Welcome to the odd box. It's your GM, your beloved host, Tony. And I just want to say, if you've made it this far, if you started at episode one and you've made it all the way here, thank you. Thank you for sticking with us through the difficulties, the rules that we can't seem to rewrite read write, and my inability to speak. Through all of that, you've stuck with us, and from the bottom of our hearts, we would not be here without your encouragement and support. And so from here on out, these ones are for you. To be loved, to be feared, poisoning your opponents and dueling your friends. Madness creeping in that just makes a lot of sense. Chaos, so there can be order. Justice for none is equality. Sacrifices for the greater good. Is that the question? Who's my favorite villain?
SPEAKER_11I really like the uh I really like Dracula. It's it's uh Bram Stoker's Dracula is one of my favorite books of all time. Um but I love I love Dracula because he's like kind of a really terrible villain. Like he can't get on or off a boat unless the tide is changing, and he can't go out in the direct sun. And he like, you know, for all of his uh power and ability to persuade people, he's just like kind of, you know, he gets taken down by like four nerds in a carriage, you know, with a stake and a hacksaw, you know. So like I he very, very compelling uh idea of why it is that we should detest and you know not tolerate immortals. Um, but also he's just like he sucks at it. He's so terrible. But formidable yeah, I really like the Netflix Dracula.
SPEAKER_02I thought that was a really good villain. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That one was really good. The for Castlevania. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I really enjoyed those.
SPEAKER_02Sorry, I should have said Castlevania, not Netflix. Shame on me.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, and if you didn't know, if you're listening right now and you didn't know, just stop listening forever because you obviously aren't part of the crew, you know. I mean, don't stop listening. We need this. Um, I really like villains who are just kind of like a force of nature, like they almost don't have any choice in what they're doing. So, like the Anton Shigur character in No Country for Old Men, like there's nothing else he could really do with his life. He just has to go around and kill people. So um, I always I always like those ones.
SPEAKER_11I love that gas station scene. It's so good.
SPEAKER_10What's the most you ever lost on a coin tile?
SPEAKER_11He's so twisted up that this guy has a good life and he can't even try.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. Um, I also like villains who like uh have like their point is good, you know, whatever their moral compass is for it. So kind of like the Joker in the dark night, you know, everybody's got a plan. Truck full of kids blows up, it's a big deal. Truck full of soldiers blows up, nobody cares. You know, it's like I like those villains.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that makes me think of like Magneto, right? Like uh very towards your childhood, uh knows what it's like to be persecuted, grows up to be part of another persecuted community sort of thing, and it's like you know, we gotta strike before we're the ones getting hit.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, those are always good. Magneto's a great hole.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think I would agree with that. It's like people with a good a good reason to be a villain. Um so I I don't have anything specific. I guess I have a shitty answer, but yeah. That's it. I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Um I enjoyed Thanos, he was fun. I mean, why wouldn't you want to take out half the population? We're ruining this earth anyway.
SPEAKER_02Um the earth is gonna be fine. We're killing ourselves.
SPEAKER_08The earth is gonna be justified. Um but also I want to say I really love Hulk because he's a hero, but he's also a villain in his own sense.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, anti-hero.
SPEAKER_10Um I really so I was a big comic book fan as like a kid when I lived in a town where you could go to a comic book shop. And um, I was really offended that Thanos' primary motivation for killing everybody wasn't impressing death. Um, because I always thought that was a great story beat that he was just in love with a woman.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I actually I think the comic of the whole Infinity Gauntlet saga is way better than the movie. I like I liked all the movies and everything. Endgame is one of the best movies I think ever made. Like the it was a very good culmination and ending to that whole saga. But the comic was just awesome.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, and I just loved the idea that it was just a dude obsessed with a girl and he was willing to do whatever it took. You know.
SPEAKER_11I've got a good one. Uh, the sludge monster from Ferngully. Oh force of nature. Yeah. Uh Tim Curry. Tim Curry bringing making pollution sexy. Yeah, Tim Curry's awesome.
SPEAKER_08The name is Betty. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh who's the villain in King Kong?
SPEAKER_10The boat.
SPEAKER_01The boat. I don't remember that movie. Capitalism.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, capitalism. Capitalism. Capitalism was definitely the villain in King Kong.
SPEAKER_03No, 100%.
SPEAKER_11Those are really fun. I like the I like the overarching theme villains, where you know, George Orwell 1984, you know, it it is just corruption and yeah, power.
SPEAKER_10V for vendetta. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, King Kong. Man is truly the monster.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. They would have just left him alone. Nothing would have been nothing would have happened. Yeah. I had to put him on display.
SPEAKER_02Um bit of a niche answer here. I uh Avatar the Last Airbender. Great show. Love it. Uh The Legend of Quorra, not as good. I mostly blame the studio and like you get a season, you get four more, we're gonna cut you out like halfway through, sort of thing. But the uh villain of Zaheer. Yeah. Oh my god. I thought that guy, like his motivations, his reasoning, I like that the whole red lotus thing really sucked me into that show. Um, I thought Zaheer was a very well-written villain.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, it's sad that that that Nickelodeon messed up that show so bad because so many of the story beats in it are great.
SPEAKER_02Well, I heard that the new movie got like re uh leaked on Twitter or something, like the whole movie. So this like they keep dropping the ball on all the Avatar Studio stuff. It's so sad.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, which is sad because, like you said, the the Red Lotus that season was amazing. I know Courtney hated the PTSD piece of it, you know, maybe she just hated Korra, but uh I didn't like Korra, she annoyed the crap out of me.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, she sucks.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I loved though the you know, the her going through almost being murdered and everything and then not bouncing back right away, like a whole season of just being really fucked up and not being able to figure out how to do her job. Because I think that's what my life is like right now. Oh, dear Korra.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, but at least you make actual progress. Oh yeah. Like she's still she struggles with just basic shit.
SPEAKER_08She was just a brat, too. Just terrible attitude. She did not deserve to be the avatar.
SPEAKER_11She didn't deserve it.
SPEAKER_08She didn't deserve it.
SPEAKER_03I think it doesn't deserve and got nothing to do with it. Yeah, right. Yeah. I weirdly kind of liked Cora better. Boom. Okay. But it's because the the themes were more like adult. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I did like, you know, the ending of season one was really cool, very intense. You know, the whole amon, the way they went out. That was that was a good that was good stuff.
SPEAKER_10Goes out on the water with his brother.
SPEAKER_02Hey, no spoilers, man. The show's only been out for like 10 years.
SPEAKER_10Just shut him down.
SPEAKER_02Shame on his face right now.
SPEAKER_10Sorry, guys. Korra dies at the end. Korra dies. But don't worry, she comes back and then she dies again. She comes back as a cyborg. It's awesome. But she dies again. She does. And that's it. Would it be better to show clips of the giant robot than just be like this is her man as a then she goes back in time and then everything's normal after that.
SPEAKER_05Dang.
SPEAKER_10Although I think that the uh last whatever few episodes of the original Avatars, one of the best movies ever made.
SPEAKER_12Last two episodes?
SPEAKER_10Yeah. That movie was amazing.
SPEAKER_02Any other villains?
SPEAKER_11Oh, uh King Croc. Wow. Cause he's because he's adorable. Because he can't do it right.
SPEAKER_08Like he's he likes the stunted ones.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, he's the he's the mustache twirling. I do, I really do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Team Rocket, they're just trying to impress their boss. Blasting off again.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. And they just travel around the world homeless, sleeping in parks and stuff. With their cat, trying to steal one Pokemon.
SPEAKER_02I want to know why they've never expanded more on the fact that a Pokemon can learn to speak and like you know, it's a very sentient creature. Okay, fine. Just that one. Which makes it even more force them to fight each other.
SPEAKER_12Like, where's the line?
SPEAKER_10It makes it even more, right? Like you watch seasons of the show, there's one Pokemon that speaks English, and you're like, does nobody else think this is weird? It's perfectly normal, perfectly normal day.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. Um there's lots of great villains. There's um there's so much you know which one I'm a big fan of? Hmm. Kugopti. Kugopti is a dick.
SPEAKER_01I wish we knew more about Kugopti.
SPEAKER_10Darth Vader. I really like Darth Vader as a villain because he was just like uh I guess he's a little bit like Anton, but like he just is kind of like rudderless as a villain. You know, like at first he's doing a lot, like to, you know.
SPEAKER_02Well once he died, once Anakin dies, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, is that a spoiler?
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I think so. So, you know, he just spends like whatever the entire child the entire life of Luke Skywalker just being like an enforcer for no reason. He's just like, Yeah, I guess I'll go kill people because I was told to. I love the uh lack of faith disturbing.
SPEAKER_11I love the Jar Jar Binks as Darth Sidious. Yeah, I'm so disappointed.
SPEAKER_13You told me about that for the first time, and I laughed so hard. It's so great.
SPEAKER_11I love it so much. In my head, that's canon, and he's he is the best Star Wars villain.
SPEAKER_10Disney, if you're listening, life and I would like to rewrite uh episodes one through three. Um so would everybody just let us let us run with it. You know, we can just do Attack of the Clones. You can keep the other two and we'll fix it in Attack of the Clones.
SPEAKER_03The first one doesn't exist in my mind.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I mean it was kind of like I mean, it's almost like the new trilogy. Like the first one I didn't think was terrible. It wasn't good, but it wasn't, and it had Darth Maul in it, and that was pretty sick. But then the second one was so bad, and then the third one was pretty good. Well, I guess the new series, this third one wasn't pretty good.
SPEAKER_03Which new one are you talking about?
SPEAKER_02Because Yeah, we keep saying new one, and I keep thinking you said prequels.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the prequels, the very first prequel was the first prequel. Let's just call them by the episode's name. Yeah, okay. One one was the absolute worst. I thought Attack of the Clones was worse. No, you're wrong. I don't even remember anything about it. Uh I don't remember a lot of things. But one losing listeners by the second. One was the absolute worst. Like, most people will recommend to not even watch part one. Like it was it's completely uh inconsequential.
SPEAKER_10I'm gonna make the recommendation. Just watch um Revenge of the Sith, and then uh Rogue One, and then A New Hope, and then The Empire Strikes Back and just call it a day.
