Meet Alex “Pig Fella” Norris

SPEAKER_03

Welcome to this episode of the Proper News Podcast brought to you by Killing Studios. Right here we can get all your content on from photo shoots, podcasts, tailored few, you name it, we have it. Let's not forget that praise guy. What can we say? Doing millions of pounds in praises every single month, helping charties, helping people like myself move on to the next level in this game. What was the day? We have a good friend, Alex. Yes. Alex, what happened to the pig fella? It was the pig fella, it was the pig fella, yeah. I I changed it up, we would it's like they keep people on their toes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, just to see, just to see. Everyone knows me as the pig fella.

SPEAKER_03

Because I was actually thinking, how am I gonna introduce this fella to my podcast? Is it Alex? Like I obviously it's Alex. Is it Alex Norris? Alex Norris, yeah. And then I was like, I can't introduce him as Alex Norris because everyone knows him as the pig fella.

SPEAKER_01

I know, I know no one no one will know me. Even the other day I was training. Uh I had a foot I was training for football, and all these kids and all were in it like beside me, and I was shouting the pig, come and get your autograph on.

SPEAKER_03

Associate with it, like your your Yeah. Why is that? Why why wh why the pig fella? Who who give you that name?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, so I don't know. I I just I've had a lot of nicknames in school, like since I was a kid and uh it's called my name's Norris, so they call me Noor. I know I just short it off. The way I ate I'm not even joking, the way I ate, I ate so fast, and like I had not like the way I ate was just my madness cut up to people and then the cops are calling me Nori pig or something, and then they've showed it down to pig and then Because you eat like a pig. Yeah, basically, yeah, because I eat like a pig and then I was it.

SPEAKER_03

And stuck with me. Fuck me, that's a good one. And like I I I like I feel like Asians, you're you you have a Japanese background, right? So Asians do Asians eat f like that faster because they eat with chapsticks. Exactly, yeah. So like there's no like there's no time. It's hard enough to balance food on a chapstick as it is let alone letting it sit there. No, like if you have a full.

SPEAKER_01

You know, eating racer race or something like that. Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

That must be like where it comes from. Like this must be instilled in you.

SPEAKER_01

But then that's not that. My brothers know, they don't eat like that, it's just me. I don't know. And there it might be something, I don't know.

Origins Of The Nickname And Family Roots

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Does your like does your parents eat with chapsticks or anything?

SPEAKER_01

Or uh my mum does. My dad's from here.

SPEAKER_03

Uh and uh do your mum's still like with chapsticks like still.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well we don't we'd always have meals and all, like she'd click all the Japanese meals.

SPEAKER_03

Big steak with chapsticks. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my no uh see the the Asian market up in Belfast? Yeah. My mum would go wear like every every week, maybe class, in there? Yeah, on real. It's unreal, isn't it? Yeah, it's not classy.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I go there sometimes as well, it's all all range of things. Yeah, there's like it's because it's completely different. There's a there's actually a cafe on the one in the embankment in Ormor Road. Wait, is that upstairs? Yes, it's unbelievable. I know and I haven't no, I think I keep saying to myself, I remember Kieran Bartlett, the comedian I don't know by Kieran, he done a review there and said it was unbelievable. And I've always said to myself, it's like a hidden gem. I always wanted to. Seriously I've never tried it, so neither.

SPEAKER_01

I think I'll have been up. Is that is that in the Asian market or is that the colour?

SPEAKER_03

It's in the global market, it's in the Asian market upstairs, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's in the upstairs. Upstairs, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

See, here you go. You need a grover and get a wee review. 100% or whatever, yeah. And then and then you can um in there enough like break down why you're called a pig. So, like, this is why I'm called the pig. Oh, I just eat eight.

SPEAKER_01

Could do that over, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Content.

SPEAKER_01

That's what's all about.

SPEAKER_03

It's all about the content. Yeah. You're but you you like you're you'll be big into your content, but I you always delete stuff and then repost and then delete like you just delete your post. So like I was looking going, what the fuck goes on in this guy's life? One week there was nothing there, next week there's like a hundred thousand videos. I'm like, what's going on? It's up and down.

SPEAKER_01

I don't even know. My mind's like I don't know, there's there has to be something like I there's something wrong with me where I like I don't have that patience or something, or like I just always upload and then take them down.

SPEAKER_03

I just I should be keeping up like that's what people tell me all the time, but I know I mean so I I I always just keep mine up for like memories, like it's it's always there. If I suppose you get on my phone stories, you can always go back and get it. Yeah, but yeah, it's it's good that way. Your your point of view, uh POV, man.

SPEAKER_01

I just I just find me stupid ones and I just see see what I'd say it does.

SPEAKER_03

What's the ambition behind it? Behind the POV? Like what like just for like it just to be funny, just enjoy it.

SPEAKER_01

I just I just enjoy making them like my me and my brother actually. He sits our making he sets her research and making them and then I just say right I'll do that, I'll be the actor. And all and then I just think act right, he tells me what to do, like right, do this, and then he I wanna have to take it like three or four times, and he'd be like, Your your face isn't angry enough, or your face isn't happy enough, or something like that. Uh and that's do you just do a couple of ticks?

