Close your eyes.
SPEAKER_01This ear we haven't even just do it. Okay. Have we started? Apparently. Alright. You can open them. Welcome back to the this stupid fucking episode.
SPEAKER_07Welcome back. Today we're talking about how old is too old? To big kids, essentially. This is a cool gangster dino beanie. Do I get one?
SPEAKER_09Oh hell yeah. Hell yeah, dino beanie episode, fellas.
SPEAKER_06We're all dinos. Because we're gonna talk about growing up.
SPEAKER_07So we gotta act like children today.
SPEAKER_01Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_07Mine on straight.
SPEAKER_03Can you guys see me? Maybe my camera will actually focus on me. Now I have a big green thing on my head. Toomie's got six sets of eyes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so we are talking about how old is too old. Now, um the people who are listening are probably taking that out of context. Yeah. Um, JP, explain because when you told me the first time, it sounded a little bit sus. And I was about to call child protection services on this fella.
SPEAKER_07Well, first of all, I brought it in. I was like, do we call it how old is too old? And then I flipped it and I said, nope, that is not gonna be the title at all. Yeah, no, I don't think so. I don't think so. No, essentially, it's the age-old question of do you grind in your 20s or like straight out of school to live more freely in your 30s and so on? Or do you live straight out of school, like traveling and doing whatever, and then grind later on? And then talking about that, you know, where you start. Like, is going into a trade like dropping out of school at 16 to go do a trade too early to know what you're doing?
SPEAKER_02Alright. So I think I've got a little bit of experience in this background because I had kids young. I didn't go into uh an apprenticeship until I was 25. So a little bit later. Um, I did everything very, very young. Now I could be biased, but I think that's probably the best way to do it because by the time you're older, you're not gonna have as much energy as you did when you were younger. So I feel like doing everything younger is better because you're gonna achieve more, you're gonna have more energy, you're gonna have more.
SPEAKER_07Would you say you have less energy now?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_07Okay, keep going, sorry.
SPEAKER_06What you just you know, later on you won't have as much energy and then immediately no, I'm fine.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm not old. Alright. To me can't look at me like that. I'm not old.
SPEAKER_03I think having a couple kids puts some years on you, although I'm maybe I'm back in To me here.
SPEAKER_02So you obviously seen the boys that I trained with.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, yeah, sorry. Right? They've had a rough life, and they're only just starting to now get more uh conscious and they're starting to do things that they want to do that I feel like you should be doing younger. That's where they went down the path of like not like nothing's wrong and right, but they went down the path of like drinking and drugs.
SPEAKER_07So they definitely did the wrong thing.
SPEAKER_02If you ask them, probably probably probably we can just assume that if you get so and then I went down the path of like having kids and I got married and did my apprenticeship at at 25, which is a a little bit later, but I feel like I wish that I did an apprenticeship younger while the kids were still younger, so then I had more time to because like now it's only now that I'm financially comfortable. Yeah, you got that freedom. Yeah, as where my tradie, the first, the second tradie that I worked with, he's your age. Yeah. And dude's got a house, he's got a car, he's and he's got a missus, he doesn't have kids or anything yet, but bro's set. He is technically, yeah. He's he's well set up. So I I think doing an apprenticeship younger, but then also there's also the I wish I started the cold content thing younger as well. There's so you believe starting everything younger is probably the best way to go.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Would you change anything you've done?
SPEAKER_08Like in order? Yeah. Yes, I would start the content creation way earlier. Anything else you would change in your life?
SPEAKER_07No. True. I feel like we've had this conversation before, actually.
SPEAKER_02I I love the fact that I had kids young. I love the fact that I got married young. Like you're a nobody now.
SPEAKER_07I mean, I always was.
SPEAKER_02I've well, yeah, you've always been a nobody. So like I'm way more superior than you.
SPEAKER_07In which way?
SPEAKER_02I'm rich. Not with money. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07What do you have?
SPEAKER_02Kids. Rather, in my eyes, it makes you poor. I can confirm. You have three children. Money-wise, it makes me poor. Emotionally, no, it doesn't. I could makes me rich. What do you think? Or Tumi, what do you think?
