Meditation - Calm Your Busy Mind (in less than 10 minutes)
Today’s episode is a guided meditation designed to help you quickly hit pause on your busy mind and bring you back to the present moment.
During a stressful time, meditation has been scientifically proven to activate our parasympathetic nervous system. Which is really just a fancy way of saying, if we are stressed and in a ‘fight or flight’ mode it can help us to feel calmer and enter a rest and digest mode.
So while Meditation can’t magically remove all of the stressful things in our lives – it can help to make them feel a lot easier to cope with.
A lot of people will say to me Ash, I can’t meditate because my mind is too busy.
If you can relate to this feeling don’t worry, you’re not alone.
Studies show that almost 50% of the time our minds are thinking about something other than what we are currently doing.
And the good news for all of us with busy minds is that meditation isn’t actually about creating a completely blank mind.
It’s normal for thoughts to pop into your head during a meditation and I find that doing a guided one like this is a great way to use a meditation teachers as an anchor to keep coming back to.
