Speaker 1:

Hello, beautiful soul, and welcome to episode 8 of the Money Nomad podcast. I'm your host, brandon Byrne, also known as the Money Nomad, and today we're talking about the astrology of 2025. Because, honestly, 2025 changes everything. Between November of 2024 and July of 2025, every planet changes signs, and some of these planets have been in the same sign for more than a decade, so we've adjusted to their energies. They've felt like parts of the backdrop for a while now, but this year it's as if someone sneaks into our cosmic living room and switches out all the furniture.

Speaker 1:

The key to working with these shakeups is trust Trusting that change can be generative, trusting your inner wise one to recognize which path is yours to take, and trusting the story to unfold and not skip ahead to the ending. While there are challenges to face, this year, 2025 also has the potential to be pleasantly fruitful. With big change comes big opportunity. The question for you to puzzle over as we move through the energy of the year is what parts of your life do you want to nurture, deepen and grow? And that kind of reminds me of what my 2024 mantra was all about, which was water what waters you? And that mantra rings true again this year. It's honestly, kind of just a good mantra in terms of investing in yourself and investing in what makes you better. So, if you don't quite know who I am yet, I am a wealth coach, bitcoin educator and astrologer and I help people become fabulously wealthy through the art of investing, both investing in yourself as well as getting your money invested, which just means that your money is making money for you while you sleep, because my definition of financial freedom has a lot to do with freedom over my time. And astrology is a really cool practice because it is a time-honoring exercise and it gives us a lot of insights into where we are in terms of the cycle of history and where we're at in terms of the current times. Of the cycle of history and where we're at in terms of the current times, and the astrology of 2025 is some of the most world-changing astrology we've had in a long time. So, because of that, I think 2025 will change the world even more so than 2020 did. We are truly living through unprecedented times. A lot is in flux in the world right now, and if you only focus on what's crumbling around you, it can be easy to fall into a trap of pessimism or even nihilism the old way of doing things is dying, but it is giving way to a beautiful rebirth, and so if you focus on what is being built and what is being constructed, especially in terms of furthering humanity and what is building what is serving humanity, it can be much easier to become optimistic about our future endeavors. So I hope you hear my tone of optimism coming through throughout the episode and always in general really, and always in general really.

Speaker 1:

So, in chronological order, we begin the year with Mars retrograde. Mars started retrograde from December 6th and will be retrograde until February 23rd, which means January, february. Continue to take care of yourself, hydrate, listen to the body, especially like whatever the body needs, be sure to nourish that. So the year has a slow start to it and because of that, the first week or two of January I was doing a little bit of hibernating myself, which I tend to do most winters anyway. But especially with the Mars retrograde, the year has a slow start to it. So also don't put so much pressure on yourself to have a fast start to the year. So also don't put so much pressure on yourself to have a fast start to the year.

Speaker 1:

On January 11th, the lunar nodes shifted from the axis of Libra and Aries to the axis of Pisces and Virgo, which also means that 2025's eclipses will shift into Pisces and Virgo. So the nodes shift every 18 months and I'm excited for this because the north node has been in Aries and the south node has been in Libra for 18 months. I have a Libra ascendant, my Libra moon and my Libra Mars. A south node has been going through all of that, so it's been an incredible 18 months of release, letting go and a big theme of addition by subtraction. So, to explain what the nodes are all about, these are the two points in space where the moon's orbit intersects, the ecliptic, which is the path that the sun traces in the sky. From the perspective of us earthlings, the north and south nodes are exactly opposite each other. Always when a new or full moon occurs near one of them, an eclipse happens, the lights we live by the sun and the moon go dark, so these points are considered danger zones by the ancients.

Speaker 1:

On January 11th 2025, the north node, which represents gain, hunger and opportunity, enters Pisces, the sign of dreams, imagination and escape. At the same time, the south node, a point of surrender, loss and decrease, enters Virgo, the sign of discernment and critical thinking it means over the next 18 months are magnetizing us toward faith and idealism, sometimes at the expense of careful judgment. So I think we could see a lot of spiritual awakenings over the next 18 months. We're looking for purpose and meaning and looking to be part of something greater than ourselves, whether that could be part of a community or some kind of collective mission. We'll all be sort of seeking inklings to God or some kind of higher power as well. The South Node in Virgo is about letting go of being overcritical and not having the best self-talk. These energies will be highlighted during the eclipses, which this year happen on March 13th, march 29th and then in September, september 7th and September 21st. So eclipse season is kind of the craziest two weeks out of every six month period. So this year it's in March and September, and actually March and April are looking like the craziest months of 2025, which we'll get into in just a bit.