SPEAKER_04

Like, do you think that's a good thing?

SPEAKER_01

We always do a couple of tickets, we never do the first tick. So what time spam fucking trying to get this? And we're sitting there on my prop more ancestors are starting, I said, What are you actually at?

SPEAKER_03

That's scary, that's scary. Like, it's a summer content scared, it's relatable, it's not a good idea. Yeah, that's what I thought.

Belfast Asian Markets And Hidden Food Gems

SPEAKER_01

I thought I thought like even in the summer there, I did a POV and it was like one of me behind uh in my dad's bed behind my dad, no, under my dad's bed, and it was like POV, you what was it, you're taking your phone from your dad's room. Yeah, and you're you're you're you're like proper like scared, you know? Yeah, and then I go done well. That's my best one at this so far, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's my first ever drink of a matcha. There is Japanese matcha.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly, man.

SPEAKER_03

Inherited from your ancestry.

unknown

Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

It's actually good, that's white chocolate, but probably is it white chocolate? That's white chocolate matcha from a board. I just thought it would be loud at it.

SPEAKER_00

Season coffee shop in Carrick Fergus. Season coffee shop.

SPEAKER_03

Season coffee shop in Carrick Fergus. No. It does the best. This is probably second. I've I've never had one before. This is the first time I've tried one like.

SPEAKER_01

See see, I I don't know where it is, I might have been there. In Carrick, I'm not there, I was a owner.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So next time you're in, make sure you double agent behind the mic.

SPEAKER_00

There you go. I think my mum who's our old man.

SPEAKER_03

He's a man of he's a man of many talents.

SPEAKER_00

I need I need I need see whenever you said you're from Japan, so Julie. And remember she grew up in Japan. Yeah, that's right. So like Julie's mum, my mother-in-law, for years was like an interpreter. And there was like so many Japanese people. So I'd probably say your mum would know my mother-in-law. Serious? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Small world.

SPEAKER_00

I know it is a small world.

SPEAKER_03

You were in Japan too. I've I've I've been to Japan three times. Disneyland? Was it Disneyland Japan? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I've been there as well.

SPEAKER_00

Last November we took the kids and then went with Julie's mum and Julie's sister. So we were there for two weeks last November, not November there, but November.

SPEAKER_03

Small world lad. I know. These two weeks speaking Japan if you heard Japanese teacher, you know, me home?

SPEAKER_01

No, see uh even Japan Disneyland and there's Universal Studios as well. That's so much better, isn't it? See for rides now, like oh I used to do not.

SPEAKER_03

How often would you do like how often do you go or when was the last time you were there?

SPEAKER_01

I used to when I was younger, I used to go one like two, three times a year. Seriously. Serious, just like my granny, grandda liver. Oh dude. And then recently I went I went last summer on a pro and all, and then I go like once a year now. It's good, it's still good. Good crack.

SPEAKER_03

Um do you would you ever see yourself living there?

SPEAKER_01

100%. Nah, like uh Yeah, no, 100%. Actually, but I I love like well, I don't know if it's different because you're you're on holiday there. Yeah, it might be different working there, do you know what I mean? But based on what I've experienced, it's you do you speak you speak Japanese? I speak Japanese, yeah. Japanese influence. My mom my mum's taught me from it. Well, see, writing and stuff, I wouldn't really know like I wouldn't really be able to read. Yeah. I can read it a wee bit, but that was sort of the same as John.

SPEAKER_03

It was on last year. Yeah, it's I know John I was talking about. Yeah, he can't write or read read it, but he can speak it. But speaking it like you're sham words that you can't even read. Yeah, it's mad oh yeah. I suppose that the the complete novest that you were saying again last week, the writing's completely different. I know it looks like a picture. Every word looks like it's a picture.

SPEAKER_01

I can I my mum used to teach me it and she told me like like when I was younger, I was like, write it now how to write it. I never I know I hated it, like I hated learning it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's fairly. Like reading all, I can speak it now. Yeah. No, that's good. You know what? Like it's like because again, if you ever want to move back. What age are you?

SPEAKER_01

I'm 23 now. Twenty-three, that's right.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, El Hans rubbing all.

SPEAKER_04

Rubbing the hands everybody till you're ready to go.

Content Habits, POV Skits, And Creative Process

SPEAKER_01

Oh you're in uni? Uh yes, mate. And you're living abroad? I'm living abroad. I was in I was in Spain, uh, September to December, and then I'm actually going to Portugal on sa on Saturday here, my mum. And for a week before.

SPEAKER_03

So you what you're in uni from September to December? What happens as that you finished?

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I was in like I I'm in my third year. Where you you go to Spain and Portugal.

SPEAKER_03

What are you studying?

SPEAKER_01

Spanish Portuguese. Language?

SPEAKER_03

So you're flirting that as well?

SPEAKER_01

Not flu not fluent yet, but close enough. Oh close enough, if you're not.

