Hi, I'm Emily, and I am a neuromuscular massage therapist that uses the nervous system in every single session that I do in my massage therapy practice, I am able to see how vital and how fast the body reacts to the nervous system when used correctly, and it is something that I'm really excited to share with you on how the body helps support itself, whether it's through the lymph system, just with the muscles, all of that applies to the vagus nerve, which is why It Starts at Vagus.
Let me tell you a little story about how I see my clients come in often. They come in with a lot of pain, a lot of stress, and there's just really that cycle between stress and pain that is just that loop. And when they come in, sometimes you can see it in their eyes that they're trying to suppress that pain, suppress the anxiety that's going on internally. And once I get them in session, I am able to do some vagus nerve resets. And then they start, you can just feel the tension, the weight of their shoulders, just like lifting up. And then sometimes they get a little more talkative and then go back to being calm. But it was once I start plan. My plan is for everybody to learn how to use their body support it, so that you can feel like yourself, so you don't feel the burden, the anxiety and the thoughts that just keep going through your head, that you're able just to take a pause and a moment and just be and that is a wonderful feeling.
So who am I? I, like I said, I'm Emily, and I'm a massage therapist, but I do really relate to the vagus nerve, because the vagus nerve means wanderer, and I do like to wander. One of my favorite pastimes is to go and explore waterfalls. I live in Arkansas, and there's a good number of waterfalls to go and explore, and I like to do that with my kiddos and my husband, and just go and explore nature and just see what it has. And that is when I feel rejuvenated and at peace at the same time, and it's lovely, and it's a place that I like to be.
So when I was able to find out that we can show you how to reset your own vagus nerve, it just it got me really excited, because it's something that you can do. It's fast, it's easy, it's effective.