SPEAKER_07When did you get into this or that or whatever it is called?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, in terms of being too I I was definitely different than everyone else my age after school. Like, I'm like the only person that didn't go to university because I didn't studying more didn't make sense to me. I wanted to just start earning. I mean, I was working pretty much full-time hours when I was like 16 through college. I was working like a video game store. So I had got used to making money at quite a young age and going to university, which was going to put me in debt, didn't make sense. And I always think like my 20s, like my early 20s, late teens, or whatever were like the best years of my life because I was earning enough money to do anything that I wanted to do at that age. Um, I didn't go to uni, but all my friends did, so I'd get to go to all the parties and stuff. And I feel like I let I lived a very full experience at a young age without ever like studying or committing to a career, you know. Now, all these years later, mid-30s, and like I do have concerns sometimes that I don't have something to fall back on, like I don't have any formal education or like you know, an apprenticeship trade, whatever. Um, I'm very much just relying on the skills I've taught myself over the years. Well, again, would I change anything? No, I mean I love the way that I did my life, my 20s, coming into my 30s. Um, I I wish I had more things now, maybe, than I do, but I wouldn't change the way that I approached or did anything.
SPEAKER_02But I mean, look at you now. You're on a super successful podcast that generates millions of dollars.
SPEAKER_07Wearing a cool dinosaur.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're not. Yeah, look at me now. Look at you now. Younger self would be. You know what? I would redo some shit.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I'm done. Well, what about would you give yourself younger self some advice in your like uh, for example, at my I'm 24. Like, would you give if your younger self at 24? What would you say to me? Take your beanie off. I wasn't wearing a beanie the whole start. Take yours off. Can't afford that much light exposure in here.
SPEAKER_03No, I mean, my whole ethos in life is just to live life. Like, I was never wanted to be committed to a career or you know, a study, because I always just wanted to kind of go whichever path I wanted to go and leave paths open to lead me to wherever opportunities may arise, as opposed to just committing to one strict path. So that's always the way I've wanted to live. And like that's the advice I would kind of give my 24. I mean, it's kind of how I lived my life, but that would be my advice to a 24-year-old is to grab any opportunity you can because opportunities get thinner as you get older. So when you're in your 20s and you live a social life or whatever, um, you're gonna have more opportunities to travel or more opportunities to work with in different industries or with different people or whatever. Um, and that's always a big thing for me is just leaving yourself open to those opportunities, especially. I mean, I feel like 20-year-olds should be discovering more about themselves than committing to a full-time career at that age. I feel like your mid-20s, you know, 20 through to 30, um is like prime living years. That's the years to go out, travel, make mistakes, you know. Like I, you know, when I see people that have been with their partner, I mean, you've been with your partner from a very young age, right? Um, but I feel like a lot of relationships, obviously, you guys are great. But I see a lot of relationships where I'm like, yeah, it makes sense that you hate each other because you committed at such a young age and you kind of forced yourself into this commitment that maybe necessarily doesn't work. Maybe you are a bit incompatible now that you've matured into adults, you know.
SPEAKER_02And it does too. It it it it 100% changes. Like we, I think there's a few things that I want to go over with what you just said. Um when we first had Macy, we were about to split because we weren't compatible. Like, I didn't know, I wouldn't say not compatible, but it was like the first part of having a child was like we were learning, we were maturing, and like we didn't know if we were we were compatible, but it ended out we were, um which is good. But yeah, like I see like all of my friends that I've hung out with not all of them, sorry, um that I've known for like 10 years or so have split with their partners because they just hate each other. Like they're always arguing, they're always and me, like me and Michaela will can't like we will look at each other and go, why are we weird? Like because we barely argue. We bag each other out, we call each other names, like but that's just like the banter, like she's she's my best friend, and I don't think I'd want it any other way. But I think yeah, as you mature, if you've been in a younger relationship uh relationship since a a a young age, shit's gonna change. Especially because apparently your brain stops developing at 25. So after that, you could be a whole different person to what you were when you were 20. And the whole opportunity thing, it's funny you brought that up because I was watching a video about um how successful people are lucky. But luck equals opportunity, and if you're not ready for that opportunity, luck, then you you're not gonna be like lucky. So, like you said, you gotta open yourself and stay open to opportunities, and like any opportunity that I get, I'm gonna take or I'm gonna try because I don't know what is it could lead me somewhere completely different. So I feel like if there is anyone young out there that doesn't know what to do, just like you said, try fucking everything, try anything. Like you don't have to commit to an apprenticeship or even do an apprenticeship so you have that safe bet to fall on. But while you're doing your apprenticeship, try different shit. Go travel and fucking you know, yeah. There's no I don't oh damn, damn. It took us a long time last time to get coins. We need to get coins, we're back at it. So yeah, I think I think you should do as much as you can. I wish I started content creation early. I'm glad I had kids early. I'm glad I got married early, glad I bought a house early. Especially in today. Yeah, especially in today's age. Because now it's at at the point now where I'm like, I've already done all the big milestone stuff. I've I've experienced them.
