Chair Faith: Why We Trust What We Can't See

In the Field Audio Bible Season 201 Episode 2

What if the simple act of sitting in a chair could reveal the profound mystery of faith? Pastor Hezron Marwa takes us on a journey through the essential nature of faith, beginning with this everyday metaphor that perfectly captures what Hebrews 11:1 calls "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Drawing from powerful biblical examples, Pastor Marwa explores five critical dimensions of faith that transform our spiritual lives. We discover why faith literally makes it possible to please God, how Jesus actively notices our faith levels, and the remarkable way faith moves God to action. Through the contrasting stories of the persistent Gentile woman and the doubting disciple Peter, we see how faith quality—not quantity—determines our spiritual outcomes.

For those weathering life's storms, this message offers particular comfort. Faith functions as our spiritual shield during trials, producing perseverance and proving "more precious than gold." Pastor Marwa compassionately addresses those on the verge of giving up, offering a powerful pregnancy metaphor: what you've been carrying in prayer is about to be birthed! The message culminates with practical insights on faith and works, showing how these inseparable partners must move together to create an authentic Christian witness.

Whether you're struggling to trust God with unanswered prayers or seeking to understand the biblical foundations of faith, this message provides both theological depth and practical application. Pastor Marwa's passion for helping believers develop unshakable faith shines through every word. Connect with him on social media platforms to continue strengthening your faith journey and discover how this "chair faith" can transform your relationship with God.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

Praise the name of living God. I'm blessed to have you in this morning telecast. I'm Hezron Marwa, I'm born again Christian from the land of Kenya, and today I just want to speak with you, wherever you are, on this morning telecast, about the topic known as the important of faith, and I want to speak in advance. There's some few things and some few points that I'll be commenting due to this topic, and I believe that God is going to bless you on this morning section, that I want to speak with you, with you wherever you want. I know that there's quite good number of people right now that listening me all over the world that are listening to this message or maybe it will come later to your platform through this radio that I'm speaking with you, that God loves you and I want you to be aware that you are loved than anything else. This morning I want to speak with you from the book of Hebrews 11: 1. From the book of Hebrews 11: 1, the Bible says but without faith, it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Diligently seek him. Now, I want you to understand that when we speak about the word faith, the word faith, or when you hear the word faith, there's a few things that you need to think of. When you hear about the word faith, there's a few things that you need to think of. Whether you realize it or not, faith is an installed part of life, not just a Christianity. But in every time you sit down on a chair, you have faith. That chair will hold you. You are trusting that the chair won't collapse under you. That faith Now you have faith with that chair. That faith being sure of what you are hoping for, being certain of what you don't see or experience yet. The Bible defines faith as the substance of things, hoping for the evidence of things not seen, as the way we have read in Hebrews 11: 1. But without faith, it is impossible to please him. Now, number one Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Why is faith very necessary? Why faith is very necessary? Because without it we cannot please God, as we have read in Hebrews 11: 1. Now we need faith so that we can please God. Oh my God. We need faith so that we can please God. So when you have faith, when you have faith means that you believe in God, and we cannot see or believe that he is who he says he is. But it takes faith, and when it takes faith, now you please God. Number two among the few things that I want to share with you wherever you are. Number 2, Jesus noticed our level of faith.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

When you read in the Book of Matthew, we see two different people with two different faith levels. When you read Matthew 50: 28, then Jesus answered and said to her All woman, great is your faith, let it be to you and you desire. And her daughter was healed from that very horror. And also, when you read in Matthew 14: 31, and immediately Jesus scratched out his hand and the caught him and said to him oh, you of little faith, why did you doubt? Now you see, the woman was a gentle who had faith that Jesus was the only hope for her sick daughter. She wouldn't take no for an answer from this Jews rabbi. So Jesus, he is the only answer. Answer and she believes on that and whereby she requested her faith to gather her request.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

But we see, the man with a little faith was known as Peter, Jesus' own disciple. Jesus was walking on the water and they invited Peter to come to him. Peter had the faith to walk to Jesus on the water, but when his eyes focused on the wind and the waves, he became afraid and he began to sink. Who needs to keep our eyes on Jesus? That's what we need to do. You need to keep our eyes on Jesus. That's what we need to do. You need to keep your eyes on Jesus. You need to focus on Jesus. You need to depend on Jesus Instead of some other circumstances. Just focus on Jesus.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

