Wheelie Hogs
Joint Birthday Party
Double the fun, double the cake, it’s birthday time for best friends Little Wee and Henry! With a big summer party at Henry’s house, the day is packed with slip-n-slides, water balloons, and an epic obstacle course. Nana’s got the games covered, Mama and Papa are grilling up a feast, and the whole Wheelie Hogs gang is ready to celebrate!
But… when Little Wee gets a little too excited about the birthday feast (because who can resist party food?!), something unexpected happens, his spines puff up again! And when he gets stuck in a pipe mid-race, it’s all wheels on deck for a rescue mission!
With the help of his friends and family, Little Wee gets free, decides to save his cake for later, and finishes the day with a happy heart and a lesson learned (maybe just one slice of cake next time!).

Welcome to the everyday adventures of the wheelie hogs join little wee and his family, especially Nana, as they live their lives alongside friends and neighbors in hogglington, the joint birthday party by Robert John Huckins, not only were little wheelie and Henry best friends, they also shared a birthday, and it had been decided that this year they were to have a party in the summer to celebrate their special birthday together.
Henry and little wee were very excited about the party, and Nana had been working really hard helping them decide what games and things they wanted, and also what food they would like. It was their party, after all, said Nana, Mama, Papa and Nana had made lots of lovely food for the occasion, cakes, trifles and ice cream, amongst other things. Henry's Papa was also doing a barbecue with lots of sausages for Henry and meatballs for little wee.
His favourite the party was at Henry's house, and Henry's Papa had set the garden up with lots of games, including a slippy slide water balloons and ramps to jump over and pipes to roll through. The friends couldn't wait for it to start and all their friends to arrive. As the party time draws nearer, Mama reminds little wee not to eat too much food. Just eat a little bit of each thing. Little wee, you remember what happened last time when you ate too much in one go, your spines puffed up, which wasn't very comfortable for you Was it?
No, Mama, it wasn't. Replied little wee and promised mama that he wouldn't eat too much. Oh, and don't forget, there's also birthday cake for you both. Mama calls after Henry and little wee as they wheel over to meet their friends, as they arrive at the party with so many gifts and cards, really, though, little we and Henry were just so pleased to have their friends to play with for the afternoon, all the wheelie hog children were in the garden Having them an amazing time slipping down the slippy slide, jumping over the ramps, throwing water balloons at each other, including the adults. Nana was actually soaked, and they were all covered in bubbles and slipping and sliding everywhere. There was so much laughter, and everyone was having an amazing time. It was then time for the food. Come on everyone, it's food. Time calls mama.
There was a sudden scramble as all the wheelie hog children scrambled to enjoy the wonderful treats on offer, especially the ice cream and trifle. Henry and little we were in their element, hot dogs, meatballs and birthday cake. They were eating and eating, and everyone was having so much fun that they didn't remember to remind little we not to eat too much. It was now time to play the last game of the afternoon, which was an obstacle course.
You had to slip down the slippy slippy slide, roll and jump over the rolly ramps and roll through the pipey pipes. Whoever completed the obstacle first was the winner. Henry's Papa started the race. 123, go, he said. And all the children raced as fast as they could down the slippy slide, rolled the rolly ramps and rolled the pipey pipes. And guess who won? It was Henry. Yay. They all said, Well done, Henry. It was time for the special birthday cake. Gather round wheelie hogs says, Mama.
She lights the candles, and they all start to sing, happy birthday. When Henry says, Where's Little we suddenly everyone looks at each other, then looks around. He was nowhere to be seen. Where are you? Little we they all call, but no reply. Then suddenly, Nana says, wait, I can hear something. And sure enough, a little voice can be heard, saying, I'm in here. Oh. I'm in the pipe. I'm stuck, sure enough, it was little we he was stuck in the pipe. And I think we all know what that means, don't we? He's eaten too much, and his spines had puffed up, poor little we So papa devised a plan to get him out of the pipe. Firstly, Mama and Nana squirted extra washing up liquid inside the pipe for extra slippy, slippiness, the hose was turned on for extra water, wateriness and extra slippiness. And then Papa threads a piece of rope down the pipe. Hold on to the pipe. Shouts Papa down the pipe to little wee, Okay, papa, I've got it. Little wee replies.
Then Papa gets all the children to take hold of the rope and start to pull on the count of three. Come on. Children ready? 123, heave. And all the children slowly wheel backwards, pulling the rope as they go heave, and as they pull back and back some more little we slowly appears, and then suddenly pop he's out of the pipe.
Thanks everyone for getting me unstuck. Says little wee. Mama rushes over to make sure he's all right. Oh, little wee, you forgot not to eat too much food, didn't you? You know, it makes your spines pop up. Sorry, Mama. I just couldn't help having some extra trifle and ice cream. It was so good. Well, no real harm done. Said, Mama, your spines will soon be back to normal after everything had settled down, including little wee's puffed up spines. Mama re lights the candles and everyone sings happy birthday to little wheelie and Henry. Little wheelie decides to save his piece of cake for the next day though.
Until next time roll with the wheelie hogs.
