Step onto the LACUE 2025 floor in New Orleans with us and feel the shift from hype to help. We sit down with educator and board member Tisha Whittington to unpack what actually lightens the load for teachers under pressure: clear standards alignment, reliable practice, and tools that let you teach instead of triage. The buzz around AI is real, but the big win is clarity—using tech and tightly mapped content to cut noise, focus instruction, and lift LEAP scores without burning out your team.

Welcome to Spotlight for Success by American Book Company. I am Devin Pintoza, your host. What's up, Tisha? Tisha is joining us again. She was here last year at Luke uh Lacue 2024, and here we are, LACU 2025, uh once again in New Orleans, Louisiana. And here we are, special guest, Tisha Whittington, uh, back by Popular Demand. Uh she is here, uh she is now on the board uh with LACU, and we are so uh privileged to have her with us today. Thank you for joining us.
SPEAKER_00:Thank you, and thank you so much for your support here at LACU and making this possible.
SPEAKER_02:Oh yes, thank you. And and uh she is uh at Jefferson uh Davis Parish. And uh love to know what are uh all of the new things that are happening here at LACU 2025.
SPEAKER_00:So in LACU 2025, of course, you have like the AI takeover and uh a lot of clarity going on, helps, supports a lot of overworked and time management and stressors. Uh so that is one thing, but let me roll it to ABC books because uh I know the social studies area is something that y'all are uh getting geared up to help with world geography, right? That's right. So it's gonna be like such a blessing. Um we use ABC when I was in my teaching career, we did. We use it right now in our district, but tell me about what's coming with the world geography.
SPEAKER_02:Ha ha, yes. So we have grades three through high school, three through civics. Uh we also have U.S. history, which is going to be updated next year. We have world history, uh, which is now available, and world geography will be out in about two weeks.
SPEAKER_01:Thank you for watching Spotlight for Success. I am Devin Pentosi, the Chief Operating Officer of American Book Company. We are located here in our headquarters in Woodstock, Georgia. All of our materials are printed in the USA. We have horse books ebooks and online testing in grades. These materials are all designed to help you design higher scores under stage assessment. We guarantee score improvement. You can get free samples of our materials either in print or in electronic formats at abc12.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
SPEAKER_00:Please give that to us quickly. Oh, yes. Please, please, please, please.
SPEAKER_02:We're gonna put Tisha, Tisha Whittington at Jefferson Davis, is going to be first on the list to receive her copy of the World Geography Book.
SPEAKER_00:We need it. We do. We really do right there. Supplemental information, and it's not just fluff. What I can say is this is directly tied to the standards. It's gonna help our students with the leap test. Um, it's good for tutoring information if you have a substitute or even supplemental information for uh whatever level the student is on to get that growth to mastery level.
SPEAKER_02:That's awesome, and you've seen a lot of growth, uh score increases. I have wonderful.
SPEAKER_00:Definitely. Our school became an ACE school uh last year and the year before, and we definitely use ABC books in our leap testing subjects. Awesome. So thank you.
SPEAKER_02:So great. Uh thank you. That's wonderful to hear. Uh, can you tell me a bit about uh what's going on for next year with LACU 2026?
SPEAKER_00:We're calling Baton Rouge, baby. We can't wait. A lot of cool things planned. Um, it's a different event center. We love New Orleans, uh, but we want to meet the community in the state, and everybody share a little bit of the travel and the time. So there's a lot of cool things planned. We have definitely been working on that.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, it's so awesome.
SPEAKER_00:Are you coming?
SPEAKER_02:Oh, of course. Okay, we want to be right here again. Again, we'd love it. Love to get another island. We love, we love LACU. Uh, we love all of the people here, and uh really appreciate the opportunity to be with all of you in the audience with LACU. Uh, very appreciative for the time we get to spend here.
SPEAKER_00:Well, we appreciate you and you, the side the side hustle man who does all the behind the scenes work.
SPEAKER_02:That's right, absolutely our producer and Lorenzo.
SPEAKER_00:You are so talented.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, you are. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00:All right, so like group hug, get in, Lorenzo, quit working for a second. Look at this. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02:Thank you, appreciate it.
