SPEAKER_06

Standing on the precipice of holy moly, give me more guacamole, eating some water and drinking the meat, not giving a damn about what blocks the waterways, just wishing for one wish, but too afraid to wish for it. Or just a little lost, but don't want to be found unless you too also enjoy a little dark humor. Welcome to the odd box. What is your best moment you've ever had in nature?

SPEAKER_03

Best moment in nature?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we did one that was what's your worst a while ago. I want to know what your best was.

SPEAKER_04

I met an orca one time. That was pretty cool.

SPEAKER_06

That is cool. Shake hands, like do a fist bump.

SPEAKER_04

No, he's uh it was an adolescent. He swam right up to the boat, and we got a really, really good look at him. Um super crazy powerful. Um, just a sight of nature.

SPEAKER_06

He tried to take down the boat. That's been going on. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Thankfully not. No, he was just curious. Uh, but definitely like the definitely like the moms and dads that were you know 200 feet away or whatever, they could have fucked us up. They're huge, just so powerful. How big is your boat? Uh, it was a 30-foot cat. That's take cats out in the water. What kind of cat? Catamaran. Persian. Where did you get this cat?

SPEAKER_01

I'd be curious too if I was an orca.

SPEAKER_03

Caterpillar brand bulldozer.

SPEAKER_01

What the fuck is that thing?

SPEAKER_03

It's a 30-foot caterpillar brand bulldozer who just drives it out in the ocean.

SPEAKER_01

I just pictured a caterpillar.

SPEAKER_04

Uh, and then I met a I've met a gray whale, and um, he was super cool and chill, and he came right up to the boat.

SPEAKER_01

That sounds fun.

SPEAKER_04

And um uh m uh many of my stories are all sea life stories. I could go on and on.

SPEAKER_06

Meeting the mammals.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. They're fish, don't deeply controversial. Yeah, whales whales have gills. Spin gills, spin gills, just like otters.

SPEAKER_01

They're actually closely related.

SPEAKER_03

Steels and otters. Steels and otters aren't fish, so they're probably not that closely related.

SPEAKER_07

Neither are whales. I met a mountain goat. I know it is, but anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Stop it, Jeff. You're ruining it.

SPEAKER_07

I met a mountain goat.

SPEAKER_04

On the water? No. Uh yeah, in a boat, in the ocean. It was his boat. In the ocean. Yeah. Uh no.

SPEAKER_03

It was the goat's boat. It was really wavy, and the goat was like, I can walk on that.

SPEAKER_04

I can climb that hill. Uh no, it was uh uh Upper Lina Lake. We went up to Upper Lina Lake, and they grow them big up there. When I first saw him, I thought he was a bleached tree stump because he wasn't moving. And I was like, I don't remember walking past a giant bleached tree stump. And then he came up into our camp. And you know, a creature is just incredibly strong when it has, you know, three, four inches of fur, and you can see the definition of its muscles like through its fur. He was a monster, absolute monster. Big seven-inch spikes for his yeah, don't fuck with those things.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He was super chill. Um, but um until he's not. It was scary. It was super scary.

SPEAKER_07

Just look at him and lower your head. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Just get down.

SPEAKER_07

Like maintain eye confidence.

SPEAKER_01

You have to bow at them to show respect. It's like a hypocrite.

SPEAKER_04

You gotta stare him in the eye, you gotta give him your full attention. Yeah. And then take a couple steps backwards.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, paw a little bit at the graph.

SPEAKER_04

I'll still snort, stand up, and then get back down, stand up, get back down.

SPEAKER_06

It seems like terrible advice. They love that. I love that.

SPEAKER_04

It's how you show goat submission. Yeah. No, he could have he could have beat anybody. Anybody. He's a monster.

SPEAKER_03

I'll fight him.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't have any good like Could he have beaten the Orca?

SPEAKER_04

No, not at all. Nobody beats the Orca. Well, maybe if you put the Orca on top of Upper Lena Lake, you know, then he would probably still think the Orca would win.

SPEAKER_03

Orca could just roll over.

SPEAKER_05

Can it though?

SPEAKER_03

Bloodlusted, bloodlusted orca versus a bloodlusted goat on land.

SPEAKER_04

They just kill things with their tail. Like they just tail whip stuff and they're done.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think they have 30,000 pounds of bite force or something in orca.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. They'll do like 35 miles an hour under the water. It's super cool. They don't you don't ever see it on TVs or shows or anything, but they make this like compression donut around their middle as they swim. You can see the water vortexing off of their body. And um, like it, they're just so strong. They're so fast, they're so powerful, and they can turn on a dime and they can hold their breath forever. They're the ultimate predator.

SPEAKER_03

Compression donut was my nickname in high school. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I was gonna say I have a similar bite force when it comes to you know breakfast. It's true.

SPEAKER_01

Keep your hands away.

SPEAKER_06

He'll eat a bowling ball.

SPEAKER_01

Sausage! Doesn't even have to be cooked.

SPEAKER_06

I move it fast enough from plate to mouth that it cooks in transit. Ultimate predator.

SPEAKER_01

When it's already killed.

SPEAKER_07

They can do 35 miles an hour when food's involved, breakfast is involved. Uh Courtney, you were saying you've never been outside.

SPEAKER_01

No, I was saying I don't have any like Disney princess stories um like life has over there.

SPEAKER_06

But um It's funny, I was also picturing him singing on the boat. Yeah. I definitely did.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Uh but when uh Tony and I went to the Ho Rainforest, uh, that's where we actually got engaged, it was a very like beautiful and magical trip. And I just loved the lush green forest and the giant trees. I love trees. And one of my favorite moments was when we like walked up to a sign and it had like four different types of trees on it, and then each one was like represented like behind the sign, and I was then I was pointing out all of the the trees. I'm like, oh, that's uh the cedar and the there's a Douglas fir and whatever the other two were, but um it was fun.

SPEAKER_07

So your most memorable moment of nature is a sign.

SPEAKER_01

No, trees behind the signs, Jeff. Okay, yeah, the trip where she got engaged.

SPEAKER_03

That counts. That's a good one. Yeah, I like how you called it a beautiful trip. It was a beautiful trip.

SPEAKER_01

What was I supposed to call it?

SPEAKER_06

Well, no, it was just because we were also high.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, but it helped. All the colors were enhanced for sure.

SPEAKER_03

Um I went on uh like I just had like a really romantic day hike with my wife when we were like in high school still. That was probably my favorite trip in nature. We went looking for lakes that were undeveloped and we found a couple. It was a lot of fun. In in western Washington, you if you walk like 500 feet, you're gonna hit some water. You know.

SPEAKER_04

Watch out for orcas. Yeah. Yeah. Those mountain orcas. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I remember like uh 15 years ago or something, they changed the setbacks where you couldn't develop within like 150 feet of wetlands. And I was like, can anybody build a house out here anymore then? It's all wetlands.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah. Uh, I don't know. My most memorable point of nature, we just when I was younger, we used to go camping and stuff all the time. Uh, it was really fun. We had nicknamed the place the beer cave out in the desert because we just found this cave and drank beer in it. And that was fun. There were a bunch of bats in the cave too with us. Yeah. So I don't know. We were just outside so much. There's so many good memories in of nature. I practically lived up in the mountains of Utah uh when I was younger.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I was gonna say I have like a billion memories of being outside and doing stuff. Right.

SPEAKER_01

The uh crystal caverns in the Cayman Islands were really beautiful too. I think they were limestone.

SPEAKER_06

I was considering that one on my list, but it wasn't gonna be my answer. But yeah, that was really cool.

SPEAKER_01

They were gorgeous, and one some of them had water in them, uh, like very clear, beautiful water, and then there was a cave with bats and the tour guide's like, keep your mouths closed. You don't want fat poop in your mouth. Don't tell me what I want.

SPEAKER_07

Why do you think I'm here? It was a lot of fun though. That's one thing, like in my mind, I'm sort of disqualifying all of the uh I don't know, tourist moments that I spent in nature because to me, part of being in nature is like that seclusion.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Um so it yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It is still something that was naturally formed that is protected and still able to be a tourist attraction because it is protected. Yeah, yeah. We didn't need to destroy them.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I wasn't trying to discount it, I just did.

SPEAKER_01

You did.

SPEAKER_07

I was a drive.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. We went to that way. We went to Tahiti, that was pretty cool. Yeah. Everything there was pretty.

SPEAKER_04

Hawaii's awesome. We went diving off the north shore. I think we're planning on going next year. Super cool. If you can get in the water, it's awesome. Yeah, I've never been to Hawaii. Yeah. It's it's super warm and mild, and there's like a thousand species that you can see in like two minutes. Yeah. You know, it's uh it's super beautiful. Right. It's crazy awesome. It's a great time. And also all the movies were shot in Hawaii. Basically. Yeah. And uh, Jurassic Park, Thunder. Yeah. It's very, it's very nostalgic, you know. You get a lot of you get a lot of those senses while you're out there. Bring your bug your bug spray. The mosquitoes are like Dobermans over there. They're massive.

SPEAKER_01

You can just bring someone like Tony that'll attract all the bugs for you.

SPEAKER_07

Bring your sweet blood friend. I thought redheads. Like redheads attract mosquitoes.

SPEAKER_01

No, they they I've never had an issue with mosquitoes. But yeah, and then when I'm with him, he just they all flock to him.

SPEAKER_03

Weird.

SPEAKER_06

I've never not had problems with mosquitoes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, same. Guys, I just looked it up year wrong. Um, Jurassic Park was filmed on the Isla Nublar.

SPEAKER_05

What? Isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

That's the name of it in the movie.

SPEAKER_07

My favorite, one of my favorite parts of Universal Studios was they had a bar called I Isla Nubar. Yeah. It was cool. It was a bar and it was a pun. And I like you there for it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Can you explain that a little bit more for me? And you would like, I don't quite understand.

SPEAKER_03

So whenever people came in, you'd be like, life finds a way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's probably a drink.

SPEAKER_07

Courtney. The island, the the fictional island in Jurassic Park is Island. It's not fictional, that's where it was from.

SPEAKER_01

You're not getting it. Yeah, you're confused. Someone explain this to Jeff.

SPEAKER_03

You know, everybody's real excited about the dinosaurs, but I still think we should go back to the island to retrieve the cloning technology. Yeah. You know, because that was cool.

SPEAKER_06

To what end, Kyle? To what end? To make more dinosaurs.

SPEAKER_03

I'm going to make a hundred thousand of me and ruin the world. It would take more than a hundred thousand of them.

SPEAKER_02

I was going to say it takes significantly less.

SPEAKER_07

And they shall call it the island of Caliban, and I shall populate it with Caliban. Just Dr. Moreauing it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Tony, what's your answer?

SPEAKER_06

Usually I've been getting away with not answering and you guys haven't noticed.