Number 3 faith moves God's act. When reading the book of James 1: 5, verse said I might not get enough time to read for you. But also when reading Mark 2: 5, also it speaks in advance about faith moves God to act. Your faith moves God to act. And there's some several, quite good number of books that I might read. In the word faith, I've been written in the Bible 365. So there's a lot of things that I might speak on in advance, but right now I might not get enough time to tell you.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

But when you read in Mark 2: 5, the Bible says when Jesus saw his friend's faith, he said to his paralytic son your sins are forgiven. When he saw the faith of friends, know the faith of this sick paralytic, the faith of his friends. And when he saw the faith, he led the man up, he grabbed his mat and they went home Because he saw the faith of his friends. Now, when Jesus saw the faith of the layman friends, he moves on their behalf. He moves and he healed the friend. That's the work of the faith.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

Now, as a Christian, we often petition God, asking him to meet our needs, to heal our bodies, our relationship, to give us wisdom. As the book of James 1: 5- 7, says, unless we ask in faith, without doubting, we must receive that we are asking for. So you don't need to have a doubt on asking. Another thing that I want you to understand faith strengthens us during the trials. This is a very big topic and a topic that needs time, a topic that needs you to have enough time To speak on, but I want you to understand that faith strengthens us During trial, because we live in a sinful, a fallen world. We face difficulties, but our faith is what helps us Run strong during hard times. We have an enemy and it is our faith that acts as a shield to protect us from the sick, protect us from his shims, protect us from the plagues, above all things that shield our faith with which we will able to To scratch on that faith, we should not be surprised when our faith is tested.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

As the way James 2:3 says, the faith of your faith produces the practice. As we stand firm in faith, through trials, God gets us glory. Hallelujah, that richness of your faith being much more precious than call that the parishes, during the test by fair, parishes during the test by fire, may found to praise honor and the glory as the revelation of Jesus Christ. And, I think, the last but not least, faith flesh what we do, faith flesh what we do. We demonstrate our faith in God by what we do and how we live, for as we bury without the spirit of death. Oh, the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead. Also, when you give the picture, or the full picture, of the word faith, faith and works, these things have to be combined together. Each old row needs to be combined together. Each or row needs to be combined together. They work together, they move together, they work forward together. Chaining faith is evaluated by action that flow, so likewise, actions done without faith, it is useless. We must always act in faith.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

I want to speak with someone that maybe you are listening to this broadcast, this telecast. I'm coming to you through this radio to tell you that you need to raise your faith in the word of God. You need to have faith because faith is the only thing that will help you. Faith is the only thing that will carry you from one moment to another one. It is unshakable faith. It is unnoticeable when it is encouraged inside you. Oh, let me talk with someone that you need to raise your faith in the word of God and believe in the word of God. What you have been praying, what you have been asking God for quite a good number of years, what you have been believing God for quite a good number of years. Let me tell you you are like a woman that have carried a pregnancy for nine months, expecting the last days you have to give birth. Let me tell you you're going to give part of the dream of the prayer of your life in the mind name of Jesus safe. Oh, I'm speaking with someone. Maybe you are believing that bad. You have reached a maximum whereby even you are ready to to to hang yourself.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

I want to speak to you, that you need to raise your faith in the Word of God. You need to trust the Word of God. You need to believe in the Word of God. You need to stand firm in your position because God, he's our God and always is on the throne and he can fight to a bottle. May God bless you so much. Let me just speak a word of prayer to you, our own heavenly master. I bless these people that are listening to this telecast in the name of Jesus. I bless their lives. I bless everything that they are doing, as they are blessing to this telecast, as they are blessing to this radio morning. I bless them. May God bless you In the name of Jesus. I speak a blessing to you. Have a nice time.

Pastor Hezron Marwa:

I'm Hezron Marwa. You can be able to follow me on all social media platforms. I'm on Facebook as Hazel Marwa H-E-Z-R-O-N. Marwa is M-A-R-W-A, and also I'm on YouTube as Hezron Marwa, the same name and those other platforms, TikTok and Instagram. You can be able to find me there and then we can interact. We share a lot about the kingdom of God, but this time let me just tell you that faith is a foundation of salvation. When you have faith. It is a foundation of salvation. Jesus walked in the earth and the jewish people, were sure, had to keep the roots of the law in order to accept to God. But when Jesus came, he refrained a righteousness, a man not justified by the work of the law, but by the faith in Jesus Christ. May God bless you wherever you are. Bye, bye.