SPEAKER_03

Why do you want to learn ever?

SPEAKER_01

Don't know, man. I've always had a like I was not connect. I was I I've been in Spain quite a lot when I was younger. And I was I picked up the language a lot. I was actually good at Spanish when I was younger. And then when school when I was learning in school, it was like the it's the easiest subject or something for me. Yeah. So I just thought, why not? And then Portuguese was just a wee actual ones.

SPEAKER_03

Something like that.

SPEAKER_01

My butt my mum's actually an interpreter here for NHS. Yeah, and then I might just I might just I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

See what that's your hands. You be like we football, isn't it? Oh, I needed to be an interpreter. I know not look at you, you man city tapped out. Could be win over a week and like the city's been terrible this way, but um they've fairly lifted their lifted their spirits from the afternoon. All the pundits are full of shit, but cause like see like guy and Avell Roy Kane schools and all they're like fucking all they're all like they're all up on a pedestal and they just think like they're giving it a bit metal carriage, and he's not a free fit of the job, no, and then he goes and ticks Man City and they play his best, they're probably the best football they played. It's all round them, like and then they're like oh praising like their football and what they're capable of doing. Yeah. Like if Metal Carrick is usually understanding he stepped when he stepped in and he he obviously made changes to the team and um and how they play. Yeah. Because they actually it's not like Man City played shit. Yeah, but man needed to play a print on top of that.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't get to watch that, gonna be honest. I was I was playing a football match. Uh for priorities. Who's your priorities? Man, I was I was awful. Like who do you play for? I was playing for a little team by Head Eagles and uh I came back I came back and I was like because I was obviously away in Spain for four months, did nothing. Just drinking all I came back and I was I thought I was the best player. I came in. I was trying to try and showed off, came off at half time, and my dad and brothers came down. I'm like, what are you at? I'm sitting on the bench and I'm like I'm just looking at them again. What position do you play? I was playing uh winger thing. We'll play centre mid straight or all that there. Used to be alright. Now the beer, and all the you know what I mean. Trying to stay off it, though, not be fair. What do you drink?

SPEAKER_03

Make spirits or do you drink beer?

SPEAKER_01

Well drink well I'll make er beer, like uh beer most of the time, and then you move on to spirits, you know what I mean. Oh yeah, later on later on the night, bogger elbows, you know. Fuck my jagger bombs and all that there. But let's see me honestly now I'm trying to stop it. I've actually been like since I think it was boxing days the last time I drunk, I got spent way too much money. Got taxi home, cost me 80 quid or something. No way, yeah. Some boy outside the Belfast Grand Central Station. I I was stuck for an I my phone went out of charge and I didn't have any cash or something, so I had to go into his car, charge my phone up, and then pay him. Unraveled it. It was mental. And then uh that's the last time I was drunk. I was trying to say off it, having out in ages.

SPEAKER_03

Save him, save the money.

SPEAKER_01

Save the money, yeah, 100%, yeah. Same money, same money I well I don't know where I was, but it's the amount of money you actually spend when you actually look at it. It's like it's mental.

SPEAKER_03

Fuck's sake, but uh it is it's it's like Belfast isn't cheap now anymore. No, it used to be like one of the cheapest cities, it's fucking one of the most expensive now.

Matcha Chats And Small-World Japan Links

SPEAKER_01

No, yeah, no, even in in Spain as well. When I was in Spain, it was rarely cheap, like cheaper in Belfast anyway.

SPEAKER_03

What part of Spain, man?

SPEAKER_01

I was in the north, I was in Oviedo. So it's Oviedo it's called. I went to their football matches, isn't it? You know Rondon though?

SPEAKER_03

Nah.

SPEAKER_01

He paid for Newcastle, I think. Rondon. Oh man. No, not Newcastle, can't we rose? He plays for him and Eric Bay and all that ones.

SPEAKER_03

Uh he turned into the ultra.

SPEAKER_01

I know that's what you that's what I do. And then I'm going to Bra going to Portugal, going to Menu, it's called in Braga. But I'm trying to get like game sort of flower when I go where. Are you going for holiday over or what is it?

SPEAKER_03

Oh no, that's what I'm going for UNA again. Oh, we're going to Union. So we're in Po So September to December in Spain and then January to Oh January to uh I think it's June.

SPEAKER_01

June.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I'm not back until June, are I? So when you're in Spain, you're solely learning Spanish. And then when you go to Portugal, you're just solely learning Spanish Spanish. That's what it is, yeah. It's just a bit of experience in both places, yeah. And do you work over or you just like you have to do it? No. Just studying it. Who the fuck funds it?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I got a grant now. And like a loan and stuff like that, but like spent one night on the drink. Oh, well, yeah, Spain was mental I I'm trying to try and lock in for s for Portugal, like, because Spain was just mental. Me and my mate Adam McConnelly come and he we were just like it was mental like for for four or five months or something. So I'm trying to try and actually I've I've realized now and then I want to kind of know what I mean.