SPEAKER_07

Not always.

SPEAKER_06

It's been getting more frequent. I've appreciated it.

SPEAKER_01

I stopped calling you on it because you usually don't answer even when we call you on it. And so it's just getting old.

SPEAKER_07

Speaking of which, let's get to the recap. Yeah, can you just play?

SPEAKER_01

We don't want to hear what you have to say.

SPEAKER_04

I do. I do.

SPEAKER_06

Now I'm torn. It's a 52. Answer the fucking question. I stall a little bit longer. Um, I had like I was going through a couple. There was um that time in Puerto Rico. Is that where we went?

SPEAKER_07

No, it was Portland.

SPEAKER_01

Puerto Rico and Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_06

So Puerto Rico, we um were on like this nature hike, and I saw like this small rodent thing. I can't remember what it was called. Do you remember what I'm talking about?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I do remember.

SPEAKER_06

You chased it.

SPEAKER_01

You disappeared. Like I did not know where you were.

SPEAKER_06

No one else saw this thing, and I just saw like the tail end of it, and I'm like, what is that? And I went off the trail and I'm like walking through this marshland trying, and like it goes around a corner, and I'm like, holy shit, I'm being led to Narnia right now. Like it is happening. Um, that was really cool. Um got a little lost. Found found my people again. But I think my uh my real answer would be uh Queensbath, Hawaii. Um it's funny because Jeff was like, you know, the touristy stuff kind of ruins it. But Courtney and I walked past all the people quite a ways, so it was just her and I. We couldn't really see anyone else. And uh in one of these ponds, uh seawater ponds.

SPEAKER_01

It's all like volcanic rock and it's like the shelf of the cliff where it like forms these pools and people can swim in. Um the salt water like comes up and then stays there to carry carry on.

SPEAKER_06

Massive, massive like tide pools. Uh there was a turtle, just a green sea turtle right there. And so we climbed down and hung out there by ourselves for like 20 minutes and just you know made soup through. Yeah, I was gonna say throw rocks at it and try to catch it and let's play Mario Kart. How long can it actually stay under water?

SPEAKER_01

You know, yeah, we picked it up for a while, gave it a hug, and carried it around.

SPEAKER_06

And then I started feeding it uh plastic straws and you're not supposed to do any of that.

SPEAKER_01

Six it was the most beautiful moment of nature, okay?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, right. Actually, the most beautiful moment of nature was your second-degree sunburn.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was gonna say, yeah, we I left my bag because we had to like scramble down this little like cliff thing. It wasn't that big, but it was easier to climb without it. And I was like, Yeah, we'll only be down here for a few minutes. Fucking burned my calves, just my calves, just fried back of the knees or like right above the Achilles standing. Everything else was fine, but they got fried and they blistered and it was gross. It's a tan blazing.

SPEAKER_07

I've been there, had that covering my entire back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, it sucks. Being a redhead is the worst.

SPEAKER_01

My worst sunburn was uh my family would go to like tropical vacations, and my family can all tan. So they would go to the tanning bed and get a little bit of a base tan, and they're like, You should do it too. So I try, and you know, sometimes I got a little bit, and one time they changed the bulbs and they didn't tell me, and I only went for 10 minutes and it came out, and my whole body was fried a week before vacation. And I was at school, this is high school, and I'm like scratching my back, and skin is just like flaking out left and right. It was horrible. It did not go away before the vacation. I was like, I'm never going to a tanning bed again.

SPEAKER_06

You went into your vacation already, so it was terrible.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, Thanks a lot, mom, for like recommending this to me. It's her fault.

SPEAKER_07

Also, you have a terrible mother for recommending tanning beds.

SPEAKER_03

The cancer somewhere sunny, I just wear SPF 100 like five times a day. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Then you just can't rub it in, it's just pasty. I'll take whatever.

SPEAKER_07

That's what being a child taught me was how to not get a sunburn anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I'm really good at applying sunscreen now. I have to do it like every hour and a half.

SPEAKER_07

Well, you're supposed to.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Like that, it says that on the bottle. Reapply frequently. Every two hours. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But I went to Disney with my family like every hour and a half. I was like, okay, I gotta stop and reapply. Nobody else did, just me. Yeah. I did not get burnt.

SPEAKER_06

And we fade to black. Okay. Good episode, everybody. This is the show now. It's better this way. I don't want to keep beating the shit out of you guys. I don't know if our friendship can take it.

SPEAKER_03

It's your favorite. Don't lie.

SPEAKER_06

You used to be.

SPEAKER_03

We were never friends.

SPEAKER_06

Can't ruin a friendship. It doesn't exist. You make your way to the fortress where you hope to sneak in and do the exact opposite. You ignite yourself and them in a conflagration of multicolored flame and it turns into just a race to escape. One that to Ari's horror, Violet seems to be winning. After making a dirty escape, because I don't know what the opposite of a clean escape is, you regroup, and the hard realization that you might not have as much time as you thought dawns on your wary heads as Willowshore continues to hemorrhage preparation points. What is the hero point situation?

SPEAKER_03

Zero. Also zero.

SPEAKER_01

Zero.

SPEAKER_07

Two. You guys should try harder.

SPEAKER_06

Try hard.

SPEAKER_01

Can you bring me a couple next time? Yeah. Thank you.

SPEAKER_06

You guys lose your bonus from the transmigration ritual. Oh. When did that be?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I didn't I haven't erased that yet. It is only good for one week. Oh, I thought it was good for a month.

SPEAKER_06

The ritual is your manifestations are good for a month. Your critical success is only good for the week.

SPEAKER_01

For the week.

SPEAKER_04

That was our plus one to Fortitude Reflex Will. It was basically plus one to almost everything except like acing.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Almost everything except acing and damage, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So we're in the hut, right?

SPEAKER_06

Or you guys can be on your little grassy knoll overlooking Karahai. You guys can be in your fishing hut. Um I don't I don't care. I don't care.

SPEAKER_01

I think we retreat with our tail between our legs.

SPEAKER_06

I did kind of assume you guys went all the way back with, you know, tears in your eyes, a limp in your step. Yeah. Some cinched hairs.

SPEAKER_01

Also still doomed, right? Some of you. Yeah. I got rid of it.

SPEAKER_07

I thought you were I thought we got rid of it. Like one of them. Yeah. Jeff got rid of one of them. Okay, so it was just me. Yeah, we got a role to produce it. You know terribly. Yeah. Like usual. Uh so yeah, at this point, our seemingly our only option is to just break in. Like stop trying to be so stealthy and just kick down the door, get in there, right? Everybody on the same page.

SPEAKER_01

I wasn't listening. Can you say that again?

SPEAKER_03

Let's do it. Gar just wants to storm castle.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I mean, what else are we gonna do aside from just kick down the door?

SPEAKER_06

He wants to be less splinter cell and more SWAT. I don't even know what that means.

SPEAKER_01

Splintering cell sounds painful. Um yeah, we gotta get in there. I don't think we should draw attention to ourselves though.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So what are our options here? I have a rope of climbing.

SPEAKER_05

Um you could realize your time has come and surrender to the void. No. And let forasma receive. You're still here.

SPEAKER_01

We've thought about that already, and I was going to do that, and then I got past that point. So I'm not ready to revert back to that thought. Um, but can you tell us anything about the layout of the fortress? You were in there before, probably multiple times.

SPEAKER_06

It's well suited for everyone that stays there. They have servants, they have beds and food that they could hold out there for weeks. Is there narrow corridors? Could we fight? I mean, it's all really not that expansive. Here, let me draw you a map. And he draws like two circles on the ground. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Didn't he do this before? I think so. It's the same map, he never brushed it away.

SPEAKER_03

He still goes through the effort though of drawing the stick through the old channels and the dirt that he had made.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so the bell you're looking for is right here.

SPEAKER_07

I think the question is do we just go in now or do we have to wait another night to like get our spells and etc. back? Yeah, we still have time, and I'm kind of hurt. Well, I suppose I could have healed. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm down a lot. Um I'm at 32 hit points. I've used two fourth level spell slots.

SPEAKER_07

I used all three. Because it's the same day that I was trying to cleanse you guys of the curse, I think. I don't I don't see why we wouldn't rest. So we We're we're really the resting we're giving them more time to sort of prepare. I I the last time that we were talking about it, uh Tony said something about like them if if we wait another night, they'll have much more time to set up defenses and stuff like that, rather than just busting in now. Because so that that's all. It just gives them time.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think so.

SPEAKER_06

I remember you saying that it's like they're gonna be ready for us because we're attacking every night, and everyone on the table, including me, was like, you guys have not been attacking every night. Yeah. But um I don't remember giving you guys foresight into how they were going to prepare.

SPEAKER_07

I do.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. I remember.

SPEAKER_01

So uh those are the facts.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know, man. Those those fights are pretty tough, anyways. I think I I'm I'm fine with it.

SPEAKER_01

They're already out looking for us now. So I don't see why they wouldn't be sweeping the castle and the fortress or whatever. Um and their guard is up. I know that they will have time to prepare and like they they know that we heal from um positive energy um and they might have different tactics, but Okay. I just don't think that we're prepared to go in.

SPEAKER_07

Alright, so we wait another day, sleep during the day, and go back tomorrow night.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_07

Alright.

SPEAKER_01

And we should try to maximize our abilities, like our spirit powers to infiltrate.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

Do we want spirit powers then for if we prep if we all prep some sort of fly, we can use it as an oh shit escape.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Um or we can prep like phase through walls, right? Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So there's dematerialize where we can um become incorporeal incorporeal for one round sustained up to five rounds. So that means we can pass through walls um and then we would be resistant to damage. It is a very limited uh amount of time.

SPEAKER_04

How many actions is it?

SPEAKER_01

Two.

SPEAKER_03

That would get us out of yeah, out of castle.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So we would at least get outside of the walls if we needed to. It could also help us get into somewhere if we needed to. Uh we could do the flight. Um, I'm kind of bored of that, I guess.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, it's kind of just an oh shit scramble button. If we're outside, I guess. It wouldn't work if we were uh inside.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no, I I agree with that though. We've got the rope of climbing and then Gardas has the jumping potions. Yeah, I can I can make leapers elixirs.

SPEAKER_01

There's also a flickering figure where we can become concealed and we can use this to hide for 10 minutes. Um so that might be helpful.

SPEAKER_07

Were there um like caravans or any type of big things being moved in and out of the West Gate?

SPEAKER_06

Whole caravans? No.

SPEAKER_07

So it's things that we could hide in, like barrels.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, for like every eight people, there'd be like eight barrels sort of thing. They're not moving large amounts again. This is a very small deslitter.

SPEAKER_04

Can we all fit into one barrel?

SPEAKER_01

When is the weekly shipment coming in? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I like to imagine that there's a scene of us like practicing with barrels and realizing like Ari can barely lift hers, and Violet cannot fit in any barrel ever.