Speaker 1:

I want to briefly touch on Pluto and Aquarius, because I'm recording this in mid-January and we're a few days away from Aquarius season, which means that the Sun will conjoin Pluto and Aquarius for the first time since Pluto has been in Aquarius. This will provide a lot of context into what Pluto and Aquarius will be like over the next couple decades, until 2044. Pluto and Aquarius is about three things Power to the people, technology-driven abundance and authentic creative expression. There's some really interesting themes happening around all of these, especially with creative, authentic expression. There's the whole thing about TikTok getting banned in the US and the whole thing with free speech and censorship and things like that. Now, what's also really interesting is the day that the sun is conjoining Pluto is January 20th inauguration day of Donald Trump. A lot of questions remain, but we'll get a lot of context as to what the next couple decades will look like in terms of power to the people, technology-driven abundance and authentic creative expression around the last week of January and this week of inauguration.

Speaker 1:

Next, we have the Venus retrograde happening from March 1st to April 12th of 2025. Venus goes retrograde every 18 months, so this isn't something that happens every year. Venus represents love, connection, relationships, beauty and appearance. There's an element to Venus that also has to do with our values. For that reason, venus can represent wealth and money, and so when a planet goes retrograde, it's a time for introspection and rethinking a lot of those values. So during this time, we're going to be rethinking our relationships, so you'll have some people that might be reaching out to their ex around this time, but in general, because Venus signifies love and connection, its retrogrades prompt a probing of our closest bonds. They are times when the unions that nourish our self, as well as our spirit, feel even more valuable, while the connections that drain our energy undergo re-evaluation. Also, what's really cool about Venus's orbit is that it's such a perfect circle that Venus goes retrograde in the same exact spot every eight years.

Speaker 1:

So to get a clue about what this could be like for you, think back on March and April of 2017, and that might give you some insight. If you look in the sky at night right now, you'll see Venus is the brightest body in the sky, except for the moon. So Venus is an evening star and when it goes retrograde, it goes on this underworld journey and then, after it's retrograde, it is reborn as a morning star. Another key part of a Venus retrograde, as it pertains to relationship, is that we'll all be rethinking the most important relationship that we have in our life, which is the relationship we have with ourself. I think the South Node of Virgo will help us to let go of some of the hypercritical or like being a little too rough on yourself, and we'll be able to rethink our relationship with ourself, which will help us to become our own greatest cheerleader, our own best ally. So you got this Love yourself.

Speaker 1:

This Venus retrograde is happening in Aries and Pisces, which is where all the energy is at in March and April. What's crazy is that this also coincides with a Mercury retrograde in the same part of the sky. When Venus and Mercury go into Pisces, they will conjoin the North Node, neptune and Saturn, as well, as there's an eclipse mixed in there in March. So plenty of fireworks that I'll continue to explain as we get to Neptune and Saturn going into Aries. But yeah, last thing I want to say about the Venus retrograde is that because it also coincides with a Mercury retrograde as well as eclipse season, it's all the more important that we build sturdy containers for our emotions, avoid getting lost in a sea of feeling and reinforce our boundaries wherever we can.

Speaker 1:

And then, on March 30th 2025, neptune goes into the sign of Aries and its themes of idealism and fantasy get applied to the realms of competition, conflict and entrepreneurialism, which means there's big potential for wars waged over ideals. In fact, the last time Neptune transited Aries was from 1861 to 1875, a period that coincided with the American Civil War, the abolition of slavery in the US, as well as the founding of the International Red Cross, an organization devoted to delivering humanitarian aid which is a theme associated with Neptune to people endangered by war, a theme associated with Ares. In general, neptune is the planet of imagination, dreams, fantasy, but the shadow side has to do with deception and illusion, and it's been in Pisces since 2011, which saw the rise of social media, and so there is a lot of themes around there that we haven't known what's real. It's like what's real and what's not real. So I do like Neptune going into Aries, especially when Saturn goes into Aries and they come together, bringing a lot of clarity and enlightenment to the collective. We're going to start to see a lot of people wake up and break out of the matrix, which, to go along the theme of power of the people, is all to our benefit. A lot of people's eyes will be open and then it'll be like, oh, this is what's been going on this whole time, and things will start to make more sense.