SPEAKER_03No, it's good. Like I've heard the Machete Order is what they call it, the order to watch it in, is you watch um four and five, so you get to the point where you see that This was on Big Bang Theory. Vader is Luke Skywalker's father, and then you go back and you watch two and three because you get because you get uh his whole Vader's whole flashback, yeah, which is basically like a long flashback, and then you watch Return of the Jedi and forget that eight, nine or seven, eight, and nine exist.
SPEAKER_02They're so bad. I don't understand how lightsaber fights got worse. Talk about true villains at Disney.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. Oh, when they blew up the Death Star again, I was ready to walk out of the theater.
SPEAKER_03Right. I don't even care about the light. I thought the lightsaber fights were at least cool. In my opinion, the lightsaber fights from the prequels were just over the top and flashy. Um, but the lightsaber fights from the newest series, uh what the fuck numbers are they? 7, 8, 9. They were just they were okay. They look like they're trying to trap down a tree.
SPEAKER_02Like they're not lightsaber fights.
SPEAKER_03But the whole damn thing was just garbage. So bad. It was supposed to be. Corny's so bored. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08You guys have your conversation. I'll be here when you're done.
SPEAKER_03It was a bad like retelling of the original three.
SPEAKER_02Corny and the other villains?
SPEAKER_08Uh no, I'm ready to play.
SPEAKER_02I like Kugopti as a villain. I like that uh, you know, we were talking about like a force of nature, right? And it's kind of like you can't have uh light without dark sort of thing. And if uh we're talking about forces of nature, Kugopti is a big one, and you are trapped by him. And because of that, you strive to keep Willishore hopeful, you strive to keep Willishore fed, and uh so you seek out old Matsuki to help you with a ritual. And it mostly goes well. And while the town is slurping down their soup, kapas arrive with a message from Mirror Lake. Your old friend Unko is in trouble and needs assistance with some aggressive vegetation.
SPEAKER_08Very aggressive.
SPEAKER_02So you hurriedly make your walk, abandoning your talent show plans to go fight for your lives against some rapacious vine monsters. What is the hero point situation?
SPEAKER_03Zero. Zero.
SPEAKER_08Zero.
SPEAKER_03You know, I think the audience really missed out missing that talent show.
SPEAKER_02It's not too late.
SPEAKER_03One.
SPEAKER_02You get a hero point. And man, how when was it last time we started an episode with a fight? I really don't remember.
SPEAKER_08Mid-fight?
SPEAKER_02Mid-fight. I'm bringing you guys back to the map where you have just slain one of these Arbual Reapers. I do love again that you guys typically don't want to waste any of your actions on recall knowledges. You'd rather chop shit down and ask questions later.
SPEAKER_08Our turn is just so precious, especially when you get knocked down or you're like, I lost half my health in the first round.
SPEAKER_03So plus our investigator died in like six episodes. Yeah, we can't remember the show. We tried that out, didn't work.
SPEAKER_08Don't ask questions.
SPEAKER_02So it is the ending of round three. That's right, round three. It's only been 18 seconds. And this Arrival Reaper is going to go. And it'll start by making a strike on Ari. Does it get flanking with Anko?
SPEAKER_05Whose side is he on?
SPEAKER_03He might have this might have been a whole ruse to get us looped here. 31 to hit.
SPEAKER_10Retributive strike.
SPEAKER_02Cool. Do you have your reaction? Yeah, I just had a turn.
SPEAKER_10You did.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, very recently.
SPEAKER_02It's a bullshit roll. I'm gonna take that one back. 19 points of bludgeoning damage.
SPEAKER_10Nine points of bludgeoning damage. God damn, I'm really didn't kick it off strong. Are you looking at the right character sheet? First of all, I'll have you know. That was it. That was the thing. Every time I've been here, I've looked at a character sheet. Okay. I'm glad you're just not making things up. There hasn't been a single time where I wasn't looking at paper. Bro. Bro. That's not how you say it. He's getting so sassy. 22 hit? No.
SPEAKER_08You know better than that.
SPEAKER_10I do. But I had to build a little drama. I put a bro in there.
SPEAKER_02Uh let's do a rude attack against Ari.
SPEAKER_08Rude attack?
SPEAKER_02Ari no. How lewd. Don't die. 30.
SPEAKER_08That's a hit.
SPEAKER_02Good callback, Jeff.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. The Jar Jar Binks. Fuck that guy. Like, why even make the villain of Snoke? Like they they built him up. This is what we're doing today.
SPEAKER_0217 points of bludgeoning damage. No payoff. Here comes the trip.
SPEAKER_10Success. They nuked that one as hard as possible.
SPEAKER_0233. 33 damage? Against the reflex save.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_02Knox you prone. And that is the Arbule Reaper's turn. So we'll go to Anko.
SPEAKER_13Maybe you can push him under my shell. I'll go crouch below his knees.
SPEAKER_03What does that even mean?
SPEAKER_13Push him over his shell?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_13I'm scared. Gardas poured something in my head bowl.
SPEAKER_08What'd you put in his head bowl, Gardas?
SPEAKER_09Booze.
SPEAKER_02That's what he wanted. And then we will go to the beginning of round four. This big tree will go. It'll step down just a little bit. This attack will be on Pops.
SPEAKER_11Ooh, reactive strike? Or is that leaving?
SPEAKER_03Is it even within your range? Yeah. How far can you next to him?
SPEAKER_02No, it wasn't. No.
SPEAKER_11No, it wasn't, because he's got reach. Yeah. Never mind.
SPEAKER_02How big is the creature? It's taking away. Okay, so this is where it was before. Yeah. What is Pops' reach?
SPEAKER_10It's just five. Is he only because it looks like he's right next to him? I don't think so. Oh, yeah. Don't look at the art. So he's huge size, not gigantic or whatever. Whatever.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Anyways, he only moved five feet, so we could call that a step, which wouldn't trigger reactions in the first place. Yeah. This attack is on Pops. Bring it. Squares. Squares. 31. Hit. Where am I? 13 points of bludgeoning damage.
SPEAKER_11And just fine.
SPEAKER_02Here comes the trip. Oh wait, no, I can't. That's the wrong attack. Another branch attack against Pops. 24. That's a miss. Then we will go to Pops' turn. Okay. He's Le tired.
SPEAKER_11He is Le Tired.
SPEAKER_02Who's tired? Pops is tired.
SPEAKER_06Pops is fatigued too.
SPEAKER_11Oh. I get it. Okay, so Pops is going to shuffle out onto the ice. And that's one action. And then I'm going to spark transcendence on Titan Breaker. Who needs health? Um. Jeff, do you need health? Jeff does. Yeah. I'll give you the 16 of the Radiant. Alright. I'm going to shift my eminence over into Thousand League Sandals, and here comes the Big Bonk.
SPEAKER_02Big Monk.
SPEAKER_11That is a natural 19. Whoa.
SPEAKER_02That's going to be a crit.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, it is. For a uh 38 bonk.
SPEAKER_08Holy crap, poly.
SPEAKER_11That's a crit. Crit money?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it is. Okay. And this was on your spark transcendence swing? Yep. This is gonna be bad.
SPEAKER_11Ooh, good damage. Okay, so that is You better not say 11. No, 12 plus. 19 plus uh 22 for uh 41. Doubled.
SPEAKER_08Times two.
SPEAKER_11Times two is eighty-two bunk.
SPEAKER_10Does it do the thing where it drives him into the ground? Oh yeah, that's right in the ice into the water.
SPEAKER_02You're gonna root this bitch. I think he's resistant to bludgeoning damage. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Nobody cares at this point. You can still drive him into the ground.
SPEAKER_11That's where trees are supposed to be here. They have to be standing over dirt or stone. So I'm gonna give that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10I mean, he is over dirt, it's just there's a little water in between.
SPEAKER_08How far down did he go? Because maybe he's just on the lake floor.
SPEAKER_02So, first of all, he went from uninjured, not touched at all, to uh near death. Extremely hurt. Uh and why not? Let's let's have him crack the ice a little bit. I'm not gonna say he's um I'm not gonna give you the mechanical b benefits of uh immobilized or anything like that, but uh he's uh he's definitely driven down into the into the ice a bit.
SPEAKER_10And they're real close to the shore. It's not like he wouldn't be able to just stand there.
SPEAKER_02Well, and that's the other thing, too, is like his branches are still above the water, which is what he's swinging with. So but uh let's Let's just focus on the 77 points of damage. Monster head.
SPEAKER_11Big old bone.
SPEAKER_02So that was a move and a two-ash and swing.
SPEAKER_11Yes, sir. That's it.
SPEAKER_02Damn. Ari.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Ari is going to cast fly on herself, and she's going to start flying. Can I do that from prone? Why not? Okay, perfect.
SPEAKER_02Superman flies prone.
SPEAKER_08Superman's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_10Just when I think you can't top yourself, you go and say something like that. Am I wrong?
SPEAKER_08So she's going to fly up and um away. So she's going up and away. Up up and away. Let's go um northwest. She'll probably be about 10 feet off the ground.
SPEAKER_02Do that little homelander swim maneuver through the air. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08And that is her turn.
SPEAKER_11I have to lay down before I take off every time.
SPEAKER_10It's the only way it works. It's embarrassing to land. That's why he always lands somewhere else and runs out from behind the corner.
SPEAKER_02My pants get drug off every time.
SPEAKER_10Every time. Red. Red's turn. And he's quickened to still still quickened. Red's gonna take a How long does quicken last? I think it's just right. He's gonna take a little jaunty jog over to where he can hit everybody. That's important to him. He likes being able to hit people.
SPEAKER_02So you can whirl whirlwind around and hit, you know, all the trees and pops and box.
SPEAKER_10All the trees and pops and box. And then wait, maybe I'll Dr. Seuss. Would I be flanking right there? No. What about right there?
SPEAKER_02Who with what?
SPEAKER_08No, it's worse.
SPEAKER_10I meant for the guy at the bottom for Uncle. You don't know how flanking works? I know, you gotta draw a line through him.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you have to be down into the left one.
