Welcome to the everyday adventures of the wheelie hogs join little wee and his family, especially Nana, as they live their lives alongside friends and neighbours in Hogglington,
Nana's birthday picnic.
Little wee was very aware that it was Nana's birthday soon, and she had put such a lot of effort and work into organising his and Henry's birthday that he wanted to do something very special for her. Too little. We decided to consult rainbow and pinky bow and asked them if they would like to join in with making Nana's birthday very special.
When rainbow and pinky Bo got in from school, little wee was waiting at the door for them so that he could speak to them together, they agreed to help and were pleased that little we had included them in the plans. That evening, Pinky Bo and rainbow met little wee in his bedroom at 7pm to make plans. I think we should make lists. Said Pinkie bow lists are really helpful. And if we have one, each listing what each what we need to do, what can go wrong. Rainbow and little, we agreed.
So they all sat at little we've desk, and each made a list of things to do. It was decided that Nana would like a birthday picnic in the garden. If it rained, there wouldn't be a problem, because Nana's favourite area was undercover. Little wee's list read as follows, one buy some bunting to decorate the garden. Two, make a birthday cake with Mama on Saturday afternoon when Nana is out. Three, make some cheese and crest sandwiches. Nana's favorite. Four, make cheese straws. Nana's favourite. Five, make some strawberry jelly with strawberries in it, and cream Nana's favourite. And six, keep it a secret from Nana. Pinky bows list read as follows. One, buy some balloons to decorate the garden. Two, make a birthday cake on Sunday at my friend's house so that Nana doesn't know. Three, make some cheese straws, Nana's favourite. Four, make some cheese and cress sandwiches. Nana's favourite. Five, make some strawberry jelly with fresh strawberries and cream. Nana's favourite and six, keep it a secret from Nana and rainbows list read as follows. One, decorate garden. Two, buy a cake. Three, buy cheese straws. Four, buy cheese and crest sandwiches. Five, buy a strawberry jelly and cream with fresh strawberries. Six, don't let Nana know.
Can you see a problem starting to emerge from the lists above? Well, Rainbow Pinky bow and little wee had everything under control, and they agreed that they would have Nana's party on the following Sunday afternoon, at 1pm they were all very excited and pleased to be doing something nice for Nana. So when they left little wee's bedroom after their secret meeting, they were feeling pretty good about the whole thing during the week before Nana's party, Rainbow Pinky bow and little wheelie were all very busy making sure they completed all the tasks on their lists, and with each task completed, they ticked it off as done. On Thursday evening, they had another quick secret meeting and little wee's room to finalise a few details, they all agreed that they were on track with their plans and working through their lists in a very organised way.
They also decided to meet in Nana's undercover area of the garden at 12 noon, ready to set the picnic up and surprise Nana on Sunday, the day came of Nana's birthday picnic and rainbow Pinky bow and little wee met in the garden as planned. And what do you think happened? The garden looked really nice with balloons from Pinky bow bunting from little. Me and a whole load of biodegradable confetti in the shape of Moon daisies sprinkled everywhere by Rainbow. Whoa, it looks so pretty. They all agreed, Nana will love it. Mama and Papa had set up a picnic table earlier, so little wee rainbow and pinky Bo started to bring all the things they had made for the picnic out and lay it nicely on the table. When all the food was laid out, what do you think they saw? Pinky Bo was the first to notice. Oh no, she said.
Then rainbow, Oh blind me, they said. And then little we whoops, what have we done? He exclaimed, oh no. They all said, at the same time, we have three of everything. How did that happen? But we all made lists. Said, Pinky bow. So they each got their lists out to compare, and then they realised what had happened.
Our lists are the same. We forgot to delegate one job to each person. We've each done each job three times. At that moment, Mama and Papa appeared with a very happy Nana, who was looking at all the food on the picnic table, three birthday cakes, three lots of cheese straws, three lots of cheese and cress sandwiches and three lots of strawberry jelly and cream With fresh strawberries. All Nana's favourite things. Nana was over the moon and had the best birthday picnic ever. Happy birthday, Nana.
Until next time Roll with the wheelie hogs.
