Relaxing In The Garden With Nana
After a busy, bustling week, Nana has one simple request, it’s time to relax! She gathers the family in the garden, encouraging them to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment.
At first, Pinky Bow and Rainbow aren’t so sure, how can they just sit still when there’s so much to do? But as Nana leads a gentle relaxation session, guiding them through deep breaths and sensory awareness, something magical happens… everyone starts to unwind.
Even Pinky Bow, the ultimate fidgeter, finds a little moment of calm. And as the sun sets, Little Wee stays behind with Nana, snuggled up under a cosy blanket. When Papa arrives with hot chocolate, the peaceful evening feels just perfect, until Nana falls asleep mid-sip!

Welcome to the everyday adventures of the wheelie hogs join little wee and his family, especially Nana, as they live their lives alongside friends and neighbors in Hogglington,
Relaxing in the garden with Nana.
It was Friday afternoon, and everyone had had a really busy week, so Nana invited the family into a special place in the garden for what she called a bit of a chill out.
Nana said it would do everyone some good to stop rushing around for a little while.
Mama, Peppa and little wheelie were up for it, but Pinky bow and rainbow weren't so keen, because they really wanted to get on with things. They joined in anyway, though, because they thought it was nice that Nana had asked them, and they did know, really, that it was a good thing to do when the family joined Nana in her special place in the garden, she'd put some blankets and throws out for everyone, because it wasn't a particularly warm or sunny evening, but that didn't matter at all, said Nana.
So Nana invited the family to make themselves comfortable. Are you all comfortable? She asked not really. Replied. Pinky, bow. My shoulders are tense. Mine too, said rainbow, well, that's why we're all here, said Nana, to relax a little.
Shall we begin?
Yes, please. Said Mama,
okay, then family, let's begin.
Nana took a long breath in and let it out slowly. And then she began.
Just allow yourselves to be in the space that you're in.
Notice how you are feeling. Just notice you don't need to do anything.
Notice your breathing and take a few nice, easy breaths in through your nose
and let them out through your mouth.
Don't force the breaths, just nice and easy when you're ready, each time that you breathe out, let your shoulders relax down as you release Any tension you're holding on to from your day and it.
And as you start to feel a bit more relaxed, allowing yourself to be in this special place, in the garden for a short while, start to notice what's around you.
What can you see,
what can you hear,
what can you smell?
Can you taste, anything?
And what can you feel?
Nana had a quick peek at the family and noticed that they were all looking pretty relaxed, apart from Pinky bow, who was fidgeting a bit, but Nana carried on.
So again,
take a nice deep breath in,
and as you breathe out,
relax your shoulders even more and let that feeling of relaxation spread throughout entire body.
And allow your awareness to be on the nature that surrounds you.
Feel the grass,
the breeze
and maybe the temperature of the garden.
Hear the sounds of the garden and perhaps beyond, notice what's relevant for you.
And don't get involved in any thoughts, just let the thoughts come and go and.
Any thoughts just come and go and take another deep and easy breath in
and as you release this breath in your own time,
you can begin to slowly and gently stretch and move
with your next breath out.
You can open your eyes, if they were closed, and give yourself a smile, and maybe give each other a smile
there said, Nana,
Do you all feel a bit more relaxed and ready for the weekend?
The family all agreed that they did. They did feel a bit more relaxed, some a bit more relaxed than the others, which is fine, and even Pinky bow stopped fidgeting towards the end, the family all thanked Nana before heading off to do their own thing, except for little wheelie. Are you alright? Little wee asked Nana, yes, Nana, I am. But do you mind if I stay out here with you for a while longer? I love being out here with you and I love being out here with you, too, little wee, of course you can stay out here. Replied, Nana and Nana and little wee snuggled together under a blanket and enjoyed the outside.
A little later on, Papa bought them both a mug of hot chocolate. Mm, thank you. Papa said little wee, but I think Nana is asleep.
And sure enough, there were some little gentle snoring noises coming from Nana.
So they decided to leave her be.
