Speaker 2:We all aim to eat balanced meals, but let's face it, life happens and sometimes our diets fall short. That's where supplements step in, bridging the gaps in nutrition and giving your body the boost it needs to thrive. But with so many options on the shelves, how do you know which ones are worth it? Let's uncover the truth about supplements and why they could be the missing link in your wellness journey. All right, welcome back everybody. Skip Monty here, co-host slash producer, back in the studio with Reverend Anne Marie Byers and Rochelle Gianaris. Anne Marie and Rochelle, how's it going?
Speaker 4:Wonderful Doing good. How are you Skip?
Speaker 2:I'm doing just fine, just watching it snow.
Speaker 4:Same here.
Speaker 2:I'm warming, warm and cozy, so I'm good. So, anne Marie and Rochelle, maybe, rochelle, we'll start with you. Why are supplements important in your diet and general health?
Speaker 4:It's a great place to start Skip. So back in the 1950s, even as far back as then, they were doing studies on the soil that showed it was deficient in 15 essential vitamins and nutrients. That showed it was deficient in 15 essential vitamins and nutrients. So even back in the 50s, our soil was not able to infuse the nutrients that our bodies need into the food that we were getting. So that's where supplements can be really handy to fill those gaps and to also let you fine tune to what your body specifically needs as far as vitamins and minerals go. There's a lot of different supplement lines, and ours happens to be a little bit different in that we develop and continue to update our supplements based on what the bodies of the current population need and require.
Speaker 2:Reverend Ann, you have anything to add to that?
Speaker 3:Well, yes, and just think if in the 1950s, which was less than 70 years ago, we had 50 nutrients that were deficient, think of how many nutrients could be deficient now with the farming of the soils industrially all these years. So the body is a collection of circuits. If you relate to circuits in your television, in your car, if a component is out of tolerance, let's say you have a strand of light bulbs and one of the light bulbs goes out and it's one of those old kind that you had to have all the components working to have a string of lights work. Well, that's the way your body circuits are. If you have a component out of tolerance, it either is not going to work or it's not going to work as well.
Speaker 3:So all of our supplements are considered food. They're food to keep these circuits working well and for people who relate to that. That's one way to think of it. And women in particular always want to look good, and so I've had a lot of women who come to see me because they want to look good, and nutrition is the best place to start for looking good. Certain things like zinc and vitamin C are really good for the skin, so those are also important for the immune system, but they're important for the skin and to make you look good. So, just in general, all of our supplements are good manufacturing practice, certified. They're certified, they're created in the best labs, they're synergistic and we add a component called biokinetic energy. There's an energetic component to balance them, to make them work even better in the body.
Speaker 2:What are the most common deficiencies that supplements can help address?
Speaker 3:Well, there are only certain things we can talk about that are actual deficiencies, and one is vitamin C. Vitamin C is important not just for the skin but the immune system, and you may remember hearing stories about sailors who got scurvy because they did not have vitamin C when they were at sea and so that is a very common supplement that is extremely important for the body. Zinc is another one. A lot of people are deficient in zinc. There's not enough zinc in the soil, and that affects the skin, many processes in the body and the immune system. So those are two of the very most common, another being vitamin D. People don't get out in the sun as much, and vitamin D is very important for many processes in the body and the immune system in particular.
Speaker 4:So this time of year, those are three things that people really need to take and supplement with are vitamin D, zinc and vitamin C, and I think this kind of goes to say that you start with a good multivitamin to kind of hit a little bit of everything and then you can add in some of those that we know to be extra beneficial, especially seasonally or at certain times of the year, like Anne said.
Speaker 2:So, rochelle, how can somebody determine the quality and the safety of the supplements that they choose?
Speaker 4:That's a really good question. So we have a muscle testing technique that we use in holographic health to kind of help determine dosage. Is this the right thing for this body? And it's interesting we've had clients as well as practitioners that work with us who have compared how our vitamin C, called Complete C, compares to another really good brand that you can get at the store and it was very interesting what they found. They found that for their body and some of their clients' bodies that they only needed one of our Complete C formulas compared to four of the other brands.
