Stress can significantly impair fertility in both men and women by disrupting hormonal balance and reproductive processes. In women, chronic stress elevates cortisol levels, which can suppress ovulation, alter menstrual cycles, and reduce egg quality, making conception more challenging. In men, stress may lower testosterone levels, decrease sperm count, and impair sperm motility, hindering successful fertilization. Additionally, stress can exacerbate lifestyle factors such as poor sleep and unhealthy coping mechanisms, further compounding fertility issues.