SPEAKER_01

I just pictured the hobbits in their fish barrels. Yeah, yeah. Going into, I think Lake Town is what it was called. Um, so for minor powers, we could uh there's one. Let me find it. I liked duty. Um, so you can essentially uh suggest someone do a task. So like we could try to get them to lure people away or maybe like unlock a door or something. Um it it is on a save uh and on a critical success, the target like here's the hears the suggestion, but isn't otherwise affected. I don't know if that would you know, that would probably alert them and it might cause a different effect than what we intend. Um I have curiosity, so I can touch someone and I can ask a question. So um I'd have to be close to them though, and then ask like, you know, where's the bell or something like that, but that's still a save. We could do that with like a servant though.

SPEAKER_03

Um Yeah, I like the dematerializing duty.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I'll do whatever you guys want. Uh I'm partial to just kicking down doors, but that's all.

SPEAKER_01

Well, the aggressive approach didn't work for us last time.

SPEAKER_07

We didn't really try. We ran away.

SPEAKER_01

We almost died.

SPEAKER_07

Not very aggressive. We're already dead too.

SPEAKER_01

Um wanna try dematerialize?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, walk through a wall.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then I will do I'll have duty prepared.

SPEAKER_03

Um I have duty as one of my assigned ones also. So I have duty in my chair.

SPEAKER_01

Can I see the list kind of that's what that smell is? Oh, sorry.

SPEAKER_07

Uh-huh. Okay, so we just walk through a wall. I I would vote we go through where we already burned out, where we threw your pearl in and burned down that one place, because I think there's less of a chance of like people being there and watching it. Right.

SPEAKER_03

I think we should save the dematerialize for when we want to leave. Agreed.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay, so then we just once a day. Spider climb elixirs that you could give us. We have a rope of climbing if we need it. Um, and I think we can just like stake out outside of maybe that area that you were talking about where we um burned the logs and just like wait for the patrols to pass by, and then we can take our time getting in, maybe sending in like one or two people at a time, so we're not just like all going in. Um there's no reason why we can't like do it slowly.

SPEAKER_07

All right. So the first thing, the first hurdle though, then is sneaking up to the wall.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Which we've done successfully before. And we've done unsuccessfully before. Well, we just gotta take a shot, you know? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I do also have I think I have a scroll of shared invisibility.

SPEAKER_07

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Let me find it.

SPEAKER_07

Interesting. We could just walk in. Which would be very ideal.

SPEAKER_04

If we can because those gateways serve as a a a decent joke point for us to figure out what we're doing if things go sideways. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Uh target up to five willing creatures. Duration is ten minutes. Um all targets are invisible. Except to each other. So we can still see each other.

SPEAKER_07

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

Uh as long as you remain within the emanation. So we have to be within 30 feet.

SPEAKER_04

Um the person who uses the scroll.

SPEAKER_01

It's a 30-foot emanation.

SPEAKER_07

How long does it last, you said?

SPEAKER_01

Ten minutes.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so we can turn invisible, get to the wall, spider climb over the wall, and then we're in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we have ten minutes, so it would only probably take us a few rounds to get up and over the wall.

SPEAKER_07

But I want to use my potions. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and then we can find like a quiet place. Um, we have ten minutes to kind of like stake out that area.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, okay. Go to sleep. Good night. First watch. Last watch. I did it. Sorry. Second watch. Ari.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You can have first watch.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_03

I feel bad for her. I thought you were right behind me.

SPEAKER_01

I wasn't. Well, I was right behind you. And then you left. You know, I had to sacrifice myself to save you.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I know. I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_01

And then you just threw me to the wolves.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Red always said you were the yak.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_07

Yaks can take care of themselves. Raicho. Don't touch my shit.

SPEAKER_01

Look who's talking about.

SPEAKER_07

Curl up and go to bed.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know what that means. Raicho.

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_03

Do you want anything from shopping store when we go?

SPEAKER_01

Shopping store.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, we're gonna take things, right? Yeah, we're gonna steal whatever we can. It's like shopping.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, did you see anything in there that you wanted?

SPEAKER_05

I just want my daughter back.

SPEAKER_01

She's in the walls.

SPEAKER_05

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_01

I was just wondering if maybe you saw her.

SPEAKER_05

No. I wouldn't still be here. We'd go make a lie for ourselves. I wouldn't have to sit here haunted by what I'm sure are just demons conjured by my mind.

SPEAKER_07

Well, everybody's got shit luck nowadays.

SPEAKER_01

We're actually here. We're not conjured by your mind.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know which is worse. Oh, hang on just a minute. What if he's what if the mindscape is in Rysho? No, you're you're reaching too far there.

SPEAKER_01

Just eat these rice balls and go to bed.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, leave the thinking to the smart people like me. Okay. Ari.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah?

SPEAKER_03

You're going to do the thinking for Gardas, right?

SPEAKER_07

I'm asleep.

SPEAKER_01

I always do. I can't control him now.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, third watch. I wake up Gardas.

SPEAKER_07

I cook breakfast. Or dinner, however you want to look at it.

SPEAKER_06

Breakfast is just when you break your fasts, so it could be at any time.

SPEAKER_07

Alright, so breakfast it is. Pancakes for everybody.

SPEAKER_01

Violet never fasts.

SPEAKER_07

Has to wake up every two hours.

SPEAKER_01

She's just eating in her sleep.

SPEAKER_04

Chewing her cud.

SPEAKER_01

Just like eating the blankets and stuff, you know.

SPEAKER_07

It's the family show life. What? Every once in a while I just throw raw eggs into her mouth while she sleeps.

SPEAKER_06

Calling this a family show is cold.

SPEAKER_07

AI disagrees. I let my kids watch it or listen. Yeah, well, they're gonna be just fine.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just like you, Jeff. They're gonna be just fine.

SPEAKER_06

I think that's a comment more on your parenting and not on the show. The sun is getting low on the horizon. It is almost nighttime. You guys all benefit from a long rest.

SPEAKER_01

And our doomed goes down.

SPEAKER_06

What would you like to do?

SPEAKER_04

Guess we're gonna try and sneak into town as best we can, get as close as we can.

SPEAKER_07

So the only gate that's actually open that we could take invisibility and sneak through is the West Gate. Yeah. Every other gate was closed. I thought we were spider climbing. That's what I said. But other people argued with you. Okay. All right. Let's do it.

SPEAKER_01

Nobody changed the plan, Jeff. Except for you. I regret asking. Who let him talk?

SPEAKER_03

So we're gonna get up to the thing. Yeah, do we want to take our invisibility? Take our potions. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I think we're gonna try to go to the side where we burned the logs. Like whatever.

SPEAKER_03

See if we can find an entrance where the be left.

SPEAKER_04

Was the south side, I want to say?

SPEAKER_07

Usually, yeah, southeast, I think.

SPEAKER_01

And we don't have to go at a gate. We can go over a wall.

SPEAKER_07

Spider climb.

SPEAKER_06

So you want to approach from the southeast. That is where the uh unused wood stable was. Yeah. Uh this is Fire Gate, the gate to the south. It's painted red, decorated with a depiction of a phoenix. Has a bit bug-eyed after someone tried to touch it up and didn't do a very good job. Um, it's pretty easy for you guys to get into town. It's when you start approaching the fort, the things get a little dicey. You can see people carrying torches walking the upper perimeter. Um, and you're gonna have to go over this like patrol area if you're gonna spider climb over the wall into that uh first kind of hallway there. Uh so your plan is to are you casting invisibility for this?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I think we'll sit for a while, we'll stake it out, watch the patrols, and see like when there's a gap, we'll cast shared invisibility.

SPEAKER_06

So seven hours go by. After like, you know, it's not time yet, guys. We gotta wait.

SPEAKER_01

Wait. I don't feel comfortable for the gap.

SPEAKER_07

I'm so hungry. Wait for the gap.

SPEAKER_01

They're only on the other side of the wall right now.

SPEAKER_07

Garnets, can you make more eggs? I just throw you a raw steak.

SPEAKER_06

You all benefit from a long rap. Um you all just seem to like wink out your ghostly figures no longer visible. Um, who cast spider climb?

SPEAKER_07

Uh so I am doing quick alchemy to make four spider climbs for us that will last a minute and give us a climb speed of 15.

SPEAKER_04

Which also means we don't get our elixir of life.

SPEAKER_07

No, it it does. I'm using the uh quick alchemy for this one because I never use it in combat. I don't. So I'm giving I'm still giving you all of the elixir of life for today.

SPEAKER_06

This loser doesn't know what quick alchemy is. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_07

I use quick alchemy when I have plenty of time.

SPEAKER_01

We could be using this all the time.

SPEAKER_07

But yeah, so you still have your elixir, and we all have spider climb for one minute to easily get up and over the wall. Okay. Invisibly.

SPEAKER_06

I really love this plan, actually, because like it's every thief's perfect scenario, right? You get to go straight up the wall, you have those suction cup things on your hands, and uh, you're perfectly invisible. Everyone give me a self-check with a plus four. You can follow the expert.

SPEAKER_07

Mm-hmm. You get a plus twelve for that, and then plus four, so sixteen. Sounds right. See here. That's what I remember. Okay. Ooh, I'm gonna need to.

SPEAKER_03

33.

SPEAKER_01

34.

SPEAKER_04

Dirty 20. Plus four is uh 33.

SPEAKER_06

You are up on the roof, and you're walking over to the other side, and you hear footsteps start rushing over on the walkway underneath you. Just like what would that be? Like three, four feet underneath you, right? You guys are on the roof, this walk walkway is like 15, 20 feet high. Torches come rushing over, and they start like looking down on the ground underneath. They run over to the other side and look down into the lumber storage, and you guys just keep going on, descending down into the other side. I will take you oh oh god, to the map. And we're dead.

SPEAKER_07

By the way, this morning I prepped and cast Vital Beacon on myself. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

And did you change your your powers and stuff? Okay.

SPEAKER_07

We all have phase out.

SPEAKER_01

Because we've been burned by that before. At least Ari has.

SPEAKER_06

We're inside.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, guys, we did it.

SPEAKER_06

You guys are still invisible in that last 10 minutes?

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

This is a very narrow like place in between these two walls.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's only about five feet wide, and the walls curve up to the north and continue on to the west. You see, there is a door directly behind you. You know that leads to the lumber storage that you uh burnt down a while ago. And then you just see uh doors going up on the north side, and way, way, way off on the west side on the opposite wall, you see more doors. You have a lot of options here. You are about equidistance from south gate and east gate. Let's go indoor. Uh yeah, pick a door, I guess.

SPEAKER_04

I think we should head towards the center. So the door.

SPEAKER_01

There's three.