SPEAKER_07And now I'm what are you gonna prestige or something? Huh? You're prestiging now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, with this.
SPEAKER_07Is this prestigious?
SPEAKER_02This is prestige.
SPEAKER_07Start again. Yeah, business. You're entrepreneur style, business number two.
SPEAKER_02Business number two.
SPEAKER_07What's number three? Your mom. Oh shit. Sorry. By then she might be underground. That's right. I I still hit it.
SPEAKER_02Nail in the coffin. Yeah. So I don't know. What do you think? No one really cares, honestly. So what do you think?
SPEAKER_07No, what's weird? Like, when you're talking about doing the apprenticeship early, like when I went to TAFE to do all my apprenticeship stuff, it was weird to see the fact that I was probably the second youngest. Like when I started TAFE, I was 21. And I finished TAFE, and majority of my class were either 30 or above.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_07I remember my first year being with a two blokes. One of them. Damn, no one really made a joke there. I thought it was gonna happen. You guys looked away, but no. No, I heard it.
SPEAKER_03I was looking at Snap to chime in.
SPEAKER_01I like Luke's is just I got told that I interrupt too much.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because he's gonna be able to do it. Um go on, tell us about these two blokes.
SPEAKER_01One of them was like 52, I think.
SPEAKER_07Oh, go on for the oldies. Hell yeah. Jesus Christ. I remember rocking up and being like, brother, the teacher isn't even like 30 yet.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07It was a weird experience to see how many people do their apprenticeship later. But it's also it's not a bad thing either.
SPEAKER_02Like you could like if you're if you're retired. Well, I mean, that's maybe too old. What were you gonna say? Retired.
SPEAKER_06If you're retired, like you could go out and do an apprenticeship, but like I would love to see some eight-year-old go try and be an apprentice.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. I mean, 50 sounds way older than I. I would think of myself and be like, oh, there's no way I'm too old. But as an apprenticeship, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like to do an apprenticeship. Yeah, bro. Why not like I'm I'm thinking about doing my chippy apprenticeship. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, you're never too old, I guess.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I know people that are in their 50s, not studying like apprenticeships, but like studying, getting their like masters and stuff in their like 50s.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but yeah, it's wild. I I would commit to a second apprenticeship. If anything, I'd do like an auto-sparky to like because it links into all I do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But at the same time, like that's the only thing is that if I do a second apprenticeship, I have to take a huge pay cut to do it for four years. And that's adds up a lot. Yeah. Not even like a small amount, like a lot.
SPEAKER_07A lot. Like you're instantly less than half. Like you're two-thirds of your wage gone.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would go from like a millionaire to like $30. A peasant. $30.
SPEAKER_07You'd be living off bloody two dollar hamburgers rice. Yeah. Oh, rice, maybe, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's um yeah, I don't it it's I don't know. But then it also comes down to like not necessarily work-wise, but like mentally wise. Like, is it like why is it frowned upon for adults to be childish?
SPEAKER_07Because sorry, let me just pull up my notes again. Oh, it's prepared.
SPEAKER_02Can't can't go off the car.
SPEAKER_07It just says dinosaur. Do you think you're victimweight? What the fuck? Do you think you're too skinny now? No. I think you're getting skinny.
SPEAKER_02I think you look at yourself and you you tell yourself everything that I'm a fat piece of shit blob. And then you look at me and you go, wow, he's he's lean. I'm gonna look at him and call him victim weight. You are a victim weight. You try and hurt me and my feelings, but they're just No no, I'm genuinely curious.
SPEAKER_07Do you think you're too light? No. You said that last night at the gym or the day before.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but you go through stages when you're like, like some days you think you'll look big, some days you think you look skinny.
SPEAKER_04Huh? Did you fight between that?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_04I swear to God, you farted.
SPEAKER_02No, I just, you know, yesterday it was just what I was saying. Well, I just felt like I looked skinny.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02But then Mikala took a photo of my back this afternoon.
SPEAKER_07Ugh.
unknownSorry to me.
SPEAKER_07Yes, to add it out. Um, anyway, back to where we were saying childish, adults acting childish. I do think there is a cutoff, Mark. I think if you're 30. It's hard to define childish nowadays because I worked with a I worked with a bloke who's his name. Who he doesn't look old. Like he he looks like he's maybe, you know, 20 something, maybe 22. He was actually like mid-30s. And he acted like he was a child, like at the 18 mark. There's a time and place for it. And uh just it got to me. I was like, come on. How? How would he act childish? You know when someone would just keep making like uh stupid jokes to a degree that no one laughs, or like you'll you'll think they own the world and they know what's right even though they're wrong, and you can't tell them that they're doing something wrong.