SPEAKER_03

Fast forward six months later, you'll have no. Everything I'll just go U-turn. But it's probably not, but I know. University, that's what happens. University's for that. Like there's people who know university for like I've made so done university and year after year, five years in uni, and every year for five years just party like mine.

SPEAKER_01

Just party like my.

SPEAKER_03

I know that America's Spain must be everywhere. Yeah, Spain's manta, like. Oh fuck me. And then like I'd say, like, the people always have like associate Irish culture with drinking, but when I know it's university, it's just like no way I find out what Spanish ones are.

SPEAKER_01

They don't because me obviously uh me and my mate were there. We were drinking so much, but see the what Spanish ones I don't even drink that much.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They they barely drink. But that's why they're out too often. We'd be hungover for days.

SPEAKER_03

Do you ever see on holiday if I'm in Holden? I see like like like we local his own launch breakers for me, then has we beer. Yeah. And the splits goes back to work. See if I drink one beer, I run I run another one. No, no, I don't want to run another one. No, it's never one, though. No, it's never one. One third and the four. No such thing as one. Not in this country anyway. That's not uh what what what's the crack with health campaign?

SPEAKER_01

The what is right? The health campaign. Oh wait, no, that's what I mean. So I've started going to the gym. I started going to the gym, I've got a PT and also. What gym do you go to? Uh I'd go to the fitness hub in Carrick. Alright. But then I'd I'd go to my PT. He's called Cab McRanalds. It's good lad like you get. I'm trying to get lane. Yeah, he's good lad, he does like sports massages and like like PP. Aye, and then he trained me up here and then but I'm going to Portugal, so I don't know. I might go to Waste, but then I'm trying to there's a gym in my accommodation. It's got a good accommodation, sorted for Portugal.

SPEAKER_03

And I'm trying to like be very online content, you know. Oh, just keep you ready. That's what that's what I want to do. I was gonna ask him. And then uh because you it's like it's fucking when you train you always feel better, you know what I mean? Like obviously if you drink all the time, it's gonna feel like shit. I know. And then you just like get lean, you wanna get lean, lad, not me. What are you in a drink? Are you are you drinking like I'm off a drink? You're off a drink. I had a good crack at it over Christmas early. Oh, did you? I had a fight and right up on the 6th of December. I know I've seen that, yeah. Every weekend after that, we had something on right at Christmas, it was no way's birthday. And then obviously Christmas comes around and you're just drinking every day, right up and then New Year's Eve, right up to New Year's Day, and it was just fucking we opened a new gym in the town of the city centre, so it's flat out.

SPEAKER_01

Is that a missile?

Trips To Japan, Theme Parks, And Language

SPEAKER_03

Where is where actually is that the center is that? In King Street, no beside uh Castle Street. Yeah, right beside Castle Street. Oh, seriously. You're you're today, aren't you? I'm a rim every day. Every day? I'm in there every day, boy. That's where that's where the fucking magic happens. That's all right. That's where you transform people's lives.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but do you do that? Like, do you train do you train people as well? Oh, I coach people.

SPEAKER_03

I don't call myself a PT like because I don't personally train anyone. It's like a small group of personal training and boxing classes and tasting classes. So there's seven staff, so we just we all do shifts. Just rotating hangs. Just rotating shifts, so it's good, like it's fucking it's uh it's it's something running, flying, going well. It's massive, it's it's a massive facility, like um it's a good way to start the new year, you know what I mean? We've got to keep you off a drink. New year new mate. January's like the mo I like January's the most depressing month of the year. Like I just be like, you see already now, like I know like it's exciting having a new gym and engaging with new people and there's all new members that's came in and you're like, and I love it. But then the cost of the thing I go home and I'm just like fuck you looking out the window and it's tarantul rain. Oh yes, I know, I know. Coming in here today, I was soaked. I'm like, fuck. Just fed up. But uh it would the weather be better in Portugal anyway, like 100%. You'd be living it up that I can't wait. Going on Saturday here, like so. You go on Saturday?

SPEAKER_01

It's a Saturday. Uh what day today? Tuesday. Wednesday. Uh yeah, going Saturday and me and my mum are going for a week and I see start like that next week or something. Next I start next week or two weeks' time.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you start two weeks' time for three weeks' holidays, you're not going to just stay here for for a week and standard and uh get you all settled in, tuck you in the bed and all that. What about your brother? Like you you'll miss him, really. He's gonna do your content exactly, mate. No, I don't know. You don't need to bring him a V the sake, come on, you wouldn't.

SPEAKER_01

I told him the comedy he has his own uni and all as well. Fuck that, you just come to me. I know that the way I think but uh what what's he doing in uni? He does uh cooking or something. He does he saw around him because he picked like game he picked game design the first year and he's like, man, that's not for me, chopped out, and then he just picks cooking or something and he picks he picks one every year, mate.

SPEAKER_03

No, fuck that's it.

SPEAKER_01

Just to just to keep him some keep him that on, you mean?

SPEAKER_03

No, I just because it that's it, just keep just keep rotating. That means you've got so many he'll have a variety of skills. Exactly, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

Well not much experience, I think. A year or something.