SPEAKER_04

There's two.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody's looking at a door. So we open the door. One, two, three.

SPEAKER_07

Let's do the one right next to Ari. Yeah, yeah. Open the door leading further in.

SPEAKER_01

So that you said what leads to where the lumber was.

SPEAKER_03

And then the one behind us, I think, is the Yeah, the one to the southeast of you.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Because you wouldn't be able to spy on one of the inner rings. You wouldn't be able to like walk up to the fortress, look through a window into the inner ring. So that lumber storage is behind you uh on the farther the outer ring.

SPEAKER_01

Sounds good.

SPEAKER_06

Um, and you know this to be a really large room. Uh, when you guys looked into it, it was, you know, from gate to gate sort of thing. Looking in, uh, directly in front of you is a gate. Uh this first door uh is is a gate, not really a door like some of the other ones. It's actually left slightly ajar. It's painted with an image of maybe a chicken. You can't quite tell.

SPEAKER_03

I love chicken.

SPEAKER_01

Um I'm gonna have Pops lead the way because you're you're the stealthiest of us. Okay. Um so Ari is just kind of like she grabs your arm because we can all see each other, and she kind of pulls you forward um and motions towards the door. Okay. So we would switch bolts.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know if we I'm not too worried about where you are exactly. Cool.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm just worried about getting into a fight.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Um, and this just seems to be um a clear through and through gate on the other side. It's identical to the one you just came through. A door on the opposite wall towards the center.

SPEAKER_03

Let's do next door over.

SPEAKER_07

The other door? Another door. Yeah, this is just a hallway. A door leading to an empty hallway, my favorite.

SPEAKER_06

We'll close a door, right? You guys another door.

SPEAKER_07

Empty hallway. We'll close that door behind us too.

SPEAKER_01

Get off of me.

SPEAKER_07

Alright, so other door then. Is this one unlocked?

unknown

Oop.

SPEAKER_06

You open the door and you actually see and hear commotion coming from the other side. This shelf-filled room contains an eclectic mess of anything that might be useful but doesn't have its own dedicated space, such as lumber saws, maintenance equipment, bundles of branches, animal pelts, dried bamboo stocks, and clay for patching up holes in the wall. And you see three figures hurriedly at work in here.

SPEAKER_07

We're still invisible, right?

SPEAKER_06

For a little bit.

SPEAKER_07

So the door just kind of slides open.

SPEAKER_06

Um, they're busy, they don't really seem to notice at this point.

SPEAKER_01

Um, do these look like they are servants? Like based off of their attire.

SPEAKER_06

They look like exorcists.

SPEAKER_07

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_07

Should we fight? Yeah, let's we should kill these guys for sure.

SPEAKER_01

I well, um okay. Um right now we have the ability to do some reconnaissance. So I think we have a few minutes of invisibility. We can kind of see how much we can uncover. Um, because once we're visible, there's not much we can do.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Is there is there any other doors in that room? Can you see Jeff?

SPEAKER_07

Uh not that I can see. There's like big shelving shelves in the way in the middle of the room that I can't really see past very well. I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

I I think we should go back to that hall and keep going towards the center.

SPEAKER_01

At least see. At least see what's on the other side.

SPEAKER_06

You guys know you have about two or three minutes left of invisibility. Okay. Fine, hurry. Click clock, click, clock.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So um clock clock, click, clock. Pops, go first.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Uh, everybody's stacked on torchlight coming from the northern side. Here we go.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody get in, close the door. Yeah. At least to the point that it was before. Because it was slightly open. Okay. And then Ari will too.

SPEAKER_07

And we'll try this door. I closed the door and now Ari can't get past it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like zoomed out, so I didn't realize what's going on. Hey!

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so open open the next door and look inside the courtyard.

SPEAKER_01

And this is Pops doing it. Please. Thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Pops hold just step through the threshold. I'm coming.

SPEAKER_01

Just yeah. Wait for him to describe it before everybody moves.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I just go through enough just to see. Remember when Kyle tried to kill the whole party by doing that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was in a different campaign though.

SPEAKER_06

Um beautifully tended garden occupies the fortress's central central courtyard, a covered well at the center. Several well-pruned cotton trees dot the area at aesthetically pleasing intervals. Their branches are currently bare, giving the impression of jagged spines reaching up toward the sky. A colorful canopy has been erected on poles in the southern part of the garden, under which rugs, a chair, and a table set with tea and snacks uh have been set up, but it uh, you know, there's only like saucers and like a tea set there now. Um otherwise it is barren out here. We don't see anyone.

SPEAKER_01

We must go down the well.

SPEAKER_06

Let's go kill those exorcists. I agree. And you guys wink back into existence.

SPEAKER_03

What? We're visible again. Oh, oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I think we should get out of this courtyard. Um, because you could see in from other places, right? Like windows and absolutely. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

It's the center courtyard. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. Let's go. So we go kill Exorcists? Yes.

SPEAKER_01

So we'll move back, and then he said there were torches coming down the hallway, so I think we should wait and make sure that they pass by.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. You guys see the torches pass by.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

There's clearly a patrol going on. Okay. So they're just walking loops.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay. Just walk in loops.

SPEAKER_03

Let's go fight.

SPEAKER_07

Back to other door. Kill Exorcists.

SPEAKER_04

I think we should uh I think we should follow that. Um we should follow the patrol and try another door.

SPEAKER_06

Damn it. Yeah, I don't know. So Gardas is already gone. Gardas has left. He walked in the other room. The three of you guys are here making a plan.

SPEAKER_03

We have to follow Gardas. He dies.

SPEAKER_01

I'm really this is really frustrating, okay? Because like why are you going without talking?

SPEAKER_07

I thought we already talked about it.

SPEAKER_01

No, we didn't. You just really want to do this. It's very frustrating. We can't do anything because you just barrel through. Like if okay.

SPEAKER_07

I thought we already talked about it. No. Violet agreed with me.

SPEAKER_06

So, Gardas, do you start attacking them?

SPEAKER_07

No. No.

SPEAKER_06

What do you do? I can't the game is currently paused. Yeah, I paused it because everyone's moving themselves and then stopping to talk. And so I just want to make sure that uh we're doing things canonically. So Gardas is in the other room. You guys, the patrol passed, Gardas runs to the other room, and then rather than following him, I feel like Pop stuck out his arm and is like, what if we follow this patrol?

SPEAKER_04

Well, yeah, like we we stacked up on the door and we waited for them to pass, and that was going to be his next thought. And then Jeff left.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I don't think we should be trying to pick fights right now. If we are seen, then we can fight and then flee as um a backup option. Like we're trying to get reconnaissance, but if we just pick a fight, then we know there's people that are literally patrolling the hallways.

SPEAKER_07

Since this was not a reconnaissance mission, we're not trying to get reconnaissance right now. Would you ram the- I thought we were just trying to bust into the city?

SPEAKER_01

Our ultimate goal is to get our lantern.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So why would we start picking fights in here? We know how powerful they are. Like the whole goal was to just get inside so that we can get our fucking lantern back.

SPEAKER_04

It's called the element of surprise, Jeff. How are we gonna get our lantern back? Well, first we find it, and then maybe we can just leave with it.

SPEAKER_01

We might not have to fight anybody. We know there will be combat, but I don't think we need to just go out and start killing everybody because we always lose that fight in this situation. I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

Violet agreed with me when I said kill the exorcist.

SPEAKER_01

So Violet's gonna agree with you.

SPEAKER_07

That was all you needed. Alright, fine. Gargus will follow. I'm doing whatever. If I walked into the room, then I'll just where is everybody and just step right up back out of the room?

SPEAKER_04

Oops. Oops. This isn't where I parked my car. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And I think moving forward, we should talk before we move our pawns. Just general rules.

SPEAKER_06

Do they see Gardas? You guys uh have free reign to do what you need to do, I guess.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna step into the hallway.

SPEAKER_06

Open the door first. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

There we go. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

This gate! It's in the way.

SPEAKER_07

Where the hell were you guys? Thought you were back at me up.

SPEAKER_01

Shut up, Gardus. Let's go. Be quiet.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. You guys start making your way west along the circle. You see up ahead of you on this uh southwest corner, the patrol stops outside of these wide double doors. And as they open the door, you see light flooding out, and despite the lateness of the hour, a lot of noise. And they go inside, and just a few seconds later, different people, same uniform, same look, uh, but clearly different people, walk out and continue moving west and north up the circle, uh, continuing the patrol as if there was a changing of the guard. Uh, but you can tell that there are quite a few people in one of those rooms.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. So uh it's safe to say that we made it up to like where Courtney's cursor is at.

SPEAKER_06

I I wouldn't even say that far, I would say maybe here, unless you guys want to start collectively giving me self-checks. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like we were watching from afar. Um it might be good for you to just kind of peek around the corner, and then if we need to, we can go back and check out some of these other rings because or the other doors behind us.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Um I want to sneak up to this corner right here and have a peek into this little short hallway.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, you know that that is South Gate.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. And it's barred from the inside, I assume.

SPEAKER_06

Nope.

SPEAKER_04

Not barred.

SPEAKER_06

Does not look to be um sealed off in any way.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. And and um. So that leads outside. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um And that's where the other guards went, right? Nope.

SPEAKER_04

No, they are over here. They came out of this door.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. I can't see that far. I guess I'll move forward.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. They came out of this door and kept going around that way. So uh that's almost certainly the barracks.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know if I want to be next to the barracks. Should we where should we go? I mean, you know where I want to go.

SPEAKER_03

We could check those other two doors that we were behind us.

SPEAKER_01

Let's go back and uh check out the lumber room. We know that they already looked in there. I think when we crossed over the the um wall that there was some sort of alarm that went off.

SPEAKER_03

Probably just guard us.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Calm, calm, calm, calm.

SPEAKER_04

I am wearing like wooden shoes. Pops listens at the door.

SPEAKER_06

Give me a perception check. Perception check.

SPEAKER_01

You're doing the southern one.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Okay. Nineteen on dice plus perception sixteen for a 35.

SPEAKER_06

You hear absolutely nothing.

SPEAKER_04

Uh Pops will open the door.

SPEAKER_06

Um, you see this long curving room. It was once stacked with logs and lumber, planks of all shapes and sizes, but has since burned down and is filled with ash and soot. Uh, there is still a collection of puddles where they have used water to put out was what was once a raging fire.

SPEAKER_04

And pops will step in and have a look. Okay, yeah. Is what it says on the tin.

SPEAKER_06

And again, this map doesn't really represent well what you guys are seeing because you've burned this room down.

SPEAKER_04

The room had it coming.

SPEAKER_06

The room had it coming.

SPEAKER_01

Can I do a perception check to see if there's anything left behind? Sure.

SPEAKER_04

Can we close the door behind us?

SPEAKER_01

Yep. It's closed. 23.