SPEAKER_10Okay, I'm gonna so I'm gonna move. I'm gonna command box to attack the uh the angry one with Unko. And I'm going to take a stab at each one of them. And so which one first? The angry one at the south first with Unko. That we're flanking, right? Natural 19 for a 36.
SPEAKER_08You could have gotten um Vox into flanking first.
SPEAKER_03That wouldn't give him flanking though.
SPEAKER_08With this one to the south, 36 is a hit.
SPEAKER_03Okay. It would have been a crit if you were flanking.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. Sorry, guys. Um 17 points of slashing damage. Nice. Okay. And then I'm gonna slash at the giant cypress or whatever it is that's splashing around a little bit now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I like that. We'll call it a cypress.
SPEAKER_10Okay. It's not.
SPEAKER_08His name's Cyrus.
SPEAKER_10Cyrus the Cypress of Rafiki's tree. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's what I was trying to come up with.
SPEAKER_10It's definitely like that kind of name of that tree starts with a B. It's um bitch.
SPEAKER_08Bastard.
SPEAKER_10Boobab. Boabab. Boabab. Boa Boabab.
SPEAKER_08You're making that up.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I was wrong. Yeah, you were wrong. Right here. I was right though. Okay. Use the internet. Stab the Boabab. Not allowed to. I like saying stab the Boabab. Oh. That may or may not play. I don't know what it is, but um it's uh 23. Boabab. I don't think that's actually a Boabab tree, though. 23 hits. Oh, sick.
SPEAKER_08Nice.
SPEAKER_11Maybe it's a young one.
SPEAKER_10Eight points of slashing damage on the Boabab. It's not a Cypress either. It's definitely not a cypress. It's some type of deciduous tree. A locust, perhaps?
SPEAKER_02Uh, was that all four?
SPEAKER_10That's all four, so Violet's gonna run up to the Grouchy temple appreciate appreciator. He appreciates those temples. And I like them, I like them grouchy. Big old stone work. Um 29.
SPEAKER_0229's a hit.
SPEAKER_10And baby Violet does 12 points of piercing damage. Nice. Seven points.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Red and Vox are also a force of nature. We will go to Gardas. Okay. Who is a force of alcohol.
SPEAKER_03I think I am going to just kind of stay over here and cast something. Where'd it go? No, no, not that. That's it. Spiritual armament. Um so basically two actions. I sort of like it looks like I'm drawing my axe or not my axe, but the tenderizer. Yeah, but it's like made of light instead. So it's my hammer, but it's made of light, and I throw it at the big cypress tree. Or bobo tree. Or whatever we were calling it.
SPEAKER_10I've already forgotten.
SPEAKER_05Bobab.
SPEAKER_03Boobab.
SPEAKER_02Boobab.
SPEAKER_03Oh man.
SPEAKER_02Natural one.
SPEAKER_03That might hit twenty. Okay. Twenty-four. Wait. Yeah, twenty-four to hit. Twenty-four. Final answer.
SPEAKER_02Can someone check his math?
SPEAKER_03Absolutely, I'll check it. 24 is a hit. Nice. Good job. Uh so that does 2d8 damage. What kind of damage? Uh your um magical light hammer damage.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, sorry. That's a very specific.
SPEAKER_03It's the same ah, damn it. It's the same as the type of weapon you choose. So bludgeoning? Yeah, bludgeoning. So it is 12 bludgeoning uh damage.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_08Why'd you throw light at it, Gardas? Shut up!
SPEAKER_09Should've thrown an axe. If you do the axe there.
SPEAKER_03I don't have an axe. Uh run here. And run here. Runs to the south. Hides behind Vox. Hide behind the dinosaur. Actually, I was gonna oh well. I did it already.
SPEAKER_08Come on. Oh, it's Arborel's turn.
SPEAKER_02It is my turn, and this attack will be on Vox. That's my baby!
SPEAKER_1034.
SPEAKER_08Oof.
SPEAKER_10Is a 34 hit?
SPEAKER_08Yes, it's a crit.
SPEAKER_10That's a crit.
SPEAKER_02Oof. I like this. Ooh, that's a 10. I like that. And a six.
SPEAKER_08Vox no!
SPEAKER_02Don't you dare kill Violet. 54 points of bludgeoning damage. Holy shit. Retributive strike. For Vox so she doesn't go down.
SPEAKER_10Oh, 18 on dice for um what does 18 and 17 work out to be? 35? That's a hit. And 16 points of slashing damage.
SPEAKER_02Alright.
SPEAKER_08How much health does Vox have?
SPEAKER_10110.
SPEAKER_08Holy crap. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Holy crap. Well she's healthier than me. I gotta get to work then. Second attack on Vox.
SPEAKER_08Oh no.
SPEAKER_02Natural 20.
SPEAKER_08Oh, come on.
SPEAKER_10That's a miss. Baby violent. No. She's immune to crits. She's immune to crits. That's a. She's a ooze.
SPEAKER_08She's an ooze. We didn't know this, but.
SPEAKER_10Oh my god.
SPEAKER_08We just found out.
SPEAKER_10We just found out last episode she's a Bach and Echo. Now we know she's a Bach and Echo with Ooze. That's crazy. Uh 72 points of legending damage. Oh god. Vox is down. Wounded one, dying one.
SPEAKER_02Uh that's a crit, right?
SPEAKER_10Yeah, oh dying two. Maybe Violet. No!
SPEAKER_03So does Vox change the order?
SPEAKER_02No, I don't think so. No, he doesn't heal for dying then. It'll just be on his turn.
SPEAKER_03Oof.
SPEAKER_10Because then you go before I can heal her.
SPEAKER_08I guess she's dead.
SPEAKER_10My screen just went dark.
SPEAKER_02That's why you have that one selected. If you choose, oh, you should be able to choose red and have it be normal. Be normal.
SPEAKER_08He's so angry he can't see right now. How dare you! Now you take a barbarian. I already lost her once! Barbarian dip just because he's mad.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, barbarian dip. You heard it. I love me a barbarian dip.
SPEAKER_08What flavor is that?
SPEAKER_10Barbecue.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay. Almost certainly.
SPEAKER_02No, it's spite. It's spite flavored. Burnt barbecue. And then it's gonna launch a thorn at Ari. Thorn attack. Maximum map.
SPEAKER_08She tries to dodge it in the air.
SPEAKER_0224.
SPEAKER_08That is exactly a hit.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy. Your AC sucks.
SPEAKER_08It does.
SPEAKER_02Uh, so you are going to take. Oh, that's not persistent.
SPEAKER_10If baby vox gets a little bigger, she can wear heavy barding, and then I'll have better AC than you.
SPEAKER_0220 points of piercing damage.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02And four points of bleed damage. And despite what it's doing to the temple, the arboreal looks especially satisfied after that turn.
SPEAKER_13And then Anka will go, I'll go over here. I will try and take it down. I haven't leveled up since a do you know what to die?
SPEAKER_12Anko's a G! He's just messing stuff up. Hell or high water, he is effective. That is a hit.
SPEAKER_08What is he using? His hands? Okay.
SPEAKER_02Slashing. Yeah. It comes to. Oh, they don't. Yep.
SPEAKER_10Hey, if he went over one square, wouldn't he be off wouldn't he be flanking with me and Box?
SPEAKER_08Box is down. Just let it be. She's a non-contender at this point.
SPEAKER_02He does four points of damage. Yay.
SPEAKER_08Four points of damage. On a crit? Did he crit? No, he did not crit.
SPEAKER_02It was a 19 on the die. He's lucky he hit it all.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_02Then we will go to round five. This is a big turn for this Arborel Reaper down south. You'll find out why if he gets a turn. But this awakened tree.
SPEAKER_05Goo Gop D.
SPEAKER_02Stop saying that.
SPEAKER_05Won't let you go.
SPEAKER_02Got no choice in the matter. Um, and it'll swing on Pops. He's in a hole. 30. That's a hit. 19 points of bludgeoning damage. Okay. Um second attack. Root spring out of the ice from beneath you. Oh, that might play 29.
SPEAKER_11That's a hit.
SPEAKER_02Cool. Then it comes to Oh, max damage. 18 points of bludgeoning damage. Okay. And then the trip. This is against your reflex DC, and it is going to be a whopping 20.
SPEAKER_11That is a miss by a lot.
SPEAKER_02Does not get you with the trip, so we will go to your turn. Okie dokie. Are you calculating your minus one to your AC? Yes, I am. Thank you, sir. Finish him.
SPEAKER_11Okay, here we go. We're gonna we're gonna swing on him.
SPEAKER_05No, don't do that.
SPEAKER_09He's gonna make a new club out of your bones. Yukogopti has to learn his lesson.
SPEAKER_11Prepare yourself, you poor poplar. Oh there's some obliteration in there. It's uh only a five on dice. 24. That's a hit? Yeah. Hey. Okay, here comes the Dimage.
SPEAKER_03That one's the weak one.
SPEAKER_1112 plus 12 is. Oh, yeah, he's dead.
SPEAKER_02I think your minimum damage is more than his remaining eight hit points, so paste. Okay.
SPEAKER_11You finish putting him in the ice. Yes. Your club just shatters him into toothpicks. So that's one action. We're gonna run down. And we're going to flank with Unko. And we're gonna swing again. That is a natural two for a 21 miss. And that's my turn.
SPEAKER_02Then we'll go to flying Ari. We can take your prone off, because uh you can't really be prone in the air unless you're Superman.
SPEAKER_08I thought that I was flying like Superman. Uh Ari is going to cast a second level Soothe on Vox. 20 healing. And she has a plus two status bonus to mental effects for a minute, I think. Uh, and then Ari is going to start playing her drums, and she um is playing Dirge of Doom, and she's like, the end is near cower in fear, and the remaining arboreal reaper is a furred.
SPEAKER_11He's a furred. I just imagine that in the sort of cadence of Papa Roach.
SPEAKER_08That's my turn.
SPEAKER_03I definitely heard an emo scream after. Am I bleeding? No, it was just bleed damage.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_03When you do flying, I know with like normal flying, you have to move on your turn with the spell flying, do you?
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_08Oh.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, otherwise you fall out of the air.