SPEAKER_03

A year and everything. You can open a Japanese restaurant. That's what you're thinking about actually. Is there any Japanese disaster here? Do you have any Japanese uh restaurants there?

SPEAKER_01

I go to well, I don't really know how much, but I go to uh I don't know what's a Japanese Zen, you call it Zen, uh I go to Earth with my family like that.

SPEAKER_03

I know there was two, there's two in there. Yeah, House of Zen. It's like more Chinese, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

I think I think the the Zen's like Asian fusion is a mix of it iron, but it's like I got the sushi nice a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

Tapanyaki. I've ever seen top and yaki, yeah. Where else we're like a tap and levels, three levels on the little levels, yeah. I was in there a couple years ago as well. That's class on there, like they do good food spirit.

SPEAKER_01

And there's this chicken teryaki. Yeah, yeah. Oh, that's great. Yeah, it's honorable. I had that I had it last night actually.

SPEAKER_03

That's not spicy. Why? But I prefer spicy for I love fucking spicy, like Indian. What's your favorite food?

SPEAKER_01

Favourite food? I mean, it's there's too there's too much to choose from it. Do you know what I mean? I like a spot like I that's Spanish food's like on real when I was in Spain. Paella? Paella, like there's this thing called like Hama Hamani Berico or something called. It's like a barian ham or something.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I just look I don't think I do it like I proper uh every hand eating. I think I get a big plate of it. A big family plate and just eat it almost. I just spend it.

SPEAKER_03

I know nobody here like I think my favourite like style of food would be Asian food. You know, like obviously like you're saying there's so much nice stuff, like obviously everybody has different there's so much uh different variations of food that are great in certain industries, you know, like let's say Asian food. Asian food like Italian people like there's always like a style, what's your favourite restaurant there in the Belfast? People always hit me and I go, fuck, I don't know, like it depends what restaurant you're talking about, because it could be like Fan Dane, it could be like Italian, it could be you know Japan Asian, it could be a Chinese, it could be Indian, you know, it just feels like it depends on the thing.

SPEAKER_01

I I also hang like see if you spend too much time somewhere. Like seeing when I was in Spain, I was missing like a big fryer or like a big bracket of rumors. Yeah, you miss you you miss and then like because I was there for like four or five months and see after about two months in, I was like, I mean I can I'm sick of this food, I want to go back and even if I go on holiday for like a week or two, yeah, just eating all the same foods out.

SPEAKER_03

And you miss you miss like home dinner like something like that, yeah. No, I think it's missing. Do you know what I love here? We do like a deli in like a deli country going to like let's say you went to like a spa and have a deli where you can make your own sandwich. Yeah. That's needed across the world. That's I know I know. Just fresh deli, just make your own get a roll of a s uh or a baguette or something. I know. Chicken take a lattice, jalapeno, butter, give us that a cup of cotton.

Studying Spanish And Portuguese Abroad

SPEAKER_01

I love that makes breakfast wraps. You know, I make the saucy jig, red sauce, brown sauce, whatever. Oh man, lovely. Do you get both red and brown or no no not red and red? Well you get if it's red, you get red, if it's only brown, you get brown. I don't care. Not fussy, you know what I mean? A fussy man's an only mum. Exactly, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We have bird running over like a missus.

SPEAKER_01

No, mate. Nah. Well, I was just drinking I was just drinking. Well, when I was oh in Spain, you mean? Uh I know it was just I didn't didn't get on. Well, I tried to, obviously, but like didn't work, mate. Seriously. Well, some I don't know, uh some things like but uh we'll see I was just drinking. You need it on the old tender or something. That's the thing, I was on that as well. Right? I wasn't actually doing it properly though, I was just like going out there straight. And then the thing is that you get you get like it comes up in the bottom, it's like four matches, and you're like, right, sweet, I just say you and then just big, just big on you know what?

SPEAKER_04

Batting McCock.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm like sure and you from her vlogs, you sweep and it's like oh she's nice, and then you swipe it, it comes up like a match or something, and then uh but it and then you're like oh please, and then it just doesn't work, and then the next one's about I don't know. Like half her, like half her or something, and then it's obviously a match, and you're like, oh man. I can't be back.

SPEAKER_03

I know what I mean.

SPEAKER_01

That's true, like That's true. He he box ugly box off You're right, you're right, Lick.

SPEAKER_04

Internally now it's like a fucking charge for us. I'm saying that therapy season.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, oh fuck I would have shown us uh before you came in there, before we started, your uh I seen him before. I was telling Ryan about your Claxon of football, professional footballers and some legendary names are like Roberto Carlos, Roberto Carlos, Rule, and uh Ronaldo and all them ones, all right. How'd they meet? How did you meet them? Tell us how you met them.