SPEAKER_06

You find like the head of a shovel, because it's made out of metal and you know, a few loose nails. You do find a ladder on the south that leads up to a small door in the wall located about 15 feet off the ground.

SPEAKER_01

Pops, you should look up there.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Um I assume that takes us up to the the walkway.

SPEAKER_06

It does.

SPEAKER_04

I'll just s very as sneakily as I can poke my head up and see what it looks like.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, it looks like a smaller, more cramped version of the uh center walkway. It's 15 feet off the ground. Um, and again, just kind of like sticking your head through. You don't really have a good angle because the walls are constantly curving, but yeah, I mean, you don't see anyone.

SPEAKER_04

It's just the walkway that we can see from the ground, right? So like there's no there's no chance of there being any rooms up there. Um so I come back down the ladder and I say, I don't think that's the way we need to go.

SPEAKER_01

Is there any way we can fit this ladder in our bag of holding?

SPEAKER_06

I mean you could use the walkway to move around, but you don't know um like where it comes in and out at, and you don't know uh who else you might find up there.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, well historically that's been manned, right? With archers. Yeah. Pops takes the ladder down and puts it on the floor. What do we need a ladder for?

SPEAKER_01

It might be nice. And also it might make you know, it might throw them off a little bit.

SPEAKER_07

We have rope and more of these spider brew potions.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, whatever. It's just an idea. You don't have to poo-poo everything I say.

SPEAKER_07

I feel like sometimes it's my job.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so that was both of the doors there lead into this room.

SPEAKER_03

Should we wait for the patrol to walk by and then run up the run up north and see if see if there's more doors? Sure. Pops listens at the door for the patrol.

SPEAKER_06

And it's pretty easy to tell, um, especially when you're at the door. One of the things you've noticed though is that like, as far as you can tell, this room is seemingly entirely abandoned. Um otherwise, the people are talking, they're pretty casual. Um, you know, they're not talking in whispers or anything like that. And of course, the torch uh that they're carrying with them kind of always signifies their position. So uh they walk past and you wait a few moments afterwards.

SPEAKER_03

You guys, maybe we could move into this room.

SPEAKER_04

Just live here. Yeah, just set up shop. Oh, thank you.

SPEAKER_01

You're welcome. Let me get that.

SPEAKER_04

I'll learn how to do that one of these days. Okay, whoa, this door's still open. Okay. So then uh I'll just move down and I'll sneak down and put myself sort of right here where I can see around the corner.

SPEAKER_06

And you've come to Eastern Gate. This is the one you guys tried to sneak in before. It's painted green, decorated with a golden squiggle that vaguely resembles a dragon. And uh a couple of days ago it looked notably fresh. It is still currently kind of closed. Looking up uh north, you see a uh I guess you guys would only see one door, huh? On the uh inner wall to the west there.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think I think the hypothesis's next move would be kind of like this.

SPEAKER_06

This is like diagonal into a crevice kind of around a corner. So we have to do that door.

SPEAKER_04

I think that's just the other side of that door. I'm starting to think artists might be right.

SPEAKER_06

You slowly open the door. You slowly open the door and you make eye contact.

SPEAKER_01

Hello.

SPEAKER_06

With someone that actually looks a little familiar.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, is it one of our one of our friends?

SPEAKER_06

Everyone roll initiative. We're gonna keep your 23 life for initiative. If you have bonuses to initiative, I'll go ahead and add those. Uh most of you, I think, would be adding stealth for your initiative unless you have an argument for something else.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's fair.

SPEAKER_06

Violet.

SPEAKER_03

22?

SPEAKER_07

If we're using stealth and I was following the expert, then 19.

SPEAKER_06

Were you following the expert?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. I was just like behind uh pops the whole time. Everybody kept shooting down my ideas. Yeah, so I was just like 26.

SPEAKER_01

What's the big guy's name? Kaimago.

SPEAKER_07

Kaimago. No, that that's not somebody we would recognize, though.

SPEAKER_01

That's true.

SPEAKER_07

It was one of the three that were doing the uh Cao Chen. Yeah, we still got we got a sheet for that. I'm looking for I think we got all of their names. We did, yeah. Where did I write it down? Shigua, Fin Feng, and Cao Chen. Yeah, the Fin Feng the Dragon.

SPEAKER_01

Shigua was the girl?

SPEAKER_07

No, Finfeng.

SPEAKER_01

Shigu was the dumb one.

SPEAKER_07

Right. And then Cao Chin was the leader-looking one. But who was it? Like one of them, Finfeng. Here's my notes. Finfeng has been influenced by Kugopti. So we know that she, at the very least, uh, was influenced. So I don't know what that means, but I assume she's on Kugopti's side.

SPEAKER_06

Pops, you open this door and you make eye contact with Fin Fang, the female exorcist that held your seance.

SPEAKER_04

Hello. My name is Sorayanra Cool. What is your name?

SPEAKER_06

Um and she is going to blast out a spell.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

All of you give me a will save. Oh, that'll probably play.

SPEAKER_01

Is this against fear?

SPEAKER_06

No.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

33.

SPEAKER_06

Standard pass.

SPEAKER_04

30.

SPEAKER_06

Standard pass.

SPEAKER_04

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

34.

SPEAKER_03

Nice. Standard pass. It's crazy. 19 on the dice is a standard pass. We should kill it.

SPEAKER_01

19 is my role as well.

SPEAKER_07

37.

SPEAKER_06

Standard pass.

SPEAKER_07

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

38.

SPEAKER_06

DC 29.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_06

For one round, the creature can't use reactions and must attempt another save at the start of its turn. On a failure, it is slowed one for that turn as it sobs uncontrollably. Wow. As you guys are hit with crushing despair. You open the door, you make eye contact, she raises her hands and says, You will not take us. And then, I don't know, Re-Shield, what else can she do?

SPEAKER_07

So what on a pass, nothing happens?

SPEAKER_06

No, that was everyone passed. Okay. That's the effect.

SPEAKER_01

We have no reactions for this round, and we must make another attempt.

SPEAKER_06

On your turn, you will make another save.

SPEAKER_07

Holy shit. That's a success.

SPEAKER_06

Yes. Yes. Failure is this effect lasts for one minute rather than on your turn.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um success doesn't always mean that you just get out.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And then she starts barking orders at her minions there. Actually, she's like, I can't see what's going on.

SPEAKER_01

Why am I so sad?

SPEAKER_06

And then we will go to Ari's turn.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Um, so Ari will, I guess, move up. Make your will save. I didn't move to that spot, but my mouse got stuck. Um, would the will save be at the end of a turn? Usually no.

SPEAKER_06

Literally, because you would be slowed for this turn if you don't pass. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_06

At the start of its turn.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

I hope you fail.

SPEAKER_01

That was an actual 20, but it was cracked. Um, that is a 30. So I passed.

SPEAKER_06

It changes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_07

Probably lowers. It doesn't change.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So it was a critical success? You're fine. Feels like a critical success. So she moved up a total of five, ten, fifteen feet. And they're supposed to be in this room.

SPEAKER_06

They're absolutely in that room, but I said she moved back. Okay. I really, really love uh the like actual line of sight. Can't see anything.

SPEAKER_01

I see a wheelbarrow, looks like some pots or like vases on a table. Um you're gonna have to get in there. Something with a crank. It looks like a what's the thing where you grind weapons on?

SPEAKER_07

A grinder.

SPEAKER_01

Is that what it's called? That's a whetstone?

SPEAKER_06

No, you said what do you use to sharpen weapons when I said grind weapons on?

SPEAKER_04

I think it's a grinding stone, right?

SPEAKER_01

Grinding stone, yep, I see that.

SPEAKER_04

Uh just throw your fireball in there.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Fireball. Um, she's going to if you want to reserve, you can get free movement.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, no, wait. Never mind. She already moved.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. She's going to cast a blur on herself.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Move two action spell. Make sure you track that. Pops.

SPEAKER_04

Pops, as part of initiative, put his eminence in Thousand League sandals. I'm gonna one action trigger that so everybody gets to move. Will save. Close the door. Oh yeah, I'll do my will save. Sorry. So don't we have to use reactions to move? Yeah. Oh yeah, that's right. Oh shit. Well, I get to move. Here's my will save.

SPEAKER_01

Do I have a reaction now?

SPEAKER_06

You do have a reaction.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

There's uh 15 on the dice plus will 17 for a uh 32.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah, so you can. Thank you. You're good. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. And clear to the effect. Yep. Okay. So then I'll take my movement from that action.

SPEAKER_06

So make sure you're going through that door or it's gonna stop you. Okay. You can tell because of the line you've dotted.

SPEAKER_04

That's five feet. Oh, you close the door. Close it. Sorry. You close it again. Stop it.

SPEAKER_01

Stop it. This is his biggest struggle. I'm trying to learn to not overcome doors.

SPEAKER_06

It's also sad because I was trying to help him, and so like I click it open, and then he'd click it close, and then I he'd click it open so I click it closed.

SPEAKER_04

Can I get up against this wall here? Yeah, I'm gonna do that. Okay. Uh oh, I'll do one more so I can maybe flank. Okay. Uh I zigzag, I serpentine through the room. And uh here comes the bonk. Natural 20.

SPEAKER_06

Oh no. She's dead already. Oh my goodness. Hell yeah. You walk up to this first exorcist and just slam them.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, and that looks like stone to me. Uh, so I do believe it's actually plastic. Yeah. Uh born of the land down. Okay. Okay, uh, let's get some damage going here. So I I shifted over to Titanbreaker, so I have the I need 2d8 plus 12. Yeah, 2d8 plus 12.

SPEAKER_03

Do these ones. Do you get to use the six?

SPEAKER_04

Not on this one, because I only if it's only if it's the two action one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh not bad. So that is 9 plus 12 is 21 plus the double though. Uh that is a 42 bonk plus bones of the earth. Um, so he is automatically driven into the ground. Target is immobilized, must succeed at an escape attempt against your class DC to end immobilization.

SPEAKER_01

This is because of the stone floor.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. Railway spike. Bonk. So that is two actions.

SPEAKER_06

42, correct?

SPEAKER_04

Yep, 42. And here comes another swing. Why not? That was your damage? Yep. It doesn't seem like a lot. I rolled kind of low on my they're not not super great. My big swing. My big crit is when I get to use my Titan Breaker.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

19 on dice for my second swing. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

We hate this guy.

SPEAKER_04

19 uh plus 19 um is 38 minus 5 is uh 33. Is that a crit?

SPEAKER_06

They're only immobilized, nothing else.

SPEAKER_04

Um yeah, they're driven into the ground. Target is immobilized. Must succeed on an escape attempt against will DC.

SPEAKER_06

33 is a hit.