Speaker 4:So even on the label, the label can tell you how much is in the supplement, but it doesn't always tell you how well your body will absorb what is in the supplement. So not not all supplements, even if they say 100 micrograms of something that's not always available for your body to absorb. So the neat thing about holographic health and how we practice is that we can use muscle testing to help determine, you know, is this supplement the right one for this body or and the dosage and how does it compare with this other one? And you might get away with taking one of ours and four of another one or three or whatever, but it's also the availability. So it kind of comes down to a lot of different factors and they're going to be different for everybody. So that's what's really neat about holographic health is that we can figure that out with muscle testing and not just guesswork can figure that out with muscle testing and not just guesswork.
Speaker 3:And let's start with the basics of the fact that our supplements are all created in FDA controlled facilities. The FDA does not approve anything. They control the food sources and so supplements are food. They're considered food by the FDA and so they're created in labs that are certified with good manufacturing practices and controlled by the FDA, so that makes them sure they're safe. And we also make sure that good ingredients are used. In fact they're all vegan or vegetarian ingredients with veggie caps, so they're easily digested and absorbed and they're synergistic.
Speaker 3:That means there are additional components added, like with our Complete C. We have quercetin included in there and different forms of vitamin C, so that they are a lot better absorbed by the body than just, let's say, a citric acid that just is a hard tablet and has one form of vitamin C in it. So we use different forms so the different bodies can assimilate them better. And then we add the quercetin, which makes it a more synergistic form for the body as a whole. So that makes our vitamin C work four times better than just a standard vitamin C.
Speaker 3:This actually was a really good brand.
Speaker 3:We were quite surprised by the results, and so we really stand by what we create or what we specify.
Speaker 3:And, of course, the labs and the FDA ensure that what is on the label is what is actually in the product.
Speaker 3:That was not true in years past, but that is the basis of all of our supplements.
Speaker 3:They are created synergistically in good laboratories and they're also created with good energy behind them and a lot of love and research by our founder as well as, as we said, ourselves, because bodies today are different from bodies 50 years ago. So that's the one thing that Dr Broody, our founder, said you have to move with what people need today, and so supplements that were really good 50 years ago are not as good today. Some of it is increases in the understanding by science and also, as Rochelle pointed out, we use our form of muscles testing to ensure what we are suggesting that the client take for themselves. And remember we do not prescribe. We make suggestions for the client that this is what God and their body are suggesting for them to try, and then that helps to fill in the gaps in what is missing in the food. We always say food is your first medicine and you want to have a good diet to start with, then utilize good supplementation to fill in those gaps, those components that are missing or out of tolerance.
Speaker 2:Wow, man, that is a lot to navigate. I am so thankful that you guys are in business because you know somebody like me. I'd be lost without some direction. So let's say that I go with your guys' professional recommendations on supplements and I start taking those. Does that mean I can skip the broccoli?
Speaker 4:Probably not said in another episode. Starting with the good, organic whole foods is your foundation, and then the supplements just kind of add those missing pieces like we talked about, and remember that you are everything you take in.
Speaker 3:so you want to take in good food for the body, mind and spirit, and so you know we firmly believe in prayer and in. You know God being in our lives and asking for help when we need it. So you want to take in good food for the body, mind and spirit, and that means eating organic food. Watching If you're going to watch television, make sure it's something uplifting, not something that you're going to have to then get out of your body. So those are all very important.
Speaker 2:Absolutely. I couldn't agree more, and the spiritual part of that is super important to me, so I really appreciate what you guys are doing. I'm really excited to continue to learn more about holographic health and what you guys can do to make us feel better.
Speaker 2:I don't want to be a bag of Doritos, so I'm going to keep listening. If you said you are what you eat, I don't want to be a bag of Doritos. Anyway, Reverend Ann and Rochelle, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you being here on the show with us today and we'll catch you in the next episode. I hope you guys have a great rest of the day.