SPEAKER_08So then instead of the uh dirge of doom, she's going to fly. She's gonna fall 10 feet. Fuck you, Gardas. Uh I like rules. She's gonna go back in a round and kind of try to be in between these trees to get some cover. Is that okay?
SPEAKER_03So I don't have my plus AC anymore.
SPEAKER_08Is this spot okay? To kind of get some cover. Okay. Because she's really hurt.
SPEAKER_02Good job, Jeff. You're welcome.
SPEAKER_08You have not had the bonus to AC since like round two.
SPEAKER_02Oh. To be fair, it's only round five.
SPEAKER_10Red? Red is gonna tell Baby Violet, you've done enough, kid. Go keep Ari safe. And he's gonna give her lay on hands. So she'll uh get some 18 hit points back. Um and uh when it's her turn, she'll bug her off. And then um I'm gonna attack twice. So what's this guy called? Arboreal Reaper?
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_10Here it comes.
SPEAKER_02Did you move? Like, don't you have three actions left after lay on hands? Oh, command. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
SPEAKER_10I rolled a natural one. No. There's been a change, ladies and gentlemen, to the play. The change is that rather than Tony just breaking our weapon every time, he's decided to go back to the critical fumble decks.
SPEAKER_03Let's break my weapon every time.
SPEAKER_10Jeff's weapon every time. If somebody else critically fails, Jeff's weapon breaks. Well, I just lie about all my rolls, so I never roll one.
SPEAKER_02You have some creeping hesitation and you are flat footed until the end of your next turn.
SPEAKER_10Ooh, bad news bears for me.
SPEAKER_02Off guard.
SPEAKER_10Swing number two.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_10It's an old deck. 26.
SPEAKER_02Because of Anko, that's a hit.
SPEAKER_10Um 14 points of slashing damage. And because Violet's got enough actions to get back to Ari, I think she's gonna take a You have to spend one to stand up. Oh yeah, that's right. Never mind. So I'll stand up, which will have to be.
SPEAKER_02I wasn't even looking, I just knew you forgot that.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. So I stand up so I'm no longer prone. And then I'm gonna take off back towards Ari at uh 25 feet so I can hang out. Be safe. And that is the turn for red and box.
SPEAKER_02Then we'll go to our cleric, our most pious member. That's what they call me.
SPEAKER_10Most spiritual, most devoted. Uh can't have a conversation without the guy with the guy without him bringing up Taurag.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm gonna cast holy light. Uh my tattoos will start to glow, and I'll point my hands at him. Torag, come on. Fuck this tree. Like it's doing to this temple. Yeah. Uh 26. Wait, no, it's more than that. It's more than it's like 29.
SPEAKER_08It doesn't matter. It's like a 26.
SPEAKER_0331. 26 is not a hit. 31. Really? Really? 31 is though. Yeah. I can't add. It was 15 on the dice plus my spell attack is 14 plus uh 2 for her heroism. So that hits. You just said that. It is going to be. Hey Jeff. It's a hit.
SPEAKER_08Thanks.
SPEAKER_03You hit a beautiful bean footage. Now you run dice to do damage. Fire damage. I'm gonna light this bitch on fire.
SPEAKER_08Fire.
SPEAKER_11Ooh. Got to have fire now.
SPEAKER_03Holy light. Oh. Eleven.
SPEAKER_06So sad.
SPEAKER_03Twelve. Twelve points of fire damage. Is this tree unholy?
SPEAKER_08Looks like the way that he's treating that temple.
SPEAKER_03Anyway. Um. So yeah, a giant beam of light erupts from my hands and just zrrrrrrr goes straight through him and lights him on fire.
SPEAKER_02It is a tree. It is not an unholy tree, apparently.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah. So it lights him on fire. Um he's on fire? Mm-hmm. Well, no. Okay. He's fire damage. It's flavor fire. Fire. Not flavor on fire. Flavor fire. And then I guess I'll just move here. Alright. Finish my turn. Anybody around me can touch me if they want.
SPEAKER_02Well, he's gonna try and touch you.
SPEAKER_03Not him, not him.
SPEAKER_02Because his leech moisture ability has finally recharged. I need Gardas to give me a basic fortitude save.
SPEAKER_03Oh. You chose the wrong person for this. Do I have any pluses to Nope.
SPEAKER_08You made me move. Alright, I get giving you a bonus anyway, but.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, natural 20. Moisture is so sad. I think you'd actually make me wet a little bit. It would be the first time. 39. It doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_02Success on a basic save is unaffected. I imagine that like recharges in two rounds.
SPEAKER_10He's like trying to get a root up out of the ground and Gardas just kind of steps to the side like it's a really un like you know, undra. What's the word I'm looking for? It's not scary at all.
SPEAKER_02He poured some drink on it. So it's not his moisture and he's like, oh my god, I'm not alcoholic.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, his body is just alcoholic. Right in a treatment.
SPEAKER_08It cringes.
SPEAKER_03How did you let that hit you?
SPEAKER_06What?
SPEAKER_08I can hear you.
SPEAKER_03The wind.
SPEAKER_08The wind's too strong up here. Ten feet in the air.
SPEAKER_02This attack will be on red. Uh branch attack. 22. This attack will be on Gardas. Branch attack.
SPEAKER_03Was your moisture thing two actions?
SPEAKER_02Shut up, okay? Just shut the fuck up, Jeff. Alright. The flying thing was helpful.
SPEAKER_03Nobody likes it. We'll go to Ungo. I've gotten to quote a lot of rules in this play. Unco rolls a natural twin.
SPEAKER_02Ungo Fred. That is insane. That is just the most ridiculous thing. Get him, Uncle. Um, here's the damage. Unko's the best. Four more uh eight points of damage. And then he's gonna take a step back. I I think I made it mad. Take a step back. Where the hell are you going? I'll stand over here then. What are you gonna do there? He's got reach. Yeah, and then he spends his last action giving himself reach. Oh, okay. Well.
SPEAKER_03Never mind, that's fine.
SPEAKER_02Pulling his arm through his shell. So one side is short, the other side is long. Coppas are weird little creatures. Yeah. We will go to the beginning of round six. That's right. It's been 36 seconds. Pops.
SPEAKER_11Okay. Uh here comes Look how mad this guy looks.
SPEAKER_02Alright, that's really his emotion right now.
SPEAKER_05Just leave me to my temple. I'm busy.
SPEAKER_11I'm gonna I'm gonna spark Transcendence on Thousand League Sandals. I'm gonna stay right where I'm at, but uh either Gardasaur red can move on.
SPEAKER_10You know, you can just move it. You don't have to spark it if you don't want to.
SPEAKER_11Okay.
SPEAKER_02In case you wanted to spark it on something else.
SPEAKER_11Well, it's just uh it's well then what's the point of bouncing it around? Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um isn't an action to move it, right?
SPEAKER_11I said what I said. Cool. Um okay, so here comes the bonk. And I shifted over to uh Titanbreaker. That is a six on dice for a 25.
SPEAKER_02With flanking, that's a hit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_11Okay, here comes Ooh, low damage roll. He's still he's not gonna last the turn. 19 damage.
SPEAKER_0214 points of damage.
SPEAKER_11And we're gonna swing again. 12 on dice for a um 20. I'm sorry, 31.
SPEAKER_02Is that with your pay?
SPEAKER_11Minus five is uh twenty-six.
SPEAKER_02Still a hit with flanking.
SPEAKER_11He's not gonna get another.
SPEAKER_02Well that's what I thought it was gonna be like the same number because of the map.
SPEAKER_11Oh, that's better damage. Uh 22 damage. And uh going for a number three. Why not? That is uh 15 on dice, so minus 10. That turns into a 24.
SPEAKER_02That's a miss. Okay.
SPEAKER_11That was close though. That was close.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Almost three hits. Yeah. How is he still alive? Ari. Oh, he's near death.
SPEAKER_08He is near death.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Ari is going to do him of healing on herself, so she'll get eight hit points back, fast heal, and then uh eight temporary hit points.
SPEAKER_03Ari, we we softened him up for you.
SPEAKER_08And then she's like, I can't hit him from back here. This tree's in the way. She'll do rallying anthem, which is 60 foot uh rate uh emanation, and plus one to AC saves and resist two physical damage. Get him, guys!
SPEAKER_02Red loses his flat-footed condition.
SPEAKER_08Woo!
SPEAKER_10Um, I'm gonna need a reflex save. From who? From the tree. Bring it home.
SPEAKER_02Pretty good roll. 34.
SPEAKER_10Oh, pickles. Critical success. So nothing happens. And then I'm gonna take two attacks. Here we go. Attack number one. 17 on the dice. Nice for a 31.
SPEAKER_02That's a hit.
SPEAKER_1016 points of damage.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_10And then my second attack and last action. Natural 20. Wow.
SPEAKER_03It's dead. He's toast. There's no way he's gonna survive this.
SPEAKER_10Good damage, too. Um, 36 points of damage. Yeah, and there he goes.
SPEAKER_02And we are out of turn order as Red slays this viny creature.
SPEAKER_03Chop him up, Red.
SPEAKER_10Okay. It's really hard to hit him over top of you guys now that I'm so much smaller. Yeah, this was easier before. Getting between the legs like that felt that spicy.
SPEAKER_13Thank the lake you were able to kill him. Unko, are you okay? I think so. How does my shell look?
SPEAKER_10Handsome as always. How does it look?
SPEAKER_13Did you it's fine. Okay.
SPEAKER_10Totally fine.
SPEAKER_13Did you see me fuck him up? Yeah, that's great. Yeah. I think I almost took him down by myself. You did. You connected real good. I'm glad you he were here to take the other two.
SPEAKER_03Ari flies over.
SPEAKER_08Ohri flies over. She actually would have uh fallen the last round, so it'd have taken five damage, which was from my from my temporary hit points, and then she will continue her him of healing for the rest of the turn. So she's just like singing as she comes over. Just hang on, guys, I gotta finish this.
SPEAKER_10Um go your uh friends, friends that uh Gord Lake uh sent us up here. They they were worried about it.
SPEAKER_03I got my message. Yeah. Good. Message in a bottle. I thought it was gonna be more of a magical message. I don't know magic.