Speaker 1:

The last time Neptune was in Aries, we also saw the publication of Crime and Punishment, as well as Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. These are vivid examples of what Neptune, the planet that presides over the imagination, can manifest in Aries, the sign associated with conflict. So, in terms of war of ideals, there are two sides to every coin. Now, in addition to war, aries is associated with competition and trailblazing. A positive spin on this is the first luxury ocean liner was launched in 1870, making it possible for tourism to reach remote stretches of the world. Making it possible for tourism to reach remote stretches of the world. Now, during this next round, we could see more like space tourism. And yeah, I mean we're already starting to see the trend of trying to colonize the moon and Mars. So we kind of see how this outer space imperialism could play out.

Speaker 1:

So, no matter how you look at it, neptune changing signs represents a collective shift in our values, especially regarding how much we center inspiration, empathy and compassion in the day-to-day. Now Neptune can induce martyr complexes. So, if it arises, question your urge to self-sacrifice and explore ways to help others without putting your own well-being at risk. And that's why take care of yourself is such a big mantra of mine, because the more you take care of yourself, it's actually a multiplier effect in terms of how many people you can help and how effectively you can help them. Now, neptune is also the most spiritual sign in terms of like, representing imagination and the great beyond and our spiritual inclinations.

Speaker 1:

Neptune and Aries may help us tap into our spirituality in deeper ways as well. Aries is the biggest action taker there is. It can be impulsive in a weakness kind of way, or like the weakness of Aries is being impulsive, but Aries is an action taker. So I kind of like this blend of the masculine energy of taking action and the spirituality, that feminine energy of Neptune. And with this energy on top of the North Node going into Pisces, it looks like a big theme of 2025 is the spiritual inclinations, and a big way to have success in 2025 is honestly just to be a little delulu. I mean, I'm a big money guy, so like I teach people to become millionaires.

Speaker 1:

But if you have like a belief that oh, I can never be a millionaire, like that's a story you're telling yourself with the south node and virgo, we're letting go the how, you don't need to know the details, but can you have faith that you'll be a millionaire one day If you don't think you'll be a millionaire. You're kind of just stopping yourself. I teach people to become millionaires. I know anyone can do it. You can do it. You can become a millionaire. So believe in yourself. You don't need to know the how. The how will reveal itself over time, but have faith, and that applies to any dream. Have faith in your vision and just put one foot in front of the other. Be a little Delulu and you can make your dreams come true.

Speaker 1:

There's this interesting dichotomy with war and what's going on in the world, but it's also at the same time with the hard times we're in. If you die at some point, don't you want to die? Going for what you want, like your big dreams. Not saying you're going to die or anything like that, but it is kind of the time to go for your dreams, like go for it, you got this. And the last thing I want to say with Neptune is that this is actually only a preview. So between March 30th and October 22nd of 2025, neptune will be in Aries, but then it's going to retrograde back into Pisces and then it will go into Aries for 14 years in 2026. Saturn is also going to go into Aries on May 24th and it'll be in Aries until September 1st 2025, then it retrogrades back into Pisces, then it retrogrades back into Pisces and then it will go back into Aries more firmly in 2026 for three years. And so also key to note that Neptune and Saturn don't conjoin exactly. They come within one degree of each other. So those themes of enlightenment and people waking up and breaking out of the matrix, that'll be very strong this year, but it'll be even stronger in 2026 when Neptune and Saturn come exactly at the same spot in the sky. From May 24th to September 1st of 2025, saturn will be in Aries, and so Saturn was known by the ancients as the greater malefic.