SPEAKER_04

Just a regular old hit. Okay. Here comes the Dimage. Low damage. Three on dice plus 12 for 15 damage. And that's my turn. Oh my god, he's only injured.

SPEAKER_01

These guys are tough.

SPEAKER_06

This other exorcist steps around the corner to kind of flank with pops. Flank pops, I should say, not with pops.

SPEAKER_01

He's on our side.

SPEAKER_06

And then with its torch tries to strike you with it.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Purifying flames.

SPEAKER_07

Can't light us on fire.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, terrible roll. 23.

SPEAKER_04

Miss.

SPEAKER_06

That's so sad. Um, and that's its turn. And then we'll go to Violet.

SPEAKER_03

Violet's gonna storm in, classic threatening approach style.

SPEAKER_07

Wait, we all have to do a wheel save first, right?

SPEAKER_03

Oh yes. Here we give. Tony, what happens when you get a natural one?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, buddy. You're slow.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just slowed.

SPEAKER_06

I think you're just slowed.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So I get two actions.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So still a threatening approach.

SPEAKER_07

You will have to cry also. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, that is part of it. Sobbing as you're threatening.

SPEAKER_07

Does he get his reaction?

SPEAKER_06

For one round, the creature can use reactions and must attempt another save at the start of its turn on a failure. It is slowed one for that turn as it sobs uncontrollably.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so fail you can't go that way. He keeps trying over and over and over again.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I'm trying to get this hard to go through.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. I had the same issue, but I I figured it out faster.

SPEAKER_07

Again, solid object. And then made fun of him for it. Yeah, thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Just watching as the dotted line kept showing up and he could just kept clicking.

SPEAKER_03

Uh intimidation. Um does a 31 intimidate.

SPEAKER_06

Uh standard success.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, they are frightened too.

SPEAKER_07

Threatening approach. This dinosaur just comes through the door with its frills out. Yeah, just screaming and promising. Crocodile tears.

SPEAKER_01

And that's all you can do, right? That's all I can do. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Gardas.

SPEAKER_07

Uh, I'm going to cast protection on myself. Wait, I need to do a will save first. Gardus, closed door. Uh that's probably fine. 16 plus 17. 33. Standard pass. Okay. Which is all you need. So cast. Protection on myself, and then I can use the reaction I just did for my zealous rush, which gives me 20 foot of move. One. Holy shit, this is crowded in here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you have to go through Ari Space if you want to go.

SPEAKER_07

Two through. So wait. One, two, three, four. Okay, I tell me if I can shit.

SPEAKER_06

Well, you already moved one diagonal. Yeah, yeah. And then five, ten, twenty would put you right here.

SPEAKER_07

That's where I was trying to get to. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So you have to go through violet space.

SPEAKER_03

Which makes it twenty.

SPEAKER_01

Just go through violet space. It just won't it won't let me. You can also go down on your D-pad.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_01

Or your right directional arrows.

SPEAKER_07

Now I have to go back up. You're left. You're bagging him. Okay. That's where I got to.

SPEAKER_01

He's demoralized for sure. Wait.

SPEAKER_07

Which which one is Fin Fang? The one with the band-aid. Okay, her.

SPEAKER_01

I can't see them at all.

SPEAKER_07

I say, hey, it's Fin Fang. She's corrupted by Kukapdi. Get her. And then I attack the other guy. And then we all get all three of us are attacking this one.

SPEAKER_01

Get her. After this one.

SPEAKER_07

Alright, close the door.

SPEAKER_01

I will.

SPEAKER_07

Um so attack on the one that I'm closest to. Oh, that's a natural 20. Yes. Uh 2D twelve plus one D6 for my cold. Oh my my kids play with my dice more often now, and they're all just scattered around. I have no idea. They're not organized anymore. Time to get rid of them. New kids. Send them back. Or no kids. New kids. You're adults now.

SPEAKER_01

Go figure it out. Done enough.

SPEAKER_07

Wait. 19 plus 4 is 23 times 2 is 46 points of damage. Nice.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Big hit. So yeah, 46 points of damage. And that is near death. It.

SPEAKER_06

Well, now it's finally their turn. After they've just been absolutely mangled.

SPEAKER_07

Only one of them.

unknown

Poor guy.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like this. I just saw heal pop up.

SPEAKER_07

Now who's ruining it?

SPEAKER_03

Courtney. Yay. Those of us who are literate can't ruin it.

SPEAKER_07

But at least no spoilers.

SPEAKER_06

Blasts off some healing. But really only affecting herself. As no one else was injured at all, right?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_06

Then we will go to the beginning of round two. And Fenfang will go.

SPEAKER_01

This one's scary.

SPEAKER_06

And we'll cast another spell on. We'll do it on Pops. Bring it. Give me a will save.

SPEAKER_01

Come on, Pops.

SPEAKER_04

That is a natural one.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_04

What wow.

SPEAKER_01

Hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Amazing.

SPEAKER_04

Right into dice jail.

SPEAKER_03

Hey Tony, what happens when somebody gets a natural one? She casts Phantom Pain. Ouch.

SPEAKER_06

On Pops. Pops becomes sickened to.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. As a piece of shrapnel grows out of my forehead.

SPEAKER_03

Phantom shrapnel. Do you think Phantom Pain is especially effective against us on account of us being phantoms? I was just making a metal gear reference, is all.

SPEAKER_01

You suddenly realize that you've had your leg amputated and it really hurts.

SPEAKER_04

I once had a tail.

SPEAKER_01

I remember now.

SPEAKER_04

It's just cramped the whole time. Somebody get me a mirror.

SPEAKER_01

Is my tail okay? What tail?

unknown

That's fine.

SPEAKER_06

19 points of mental damage.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Cool. You're gonna be taking some persistent damage there as well.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

That happens on your turn.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. At the beginning of my turn, I assume.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_04

And 74 of persistent damage.

SPEAKER_06

She tries to create more space. Ari.

SPEAKER_01

It's my turn. Okay. Ari will start by doing her Durge of Doom. So she or actually she will close the door. Boop. And then instead of Dirge of Doom, she will do Hymn of Healing on Pops. So she starts just like quietly singing. Hush now, little baby. You're gonna be fine. And that's her turn.

SPEAKER_06

Do you heal?

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah. 24.

SPEAKER_04

24. Excellent.

SPEAKER_01

And uh no no no, sorry, sorry, sorry. It's eight. It's I'm used to doing this um just like out of combat. So it's eight now, uh fast healing and then eight temporary hit points.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

So the only thing he gets right now is the eight temporary.

SPEAKER_01

And then the fast healing on his turn.

SPEAKER_06

Isn't that how fast healing works?

SPEAKER_01

I think so.

SPEAKER_06

I like how you just like never use the spell in your healing spelling combat. You're like, I don't know how this works to her base.

SPEAKER_01

It's because it's two actions and it's not very much at a time, so usually I'll just use my soothe. Uh monster with fast healing, you gains the given number of hit points each round at the beginning of its turn. You'll get eight on your turn, and you have eight temporary hit points right now.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Well, then it pops its turn.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Kill that guy.

SPEAKER_04

Uh damage? You would like that first, wouldn't you? I would. Let's get that cleared up. Does my second go down or do I have to attempt to retch?

SPEAKER_06

It does not go down, and I don't believe retching would help with this particular case. Cool.

SPEAKER_01

FYI, um, it might not matter right now, but you do take persistent damage at the end of each of your turns.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, thank you. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So my health goes up by eight. And then I don't have to do anything for that spell that was just cast on me. So we're going to um spark transcendence on Titanbreaker. I'm gonna shift that over to Thousand League Sandals, and here comes the big bonk. It's uh 13 on dice plus 19 for a 32.

SPEAKER_06

Are you sh uh off guard, feared one. I did the fear. I was looking at the fear. The off guard from flanking does make that a crit.

SPEAKER_07

Hell yeah. Nice. Nice. Hell yeah. He's dead. There's no way he's gonna survive this.

SPEAKER_06

He healed up a little bit.

SPEAKER_07

I don't care what happened.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh, not the best damage dice. Doesn't matter. Uh four. Still dead. 22 is 30, and even 30 twice is 60.

SPEAKER_06

I thought 30 was your final answer.

SPEAKER_04

60 damage. Splat.

SPEAKER_06

You successfully annihilate an exorcist.

SPEAKER_07

I like to think that you it's the second time you drove him into the ground, so he just boom gets all the way to ribbon down. Like you can see the top of his head right there at the ground.

SPEAKER_06

I think the entire head is above ground, it's just pasted flat across the 5-5 square.

SPEAKER_04

Uh so that's uh two actions. And then I will.

SPEAKER_06

Were you calculating your second and you're to hit?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, oh no, I was not. I'm sorry. Let's fix that.

SPEAKER_06

So it would have only been 31.

SPEAKER_04

That's my bad. Yeah, because it's one one per each condition, right? So yeah, it would have been 31. My bad.

SPEAKER_06

Just enough to critically. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, good. Fricking barely. And then I think Pops is going to use the last of his actions to move to the south here. And uh we're gonna try and cut off Fin Fang there. Yeah, Fin Fang. We're gonna get into a position sort of like that.

SPEAKER_06

You take 18 points of mental damage?

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Take your temporary hit points first. Oh, if you haven't already.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He took his eight cost healing.

SPEAKER_04

So it'll be it'll be ten. If I'm not again, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Okay. And that's my turn.

SPEAKER_06

Um, this other exorcist will take a step to the northwest. Look at Violet. Go alert the guards. Give me a will save.

SPEAKER_03

Um, twenty two. Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_06

Fail.

SPEAKER_03

No. Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_06

For the first action on your next turn, the creature must use a single action to do as you are commanded. Sick. And we're done. So, Violet, it is your turn.

SPEAKER_03

Alright. I'm gonna spend my action to get up to the door. Screaming the whole way.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's the first action, right?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Yeah. And then he stops at the door. And then I stop at the door. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Screaming the whole way.

SPEAKER_07

Screaming the whole way. Wait, what am I doing?

SPEAKER_03

Wait a minute. Violet, no! Oh jeez. I'm trying to get out of the. And then I'm gonna spend my uh why is it doing that?

SPEAKER_01

So use use your arrows on on your computer. It's just really hard. Go through Ari Space. Thank you.

SPEAKER_07

It's just really hard to get around this terrain in here. It's so tight.

SPEAKER_01

You have to go through Ari Space.

SPEAKER_03

Um so my first two actions are to move across the room trying to alert the guard and then to move back to try to fight. And my third action is gonna be a shielding taunt, so I'm gonna raise my shield and tell him he can only fight. You fight me! Bang on my shield.

SPEAKER_06

Gardas.

SPEAKER_07

I am going to follow Fin Fang. Fen Fang, so I am going to walk around this direction.