SPEAKER_13I uh I got claws and friends like pops.
SPEAKER_08And one long arm that you can stick in and out.
SPEAKER_13I can fix that's gross, by the way.
SPEAKER_08Get more difficult to do that as you get older.
SPEAKER_13Don't talk about my age. It's rude. Come on, Ari.
SPEAKER_08So do you want to stay here at the lake?
SPEAKER_13Or it's not as soft as it used to be, but it's my home. Oh, come with you. Why?
SPEAKER_03Are you kidnapping me? We probably should. No, he shouldn't say run tops. You agree with me, right? He shouldn't stay here.
SPEAKER_11Unko is his own person and can make his own decisions.
SPEAKER_03Goddamn. Decision is wrong. Like he literally just asked us up here to help him because these trees were gonna kill him.
SPEAKER_10Are there any other trees that you've uh had encounters with? Is this all the all the bad stuff going on?
SPEAKER_13This is all that I've seen. Okay. I haven't heard them talking about Kugopti before.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, that's a problem.
SPEAKER_13It was scary.
SPEAKER_10All right, that guy's a dick.
SPEAKER_03We we trapped him butt beneath the Sugi tree.
SPEAKER_10He's again forever. Well, he's retrapped in a minescape.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he'll we'll be fine. And what I'm gonna do is who knows what he's doing in the real world. You need to. That is, I never thought of that. I was saying we trapped him in the minescape.
SPEAKER_13I've been reading a lot of books from the monastery. That we took all of them.
SPEAKER_10Hey, Anko. Yes, would you mind taking care of something for me?
SPEAKER_13What's up, dude?
SPEAKER_10We told uh Rui that we'd bury your bones next time you go to the monastery.
SPEAKER_13She's the one bringing me the books.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, next time you go to the monastery, would you do that?
SPEAKER_13Why would I go to the monastery?
SPEAKER_10Oh, she's been bringing them to you? Sorry, I missed that part.
SPEAKER_13She seems a little angry. Okay, well, when this is all said and done, we should do that.
SPEAKER_04I'm sure we'll take care of that later. Yeah, yeah. Nobody forget. Put a bow on your finger.
SPEAKER_01Sorry.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I'll go.
SPEAKER_10I'll go. Will you at least apologize to her and tell her we didn't forget, and we'll be back as soon as we get everybody saved.
SPEAKER_13You're gonna save everyone and then forget.
SPEAKER_03Got it. Yeah. Also, take a torch and just burn down this forest. No, don't do that.
SPEAKER_10No, don't say don't burn down the forest. That seems unwise. We had a whole conversation with trees about being uh unkind to nature.
SPEAKER_13So did they talk about Kugopti too?
SPEAKER_10No, these ones didn't. They were actually mad at us. Uh, not because of Kugopti, but because of our own actions.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, what did you do to piss these trees off?
SPEAKER_13They didn't like that I was reading about the monastery.
SPEAKER_03Well, then maybe you should stop doing that.
SPEAKER_13You don't want me to read books?
SPEAKER_03I thought you were illiterate. Well, okay, answer me this. Um copas can't read.
SPEAKER_02I thought you said they got my message and brought it to you on written words. We just went through the magical message. You said that before, but we're disappointed that it wasn't already.
SPEAKER_04I've already had that. You've got a level of cognitive dissonance right now that's not reflective of reality.
SPEAKER_13Scardis has cognitive dissonance.
SPEAKER_03So you're not coming with us.
SPEAKER_13Do I have to?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_13Then I'm gonna stay in my not-soft lake. All right. You're gonna die out here. Yeah, we might hope so.
SPEAKER_02It's my home. Everyone should die at home.
SPEAKER_08We might not be able to come back and save you if something like this happens again. So just be careful, okay?
SPEAKER_13Yeah. Thank you.
SPEAKER_08Maybe you should create a tunnel that you can get out if you need to.
SPEAKER_13Secret tunnel. Yes.
SPEAKER_11Throwback. It was good to see you again, Uncle.
SPEAKER_02He walks up and like hugs you around the thigh.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, Unko, you're always a G.
SPEAKER_02Your shell looks like garbage.
SPEAKER_08That was rude. Maybe ghosts that I hate you. Natural 20.
SPEAKER_01It's an 18 on the deck.
SPEAKER_12For a 28. Uh, somehow that's a mess. Is it a mess? No. Somehow.
SPEAKER_02He got you. Three points of slashing damage. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08You deserve that. And then he gets healed because he touched Gardis.
SPEAKER_02Now, what the hell, man? For some reason, I just know that my cop brethren don't like you either. They do.
SPEAKER_03They gave us uh trees for security.
SPEAKER_13You or the people of Willow Shore.
SPEAKER_03All of us. We've been mending broken bridges.
SPEAKER_08That Gardis broke.
SPEAKER_03That's neither here nor there.
SPEAKER_13Would you guys like to come into my lake? It is a bit nippy, but we can have some. Sorry. I have some raw fish down there. We're just gonna go.
SPEAKER_09I would love some raw fish.
SPEAKER_07If I went into that lake right now, I would die.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, we're gonna go.
SPEAKER_03Box could do it. Um walking down the trail. Leaving Uncle behind. Bye, Uncle. Bye, Uncle. Why do you have to hit me like that? Because you deserved it.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, you were being a dick, man.
SPEAKER_08He's a kappa. You're always so rude.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, to the all the kappas have ever done is be cool to us. That's not true at all. I think it is. They attacked me.
SPEAKER_02Because you had it coming. You guys make the quick trip back to Willowshore, and it is dark out now by the time you make it back. There are a few lanterns lit, but uh for the most part it's quiet, and this is not new. Uh Willow Shore has been getting quieter and quieter all the time as the winter really sets in and the storm has picked up. People do not want to be out, uh, especially with how cold it gets at night. You guys gain one reputation point with the kapas for saving Anko.
SPEAKER_08So we're we at 13.
SPEAKER_02I've got 13 on the 13. Yep. I have two hero points right here. Everyone roll a d20. It will go to the highest and the lowest roll.
SPEAKER_11Oh, natural 20.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna be in good shape for this one.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Nine.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you don't want middle ones. I always in the middle. That would have been good, but I got a 19. One. A one and a 20. To the co-field hero points.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_08It's rigged. It's all rigged.
SPEAKER_02Willow shore, though quiet, a couple people you do see stumbling home drunk. You don't hear word of any talent show, but there was definitely some sort of drinking going on. There's no coppas to be seen. You hope that they will report to you maybe in the morning.
SPEAKER_08Does the town look more hopeful?
SPEAKER_02Did all of our effort pay off? As you make it back to the cerulean boar, I only heard it when they were almost done. I didn't see who it was. You see Yami there, just morose. She leads you back behind the cerulean boar. And someone has very obviously sabotaged the kiln. The back end is just like caved in. Ugh.
SPEAKER_08This is so rude.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we were tired on that. Wait, wait a second, though. Like, who would sabotage this yummy? You said you didn't see anything? It was a person.
SPEAKER_02They were tall and skinny and they were hooded. When I hissed at them, they ran off.
SPEAKER_10Tall, skinny person. Did they have a face or no face?
SPEAKER_02They were hooded.
SPEAKER_10Okay, well.
SPEAKER_03Like, we're doing this to save the town. Who would who would sabotage this ritual? Someone who doesn't want the town saved. Unko. No, it's not Unko. Like, we were just with him.
SPEAKER_11That's yeah.
SPEAKER_07So he's not tall and skinny.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, that too. Who do we know that's tall and skinny? Um, I used to be tall and skinny. Wait. Could you call James?
SPEAKER_09I know somebody who's tall and skinny. Who do you know? Um Jojo. I don't think he would have done it. It's not even his name. I know it's not. But you know who I'm talking about. I do, I do know what you're talking about. I don't know. Then you tell me what it was.
SPEAKER_04Joey Welly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09I mean, he was the champion for Granny Who, and she's not been real happy about the way everybody's doing everything. And he was tall and skinny, is tall and skinny.
SPEAKER_08I thought he was like muscular and handsome and he's not that good looking.
SPEAKER_09I mean, he's a pretty handsome guy. He's striking. He's the on the eyes, you know.
SPEAKER_03But I I don't know. When you say that, that's the only person who comes to mind.
SPEAKER_08I don't think he'd do something like that. Can I do a perception check to see if there's any clues?
SPEAKER_03Clues. Sure. Yeah, I I want to do that also to look at the clock.
SPEAKER_08Um 26.
SPEAKER_0330.
SPEAKER_02Ari, this kiln made of clay and stone has just been like kicked in, toppled in, bashed in. Gardas, you're actually able to find humanoid footprints leading in and out of uh of your backyard.
SPEAKER_03Can we how far do they can we follow them, or does it just like end up?
SPEAKER_02As soon as they get back to the back to the stone street, they disappear.
SPEAKER_08What do they look like? They look like boots?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they look like human boots. What size? Uh seven.
SPEAKER_02So tall, skinny man with very small feet. Are you looking at them and they're very clearly like you know, 11s or 12s, but Gardas has size problems.
SPEAKER_08Is there like a brand name? Like printed out. Adidas.
SPEAKER_10The people of Willow Shore carve their names into the bottom of their shoes. Andy. Yeah. Alright, guys. I don't know that we can do a lot with this right now. I think what we do is we go to sleep and we get up in the morning and we fix the kiln and then we fire this thing off because we gotta get out of here.
SPEAKER_03Well, why didn't you guys build it stronger?
SPEAKER_10Well, I don't know if you know this, but I'm not exactly tr trained in air quotes in crafting, you know? Like I don't know how to make things that good.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it would have been nice if I could have had somebody to help me that knew anything about crafting at all, but instead they were sleeping on it.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, somebody decided to take a long nap.
SPEAKER_03So Yeah, and I got visited by ghosts and didn't even feel rested.
SPEAKER_08Exactly. You should have just helped me.
SPEAKER_03Like that. Just like that. Mm-hmm. What he's drunk again. I guess so. He's drunk.
SPEAKER_08Okay, well.
SPEAKER_03Yami, aren't you supposed to know what's going on around here?