Speaker 1:

Saturn has a way of exposing our personal limits as well as anything that's externally limiting. Saturn is the planet of responsibilities and restrictions and limitations. It's associated with feelings of melancholy and isolation, but it's also the planet that helps us create structure. It reinforces our boundaries, our commitments and accountability to ourselves as well as others. While Neptune merges, saturn constructs the separations between things. While Neptune disintegrates barriers, saturn builds or rebuilds them. It's interesting because these two planets could not be more different from each other. They're total opposites. But what's interesting is that together, these two planets embody the classic principle of alchemy Dissolve and bind together. The classic principle of alchemy dissolve and bind together. So these different yet connected drives to merge and separate will form a core undercurrent of 2025. So, in addition to Saturn being the planet of restriction, saturn also rules over time, one of the greatest restrictions that we have, and so Saturn is known as the planet of longevity and patience.

Speaker 1:

Aries, however, is quite the opposite. Its pace is fast and furious. This cardinal fire sign loves the freedom to act impulsively and pay no heed to the aftermath. Saturn is all about consequences. So, because of these conflicting energies, this planet is considered to be in its fall in this sign, which means it cannot easily express itself here. It also means that Aries is Saturn's least favorite sign to be in, but as the source of all retentive power, it could also slow down some of the Aries themes, which we'll explore in just a bit.

Speaker 1:

First, let's look at what it means for Saturn to be in its fall. So in Aries, saturn can struggle to access its gifts of discipline, responsibility and playing the long game. People who embody this combination can be ruthlessly hard on themselves or others, and also fixating on winning at all costs. The lesson that this pairing teaches us is that life is not a competition to be won, and the gift it offers us is grit, along with the ability to hone our skills to elite levels. Think about how we can explore our talents in a way that supports our communities, instead of fixating on high performance and optimization as ends in themselves. And so, with the whole Pluto and Aquarius vibes that we're feeling this year, community and coming together in a power of the people kind of way is a big part of what 2025 and the next couple decades is all about. And so, if you think about honing your skills and bettering yourself, it's important to have a strong why and behind that, because that'll lead to much greater success in that.

Speaker 1:

And so the easier way to think about that is communities. Like who are you doing this for? Why are you doing this? What communities do you want to support? What communities do you want to be a part of? How can you give value to those communities? So it's kind of like who do you want to be in service of? That's a good way to get what you want in life.

Speaker 1:

First, help someone else get what you want. So, if you're looking for love and support, honestly just give love and support to others, and then the law of reciprocity comes in and people want to be there for you as well and give you back that love and support. We just kind of have karma work, so it's not always directly from the same person, but the more you be a good human and support other people, the more that karma comes back around to you, and life is not a competition to be won Like. We're all in such unique life paths that comparing yourself to others is such a losing game, and I think there's been an element of that with social media in the past.

Speaker 1:

You see some quick, small percentage snapshot of what someone's life looks like and you desire to be more like them or more of what they have. There's probably a lot of sides to someone's life that you don't see. If you don't want someone's darkness, it's pointless to also want their positive sides of their life, because, yeah, you can't have one without the other. So there's a lot to 2025. That's about finding your way, finding your path and realizing that the answers are inside you, and they have been all along. If anything else, aries is fiercely independent, so tapping into that is always a good way to go about things. And so last thing I wanted to mention about Saturn and Aries is that, as the source of all retentive power, saturn can also bring slowdowns to any sign it occupies, and this could yield a stagnation of Aries themes like competition and conflict, but I think that'll be a welcome balance with the fogginess of Neptune that'll also be in the sign.

Speaker 1:

So, while some of the Saturn and Aries themes will bring up scarcity mindset themes, our next transit is Jupiter and Cancer, and that will help us tap into an abundance mindset, collectively and individually. So mark June 9th 2025 on your calendar, because that is when Jupiter goes into Cancer and it will be there for a full year until June 29th of 2026. So Jupiter takes 12 years to grow out on the entire entire zodiac, and so it changes signs every year and it stays in a sign for a full year, and jupiter is kind of a good shit. Planet like jupiter is the planet of abundance, faith, wisdom, prosperity, luck. It's a very good shit planet, and so when jupiter is in your sign, it's kind of like your year in a way, and so Jupiter has been in Gemini since May of 2024. Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini, so Gemini rules over information and communication, and Jupiter is all about abundance and expansion. We've kind of been drowning in all the information, so that'll also be cool to get out of that and go into Cancer, where Jupiter is exalted.