SPEAKER_01

No, literally like well basically not my d my dad. Like he was like um he's made he's he's got friends, he's like a like United fans who is. Yeah. I think it was like it was like a s it was like he met up with all the actually the story is he was in Japan and there's a preseason tour against it was like Madrid and it was like when United were actually good, innit? And like United were playing Japan, and all the apparently this is what he told me, like so all the Madrid players all all walked in and they couldn't get served paint in the in the in the hotel they're staying at, but all the United fans could, all the United players and fans could, because he was staying there. So my dad I was like, mate, I'll get everyone, I'll get it, get it he went up to the the bar and he's like, I'll get everyone around or something.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then he became friendly with like the really friendly, the uh physiotherapist in Madrid.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like a proper physio, right? He's like and he's a boy when I met uh Ronaldo in that uh when it went by birth fair, uh he he came up. I remember I was sitting in the VIP, it was like a in the Madrid, in the Santiago Bernard Bell, there's a VIP section.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And he he came up and he went like out there to me. I was like, right, sweet, what is this? I was like 11 or something at the time. And I'm sitting there in Ronaldo sent right what's happening. Oh no, you thought what's up? What's up? What's up?

SPEAKER_02

Where are you from, Fallsman?

SPEAKER_01

Nah, no, no, I'm not I can't remember. Well someone Portuguese are though. Oh my friend now's like there's photo wearing if you can sit up like I'm just I proper scared. I don't know why I'm scared. People doing animate their nature they're gonna be.

SPEAKER_03

Unbelievable.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna bring up a couple of things, but like old people.

SPEAKER_03

Is it the ancient homes podcast or someone else's? Okay, transferred. Oh, but here that's class. Like he's probably he he I would say he's probably the greatest striker ever, like 100%. I think definitely like I think so. Like obviously he was unfortunate with like so many injuries. Yeah. But like if he didn't have him injuries or nine, you mean? Or nine. Oh or nine, yeah. No, that's Christian.

SPEAKER_01

That's why I say you said 2002.

SPEAKER_02

Oh fuck so that's all that's phenomenal. But R9 as well, man.

SPEAKER_03

You're mad or nine. Yeah, I met R9 as well. Yeah. That's why I was saying Roberto Carlos. I was saying the uh uh more so the legendary ones.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But uh ever seen that game United in Madrid and the clap Ronaldo, he's called a hat trick. Aye.

SPEAKER_03

And then the all the United fans are that was in 2003. Was it?

SPEAKER_01

Uh oh no, it's I've seen it, I've seen clips of a news.

SPEAKER_03

I remember watching that live and being like, fuck me, he's a machine that man. Oh, I know it's just unbelievable football. Just like he had air, isn't it? No, just raw.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think so. Aye. What why is wait what what what was definitely?

SPEAKER_03

There's no var. There was no there was there was harder tackles. Yeah. You were like to tackle players and stuff referee would they get up. It was just like there was more skill-based, it was more like if you think of like players taking a pair on, like Ronaldinho fucking going around players like them. You don't want to risk anything. You don't see anyone doing any like magic. No one very rarely people score wonder goals, eh?

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm gonna go.

SPEAKER_03

Like fucking Roberto Carlos was scoring scoring from fucking 40 yards in. Yeah. You know what I mean? So uh you never see that anymore. That's why it was bad.

SPEAKER_01

I love all the rat like the right, like even that Roy Keenan Vierra rivalry and all as well.

SPEAKER_03

Are there any more air like that? No, you don't. It's too late. It's fancy.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, the right of those actually is nothing like compared to back end.

SPEAKER_03

Nah, so there's no rivalries. Who even like no it's like City and air playing each other we can roll like shaking hands and talking to each other like this before the game even kicks off? Even when what the fuck you doing? Just you're gonna play him.

SPEAKER_01

I said remember where we came and then was it was it smoke or something when he when he went to City? The guy now wouldn't look at him or shake his hand or not.

SPEAKER_03

That's the way it was, eh? That's the way it should be, like it doesn't it reverley doesn't mean anything, it doesn't mean much no more. Like so my mummy night. All about the Benjamins now. Yeah, 100%.

SPEAKER_01

They don't care they're gonna pay enough that I don't don't care about everybody. I know, 100%.

SPEAKER_03

How did you find your boxing feet, Matt? On the button class focus.

SPEAKER_01

Oh I thought I thought I went well, eh? Here could have done better, but did you watch it?

SPEAKER_03

Nah, do you know what happened? Cause it was I live right beside the Danish. Oh do you? So the big bus knock them down and I and I was out. It was like a sunny day, so I was walking with my tail on the scooter and big red fucking double decker bus, Robert Lusion always pulling up in the bottom. Oh, is that a little bit? I remember that pulling up, I was like, fuck me, what's going on in the back of the room? I was like, and then I just didn't even win. I just I didn't even have a plan to go in there, but I would have been good cracked my own. No, Gab says me he's coming up now, but I was just busy with Taylor and then it was just a note before we mark it. It wasn't. And then I ended up being fucking Connor Burns to bite there and lose his own. I know. And then uh my cousin actually fought on as well, Tupac. Tupac. I oh yeah. He's my cousin now.

SPEAKER_01

He's he oh their fight was the best we were. Well, they got the best I need.

SPEAKER_04

Did you man?