SPEAKER_08This isn't her fault.
SPEAKER_03Bad bad kitty.
SPEAKER_02I'm not a cut, and I'm the one who told you! And uh uh produce flame on Gardas.
SPEAKER_07You deserve that.
SPEAKER_02It's a hard miss.
SPEAKER_03Like it singes a little bit of my hair. Ah shit, Yami, come on. I'm just messing with you.
SPEAKER_10Full arched. Nails out. Yeah. Alright, let's go, let's get some sleep.
SPEAKER_07Guess I'll go to bed.
SPEAKER_10Work on the kiln and tomorrow.
SPEAKER_07This is very upsetting.
SPEAKER_10I blame Gardas. What the how?
SPEAKER_07Me too. Let's go to bed.
SPEAKER_10Whatever.
SPEAKER_02You guys are all visited by the ghost of a very sad-looking woman.
SPEAKER_07It was her.
SPEAKER_02She gently wakes you up and you look around and you see familiar faces, but it kind of goes by in a blur. No one gets a long rest.
SPEAKER_07God damn it.
SPEAKER_10Am I fatigued now? Everyone's fatigued. Or still fatigued. Still fatigued.
SPEAKER_07A little too close to home for me.
SPEAKER_02No spells, no hit points back. Just a night filled with fear.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I touched myself quite a bit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Jeff, we ask you to stop doing that at the table. We are considering this a public space. Gardas did it.
SPEAKER_03Not me.
SPEAKER_08I'm the real victim here. I have to sit right next to him.
SPEAKER_03See this hand right here? This is Gardas's hand.
SPEAKER_08It doesn't hold up in court and you know it. Gardas, stop.
SPEAKER_11You have to sit next to him. I have to sit across from him. He's in the line of fire. Whoa.
SPEAKER_03Damn. Anyway. It happened again.
SPEAKER_08Had a wet dream?
SPEAKER_03No, what the hell?
SPEAKER_11It appears that we might all be haunted.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we're I don't know. We need to cleanse this place. Should we even be living at the tea house? We seem to get haunted by quite a lot of ghosts here.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, like I was saying, I think this entire town is an old graveyard, everything here. I mean, technically.
SPEAKER_04Oh man, you got me there. Because of the Mindscape situation, us all being dead and everything.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. 115 years.
SPEAKER_10Alright. How many times do you think we made these clay pots already? You think we've got this far before, or do you think this is the furthest one? Didn't he say this was the furthest we've ever gotten? I think so.
SPEAKER_03No, something like it was something like You said it was different this time. Yeah, Shinzo. Something like that. Anyways.
SPEAKER_08Um make me breakfast, Cardis.
SPEAKER_03Sure.
SPEAKER_08She's like wrapped up in a blanket. She's not doing well. She didn't know I get her sleep.
SPEAKER_10I'm gonna crank this fire up. We're gonna make it cozy in here.
SPEAKER_11Maybe we need to revisit the graveyard debacle.
SPEAKER_10What graveyard debacle? We did what we could. Well, maybe there's more to do. Okay, well, why don't we do the pots thing first and then we can do the graveyard.
SPEAKER_08Gardas and I can work on the kiln and you guys can go talk to Elizabeth.
SPEAKER_10I'm a little concerned that if we split up that an angry ghost will kill Pops. I'm not so worried about me.
SPEAKER_04I don't mind running from a fight, but Pops really likes getting after it.
SPEAKER_05Maybe we're not worried about me. I'll get the fuck out of there.
SPEAKER_04Pops doesn't give up, so he's in trouble.
SPEAKER_08He just wants to introduce himself, get their name.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he's gonna be all like, hey, my name's Pops, what's your name?
SPEAKER_08And then they're gonna be like, I'm gonna eat your grandmother.
SPEAKER_04It'll be weird.
SPEAKER_08Well, I need to do something to get my sleep. I can't go into this ritual and not.
SPEAKER_10Okay, you guys work on the pots. Pops and I will go to the cemetery. Are you saying pots? What? Yeah, he thinks that the kiln has pots in it.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Yeah. Not like the flour, but like cooking pots. That's what I thought. Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's how what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_09Like clay jars. Mm-hmm.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00They're pots. Right.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Everybody knows what I'm talking about. Sure. Okay.
SPEAKER_08Thanks for the breakfast. Let's get to work. So maybe we'll go ask for Yong's help again?
SPEAKER_02Yep, no problem.
SPEAKER_08And uh fixes it up. Perfect.
SPEAKER_02Does it in an afternoon?
SPEAKER_08Oh, he he like fixes the whole thing?
SPEAKER_02In an afternoon, no problem. You're pretty good at this.
SPEAKER_08He didn't have to do anything. No.
SPEAKER_02You like had to hand him, you know, the plaster shovel fork thing. What's that called? Yeah. You like hand him tools. A trowel. Thank you, trowel. I knew I could count on you. I was looking at you, but your head was down. Shovel Fork. Shovel Fork.
SPEAKER_10Cement shovel fork. You guys know what I'm talking about. I had to go through an entire. I had to go through the whole catalog.
SPEAKER_08It like popped in my head right before you or right before you said it. It just was too slow.
SPEAKER_10Alright, me and Pops go to the cemetery.
SPEAKER_02Uh, there's a sad-looking ghost. Oh. Honty. Okay. Standing right in the middle of it with her back to you.
SPEAKER_11Hey, girly. We're very sorry that we did so poorly last time.
SPEAKER_10We tried really hard. Gardas almost died, but we're just we don't. It's the communication gap's big. Can you talk by the way?
SPEAKER_02When you say Gardas, her face turns from sad to rage. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.
SPEAKER_08It's a good thing he didn't come.
SPEAKER_02Whoa. And like unnatural too. It's not like a human face anymore. It's like too twisted to be human. Just the embodiment of anger.
SPEAKER_10Okay, but we're here to help. We're here to help. Just tell us what we'll take care of it. She points to a grave. Alright. Are we digging again? Here we go.
SPEAKER_03Pops gets down again and looks at her. Is this what she wants?
SPEAKER_11No, we brought shovels this time. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Redcons. Redcogs.
SPEAKER_11We brought shovels to the grave, yeah.
SPEAKER_10Three or four kinds.
SPEAKER_03Every time I go to visit the grave of my grandparents, I bring a shovel. Yeah, yeah. This time we brought a four-inch pickaxe and a digging bar and a trenching shovel and a regular spade. Kubota.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, yeah, and a Kubota. So we get too busy digging.
SPEAKER_02You dig and dig and dig, and after six feet, give me an athletics check. So good at fucking athletics. Rather than adjust, give me uh add a plus two for your shovels. Because I don't want to adjust DCs.
SPEAKER_1126.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_11I rolled a natural two. Plus two for four plus athletics 19 for 23.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, DC 24. You are fatigued. I guess you already were fatigued, so no harm, no foul. Hard work. There's nothing here. But she's still standing over you patiently.
SPEAKER_10Okay. Is this a thing where we're supposed to just lay down and die in here? Like, I'm tired. Can you just tell me what we're supposed to be doing?
SPEAKER_03I think she wants you to put the bones that we found in there. Which bones?
SPEAKER_10Where are your bones at? Your bones? Can you point us to your bones? Tears begin to stream from her eyes.
SPEAKER_11Okay, okay. I'll be right back. And I just like fire off like the wind back towards the Yeah, Kyle, can you do that math for me?
SPEAKER_02If he can move 150 feet every six seconds, what's the uh miles per hour there? No problem.
SPEAKER_10I got you, boo.
SPEAKER_02He takes off at one.
SPEAKER_10Hundred and fifty feet every six seconds. So in a minute, that would be 1,500 feet. So in an hour, that would be 90,000 feet. And so we're going to divide that by 5,280, and we should end up with about 17 miles an hour. So he could make it slower than you saying bold. Yeah. But I mean, you know, if he can sustain that, he can get across town and back in a very short period of time. Sure. We're only a mile away. You break an ankle when you, you know, turn around on the your weapon is broken. So it's just me and the Huntie hanging out at the grave.
SPEAKER_11They're gonna turn me into glue.
SPEAKER_10So the whole however many minutes it takes him to get there and back, uh, I'm just like sitting on the edge of this grave that we've dug with my short little legs hanging over the edge, and I'm just like, well, this has been weird, huh?
SPEAKER_08Come here often.
SPEAKER_02Do you know that this has been going on for 115 years? She like reaches up to her head and just yanks out a chunk of hair.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I feel that. Yeah. Where where are you going? Gardas. Gardis, I need the bones.
SPEAKER_03I dumped them out of the bag at the cemetery. I thought we just buried them all together in a pile. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_11Did we at least mark the spot? It was dark. It was so dark.
SPEAKER_03Do you want some fish bones? I think we might have some of Violet's bones in here too. And uh in the walls, actually.
SPEAKER_11And uh before uh Gardas even finishes the sentence, pops is right back out the door.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, wait, here I found them. Just kidding. Yeah, no, we we had dumped all those bones out of the cemetery.
SPEAKER_11Alright, well then we uh I go I go back to red and I'm like, uh we gotta we gotta find the bone pile.
SPEAKER_04What do you mean we gotta find? I thought you just went to get the bones.
SPEAKER_02Well as you come back, she points again towards your hole.
SPEAKER_10Well, I think we just keep digging, man. Let's just keep digging. Okay. Let's dig some more. We get a couple feet down. Maybe it's one of those things like you hide a deer carcass on top of a human carcass. As those six feet is the normal depth, but then it turns out that there's actually a body under the deer carcass, and it's a human. We're gonna go another three feet.
SPEAKER_02As you hit another three feet, you hit something. I knew it.
SPEAKER_10I fucking knew it.
SPEAKER_11Nine foot graves.
SPEAKER_10Nine foot graves. I'm this is my trick. Every time I've had to get rid of a body, I put a deer on top of it. Some people dig a little bit at the deer and they think like, oh, this isn't a problem. Okay, we uh we uncover the clunking.
SPEAKER_02Excavate a small chest that's no more than two feet wide, sort of thing. It's Jumanji. Small wooden chest. Don't oddly well preserved. Don't put that on me. Don't put that on me. We're already inside of Mindscape.
