The Gentle Detox Revolution: Safety First

Rev. Ann Marie Byars & Rachelle Gianaris Episode 16

How Do I Safely Detox From Contaminants In My Food And Water?

Your body's toxic burden isn't just what you've accumulated—it's a legacy spanning four generations. This eye-opening conversation with Reverend Ann Marie Byars and Rachelle Gianaris reveals why the popular "detox fast" approach isn't just ineffective—it can be downright dangerous.

When toxins stored in your fatty tissue and organs are suddenly mobilized, they re-enter your bloodstream and can trigger everything from rashes to severe illness. The conversation takes surprising turns as we discover how hormones from birth control pills end up in municipal water supplies, how dental work can release stored mercury into your system, and why the toxins your great-grandparents were exposed to—from lead-based paint to DDT—might still be affecting your health today. Practical wisdom abounds, from the unexpected benefits of morning celery juice to the importance of limiting meat consumption during detoxification periods, all delivered with the warmth and expertise that defines Holographic Health's approach to wellness.

Whether you're dealing with unexplained health issues or simply want to optimize your wellbeing, this conversation offers a refreshingly different perspective on detoxification—one that prioritizes safety, comfort, and long-term results over quick fixes. Ready to transform your approach to cleansing? Your journey to genuine detoxification begins with understanding why slower is actually faster when it comes to truly purifying your system.

Wonderful Skip. How about yours, it's?

Speaker 2:

been good Been. Super busy and hot, but good.

Speaker 4:

Rochelle how about you, good Busy? I think everybody's summers are getting eaten up by fun and all the fun events that go on.

Speaker 2:

All right, that's awesome. That's what summer's for. So, speaking of summer, summer usually involves a lot of water. Well, we should be drinking it, but you know you play in a lot of water. But I know that today's topic gets close to home for so many. Let's help our listeners cut through the noise about detoxing. How do I safely detox from contaminants in my food and water? Rochelle?

Speaker 4:

I think, first, it's important to listen back to our previous episodes that we talked a lot about diet and nutrition and making sure that you've got a clean plate to start with, because that's really going to support your body and limit the toxins that come in. The next thing that we would look at is are you having any reactions, are you having any allergies, because that is often a sign that you do need to detox. So we would probably start with looking at food and the foods specifically for your body that you may want to adjust or tweak or add in or maybe remove, and then we have a lot of great supplements to support the gut and the biome in your gut that support your immune system. So that's probably where we would start with many people. Anne, would you like to elaborate? So that's probably where we would start with many people.

Speaker 3:

Ann, would you like to elaborate? Yes, first of all, as Rochelle said, we want to limit the toxins we take in, because city water and just filtered water have a lot of contaminants still in there, like hormones and the glyphosate, things that are not filtered out. So you want a good water filter in your house, or to choose good water that comes from a good aquifer, so that you don't bring in contaminants to start with, and the same with food making sure you're eating organic, because you don't want to bring in the toxins as much as possible. Once we get to that point, though, then you have heavy metals and things like that stored in the body. They get stored in the fatty tissue. They can cross into the blood-brain barrier because the brain is mostly fat, and so we want to detox these heavy metals and other contaminants from the body.

Speaker 3:

We have a product called Clean Sweep that really helps to pull the heavy metals out of the body, and we can also do our holopathics, which targets specific toxins and help to pull those out. Of course, making sure you're doing something like juicing. I've recently learned and started doing celery juice first thing in the morning. That really helps to reset the body and you can get organic celery from Walmart and other places, and there's some really good juicers out there that make it quick and easy to create some celery juice first thing in the morning, and so you would do that before eating or drinking anything else. So celery juice first thing in the morning and then eating a good diet, using something like our clean sweet to help pull the toxins and the heavy metals out of the body. But also you want to do this slowly, because when you go through any kind of detox, you can feel like you're having flu-like symptoms or just headaches and things like that, and so we don't want to make people feel worse and we can use our muscle testing system to determine which heavy metals we're talking about or which toxins whether that's toxins from food or toxins from the environment or a geopathological toxin, radiation, you name it. We can test for it and then slowly develop a program to gradually pull these out of the body Because, let's face it, you have gradually pull these out of the body Because, let's face it, you have to pull them out.

Speaker 3:

They have to come out through the skin, perspiration etc. And that can cause rashes and, like I said, flu-like symptoms etc. And somebody can get really, really sick by pulling these toxins out of the body. People get toxins from vaccinations, even from four generations back. So that means whatever toxins your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents brought in whether it was lead, mercury, arsenic etc. Those come in through the birth process, through the gestation, in the mother.