Speaker 1:

So Jupiter, its favorite sign to be in, is in Cancer. Cancer is Jupiter's favorite sign to be in, and Cancer is a natural caregiver, this cardinal water sign. In some ways, I look at it as like the mother of the zodiac, and so when Jupiter, the greater benefic, moves into this cardinal water sign, it brings unconditional care and compassion to all our efforts to reparent ourselves, as well, as it makes it a lot easier to seek opportunities to nurture and heal and then bask in the abundance that follows. In Cancer, jupiter acts as a nurturing caregiver and mentor, and so in some ways, it'll be like an antidote to the two fiery transits of Neptune and Saturn in Aries. So to get an idea of what this could look like, let's look at the last time Jupiter was in Cancer, which was in 2013.

Speaker 1:

During this time, the US Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, legally granting same-sex couples the constitutional right to marry a major milestone for LGBTQ rights. So cancer presides over family and the home. So it's no surprise that the planet of growth when it's in cancer led to a legal expansion of how we define those ideas of what family looks like. So I think the next chapter of Jupiter and Cancer could similarly expand our concept of home or re-establish protections for reproductive rights, which is another one of Cancer's domains. So if you live in the US, you might be under the impression that reproductive rights are under threat and they are, but the power is shifting to the people. Like among the people, the right to an abortion and reproductive rights is very popular. If the people want it, we will have it, and so, with Jupiter in Cancer, all labors of care are supported, and especially if we're talking about your inner child.

Speaker 1:

If you experience hurt or neglect as a child, jupiter and Cancer is here to soothe that part of you, which includes your efforts to reparent yourself as well as your work to nurture others. When we view other people as competitors for scarce resources, which we will be getting with Saturn and Aries, our compassion could wither away. But when our needs are properly met and we're able to trust that there's enough to go around, we're more likely to emphasize with others and wish them well. So, again, this is another theme of taking care of yourself. When you nurture what needs to be nurtured for yourself. You don't look for those things externally and then you don't make things like that a competition in the external reality, and you know that also just helps you to realize the power within yourself. Another way I look at take care of yourself is invest in yourself and especially with the Venus retrograde in March and April, we're all going to be investing in our relationships with ourself and rethinking those themes. So then, from June onward, jupiter and Cancer makes this abundance mindset much more accessible for all of us. So that'll be lovely.

Speaker 1:

To finish off this thought, if you lead with generosity from June 9th 2025 to June 29th 2026, and reflect on what you want to heal, protect or create, jupiter in Cancer will affirm your intentions and bring ease and luck to your goals. This transit brings the fertilizer and the rainwater, but you have to sow the seeds. There's another really interesting dynamic with cancer going on in 2025, because we begin the year with Mars in cancer retrograde. So Mars is going to be in cancer for January, february, march and April. Cancer is Mars's least favorite sign to be in, so that's challenging. But then, come June, Jupiter comes in and Cancer is Jupiter's favorite sign to be in and cleans that up. So for the first half of the year, I want you to understand the preciousness of the struggle and understand that the short-term pain is setting the foundation for long-term gain. And so the last major planetary transit to talk about is Uranus going into Gemini. This will happen from July 7th to November 7th of 2025. And then Uranus will go retrograde back into Taurus and then, more firmly, enter Gemini in 2026. So there's also just a bit of a preview period. So I actually have a lot to say about Uranus and Gemini, so I'll probably make a standalone episode just about that one in the future.

Speaker 1:

Uranus is the planet of innovation, disruption, breakthrough. It's kind of the most chaotic planet. Innovation, disruption, breakthrough it's kind of the most chaotic planet, but it brings innovation and breakthrough and things that make humanity better. Overall, at least usually. Uranus in Gemini is disruptive, turbulent, wily. It's a distracted genius who accidentally invented the microwave oven after standing too close to a radar set. It's curiosity as a catalyst for change, but also chaos. So Gemini is the sign that's most curious as well as the most adaptive sign. From this period beginning in 2025 to 2033, geminis will be the harbingers of chaos, and so, since I'm a Gemini, I'm quite excited for that to unveil my inner mad scientist.