SPEAKER_02So it's like my co-host actually.
SPEAKER_08Well oh, what's his name? Uh face over here.
SPEAKER_07And I was like, at that point, it's kind of like you use the words of become a mate to grow up.
SPEAKER_02There's a yeah, there's a time and place for it. Like if you you almost have to read a room. If you're throwing out jokes and shit and you're just like, oh and no one's like no one's really gone for it, you're kind of like, okay, well, I'm not really gonna do it then. But like I'll always act like a child around my kids.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but that's it's weird with someone that doesn't have kids and with kids because there's a lot more exception involved. Because if you're an adult and you treat your children like you're an adult, like I would. Like, you know, your kids come around like, yo, hello, sir.
SPEAKER_02How are we? Go in the kitchen because they're all daughters. He actually likes to make sure that all of my daughters go in the kitchen first before he greets them.
SPEAKER_07Otherwise, beat their ass. They're gonna make me a sandwich, each and every one of them. My fat ass needs three sandwiches. First time I met them, wouldn't you say that I was gonna punch him?
SPEAKER_02He's I mean I threatened to punch him. He's so awkward around my kids, and it's so weird. It's so weird.
SPEAKER_07Why?
SPEAKER_02Because like you go from someone that's like doesn't like that doesn't know like you go from someone that's like not socially awkward to someone that is so socially awkward that the only thing that is different is my kids.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, the people I just tell them when I come over.
SPEAKER_03Just I I relate to that. I don't I I'm I freeze up around kids. I don't know how to do it. Bro, you were fine. Yeah, I mean, yeah. Not like he I didn't have to do much then, you know. But like a kid came up to me chatting when I was with my dog yesterday at the park, cycles over. I mean, yeah, I'm trying to train my dog. But he came over, like, sorry to disturb your dog. And I'm like, Why are you even apologising? But then he had like a million questions, like he was like, So what you doing? I'm like, Oh, just training her to like focus on me. And he's like, Why? And I'm like, I don't know how to explain this to me. For your infant little brain. That's like a five dollar one there. Um, and just the whole time internally, I'm just screaming, like, leave me alone. I don't under I don't know how to speak to you. Like, I'm just waffling. If an adult could hear me, they'd think like, the fuck is this guy chatting about?
SPEAKER_07I wonder if that's a form of autism. You gotta learn to straight face it. Oh, the face dude he just made. Um, you just gotta learn to straight face it. And then like start squeeze, you're like, Yeah, yeah, I was like, sorry, but then but then you come across as a dick. And they'll go away eventually.
SPEAKER_01No, they won't. Yes, they will. No, they won't. They'll just keep going.
SPEAKER_06Throat punch him quickly.
SPEAKER_02Do you reckon you could like do you reckon you would ever punch a kid? I would shit out.
SPEAKER_03But you know what's really fun is kids are the perfect height to like fart in their face and no one knows nothing. Like when we were at Disney World and there's just kids everywhere and you're stood in line, I'd just be like, I just fartted in that kid's face.
SPEAKER_07I always like if I'm walking past, I'll just like see someone over hashtag drive by.
SPEAKER_06But I'll say it every time they have no idea what's going on. They're like, sorry, sir. Like, drive by next thing you know, the child's just on the floor. He died.
SPEAKER_02Uh, that is. I mean, look, there is a video of me farting in Macy's face when she was very young.
SPEAKER_01I was like, oh my god, you're walking, you're walking. I fart it on Doug the other day. See, this is this is fine. This is childish. This is good. It is. It's okay to fart on people. Especially pets.
SPEAKER_03Like, I'm doing my dog a favor. If I if I fart, she comes running. What's the favorite? What's the favorite of the smell? If I fart, the dog comes running over, like, yes, please.
SPEAKER_01He's like, come in your papa. I'll just make that in.
SPEAKER_07That's oh that is hilarious. All I can imagine is your dog and a little space helmet and that scene from Jackass.
SPEAKER_01You know exactly what I'm doing with it. Uh so the favor is is that you're giving your dog some sniffly bits. Time to sniff. Smells, they love smells. Have you seen dogs? They love smells.
SPEAKER_02What's the what's the the sensory smell? Compared to a human.
SPEAKER_03I mean, next 25?
SPEAKER_02What number are you putting on? Just 40,000 times better money. Because apparently their scent can show them the past. What are you doing?
