I See ParcelPedia Also Offers Uhaul Services, How Does That Work?

Moving doesn't have to be a headache! Discover how ParcelPedia is transforming the U-Haul rental experience in Frisco, Texas with their customer-centric approach to truck rentals and moving supplies.

In this engaging conversation, ParcelPedia owner James Banks reveals everything you need to know about their U-Haul services. From their typical inventory of trucks (ranging from 9-foot to 15-foot covered vehicles) to their comprehensive selection of moving supplies like boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and furniture pads, ParcelPedia offers a complete solution for your moving needs right in the heart of Frisco.

James shares valuable insider tips that can save you time and money. Learn why they prioritize covered trucks (hint: North Texas rain!), how their automatic mileage discount program works to maximize your savings, and why you should never give up on finding a last-minute rental even during peak moving seasons. The refreshingly friendly approach to late returns stands out in an industry often known for rigid policies – as James puts it, "We're not trying to nickel and dime you. We're just trying to help you out."

Owner of Parcelpedia.

Speaker 2:

Need to move across town or across the state. Parcelpedia makes U-Haul rentals quick and convenient, just like our shipping services. Welcome back everyone. I'm Sophia Ayiveth, co-host slash producer, back in the studio with owner of Parcelpedia, James Banks. James, how's it going today?

Speaker 3:

Hey Sofia, I'm doing well. How are you?

Speaker 2:

I'm also doing well, James, and that's wonderful to hear. So let us know. We see Parcelpedia also offers U-Haul services. How does that work?

Speaker 3:

Yes, we do. It's a newer service of ours but it works just like any other U-Haul that you may walk into or call into. We get you booked into a truck of your choice that we have to offer, including some supplies you may need, and we can help you with your trip. So if you've ever been familiar with a U-Haul rental, again it's the same exact process. With a U-Haul rental again it's the same exact process. We just basically give you a nice, convenient local area to pick up your truck.

Speaker 2:

If you don't want to drive too far to get a vehicle pickup. Now I have quite a few questions for you today, james, on that subject. What U-Haul truck sizes do you typically have available?

Speaker 3:

So typically I always have three sizes smallest at nine feet, largest at 15 feet and then in between those I'll typically have available. So typically I always have three sizes smallest at nine feet, largest at 15 feet and then in between those we have like a 10 foot cover truck or an eight foot pickup truck. But I try to keep the bigger covered vehicles because we do get kind of sporadic rain here in North Texas, but so you can always get like a minimum a nine foot and the max about 15 foot vehicle for me.

Speaker 2:

Now can I drop off a U-Haul at your location if I picked it up somewhere else.

Speaker 3:

So not typically. So I am considered an in-town only location, which would mean all the vehicles that leave my area come back to my area. However, in the past and in the future, I do plan on accepting one ways for sellers that are coming to a U-Haul that's local to me, but they are currently closed. So basically it's just a real short time hold time for the vehicle, so I can't do that. But if you're supposed to drop it off in Dallas, I can't. I can't take it here.

Speaker 3:

It has to be somewhere local in Frisco, then I can take it for you.

Speaker 2:

Understood Now. What kind of moving supplies do you carry in store?

Speaker 3:

Understood. Now, what kind of moving supplies do you carry in store? So in store we have our moving boxes, our brown cardboard boxes, we have ceiling tape, we have packing peanuts, bubble wrap we offer for the actual trips itself. We offer dollies to use, like to haul your appliances or furniture, things of that nature, as well as furniture moving pads so to protect your more finer things like your hardwoods and things of that nature. I just didn't bring my glasses.

Speaker 2:

Now. Can I reserve U-Haul through Parcelpedia's website, or do I need to come in store?

Speaker 3:

No, so currently we don't have anything on the website. They keep everything on uhaulcom just to make it easy. That way there's not a bunch of different outlets feeding into the same database. What you do is just go.

Speaker 2:

Now do you offer discounts on the U-Haul services?

Speaker 3:

So we don't offer any additional discounts on top of what U-Haul already offers. But we are in a program with them that offers the automatic discount of however many miles you use. It automatically puts into the highest discount rate for that mile set. So we did ask for that for our customers. So if you use more miles than you expected you get actually a discounted rate on those extra miles.

Speaker 2:

Wow, that's really amazing. And how far in advance should I book a U-Haul, especially during busy seasons?

Speaker 3:

Busy season. Yeah, I mean you want to book pretty well in advance People. I've seen bookings two, three months in advance. That you know can be extreme for some people. For others that's exactly what they need Always call, though. Day-to-day people drop off or move or plans change. So just because someone's there on the schedule doesn't mean it's always going to be there. You know, ironclad, sometimes people move or have to cancel. So it's always good to call. You can call daily, I don't mind, I can always check for you and get you on schedule. That way, if it pops open and it's available, we can get you in right there and there.

Speaker 2:

You solidify your spot and you know you have a truck available for you. So, james, what do our listeners need to know about last minute changes when it comes to U-Haul services, if you have any last minute changes, just call us.

Speaker 3:

We'll work with you. If it's something that we can help you with and get done, then we'll do it. It's not even a question, we'll just make sure it happens. If it's something where you're returning the vehicle and you're realizing I am not going to beat this Frisco traffic and get back on time, call us. We can extend it, we can do something to where you don't get hit with any kind of fees, because we're not trying to nickel and dime you. We're just trying to help you out. Get you something that you need for the day or the weekend a big, large truck to move your things, and if you run a little bit late, that's okay. You bring the truck to us. We understand we can help you out. Just call us, keep in contact with us and we'll make it work for you.

Speaker 2:

Any final words for our listeners here on U-Haul services.

Speaker 3:

Again, you know, if you've ever done it before, you know how it works. We're just like that. There's nothing different, other than we may smile more than the other guys. I don't know, but if you've never done it before, I hope you feel comfortable asking as many questions as you need, or feel free come by in person, it's fine and we can show you the vehicles, just. However, whatever makes you comfortable, we'll try to accommodate and make sure that the trip is is good and you have a great experience with it well.

Speaker 2:

Thank you so much for those helpful insights today. James, catch you in the next episode and have a wonderful rest of your day all All right, sophia.

Speaker 3:

Thank you, you too.
