"The Arbiters" Author Brook Lenker on the Sunbury Press Books Show

Brook Lenker recalls his boyhood years in Central Pennsylvania for "The Arbiters," his second novel and debut on the Milford House imprint.

Set in the 1970s, Reily Watters and his gang of teenage compadres prefer their time outdoors to being in school or sports practice. Their favorite spot is the near-sacred Mannequin Creek, where years of hiking and fishing are coupled with growing up and the discoveries of youth.

When a dam project threatens to wipe the watershed out, they fight back in their own fashion and battle a bumbling developer to save what's important.

Brook Lenker is a lifelong outdoorsman, explorer, and conservationist. Currently the President of the
Keystone Trails Association, in Mechanicsburg, Lenker is a graduate of Towson University with a degree in Geography. His protagonist Reily Watters first appeared in his 2019 novel, "The Restorers." He lives in South Central Pennsylvania.