SPEAKER_01They're like, this dude's breadth rushing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I've been now flashed back. The trees, they're speaking.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, apparently when like dogs, like you see dogs when they go into places like Bunnings or like cafes or whatever. And they're just sniffing and they can see like shadows of what dogs have been in there before.
SPEAKER_08I wouldn't use it's true.
SPEAKER_05They wouldn't see shadows.
SPEAKER_02First of all, I Googled it. It's true. I jubbled it. I jubled it. It's super true. It's 100% true, actually. I'll believe you.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I believe you.
SPEAKER_02So dogs actually have superpowers. They can see in the past.
SPEAKER_07Also, I feel like Toomie would go to Bunnings and fart on another dog.
SPEAKER_01I was just saying hello. I could imagine I go to Bunnings. That's your way to say hello to dogs. Sniff my asshole.
SPEAKER_03Dog owners are always wondering why does my dog want to go for that guy's ass?
SPEAKER_01Why is his dick so bad?
SPEAKER_05Ah so crooked.
SPEAKER_02Yes, put your asshole on my dog's nose so he can say hello. It is never too old to be childish.
SPEAKER_03I think in terms of getting old, like you need to be responsible at some point. Like, you know, by the time you hit like mid-30s, like my age, like you should have a general handle on your finances. And I'm a very bad example, but most people should be, you know, you should have an idea of what you're doing at that point, at least.
SPEAKER_07What is financially stable?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like you can put savings aside. You can afford to live, rent, food, luxuries, while also you should be putting savings aside. I think that's financially stable. If you're owning enough money to live and save, that's financially stable. What are you giggling at? That is the thought of you farting on your dog's nose, just I lost it. I don't fart on her nose. She hears a little toot and she comes sauntering over, like, yes, please, Daddy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know. Sorry. Um, yeah. Definitely financial, financial uh what's the word? Stability. Not freedom, but like yes, stability. I guess financial freedom would be like you're rich and you don't have to worry about money again.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you can buy whatever you want whenever you want, and not even this podcast. Like, and it's nice.
SPEAKER_07If you want to spend without looking at the price tag, you've got to be able to work without looking at the clock. It's a bullshit.
unknownFuck up.
SPEAKER_03I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Perfect.
SPEAKER_03I'm always looking at the clock.
SPEAKER_07Brother.
SPEAKER_03That's the entrepreneur mentality of you don't get paid by hour, you get paid by yeah.
SPEAKER_07Honestly, this is the biggest debate I've ever had in my life is the pain in the ass of paid by the job versus paid by the hour. Well, I'm paid by the job. I would kill to be paid by the job over paid by the hour.
SPEAKER_03Oh, 100%. I'd rather be paid by the hour, I think. Because I charge per job and they always take way longer than I think. So you're a bad entrepreneur? Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So like I said, is that because you're making it a little bit longer? So you can charge more? Charge more? But I'm not charging more. But if you're getting paid by the hour, you can stretch it out. That's the whole thing with apprentices like just uh like dawdling and just oh, I'm paid by the hour. Don't worry about it.
SPEAKER_03No, I mean, I'm typically I'm working through a job as fast as I can because I'm well aware the less time I spend on this, the more money I'm making per hour, right? The quicker I can get this job done. And it always like I'll in my head I'll do a quote thinking it's four hours work and it'll end up being more like eight.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, so yeah. Sometimes being charged by the hour, but then you'd of course, well, how much do you charge per hour? Would it really make that much of a difference?
SPEAKER_07But yeah, there's a lot to go into it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I like if I was to get paid by the hour, I would definitely not be making as much.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. See, that's the difference of being good in your field versus being bad. Like, because you can work with people like at a paid per hour job. You can do twice as much work, but at the end of the day, you're still getting the same amount of money as old Joe Bob over here. Exactly. And that tweaks me.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I uh Yeah, getting paid hourly.
SPEAKER_02Fucked out. So I don't have any coins left. I'm gonna have to go to bank.
SPEAKER_03You do have one for the bigger one.
SPEAKER_02There's one toxic. There's that's a two dollar coin. So how many F's do you get? I'm gonna say the rest of this episode and then I'll put it in there. Yeah, I got one fee left. Yeah. Um I I think that I don't think financial I mean, yeah, I I do agree by the time you're 30 you should have somewhat grasp on how to live. Let's push it. Let's go, let's push it a little 40 just to give you a little bit more extra time. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I was way more set up in my 30 when I was 30 than I am now at 35, but I started from scratch at 35. So yeah, well, by the time you're 40, you should be prestiged.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you should you you should be rich.