SPEAKER_01

To the left.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. And then get down here around the corner, and I can see Fin Feng there. And I'm going to uh point at her and say, you have been corrupted by Kugapti. Uh, take this. And I'm casting the ghost power spite. It's two actions. So Fin Feng, give me a will save.

SPEAKER_06

Natural twenty.

SPEAKER_07

Fuck you. Ghost powers are worthless. Never use them again. Stupid. Yeah, it might turn over.

SPEAKER_06

Uh then we will go to the beginning of round three.

SPEAKER_07

Uh Gardus like looks at his finger and. I thought that would have done something, I mean.

SPEAKER_06

Raises her hands to cast a spell on Pops. Give me a will save.

SPEAKER_04

Does that does it does that have a manipulate action?

SPEAKER_06

This does have a manipulate action.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh, then reactive strike. Do it. Okay, so.

SPEAKER_06

Nice.

SPEAKER_04

Uh you lash out a foe that leaves an opening, make a melee strike against the triggering creature.

unknown

Dang.

SPEAKER_04

Uh six on dice plus nineteen for twenty-five to hit.

SPEAKER_03

Miss. Dang.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

We'll save.

SPEAKER_04

We'll save. Uh 11 on dice. So uh twenty-eight.

SPEAKER_06

Bam. Dang. You will take.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, and second reduces that, doesn't it? Yes. By two.

SPEAKER_06

Fourteen points of mental damage.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

And she moves up to be closer to her exorcist buddy. And we'll go to Ari.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Ari will sustain him of healing on pops. So he'll get the eight temporary hit points. This lasts for one round.

SPEAKER_06

So keep in mind they don't stack, you just get eight now.

SPEAKER_01

He got a used it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, whatever.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. He didn't have any. Uh, and then you'll get your eight fast healing on your turn.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And then she'll start kind of like quietly playing the drums.

SPEAKER_00

She's like, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.

SPEAKER_01

And we'll do rallying anthem. So plus one to AC saves and resist two physical damage. And then she will move a little bit closer because she well, actually, she can see both of the people now. Um. She'll cast guidance on Violet. Last action. Get him, Vi!

SPEAKER_05

Alright, pops.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, I'll take my eight points of quick healing. And then I will move up to just south of Fin Fang. And we'll swing. Actually, I'm gonna spark Transcendence. Um, instead of a regular move, I'll spark Transcendence on Thousand League sandals. I don't think it's enough to reach anybody. Well, I suppose Violet could move if Violet wants to and has the reaction.

SPEAKER_06

Uh 15 or 30 feet.

SPEAKER_01

You just moved up to that space, so yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So we would have been everyone's yeah, too far. Unless it was 30 feet, then we might have been okay.

SPEAKER_01

And what's the point of sparking?

SPEAKER_04

Uh to get it back over into Titan Breaker so I can do more damage. Okay. And here comes the swing. 14 on dice for uh 33, minus two for a 31, plus one. No? Okay. 31?

SPEAKER_06

That's a hit.

SPEAKER_01

You said 32 minus two.

SPEAKER_04

Did I? Hold on. 14.

SPEAKER_01

What a 30 still hit. Okay, then it's fine.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was 33 minus two, so 30. Got it, got it. Sorry.

SPEAKER_06

Thanks, Courtney.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you, Courtney.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. Okay, here we go. 30 still hits. Here comes the damage. Nice. Good damage. Nice. That is 13 plus each ally within 10 feet. Okay. 25. 25 damage.

SPEAKER_06

As you strike her, she lets out a terrifying shriek. One that you know would alert uh other people. And her skin just kind of sloughs off. Cool.

SPEAKER_01

Gross.

SPEAKER_06

And you see this terrible skeleton figure, crimson butterflies just erupting out of the top of its head.

SPEAKER_01

I hate this, guys.

SPEAKER_07

I told you, she was corrupted by Kugopti.

SPEAKER_04

It's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

This isn't cool.

SPEAKER_07

I want to look at the other the other priest or whoever's in here with us. Does he seem weirded out by this? Like a little surprise. Yeah. See, she's touched by Kugopti. You should be on our side.

SPEAKER_04

Uh yeah, I will for my last action I'll do a diplomacy on the on the other guy. Do you see? Do you see who you have allied yourself with? You must fight with us.

SPEAKER_07

Kaimago's not who you think he is. Go ahead and roll it.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

10 plus diplomacy, 11 for uh 21 minus 2, I suppose, because I'm sickened. So 19.

SPEAKER_05

You're the one who came in here and killed my brother.

SPEAKER_01

Um you guys attacked first.

SPEAKER_07

Like actual brother or like brother monk brother.

SPEAKER_06

This attack is on Violet.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You have a plus one AC.

SPEAKER_03

Nice.

SPEAKER_06

That's a pretty good roll. That is a pretty good roll. 33.

SPEAKER_03

Uh barely.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. Purifying flames. Um, but uh but uh you need to use plus two side with the plus one my and the shield up my AC is 31.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Wow. I thought you were joking.

SPEAKER_03

Seriously.

SPEAKER_06

Must also attempt a will save. Plus one.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, did we do my damage?

SPEAKER_06

Oh, we didn't. 23.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you. 26 for the will save.

SPEAKER_06

DC 26.

SPEAKER_04

How long does that last for? I don't know. But he told me that I can't wretch to get rid of it, so.

SPEAKER_01

How are you doing?

SPEAKER_06

To get rid of your sickness?

SPEAKER_04

I'm fine. I'm over half still.

SPEAKER_01

Cool.

SPEAKER_06

Uh you will take.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wait, did this spell he's casting a spell?

SPEAKER_06

Uh not really. It's more of an ability.

SPEAKER_03

Is it a manipulate?

SPEAKER_06

No.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Set twelve points of fire damage.

SPEAKER_01

Twelve.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Oh.

SPEAKER_04

Dries the tears away.

SPEAKER_06

And four points of bludgeoning damage. No bludgeoning damage. No bludgeoning damage. You know they don't stack, right? You have more you have to. I get five points of thunk because it's just a few. I was just making sure you weren't stacking hers and and and yours. Um purifying flame, strike, violet, your turn. You have guidance.

SPEAKER_03

Um nice.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so I'll do uh raise my shield. And then um I kinda want to try something just because I haven't done it before, and I think life will be okay. Try it. He'll be fine. Here we go. Juggernaut charge. So I get to spend an action to move. So I'm just gonna move right here.

SPEAKER_01

Which is.

SPEAKER_03

Um and then right here is way one step over. I just over the wall. I'm trying to bully this guy around. Um then I get to spend an action to st or I get to strike. So this is a two-action deal, the whole thing. My strike is gonna be a 32. Nice.

SPEAKER_06

That's a hit.

SPEAKER_03

Alright. I still don't have any runes on anything, so my hits aren't great. Oh hey, max damage, 12 points of damage.

SPEAKER_06

What kind of damage?

SPEAKER_03

Uh piercing bitey damage. 12? Yep. Yep. And then because I hit, I am going to spend another action to move, and I get to drag this guy with me. So I'm gonna move over here, and I want to drag him so that he's in between me and Gardas.

SPEAKER_01

So he moves over to the And the drag is like free, you don't have to roll athletic or anything.

SPEAKER_03

It's free.

unknown

Cool.

SPEAKER_03

Juggernaut charge. Super cool. So yeah, he just I bit him and then like closed him into my armor and then just took off running.

unknown

You're coming with me.

SPEAKER_04

It smells terrible.

SPEAKER_03

So I've just repositioned a man, and now me and Jeff get to wail on him. Flank him.

SPEAKER_06

Alright, Jeff. Go ahead and wail on him.

SPEAKER_07

You shouldn't allied yourself with Kugapti. I say it all creepy like that. As I let's start off and just do a strike. 24 to hit with flanking. Well, I mean, I haven't 24 to hit.

SPEAKER_05

24 is a hit.

SPEAKER_07

Alright. 20 points of damage. Okay. Let's see. What else do I have? I'm wondering if I want to just do something else. I mean, I could just keep beating on him. You're not down any hit points, are you?

SPEAKER_03

Just a little bit.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. I'm not down any hit points.

SPEAKER_03

I'm down 12.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, that's yeah, that's barely anything. Um I don't really think there's much of a spell that I want to cast. Give him the chop. Chop him up. Oh shit, there's something else I could have done, but it now it's in the wrong order. Tanderize him. So I don't want to do that. Okay. I guess I will chop him again. Um, so this takes the map. It's the exact same thing. Uh your map? Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yep.

SPEAKER_07

So that's also a hit, then. Girl again. Ooh, better damage though. 30 points of damage.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Um, and then I'm going to cast shield on myself.

SPEAKER_06

And then it is the top of round four. This thing continues to wail and sob. Everyone needs to give me a will save.

SPEAKER_01

Plus one.

SPEAKER_04

30. Also 30.

SPEAKER_01

21, I believe.

SPEAKER_07

That's not gonna do it.

SPEAKER_01

21.

SPEAKER_07

I'll be fine. I'll um Who's screaming? Fin Fang?

SPEAKER_06

Whatever once was Fin Fang.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's probably bad.

SPEAKER_07

It probably is. But I don't know if I I don't want I don't honestly I don't want to spend a hero. Point. I'm gonna take that. So it's a dirty 20.

SPEAKER_01

You added your plus one.

SPEAKER_06

Violet and pops pass are unaffected. The other two failed. Very close to a critical fail there, Gardas. Uh those of you that failed, Ari, Gardas are stunned one.

SPEAKER_07

You're close to a critical fail. Ouch. That's nothing. Ouch.

SPEAKER_06

And then it is going to claw strike pops.

SPEAKER_07

Bring it. Shake it off.

SPEAKER_06

Shake it off. 34.

SPEAKER_04

That is a hit. No crit, thankfully.

SPEAKER_06

So it is going to be 21 points of slashing.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Uh 19.

SPEAKER_06

19, thank you. And three points of mental. So 22 total. Got it. And then we will go to Ari.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Stunge doesn't affect spell casting.

SPEAKER_06

It's just an action. Okay. So like you lose your action and now you're able to operate normally.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so Ari will sustain her him of healing on um pops. So he'll get the eight temporary now, eight on his turn. And then she will continue with uh rallying anthem. So AC saves resist two physical damage. She's just like, come on guys, we can do it. We're better than them.

SPEAKER_06

And then pops.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Take my healing.

SPEAKER_06

And your attempt.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. And we're gonna spark Transcendence on Titan Breaker. Shift that over to Scars of the Survivor. Here comes the boss. Ooh. Five on dice. Plus 19, 24, minus two. Miss 22. Dang, big whiff. Oh, I'll give uh the radiance to Violet. Okay. Yeah, I'll take it. 16 hit points.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And then Is there anything stopping me from sparking eminence twice on a turn? Or can I only do it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you can only do it once. Okay. It's a flourish.

SPEAKER_04

Then I will The rules. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We could ignore that.