SPEAKER_01

No, I won it, yeah, yeah. But that their fight was just I'm watching and I was sitting around a lot of boys, and I wasn't mad at like him and Sean Brown. Yeah, I don't even know what I came about because he was meant to fight some boy I don't know, I don't know who he was meant to fight, but uh I seen Lambo in town. I was in my mate, I seen Lambo in town, Lambo Slace, and he was like, mate, are we we eventually we event or something? Uh-huh. Boxing event and uh you've got eyebrows. I didn't know who eyebrows was at the time because I didn't really know him, and then it's like right, sweet assuming I'm up brother here, and then I find out his eyebrows like right and then and then I'm just I was like, why not? And then I'm just fuck me, he's probably a long hair.

SPEAKER_03

Good night, like he's like that's all he's fucking his skin and bone.

SPEAKER_01

And then he was saying, he was saying I'm much bigger after the pipe, he was like, I'm much bigger than him. No, he's my either I'm much bigger than him.

SPEAKER_03

Oh you have a lecture, fuck me, he's like he's like at these. Oh, I know. I see him what what falls road pushing his prom or revest up or something.

SPEAKER_01

Fuck me. He's out everywhere, isn't he? He's everywhere, and he's always on that Gavin's like YouTube and all that.

SPEAKER_03

I know he's he was on that loves it like he loves it. I see one of Gab and bring him out on the on the drink and he was black. Yes, he was sick on the on the I I look, I I look Garms video, they're funny. Good crack, like crack because Gabin was saying you were on his podcast too a few things, weren't you?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. That's what I was like I I was coming home, I I was going uh no, I was in Oviedo and I went meet as my I got a cheaper flight and I was going from Oviedo to Lanzarote to Belfast. Oh fuck. And then the when I got to Lanzarote, my flight was gone already gone. Oh yeah, you can't. So I had to stay a night in Lanzarote, and then Gavin texted me when I was there and said I was gonna get a flight for a Monday book, I think, but then I didn't realise it was on a Sunday, so I got I got a flight home early and then ended up like yeah, I got there, and then at an hour had to drive from international to where his podcast is at, and then done my podcast is John Man.

SPEAKER_03

I think we're right, and then there's you go home, but did you stay for a few days or what?

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I just won't after that. Oh wait, no, no, no, no, no, no. I mean like no stay coming. That's not too bad, yeah. Not too bad, nah. That's me done with Spain there.

SPEAKER_03

You got me back for years. Alright. Stick in Portugal for a minute. Alright. Would you ever do your own pop podcast?

SPEAKER_01

That's actually thinking that I I love I love it. I always watch podcasts. I just have to I just stick as public podcast on us watching it. Uh huh. Stick like Sheen Tosman or like whatever. Like that's anyone's I like ones from here, like I like the accent. I like the accent. It's more related. More relatable, yeah, 100%. You can relate the stories and stuff. Like I was like the you're on a drama or name.

SPEAKER_04

Wasn't born as fuck.

SPEAKER_01

No, I just took it on, but I think it was like yeah, because when I woke up, it was still going. It was a different I think it was like the front one or something. Was it on? Yeah. An X one or something. So like, yeah, I always fall asleep watching them for some reason. Have you got a favourite podcast?

SPEAKER_03

Favourite podcast I ever like if you got like a certain like no, like people love T with me, which is Shane Todd's one. People love that podcast, working class podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, do you mean like any one or do you mean on? I used I used to watch like that Drew Rugan quite a bit.

SPEAKER_03

He he brings on loads of like exciting, like interesting, sorry, very interesting people, like uh I like that.

SPEAKER_01

Was him Tyson Fury or something? I was like, I like I used to like Goggins and all as well. You know Goggins, uh mental myth. He's fucking married. See Tyson Fury as well. I was so you see when Tyson Fury fought in Belfast when he's come first returned to fight, do you remember? Yeah, I fought on. Did you? I was on that car, uh serious. He fought, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Windsor Park, was it? Yeah, in Windsor Park, yeah. I made my debut on that car. Are you serious? Uh-huh.

Belfast Costs, Nights Out, And Culture Shock

SPEAKER_01

I didn't even know I didn't really like it. No, I was think I was thinking of that already already. I seen him. I was in I was going to a city camp. Like when I used to play football now, I was going to like a man's city camp in Manchester. Next day, me and my brother got the flight to Manchester. He we're sitting in like two, I think it was two C and two E, two D, sorry. Um Tyson Ferry walks on to quit playing. He's going to Manchester. I didn't really know he, I didn't really know him. My dad talked about him quite a lot, but I didn't know him back then. I know him, obviously, because he's massive now. But like, oh, he was on the train and ducked down on his head, massive. Yeah. And he's like, oh, kind of died, Coke. I was like, what? That's mental. I said, why is he sitting? He's sitting right in front of me, and I'm sitting, I'm sitting, and he's there, and his whole team's around him, his wife and all. So and I I got a photo, the photo's blurry and all. I got a photo, I'm gonna get a photo at the airport. And I was like, you says and then he's like shook shook the camera and the photo's terrible. Like, not in words, not in color photo, but like I I thought it was mental, and then I seen him after after that, after that, he came to Manchester. After I sit met him, I just see him like fighting Deontay Wilder and on like all these fights. He just grew massive.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I don't know he was big before. He was big for one. He was big enough. Uh he was world champion, he beat uh Clitsco, but then he he he took like a year or two, he had met the card. And he was a big heavy thing, then he came back and fallen off. I don't know, it's you can feel that, like he's he's some federal two, like no. Wait, you were fighting on that card? No, I mean uh fella called Ronald Mora or something. He's like Nicaraguan. What is it? But he's like it was my debut, I beat I bothered him like just beat him up. Oh, seriously, I biked him up.