SPEAKER_04Okay, we don't need another magical. You don't need a Jumanji. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yes, please plot twist.
SPEAKER_04Levels inside of levels. And uh What year is it?
SPEAKER_11Pops looks up at the ghost and and he says, Um, shall we open it?
SPEAKER_02Um, and she slowly nods, and you've never seen this much emotion on what is uh emotion ghost, essentially. She is just crying uncontrollably.
SPEAKER_10And do you want us to pick it up out of here so you can see it better? She's just crying. Okay, let's pick it up out of here. I feel like she deserves the you know whatever the fuck this is. So we pick it up. We open it.
SPEAKER_02You find a small infant skeleton inside. Yeah, I fucking knew it. Right on top of like a pillow, blanket. Some fucked up bullshit. And a uh small, rusty necklace. Just kind of not on the skeleton, but like beside it.
SPEAKER_10Was this your baby?
SPEAKER_02She's just sobbing. Inconsolable, uncommunicative, morose.
SPEAKER_10Yep, makes sense. What are we supposed to do with this?
SPEAKER_11I have no clue. Take it with you. I don't want to take it with me.
SPEAKER_10This baby deserves to be buried. It already was.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but it wasn't bury her with us when we it was buried suspiciously deep, you know, nine feet.
SPEAKER_10They were trying to hide this body underneath another body. Pops.
SPEAKER_11That's what's happening there. Uh Pops points at the necklace and is looking at the ghost. I just pick it up.
SPEAKER_02And it like it starts breaking apart in your hands. It's so rusted, it's so old. Oh. Uh, so like you pick it up and it like f literally falls through your fingers, and so you like pick it up again gingerly. And uh, yeah, it seems to be like an old locket. It's you know, the back end is already like falling off. Whatever picture may have been inside is beyond recognition.
SPEAKER_06This is little Robert. B Thart.
SPEAKER_10Uh Rob baby baby baby bob. Babythart. Baby Thart. Baby B Thart.
SPEAKER_11Baby B Thart. Uh Pops picks up the casket and all the while, like making eye contact with the ghost, he starts to like walk one way, waiting for a response.
SPEAKER_03She was the crystal guide.
SPEAKER_02Walks over and she gestures to three different graves, indicating where her bones are most likely spread out.
SPEAKER_10Alright, you want us to put the baby with you? Oh, yeah. That's what we're doing. She stops crying. Alright, get a shovel. Okay. Here we go. Just shoveling away. At least this ground is soft. You know. I think I found a femur. Is it your femur?
SPEAKER_11Pretty close to the top.
SPEAKER_02All night long until you were able to satisfy this ghost. Oh. You guys gain one hope point.
SPEAKER_08Cardi, should we go check on them? They've been gone all day.
SPEAKER_02Why? Uh Kyle Life. Uh roll a D20, highest number gets a hero point.
SPEAKER_11How many buttons does a foot need? Twelve. Oh.
SPEAKER_03Sweet. That's the deserving one, anyway.
SPEAKER_02It's been two days since the kiln has been re-completed.
SPEAKER_03Did we get a full night's rest?
SPEAKER_06Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Are the ghosts still there? Secret roll.
SPEAKER_02You do not get a full night's rest.
SPEAKER_07Aww man. This sucks.
SPEAKER_11Guess I'm going back to the graveyard. No, I'm not in the same auntie.
SPEAKER_02I am really tired, says Yami. I've been keeping guard over the kiln. I didn't feel like you guys would smart enough to set your own guard. I really didn't want to go through this a second time, even though it's very likely if there was no guard, it would definitely happen.
SPEAKER_04You know what, Yami.
SPEAKER_02It's weird that you weren't more suspicious.
SPEAKER_04You know what, Yami, over and over and over again, you just keep exceeding expectations.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go to bed.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, you do that.
SPEAKER_02Fireball produce flame on the fireplace.
SPEAKER_10She's gonna get good at that and it's gonna be a problem. Alright, guys. What do you say we load up in this kiln, see what happens?
SPEAKER_03I mean, we're not gonna have a good chance of doing this being all fatigued, right? Well, it's only AC and saves.
SPEAKER_07I mean, it's been days since we've had a full night's rest. Right. If we put longer than.
SPEAKER_10I have an idea. I have an idea, guys.
SPEAKER_07Yes?
SPEAKER_10What do you say you crank out one of those hot tubs? I can't. I have to rest. Oh.
SPEAKER_08You should have prepared it after you rested the first time.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, that was short-sighted. Shorts. Oh, hey, you know what? We got a shop in town. Can we buy a scroll for it? Uh I don't know. Probably not.
SPEAKER_03But there's two different shops that sell scrolls. It's a high level spell. I don't know if you knew this, but I'm a powerful wizard. How high of a level? Yeah, tomato tomato. It's closer to a wizard than a cleric. I just use Toreg for the spells.
SPEAKER_08Cardis, go buy me a hot tub. And then we can go burn ourselves alive and go to the real world.
SPEAKER_10Isn't it just a fourth level?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's a fourth level. What do you mean, just? Can't we do that here? Seems like a lot.
SPEAKER_08It doesn't look like you're buying me a hot tub right now.
SPEAKER_03Fine, let's go burn ourselves alive while we're so tired.
SPEAKER_10We're not gonna get the scroll? No. It's only 70 gold. I don't care. And we could all be unfatigued for the trip.
SPEAKER_11It seems like maybe a good idea.
SPEAKER_03You know, it would be a good idea if we could get a full night's rest. But that's not gonna happen.
SPEAKER_08Well, if sure is only level six, right?
SPEAKER_10Oh, so we would need a level eight or whatever to buy a level four. Probably.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Good thinking. That's why you're the yak.
SPEAKER_08I went shopping for the hot tub and I couldn't find it.
SPEAKER_04Oh. Alright.
SPEAKER_08But I feel like it's here. Just Gardas would have been able to pick it out better than me. I don't really know what I'm looking for. I'm very frustrated.
SPEAKER_10It's a hole in the ground filled with hot water. What else do you let's just go get in the fire pit. I'm ready for this. Come on.
SPEAKER_08Are you guys making a big deal out of this, or are you like bringing people around town to I think we're we would tell people because it's I I feel like they should know anytime that we're planning on leaving, and we've been building up to this for a while. Especially Matsuki. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Because he yeah, they've been helping us out with all the cost and the rituals and stuff.
SPEAKER_02It'd be really hard for you to encase yourselves in this as well. Yeah. You know, someone could help everyone, and then someone's kind of left out sort of tickets.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, we'll just have Yami do Ari at the very end.
SPEAKER_02She's got the smallest one to Elizabeth is there, old Matsuki is there. And, you know, there's probably three dozen people invested in this ritual. Yang is there, he wants to see how his kiln fires.
SPEAKER_10Hey, real quick, guys, before we get in this, any of you guys able to cast soothing spring?
SPEAKER_02They all look at each other. Is that like a sex thing? No. Casting time. Four hours. Cost Heron feathers, incense, and especially prepared Sakaki wood. Two secondary casters, primary check. Occultism or religion? Secondary checks Crafting Nature Society or Willowshore Lore.
SPEAKER_10I'm real good at religion.
SPEAKER_02Targets the PCs. Duration one month. A slain creature whose soul became trapped between life and death in the Willowshore Mindscape can't escape either back to life or into the afterlife. With the use of this ritual, you can temporarily came out weird, right?
SPEAKER_08Temporarily.
SPEAKER_02You can temporarily transmigrate out of the minescape to appear in the living world in a solid body made of ectoplasm, where you can exist for a short time in a hazy area between life and death.
SPEAKER_03Are we ready? I've never been more ready. To cast transmigrate. Oh boy. To light ourselves on fire, more like. What do you have an occult, Ari?
SPEAKER_08I'm only 16. I don't want to be the primary caster.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so that means you can be the primary caster then. I don't want to. Okay. So then my religion is 14 for the secondary, or crafting would be 13.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, and I've got religion 14 and nature 14.
SPEAKER_02Wait, what are you doing just secondary? Secondary? Yeah. What were you choosing as your skill? Didn't you say religion, crafting, or other stuff? No. Primary is occultism or religion. And then secondary is crafting, nature, society, or willow shore lore. I have 13 and crafting.
SPEAKER_10What do you got, Ari?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08I have 15. I also have ritual lore that I took to hopefully be able to use for this. It's still a 15, but it is a lore, so my I don't know if it makes any difference. The DC's still the DC.
SPEAKER_03Uh what have you got out of those? Life?
SPEAKER_11I've got nature 14, religion 14, and crafting 13.
SPEAKER_03Then nature 14, right?
SPEAKER_02There's only two secondary casters. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's we're determining what the highest is. So Courtney's would be 15, Life's would be 14, mine would be 13, so it's them. Gardas is gonna sit out, there's ritual. Kyle can do two, right? I can do two, actually. I thought you I thought you have two of the secondary. Oh, the primary. Let's go read. Do you even? Oh my god, could you do the whole thing by yourself?
SPEAKER_01Watch this.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I don't know how it reads. Uh ritualist. Flexible. You can perform two aspects of the ritual yourself. When you uh cast a ritual, you can reduce the number of secondary casters by one. When you do, you must fulfill any requirements that they had and attempt the secondary check uh normally performed by that caster. Uh you can replace the secondary caster who is the target of the spell. So I can roll. Yeah, so you can do the primary and one of the second ones. So me and Ari can carry the whole thing.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but what would your secondary role be?
SPEAKER_10What were the options again? Sorry, Tony.
SPEAKER_02Crafting, nature, society, will of shore lore.
SPEAKER_08I don't feel like you have anything good for the secondary.
unknownSure.
SPEAKER_11I can do okay.
SPEAKER_10I can do 15 for nature.
SPEAKER_11That's still better than the other question is does Ari have a hero point?
SPEAKER_08No. That's one of the reasons I did not want to be the primary caster.
SPEAKER_11So maybe I should do the secondary.
SPEAKER_10Oh, yeah. If life is the secondary, he's got hero points. Wow, we are getting deep into the meta now.
SPEAKER_08We don't want to fail this.