Speaker 1:

So Gemini rules over communication as well as short distance travel. There is a lot to talk about with the airline industry under this transit, because the airline industry is so cutthroat. There's like no innovation that happens there. I think this will be cool for that, maybe we could see the first zero emission aircrafts be created. In terms of communications, yeah, in the past, uranus and Gemini saw the first recording of sound, which was previously thought to be impossible. The first recording of sound, which was previously thought to be impossible. So, in terms of the 21st century, maybe we could see something like augmented reality launched online, so something about how we communicate with technology and social media, holograms or something like that. Anything's on tap, so we'll see what happens.

Speaker 1:

So the bigger thing with Uranus and Gemini. So the bigger thing with uranus and gemini uranus goes around the zodiac in about 84 years, and so I associate uranus's 80-year cycle with the cycle of hard times. Make strong men strong men, make good times, good times. Make weak men and weak men make hard times. That's also an eight-year cycle, and so we find ourselves in hard times currently, and Uranus in Gemini. The last time Uranus was in Gemini was during World War II. The time before that was during the Civil War and before that was the American Revolutionary War.

Speaker 1:

The US's natal chart has Uranus in its birth chart. So Uranus coming to Gemini means the Uranus return of the United States, which always means hard time for the United States in particular. So there's going to be a lot of themes around that and there is a lot of tie-ins to money and the financial system when it comes to Uranus and Gemini, gemini being communication. There is a part of communication that rules over values and how we communicate value. So after World War II we enacted the Bretton Woods system, which made the US dollar the global reserve currency, and the United States has been the global superpower ever since then. So I think all of those themes and the US dollar being the global reserve currency is up for debate and a lot of themes around that On a collective as well as personal level.

Speaker 1:

The point of Uranus's cycle, especially in the moment we find ourselves in hard times, is that there is a preciousness to the struggle. Hard times make strong men, and so the pain and suffering is kind of the foundation of what strength is so, while Neptune and Aries promise a slow tidal shift that steadily build over more than a decade, uranus brings change much more suddenly, almost like shaking up a snow globe. So, although the details depend on how Uranus and Gemini interacts with your birth chart, the scramble is inevitable and in 2025, from July to November, we're going to get a preview of what all this shakeup is going to look like from now until 2033. But it's all in the name of helping you live the life that's most aligned with your growth. So lean into the change, because it's all helping us to be better versions of ourselves and live in a better society and do better for the collective and uplift humanity as a whole, because none of us are free until we all are, and so that's all the big chances for the year are free until we all are, and so that's all the big transits for the year. So fun year. You might already be starting to be feeling all of these shifts, so you can tell there is more change packed into 2025 than there has been in most years, astrologically speaking. But the astrology is certainly reflecting the world and the world reflects the astrology. Let it reveal new parts of you and who you're meant to be. Let 2025 expose the ways that you can love more passionately, change more honestly and strip away the burdens that you no longer wish to carry with you. Let it set you on the path that is the most delightful for you and the path that is most closely aligned with your talents and your soul's unique purpose, and the path that brings you closer to serving the world in only the way that you can. So let's have some fun.

Speaker 1:

This year, 2025, is going to be a big year, so having big goals is kind of on theme. Along that theme, I also have big goals this year. I'll do plenty of stuff, go to plenty of places, have plenty of memories, meet plenty of people. So it'll be a ton of fun. Along those lines, I finally have my online school community up and running. I'll put a link in the show notes. I made this community for anyone who wants to work towards financial freedom.

Speaker 1:

Learn about investing investing in yourself where, also investing your money, getting your money to make money for you while you sleep. Now, being an investor is literally the coolest, because being an investor is like seeing any problem in the world and thinking I could probably solve that problem if I invest enough time, resources and energy. And, as the Money Nomad, my mission is to end the cost of living crisis in the way that I know how, and my online school community is the next step in fulfilling that lifelong mission, so I'm plenty excited for that. As always, I love and appreciate every single one of you. Thanks for listening, sending you so many 2025 blessings. All the love in the world. Take care of yourself, invest in yourself, be the change you want to see in the world and bye for now.