SPEAKER_03But it goes back to me leaving you know opportunities open. I do believe that, yeah, I've started from scratch, but it's not the first time. This is like the third time I've started from scratch, and I've ended up being successful every time, which is why I was willing to do it because I'm like, I've done it before, I'll do it again. Yep. Um, and it goes back to I'm open for opportunities wherever the road may lead me. You know what I mean? And I'm not beyond getting, if things got real desperate, doing anything I had to do. Like also my asshole on the corner. I don't mind that. Uh no, like I would get a part-time job stacking shelves or whatever. Like last time I did it, 2019. Uh, I was working part-time in a vape shop vape shop just to help me get by while I still had full-time more time to work on my hobby at the time or videography.
SPEAKER_02Do you want to come be my labourer?
SPEAKER_03I think, yeah, possibly. I could do with a day or two.
SPEAKER_02I only pay in biscuits and white monsters, though. Well, good. I don't work hard, so I think we'll get on just.
SPEAKER_04Should I work well hard?
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, I don't know. Yeah, that is true. But uh like this this whole like the this whole like uh media thing, like we started from scratch and it's like we're still doing this while working.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like while I've got kids and all that type of stuff. So like if you if you are set on something, I definitely feel like you can make time for them. Like one of the one of the things that shits me to tears is when people's like, I don't have enough time.
SPEAKER_07Ooh, to a degree, yes, to a degree, no.
SPEAKER_02But also there is always time.
SPEAKER_07It's hard to to someone to muster up that much motivational determination. Some people just want to sit comfortable, and it's so hard to that annoys me. I don't know. It does because no matter how hard you try, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Yeah, no matter how many, you know, they get all this opportunity and they just don't want to like see that pisses me off.
SPEAKER_02Like I preach, brother. I know I know that I probably a little bit different when it comes to that type of stuff because like if I'm determined, I will somehow make it work. Like most nights I go, I don't go to bed till about 12, 12:30 because I'm on Cap Cut editing or I'm trying to like yes, I'm doom scrolling, but I'm also coming up with ideas for like different things.
SPEAKER_07That's like the loophole of this situation is you can get away with Doom Scrolling and be like, yeah, I was just finding some ideas here and there.
SPEAKER_02But still, my most used app is Cap Cut by a lot. So it's just like Yeah. And it's also like like figuring out and uh shuffling things around in my life to make time for the things that I want to do.
SPEAKER_07Exactly. Yeah, we like you said, we both work full-time jobs, we both run this in our spare time and go to the gym and you have kids. I don't have kids or any of that, but I don't have to worry, so I have a little bit more freedom in my side of things. Yeah. Which is why I started my own little i gig.
SPEAKER_02No shout-outs here. Yeah, no, there's no shout-outs here to me. Hey, if you just cancel that, take it away. If you see it, um yeah, that uh which is cool, but yeah, there's always there's always time to do something, and like that actually comes into one thing that's been on my mind a lot is this whole like hey, have you seen that uh manosphere like documentary? Bro, those wankers piss me off.
SPEAKER_07Is that the like the Matter Beat? Matter baby? Matter baby, huh? The Matter Baby?
SPEAKER_02Don't you're not gonna get you stupid ass.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, the manosphere stuff. Yeah, I have no idea. Dumb idiots.
SPEAKER_02It's like the whole like Andrew Tate, like, you're not a man until you drive a Bugatti. Uh, you're not a man until you have three bitches on your dick.
unknownHuh.
SPEAKER_03Andrew Tate, HS Tiki Toki. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07HS Tiki Toki. Yeah. Yeah. You know who these people are? I know the Tate guy, but yeah, I didn't know there was so much.
SPEAKER_03So they're just these this new wave of alpha male role models that kids are following. So fucking stupid. Awful advice that isn't even advice. Like they um contradict themselves constantly. And Louis Thoreau, you know, Louis Thoreau, famous documentarian. No, it doesn't. He makes documentaries anyway.
SPEAKER_02What was that um that dude that has the podcast? The The American Dudes. Yeah. Yeah, I can't remember. I mean, I like that that whole show, like Michaela wanted me to sit down and watch it, which I did. It actually pissed me off. Like to the point where I'm just like, young people are looking up to these absolute dumbasses, and they're going, This is what it is to be a man. Yeah. Like, what happened to the Batman? Spider-Man? Yeah, Thor? Regular superheroes? Yeah. But like, is it just one of those things where like these dudes have like big influence on like young people and they're idiots, they are thick.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they're genuinely thick, and some of the stuff they say is just so dumb. Like, they talk about women in ridiculous ways and women's bodies and health and just misinformation. None of it is true, but they're speaking, most of their audience is going to be like teenagers, really. No adult man, unless they're like a proper incel is watching these people thinking, yeah, this is good. It's all 15-year-olds that are trying to find out their way in life. And this is the best role model that they have.