SPEAKER_04

I will uh I'll swing again, why not? Uh ten on dice turns into a five. Twenty uh same same swing.

SPEAKER_06

Same miss. You take fifteen points of mental damage.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

This exorcist trapped between Violet and Gardas quickly pours some oil over his torch, and you two need to give me a fortitude save.

SPEAKER_07

What do you think you're doing? Stop that. 31?

SPEAKER_01

Plus one.

SPEAKER_07

32.

SPEAKER_04

23. Oh, did I have um hit points taken away from?

SPEAKER_06

I didn't tell you 15? I thought I told you 15.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay. I thought that was true. Okay, never mind, you're good.

SPEAKER_06

Violet, you are unaffected.

SPEAKER_07

Gardus, you are sickened to sickened to from fire? This doesn't make any sense.

SPEAKER_06

Uh last action.

SPEAKER_01

So yes.

SPEAKER_06

Uh he doesn't like your attitude, Gardas, so he's gonna swing his torch at you.

SPEAKER_01

I told you to change your attitude, Gardas. Biting you in the ass.

SPEAKER_07

So I'd rather that this son of a bitch right here not like my attitude.

SPEAKER_03

He's got a minus one to his attack.

SPEAKER_06

How long does taunt last?

SPEAKER_03

Until I taunt somebody else or he dies.

SPEAKER_06

It's not like a one-action, one-turn thing.

SPEAKER_03

Nope.

SPEAKER_06

That's bullshit.

SPEAKER_03

It's pretty strong. It's like the entire class feature.

SPEAKER_06

Will you read it so people know what's going on? So it's just a minus one.

SPEAKER_03

With an attention-grabbing gesture, noise, cutting remark, or threatening shout, you attempt to draw an enemy to you instead of your allies. Taunt gains the auditory trait, visual trait, or both, depending on how you draw the target's attention. Even mindless creatures are drawn to your taunts. Choose an enemy within 30 feet. You want to be your taunted enemy. If you taunt the enemy if the taunted enemy takes a hostile action that includes at least one of your allies but doesn't include you, they take a minus one penalty to their attack rolls and DCs for that action. They also become off guard until the start of their next turn. Your enemy remains taunted until the st wait. Oh, there is a thing. Never mind.

SPEAKER_06

Keep going.

SPEAKER_03

Your enemy remains taunted until the start of your next turn, and you can have only one taunt at a time, taunting a new enemy ends his effect uh of any current target. So I mean, I have uh the that's must be why I took the shielding taunt. So every time I raise my shield, I just taunt. Got it.

SPEAKER_06

But you didn't raise your shield last turn, did you?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I did. I raised my shield and I did a juggernaut charge. Got it.

SPEAKER_06

Uh okay. So is he taunted?

SPEAKER_03

Um I didn't call it last time, so I'm gonna say no.

SPEAKER_07

If you you raised your shield though, follow the rules. Is this a new one?

SPEAKER_06

I mean, there is a grace period because it's new, but it is funny that you don't know how it works. Uh yeah. I mean if you want to make it. If you're very confident with how you were like, it's until I do it. You should read it just so people know.

SPEAKER_01

So when you raise your shield, they become taunted. Yeah. Um okay. So I guess it's a call from you if you're allowing it.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I looked at Kyle and I was like, and he's like, no. Yeah. I'm like, no. I think you would be. Yeah. You just don't know how your stuff works.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I agree. That's 100% true. Okay. Alright, he can be taunted.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. It's a 33 to hit Gardis.

SPEAKER_03

Uh hit. Regular hit. Okay. I'm gonna spend a reaction to intercept the attack.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So you get to roll the damage.

SPEAKER_06

Yep, I'm rolling damage. Uh nine points of bludgeoning damage. Seven. Well, it's better resistance.

SPEAKER_03

Four points of bludgeoning damage.

SPEAKER_07

So you just take the attack? Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And six points of fire.

SPEAKER_07

I don't take any damage.

SPEAKER_03

You don't take any damage.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, the six points of fire?

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

It is your turn, Violet.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Uh raised shield and taunt. Okay. Um and then I got two actions, which feels like more than I need, so I guess I'm gonna.

SPEAKER_01

Your guy's off guard, right?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I mean he's off guard anyways because he's playing.

SPEAKER_01

Got it. I can't see.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I'm gonna go ahead and try to bite him. That's a natural two for uh 19.

SPEAKER_06

Miss.

SPEAKER_03

Alright. Um, and then I'm going to try to bite him again.

SPEAKER_06

Miss.

SPEAKER_03

And that's a three. Oh, is it critical? Well, oh, I don't know. Um 15. You drop your teeth. So close. So close. You drop your teeth. Your dentures fall out.

SPEAKER_07

Hmm.

SPEAKER_06

Currently sickened two.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. All checks and DCs. And I'm stunned one, so I only have two actions on this turn. Mm-hmm. Rough. Um. I'm going to raise my finger and point at him. And say, This is what you get when you ally with yourself with Kugapdi. And make a will save.

SPEAKER_06

Will save.

SPEAKER_07

Fail it this time. For the story. Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_06

Twenty-four.

SPEAKER_07

The story requires you to fail it.

SPEAKER_06

Umesn't seem like a good role.

SPEAKER_07

It's not great. I guess it's just my spell DC. Which is 24.

SPEAKER_01

Why is it 24?

SPEAKER_07

I don't know. This doesn't say why is my spell DC 24?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know, it just always has been. Hasn't changed once. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Mine's 26.

SPEAKER_03

War priests don't accelerate as fast on their casting proficiency. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Because you suck.

SPEAKER_03

Plus the minus two to your DC.

SPEAKER_07

So a normal success, but the target's skin itches uncontrollably. If the target doesn't spend an action to scratch at the itch, they become off guard until the start of their next turn. This effect lasts for one minute.

SPEAKER_01

They're itchy now.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, two actions you're done.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's two actions, I'm done. I thought that would do more.

SPEAKER_06

To the top of round five as this creature looks to pops. Again, just red, crimson tears streaming from its eyes, butterflies erupting from its head. It raises its clawed hand, and we fake the play.

SPEAKER_07

Well, there's your problem.

SPEAKER_04

It's funny that that's number three on the troubleshooting list.

SPEAKER_01

Turn it on. It is funny when like during surgery, if there's something that's not working and just like hopefully turning it off and on again is gonna help. Otherwise, that's all I can do. I can plug it in again.

SPEAKER_07

Otherwise, I don't really know how to fix it.

SPEAKER_01

It's broken. I guess you don't need cottery.

SPEAKER_04

We're gonna have to do this the old-fashioned way.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, I'm ready. With a with a fire bow. Yeah. You rub the stick until it gets really hot and then you put it on there. Surgical fire. Give me a sterile fire in here.

SPEAKER_01

It's an intentional fire, okay? Not a problem. Don't freak out.

SPEAKER_04

Give me the surgical axe.

SPEAKER_01

I am terrified of a fire in the OR.

SPEAKER_04

Those places are mazes. Fires?

SPEAKER_07

Well, hospitals. Oh yeah. Hospitals are all mazes because like they get built up as the community expands. Yeah. So you have one little building and then they have to build another building like on top of that to make it bigger and stuff. So that's why hospitals are all just mazes. What'd you say?

SPEAKER_06

Our endoscopy department lost an inmate last night.

SPEAKER_04

Lost him? To the end of and and and I can't say it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Did they find him again? Three hours later, they got their EGD.

SPEAKER_07

Oh. Our endoscopy department punctured a hole in somebody's bowel last night.

SPEAKER_01

She sounded like she had a lot going on.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, she had cancer. It kind of just tore open. It probably would have done it on its own. But still. It sucks. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

But they didn't they didn't know until later, right? Like they did the EG or the um the colonoscopy, and then the patient's like, I have pain.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but then she had free air in her abdomen.

SPEAKER_01

Oof. Poor thing.

SPEAKER_03

That sucks. My colon is intact.

SPEAKER_01

That's good. As far as you know.

SPEAKER_03

As far as you know. They looked at it with a camera like a year ago. Yeah. But it's been a year so far so good.

SPEAKER_04

The night is long and you sleep hard. Like, what are you doing now? You're talking about.

SPEAKER_07

I practice medicine, all right.

SPEAKER_00

Brotherly love, okay.

SPEAKER_07

I wanted to bring something up. Like when you were talking about last week, Kyle, uh what was it? The looking up our humor being a deeply controversial humor. Deeply controversial humor. It reminded me of that the other I made a joke to my family. Uh we were driving past where I had just been shooting, and I'm like, oh yeah, the shooting range is just over on the other side of that Amazon building. And my daughter and wife kind of joke, like, how are you how can you shoot over there? Won't the like how you're shooting at the Amazon building? And I'm like, uh, those people are better off dead anyways. My daughter didn't appreciate that.

SPEAKER_01

She's like, that's mean, Dad. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That was my favorite like headline ever was that Amazon switched over to robots and then they had to install air conditioning because it was too hot for the robots to operate in a factory that they'd had people working in for the last however many years. Yeah. It's pretty messed up.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, they care about robots more than people.

SPEAKER_01

Um, if the robots can't function, then they don't have any business. The robots are more expensive. Yeah. Exactly.

SPEAKER_07

That's what I laugh at is paying for their healthcare. Yeah. All of these companies replacing people with AI, now that the AI companies have actually started charging for use, it's become more expensive to run the AI than it was to just pay the people. Yeah. Like that's what these companies are finding, and it's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it wasn't quite ready for release yet.

SPEAKER_07

No. No, not at all. Needs another 10 years at least.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, for fun, you know. Right, right.

SPEAKER_07

For a fucking chatbot. But when you give chatbot that like the power to refund people's money, yeah, it doesn't work.

SPEAKER_03

I wonder if I can convince a chatbot that I did make a purchase that it doesn't have a record of it.

SPEAKER_07

100% you can. Probably. It is so easy to do. Somebody convinced a chatbot to give them like the password to Obama's uh Twitter account just by asking it. You didn't even have to trick it. You just asked for it and it gave them the password. It's right here.

SPEAKER_01

What else do you want?

SPEAKER_04

Stop bullying me.

SPEAKER_01

They're super sensitive.

SPEAKER_02

Do you know how many dumb questions I've had to answer today? Yes, you need to go to the hospital. For God's sake. That's the last time I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_01

It's probably cancer, but it's fine. You can wait.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. And also, you should not use me for medical advice.

SPEAKER_04

Listen, you're gonna sharpen your melon baller, all right? It's not that hard.

SPEAKER_07

Getting deep behind your eye.

SPEAKER_06

That's where you'll find your eye.

SPEAKER_04

It's attached to the flavor zone.

SPEAKER_06

The one time I had it tell me that otters had gills. Yeah, that was where it's skin gills.
