time, continue to shine your light, making the world brighter and brighter.
BatSheva:Thank you. We love you. Bye.