SPEAKER_07I'm hearing a lot of this, and based off not being in this area, I feel like I'm talking a lot about us.
SPEAKER_06Incels, women's bodies things we like recently. We were talking about misinformation.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it's misinformation, but it's misinformation that we end up talking about that is correct on things that a lot of people don't know about. We're not alpha males, we're alpha trades. We are alpha trades. Alpha trades.
SPEAKER_03That should be the name of the podcast.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Alpha Trades.
SPEAKER_07Alpha Trades. Oh shit, on any other trade out there.
SPEAKER_02But they're they're they're talking about how like women belong, like the whole typical like women belong in the kitchen.
SPEAKER_07So like what we just talked about before.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's what you do.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So how women belong in the kitchen, how they are less superior than a man, and a man is, you know, blah blah blah blah. Shut the fuck up. Like the the one thing that women Thanks, man. Um the one thing uh having kids and not only having kids, but having daughters has taught me is that we're all the same. Like no one's more superior than it than anyone. Like men have it hard in ways, women have it hard in ways. We're all the same. No one's better, no one's less. But also as a man, especially having daughters, bro, you gotta protect the shit out of those. Out of it, well, I mean, if you got kids, you should protect them anyway. But like you also you become more emotional when it comes to daughters. Yeah. And it's like it's uh it's hard to explain, but that whole like yeah, that whole documentary was so stupid.
SPEAKER_03It's on par with like flat earthers and like Holocaust deniers and stuff.
SPEAKER_07Like they that's the thing, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, like just big conspiracy theorists that's what are you doing?
SPEAKER_04It's okay. You're like off Easter Island.
SPEAKER_01Didn't you say something about that? What that you don't believe that the Holocaust was true?
SPEAKER_03Shit, no, I have to put no it's more people genuinely believing in things that are just like ridiculous, yeah. Okay, and and preaching about it like as if it's real, and that's it's dangerous stuff to be teaching these young people. One thing that they lack is common sense.
SPEAKER_07That's one thing. We do speak a lot of wild things and dumb things on here.
SPEAKER_02Sometimes I feel like some people will take things out of context and believe us, they can take things out of context, and like that's why I'll never do a an apology video, right? Like I've said before, because if someone takes a snippet out of our podcast without actually listening to the whole thing and getting all the context to try and make us out to be the bad people, what am I gonna apologize for?
SPEAKER_07We're gonna roast them, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like, yes, we say things for banter, for jokes, for a reaction, for this or that, but we know who we are, and we go, uh, go, give it to me. No, no, no, no. Your Adam Zapper went low, so he was gonna do Kermit or something. You're gonna do something.
SPEAKER_05I was gonna do that.
SPEAKER_02Why can't we have a serious conversation?
SPEAKER_05I was gonna do that. Oh, I thought better. You know how you see it everywhere now.
SPEAKER_03Maybe on your algorithm.
SPEAKER_05My algorithm's so coxious.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What we should talk about a little bit, maybe I don't know, tell me to stop once you realize what I'm talking about. But we just released a dome video. Straight to the dome. We just released our new series called uh Trial by Trading. Alpha Trading, no, Alpha Trades. Alpha Trade, no, Trial by Trading. Trial by Trading, and it's us going out and doing different trades because as trade is a loose term, by the way. Our job. It's a loose term, so but yeah, allow it. Um and we we we were kind enough, not they were kind enough to let us there to um do the first series as a chef.
SPEAKER_07So we got to meet with a head chef, Dylan. That's not right at all.
SPEAKER_01You were so confident too. Backed it.
SPEAKER_06That's funny, as yeah, with um Jack.
unknownOoh!
SPEAKER_03I actually did not know. I couldn't remember, but I thought I was thinking like Josh or something, but I knew that wasn't right. It was Jack.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it was Jack, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_07So we met with Jack and he gave us a little rundown. We do a little thing. No spoilers. You'll see it, you'll get into it. Because no one does that.
SPEAKER_08Not gonna lie, I've never seen anything quite like it.
SPEAKER_02Like, there's obviously like pages that are dedicated to like cooking and a certain trade or skits and this and that, but we're actually going out and trying all different trades, jobs, um, to see what they're actually like, to bring that band to talk about mental health, and to really find out is mechanic number one or is full lane better?