SPEAKER_10Okay. Alright. So I'll take one of the secondaries. Life takes a secondary, and then I take the primary.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_10Red's time to shine. Six weeks of burning colours. So second secondary is plus fourteen.
SPEAKER_02You guys get into this kiln. You are clu covered in essentially a clay sarcophagus. Straws are placed inside to allow breathing, and then the sarcophagi are covered in heron feathers. All within this giant kiln that you and Yonk built. And then, like a forge, they light it. Fire begins engulfing all of you. Oh shit. I'm getting kind of freaked out. Pops, give me that secondary check. What's your skill?
SPEAKER_10Nature. It is getting hot.
SPEAKER_11Nature irreligion. Really fast.
SPEAKER_10I'm getting freaked out here. I thought this would be uh more gentle.
SPEAKER_11Hero point could be both. That's a natural one. Oh my god. Oh, that would have been fun. I'm sweating in real life. It feels like natural 20.
SPEAKER_02Best hero point ever. Talk about a swing. That is a plus two to the primary check, but we're still on the secondary checks.
SPEAKER_10Okay. Second secondary. Here we go.
SPEAKER_03How many hero points do you have?
SPEAKER_10One. Natural 20.
SPEAKER_02So you will have a plus two to this primary check.
SPEAKER_00Come on, guy. Come on.
SPEAKER_10Natural 18? Yes. Hero point is heroin. Hero point.
SPEAKER_01Hero point.
SPEAKER_10We need those actually two. Okay. Natural 18 plus religion of 16 for uh 34. Plus two for uh the rituals, uh 36, plus two for the two critical successes for a 38.
SPEAKER_03Wow, that is by far the best we've ever done on a ritual.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna fudge this a little bit. A 39 would have been a critical success. Oh my god. I'm gonna give it to you. Because that was so awesome.
SPEAKER_08Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02The clay begins to crack and you feel a shift.
SPEAKER_08As we're screaming.
SPEAKER_02No remains. No. It kind of feels good. It gets war. Yes. It gets warm and it gets a little stifling. The air gets a little thin, but you are not burned. Matter of fact, first of all, you get a hope point. You also get a plus one status bonus. Something what you know to be a very real and tangible success. Something is just not quite right. You guys all benefit from a long rest. And you feel groggy. You don't know how much time has passed. And then you hear the dissident screaming of red. Just going on as if he's being burned alive all the while. A booming deep laugh that kind of shakes the foundation. You guys are slowly picking yourself off the floor in this strange stone room. Two wooden sliding doors have the ends of this drab thirty by sixty-foot stone-walled chamber. The wooden doors are ornately carved with the depictions of a misshapen giant brutally bludgeoning people to death. Despite the relatively smooth walls and ceilings, the stone floor is crisscrossed with shallow gashes. In the centre of the chamber is a ritual altar covered in incense, candles, and other crucivals. If you are trained or better in arcana arcana or occultism, please roll to recall knowledge.
SPEAKER_08I rolled a three, so 19.
SPEAKER_02Nothing. This is a weird ass place. Something's going on, guys. I don't like it. You look around and you don't see red either, but you do see someone else familiar. Ari. Whose house is this?
SPEAKER_08She'll run over and hug her.
SPEAKER_02She looks just as she did the day she died. Bipedal, intelligent, and I don't know, is she wearing clothes? Butt naked. But that's normal.
SPEAKER_07I missed you so much.
SPEAKER_04What the fuck happened?
SPEAKER_08Oh my gosh, so much. I don't have time to tell you right now. Have you seen red?
SPEAKER_02The lights begin to flicker and you hear unsettling whispers begin to fill the air. These voices are mocking you, decreeing that you've abandoned Willow Shore, that you've left them behind for the living world.
SPEAKER_08What do you mean? Hello? Who's there?
SPEAKER_09Maybe they weren't talking to us. Maybe they were talking to somebody else.
SPEAKER_08Is Red still screaming?
SPEAKER_09You don't hear it anymore.
SPEAKER_11Hello. Is that Red talking? My name is Boss. What is your name?
SPEAKER_03Okay, I guess nothing.
SPEAKER_11Um I'm talking to the giant lizard. Oh you've never met.
SPEAKER_04Oh, hi. Um I'm Violet.
SPEAKER_11Oh, yes, I've heard of you. Yep. How do you think you came to be here with us?
SPEAKER_04You know? This is all a little fuzzy.
SPEAKER_11I would bet.
SPEAKER_09Violet, you kinda sound like Red.
SPEAKER_08Are he's going to do a perception check on the tables?
SPEAKER_02For initiative.
SPEAKER_03Twenty-six. Twenty-seven. Twenty-sex.
SPEAKER_02guys begin to call out these names and swings open and a massive creature steps inside. He has an elongated neck he carries a sickle and seems to carry a giant hay bale on his back.
SPEAKER_07What are you doing with that?
SPEAKER_02He has like a Fu Manchu mustache and the chains go from the sickle and wrap around his arms. What's the uh Krisurigama I believe is what it's called. We've seen these before had one. You see the bundle disappear just vanishes off of his back and will swing it's Kursurigama. First on Ari.
SPEAKER_08Of course it's tradition.
SPEAKER_03Why are you standing so close to it? Ari, look out 33?
SPEAKER_08I did say I ran over to hug Violet.
SPEAKER_02Um yeah you always want to move yourself. Go ahead everyone put yourself where you are on the map. Okay here we go hang on. There we go.
SPEAKER_10Fix it no problems didn't even need to wreck on a thing.
SPEAKER_0233 you said that is a hit five points of mental damage 20 points of slashing damage and without losing a step he continues to charge south kind of sidestepping box there. And this will be a bite attack on the pops okay 38 that is a criteria strike what what do I do Red get your ass in here 32 points of piercing damage and six points of mental damage and his bundle is gone and for his last action the chain of the Cursorgama still wrapped around Ari.
SPEAKER_08He's gonna try and trip her success so this guy opened the door walked in hit Ari ran through attack pops and now he's doing something else.
SPEAKER_02So he has six actions super cool okay he's super cool he's also is he not an initiative so he just goes whenever yeah oh yeah you guys can't see him because they were invisible when the uh map came on so I can add that natural 20 yep at least it was just a trip four points of damage plus the do I get five from the crit success from tripping didn't we do this earlier? It's a d6 and I rolled four okay just take your four damage and move on.
SPEAKER_08I'm confused I thought that when you tripped someone took extra damage it's the d6 I can told it got it for the trip.
SPEAKER_02Okay and that is his turn Ari goes prone and we are in the sauce you guys see a light begin to flicker over the altar on the west side of the room it's small no larger than a tennis ball and it's just kind of twirling there. You guys seem a little out of touch a little disconnected from yourselves in this moment but I do want to ask is this the guy is this the same image that's on the door of the like disfigured giant okay also is this red it's red it might be red yeah um I don't know what to do here.
SPEAKER_08So I guess I'll start by standing up is this still thing still around me my leg? No okay that was just flavor. She's like free me no um not again just laying across her foot help me out stand up and then she will start um with dirge of doom so she'll play her drums and the creature will be frightened one and she will move a little bit farther back is he's still within 30 feet. Yeah yeah just move a little bit farther back not wanting to go in front of the door and hoping that Violet will protect her as she did so many times before.
SPEAKER_11Pops okay here comes the bonk yep I'm gonna spark Transcendence on Titanbreaker and shift that over into Thousand League Sandals. Here comes the swing 12 on dice plus 19 for 31 plus one for 32 that's a hit so here comes the Demog so that's 38 damage not a bad hit and then I'm gonna swing again this thing's so scary.
SPEAKER_03Uh that's an eight minus five is three for a twenty twenty-three that is a mess and that's my turn uh then we'll go to Gardas' turn so do we waste time like trying to check out this ritual table stuff I really have a feeling that we should okay so we could also try to do some um checks some knowledge rolls on him yeah that might help us figure out what we need to do okay I am going to first of all take one swing with my axe maybe this guy is like a tree he's a little rapey as all trees as trees are unless my spread their pollen around willy nilly all will and they don't even care about where it goes you get it whether you like it or not it's probably gonna miss 24 to hit. That's a miss. Yeah so then I am going to run over here and like start checking out this ritual table like sp uh almost specifically the light that's on top of it I feel like that's some sort of uh it's gotta be something so I I think I want to just look more closely at the ritual table to find something that might help us with this. Cool. So probably perception. Sure that's not gonna be good.
SPEAKER_0221 Uh there's I mean it's definitely a ritual table right you see the incense the candles all that other stuff the portal flickering in and out of existence is very intriguing but definitely too small for anyone to travel through what about like a hand to fit through try it.
SPEAKER_03It's going to be kink kink for you or is that I mean it's a legit question.
SPEAKER_10I don't have any actions left yeah it's like the size of a tennis ball so you could you know put a couple fingers through at least yeah I don't think your dwarf hand is the size of a tennis ball what can you fit in there Gardas more than a couple fingers Violet sorry that'll be a hard transition I'll have to change your name that's okay grown ass adult Violet charges naked no weapon naked no weapon guess who's back bites you have no weapon no he just said naked did you get my text message I did okay he chose to ignore it no no no it's fine it's fine we'll figure it out we'll figure it out do you um hunt prey or anything is that a thing that your character just don't worry about it okay sorry sorry trying to help you out you know um so that's uh 34 to bite 34 is a bite yeah that works okay and then uh eight points of bite damage oh cute uh so that's two actions and then I'm gonna make another strike and attempt to grab oh no so this is against my 42 DC well the the bite first is if the bite hits then he just grabs so are you a never mind do your I think I know what you are don't worry about it um oh no I know what you are I know what you are I can do some math you real quick 30 to bite again that's a bite alright he is grabbed does it do damage yeah okay five points of damage cute but grabbed and deferred so Violet's all just wrapped up on this guy arms and legs and tail and teeth Ari come come look at this table the door to the south swings open and you see two more of these creatures standing there though they are dramatically smaller they are just intimidating and they shed their bundles to charge into the room coming straight for Pops and Gardest and we fade in black anymore um everybody good on everything? The library's very chocolate already? Sure. Okay