SPEAKER_01

Fair enough, all right. When's it big? When's the big shop?

SPEAKER_03

Hopefully I'll I'll fight hopefully fight in April. Serious? I'm tour between the shows, isn't it? So like we're sort of waiting on what's gonna happen with Lewis Crocker. Oh Lewis Crotter, yeah. So he may be fighting here in April. End April, start of May maybe. Yeah, but there's a way better complications on that show because it's going to Prosperit, which means from Power will fall from Australia. So it may end up in Australia, which means I won't play on that show. Or if not, I'll get Tanisday fight in Dubai on the 17th of April. So I mean, so wait I don't really know.

SPEAKER_01

See a box and then so wait, what a bit are you well wait a I can see the way the weights work.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So high obviously the Kaiser for another heavyweight, crazy weight, late heavyweight, super middleweight, middleweight, light middleweight.

SPEAKER_01

It's a bantam weight as well. Good do you do you know a boy called uh Inoe? You know it.

SPEAKER_03

Now, he's a class one, I bet.

SPEAKER_01

I I my mum was talking about it.

SPEAKER_03

He's like he's oh he's a Japanese boxer, he's a bit probably he's a can't free parent for parent best across the board. Seriously, he's unbelievable.

SPEAKER_01

No, he's had a video. My brother and my brother are watching him already, and I think severely hard. But he's like he's real what he what is height?

SPEAKER_03

Super bond. He'd be very late, very small. He would be like fifty six kilograms, maybe. What are you? Sixty-three. I fear that sixty three. I need to cut the bottom feet off. Oh but I'm too big for him. But I like I I walk around 70 but 71 kilograms, then I'll drop down to 63.5 kilograms to fit. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

How do you how do you like cut for a feet?

SPEAKER_03

It's easy, you just when you've done it that many times, it's easy. But like for me, I just cut down weight. I'm 70, say I'm 71 now. Yeah. I'll start training camp, say an eight-week training camp. I'll just cross you and break down to like sixty seven. I'll lose body fat, break down to like sixty-seven, sixty-eight kilograms, and then on the last week I'll lose like five kg of water. Just not drink water like no, just dehydrate, completely dehydrate your body from water, which means taking out carbohydrates, sugar, salt. How do you feel like flavour?

SPEAKER_01

How do you feel like when you're doing it? Like shit. Oh, what's it?

SPEAKER_03

Oh right. Severely dehydrated, just can't even sleep at night. It's only for a couple of days, I don't know. Oh, that's what we are. And then when you win and celebrate.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, I'm off it. I'm clear. Nah, I joined.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Monsieur video you up next week, black from the ramport.

It was a video of me, he tagged me in it, and I was just screaming like almost randomly. I was like, Kevin Forex, I'm gonna fight you. And I I just blocked like I don't know what I don't know why I was gonna do it.

SPEAKER_03

Is this just last night?

SPEAKER_01

This no, it's not last night. Last night. That was uh boxing day. Oh boxing. That was the last time I drunk, and I was like, that's nice. I don't know. I want to get back in the four of a top leg?

SPEAKER_04

Have you ever done any boxing training?

SPEAKER_01

That's the thing, though. I I uh see before I've seen I talked to Limbo about that fight or we got that sorted. I uh there's a boy I know, Billy McAlstreak on. He's an a he's like an amateur boxer or something. But uh I he was he was working one day and I I came up to him and he's like, mate, would you I'm fighting on this car there? Can you give me like a wee bit of training, like a pedot training?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So he helped me out. Like he got me like a few a sparring on, but he was like because he's an amateur boxer, he's actually quite good right now.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, no, most amateurs are better than most professionals at a high level.

SPEAKER_01

Like Yeah, no, he was uh yeah, I think he went like county antrum or something like five antrum or something like that. I don't know, he went the where's that I can't even replace it. Some probably is somewhere anyway. But uh I he trained he kind of trimmed me up, he can't he trained me up a wee bit for a hike. Just so I was prepared. I don't want to get beat.

SPEAKER_03

It's a lot more it can humble a lot of people because people be when you get in there and start swinging, swinging for.

SPEAKER_01

I was quite I didn't I didn't realise the crowd of it and I was like I'm walking out and I'm like I was like I w I've then I said I wasn't nervous before and I was like nah I'm not nervous but I'm seeing when I see you for when you actually got to it and you're like there's a weird and I was taking it.