SPEAKER_07No, full ang's shit.
SPEAKER_02I don't think I will I'll agree with you that full lane's not better than mechanic.
SPEAKER_07At this point, I'm just pulling coins.
SPEAKER_02Four lane is is better in pay, right? I make way more.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's because I don't get paid by job. Get paid by hour.
SPEAKER_02Um, but that's also because I have my own business. Yeah, have your own as well. But yeah, we we released it, it's super fun, it's something that we're super proud of, and it's something that um we have come up with to make the content a little bit shorter, but then also to like like from the podcast because the podcast is an hour long, it is long and not and not everyone enjoys an hour-long podcast, and it's very like if you watch it on screen, it's not a lot like happening, you know, is engaged.
SPEAKER_07Whereas I feel like this new little series we got is quick, it's quick, it's it's fast paced, it's a bit intense, there's the funny side, and you actually get to see how another trade would do in that trade. Like we've done obviously chefing, we did first. What's to come for second, you'll have to wait and see. But I'm excited for it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, it'll it it also gives that input of like if there's a job that you have wanted to try and you don't know what it's like, you can potentially watch this video and be like, oh, that's what they do, or that's how they do it. Not that everyone that like every company is going to be exactly the same with it, but um, it'll give you a baseline of what what the job is, which is cool, and I'm super excited for. So that link will be below. Um the link?
SPEAKER_08The link. Yeah, I thought it would come out after. No, it comes out this Friday. Fuck me. Oh that hurt my brain.
SPEAKER_02This is what I have to do with these incels. What does incel mean?
SPEAKER_03I'm an autistic incel now, am I? I'm just British.
SPEAKER_09She was British.
SPEAKER_02We're an autistic incel behind the behind the computer.
SPEAKER_07And then we have the last two brain cells, one either side. Well, I'm just I'm a feminist. A feminist? Yeah. Don't they have hair? No. Mostly women, I thought.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_07What did you say about a feminist?
SPEAKER_02I'm a I'm a feminist.
SPEAKER_01What are you fighting for? Women's rights. Do you agree with with women's rights? Women's rights.
SPEAKER_07Couldn't even say it. Couldn't even say it without laughing. I mean, if back in 1946, when we made that vote, I don't think we should have voted for it.
SPEAKER_02No, I think thank you for watching this episode uh of the Intersec podcast. It's gonna be our last.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh, I'll see you maybe from a jail cell or something.
SPEAKER_06Just cuff me now. Take me away. I shouldn't be given a microphone and free will to talk.
SPEAKER_02No, you shouldn't be. Men shouldn't have podcasts. White blokes, white straight males shouldn't be allowed podcasts. They should up the prices of microphones.
SPEAKER_07They honestly should. Like they it shouldn't be this easy to do. It's not easy. I mean, let's be honest.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna pay the fucking expensive drug dealer over here. What do you mean the autistic incel? I'm an autistic incel drug dealer.
SPEAKER_00I'm just British.
SPEAKER_02Alright, no, that's gonna be it for this episode. Uh, thank you guys for watching. Um jump over to well, I mean, this page. Jump over uh and have a look at uh Trials by Trade, which is that came out, that comes out already, that's already out. So yeah, thank you so much for watching. That's awesome. Uh JP, where can they find you, Matt?
SPEAKER_07Where can they find us? They'll find us at the intersect HQ. If you're on the email, it's intersect.podcast24 at hotmail.com.
SPEAKER_02That's wrong. It's been so long, and he still has it wrong.
SPEAKER_07What do you mean? Intersect.podcast. No, intersect podcast.24 podcast. Ah no.
SPEAKER_01Don't worry about the fucking email, all right?
SPEAKER_03Um and to me. You can catch me on West Edge Mechanical Intel.audistic. I was trying to plug your new mechanical page, but I don't remember if that was the name of it.
SPEAKER_07Oh, you're actually pretty on there.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_07That's right, we'll save that for another time.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, yeah. So jump over, watch Trial by Trading. That link, if you do want to watch it, will be below.
SPEAKER_07Um we hope you enjoy. Please comment other trades because we don't actually know. And if you are in Geralton, even comment or tag a business somewhere at us, at our socials, at email, anywhere along these areas. Because, well, you know, it's good to get businesses finding us as much as we're finding businesses.
SPEAKER_08Why are you looking at that? He just goes That's solid. Anyway, thank you for the same. That's my last dollar over and out. Hope you guys enjoy. I don't even know.