Speaker 3:

So we have to look at pulling those out and you may not even know you have those. You may know you grew up in a house that was pre-1900 and may have had lead-based paint or may have had arsenic in the water if you had well water, things like that. And then we know about the glyphosates that have been in the recent environment. But then there was DDT back in the 50s and people took baths in that. They sprayed crops, sprayed children, you name it. All of those things are still in the body and we want to gradually pull those out. We wanna use plenty of good water to flush those. We wanna use something like Clean Sweep to pull those out gradually, eating good food so we don't put more in there. But then the more gradually we pull them out, the more comfortable it will be and we won't have as many rashes and things like that directly related to the detox.

Speaker 2:

Wow, hormones and heavy metals yeah.

Speaker 4:

The hormones from, like the pill birth control contraceptives. People will toss them, throw them in the toilet and flush them. So you'd be surprised what all you find in our water. Wow, Well and think about it.

Speaker 3:

The city water is purified from what goes in the body and what comes out. And if you are taking a contraceptive, where does the wastewater go? You also have the runoff from agrochemicals and all that Not as maybe as much in this country as in some others. Like China has a huge number of agrochemicals and pesticides. They use like 1.83 billion tons of pesticides compared to India that uses like half a billion. So all of that runoff goes into the water as well. So even if you are eating organic, you might still be getting pesticide residue in city water. You have to think about that when you're looking at the water you take in A good home water filtration system. But then the water that you purchase, look at the source of that. Something like Fiji or Splendor or Holstein, something from good deep earth aquifers in good locations that don't have that runoff. That's important these days.

Speaker 2:

Wow. So doing it slowly is very important, because otherwise it could be harmful.

Speaker 3:

Yes, yeah, you can get really sick from a detox. Dr Brudy once said that you can die from a detox if it's too much. Wow. So you have to think about that. These chemicals and things stored deeply in the body when you start detoxing, you're pulling them out, they're getting into the bloodstream so they're active again, like mercury. And my surgery is my cancer diagnosis. One was after I had some major dental work done and it was mercury fillings that I didn't have the right dentist. If you're going to have mercury fillings removed, you have to find a dentist that is really very adept at putting you on oxygen, building a dam in the body that knows how to do that. Otherwise you can get really sick from that process. So all of that really is important.

Speaker 4:

Well, and if you think about it, it's almost like your body is used to having these things in it. So if you make a major change all at once, like your body doesn't know how to react to that, or a change all at once, like your body doesn't know how to react to that. So the more gentle you are, the slower you go. People like me we just want to get it done, but when you look at the cost benefit ratio to doing it quickly versus slowly, you're gonna see more of the benefit by going slower because you won't be miserable wow well.

Speaker 3:

And it's just like weight loss the slower you do things, the easier it is on the body, and that's what you want. You want the balance, the homeostasis, and you want it to be gentle.

Speaker 2:

You mentioned celery juice. Are there other foods that support or hinder detox efforts?

Speaker 3:

juice. Are there other foods that support or hinder detox efforts? Well, of course you want to avoid too much sugar or soda or anything like that, and too many carbs or simple carbs are not good. Now a good whole grain like sourdough bread is going to really help support the body, provide good bacteria. The roughage really helps to pull things out. Inulin fiber, and good fiber like in inulin fiber from fruits like apples, helps to pull the toxins out and flush them through more quickly. The same with a good bread that has good organic grains. You've got the roughage that helps to pull the toxins through the digestive system more quickly. So things like that are really helpful. And it's just that celery juice has one of those properties of pulling things out and helping to reset the body. Pomegranate juice is another one that's good for a certain kind of bacteria that helps support the body.

Speaker 4:

Well, and to support that, though, you would also want to limit your meats, so making sure to get protein from other sources while you're doing a detox, because meat is really hard on the body to digest, so to let those fibrous is really hard on the body to digest, so to let those fibrous leafy greens do their job more effectively, you would want to limit your red meat, especially those really heavy proteins, while you're doing a detox. Fish would probably be okay as long as it's from a good source with no mercury, but those heavier meats would probably slow the process down quite a bit heavier meats would probably slow the process down quite a bit.

Speaker 3:

Yes, in fact, dr Verrilli once said anybody facing a major cancer diagnosis or anything, if you eat meat at all, only do white fish and only in the morning. And so anyone who eats meat or fish, you need a good source of that Doesn't have the chemicals, that doesn't have the hormones included in it, and so organic meat and only if you're going through a detox, limit those, avoid them if at all possible, but severely limit any kind of protein source like that. Protein source like that. You can do eggs, but do them, do organic ones, and just be careful with the sourcing. That's the most important thing to take in here.

Speaker 2:

So hopefully local eggs, like I got a neighbor that's got chickens, that's okay.

Speaker 4:

Oh yeah, that's probably the best kind.

Speaker 3:

That's right.

Speaker 4:

The more colorful the shells, the better.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely love them. Well, ladies, this was incredibly enlightening. I did not know detoxing slow was important and so that was a big surprise to me, but makes it safe and we appreciate you filling us all in, and we'll see you next time as we keep exploring the path to total wellness.
