How ParcelPedia Transforms Small Business Visibility Without Breaking the Bank

James Banks Episode 37

What Are The Different Types Of Marketing Tools ParcelPedia Offers For Business Owners?

Marketing magic doesn't require deep pockets—just smart strategy and the right partner. Owner James Banks reveals how ParcelPedia transforms small business visibility through accessible, effective marketing tools that connect with customers and drive real engagement.

The foundation of any solid marketing plan starts with quality print materials. From traditional business cards and brochures to eye-catching vehicle magnets, window displays, and custom banners, these tangible touchpoints create countless opportunities for brand recognition. But James emphasizes that true marketing success comes from strategic deployment of these resources. For instance, using Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) leverages the established USPS infrastructure to target specific neighborhoods cost-effectively, creating awareness that amplifies all your subsequent marketing efforts.

What sets ParcelPedia apart is their understanding that different businesses require different marketing approaches. A hands-on service business might benefit more from physical samples than digital campaigns. A community-focused enterprise might need presence at local events with QR-coded materials that bridge the physical-digital divide. The podcast reveals how Parcelpedia adapts to each client's specific industry needs, even creating custom solutions for unconventional marketing ideas. Most importantly, James stresses that visibility alone isn't enough—successful marketing must drive engagement through strategic elements like discount codes, calls to action, and trackable responses.

Perhaps the most valuable takeaway is ParcelPedia's comprehensive approach to marketing continuity. By maintaining records of all your previous marketing materials and campaigns, they help you identify what works, repeat successful strategies, and build lasting relationships with repeat customers. As James puts it, "If the service is good, the people will come"—but first, you need the right marketing tools to get their attention.

Marketing doesn't have to be expensive, it just needs to be smart. James dives into the powerful, accessible tools Parcelpedia offers to help business owners cut through the noise, find their niche and grow with confidence. Welcome back everyone. I'm Sophia Yvette, co-host and producer. Back in the studio today with owner of Parcelpedia, james Banks. James, how are you today?

Speaker 3:

Hey Sophia, I'm doing well. How are you?

Speaker 2:

I'm also doing well Now, james. Today we're shifting gears from packages to promotion. Let's talk marketing magic that every local business owner should know. What are the different types of marketing tools? Parcelpedia offers for business owners and tell us about guerrilla marketing, industry specific marketing and marketing 101 for businesses.

Speaker 3:

OK, sure thing. Yeah, that's definitely a lot of information. Try to get on that and cover that for you. 100% Parcelpedia. We're here to help businesses and one of those ways, like you said, is marketing. Obviously, with us being a mailing, printing and shipping shop, one of those first things that come to mind is through the print materials that we have to offer. So I'll just kind of ramble off a list, but it's not everything. We have a lot more, but if I said them all I'd probably run out of airtime, so I'm just going to go through a few things.

Speaker 3:

We do offer flyers. We have brochures, business cards, posters, backdrops, banners, door knockers, just so everyone knows those are things they put on the doorknob. Don't see those too often anymore, but those are still around. We have the postcards, window stickers, you know, for your storefronts. We do window stickers for vehicles, as well as automobile magnets that you see on the side of cars and trucks for small businesses. Really, a whole, a whole host of things like much more than that, but that's some of the more common things. You see. We do acrylic, different materials like gator foam, vicious. It's a lot. It's a very long list. So typically, if it's something that you need to do. We can help you with it. That's obviously one of the first ways we can help people with marketing is just getting your name out there, spreading your name for people to see, but it's not the only way. So we have spoken before on this podcast previously about EDDM, which is, of course, every Door Direct Mailing. That is something that is huge in the marketing world because you are reaching so many people on the I won't say the back, but using the infrastructure of the United States Postal Service, which we know has been established and around for a very long time. So it's great. You hit doors that you know you need to hit in certain zip codes that you know you need to hit and with that you open people's eyes and you let them, you introduce them to your company and so all your other. Now your other marketing strategies will now come to fold and work even better because people are looking out for you now.

Speaker 3:

So some of the ways that you can use these marketing materials are very beneficial. If you're going to, like, say, a community event and you have your van there posted up, parked by your table, having that big magnetic sticker on your van with your company, your information, a QR code to your website. I mean all those things are so helpful because you may have people that you're engaging with at the time. You can't talk to everybody at once, but you have something that people can engage with quickly and can see your brand. I mean it just helps you, you know, increase those numbers of people coming across your company. So it's not all about just shooting stuff to people, it's about visibility. It's huge. So that's why, you know, we offer so many different printed materials because, whatever the occasion may be, if you need key chains, if you need hugs, t-shirts, hats, we can provide those for you. That way it fits your specific industry and that was, I know, one of the things you mentioned. She was industry specific marketing. So that is huge too.

Speaker 3:

If you are in the industry where your main thing is a face-to-face work or you work with your hands, you're probably not too worried about sending someone to a website, right? You want them to see your work. You want them to see and feel and be able to see yourself. So part of that may be mailing out samples. You know where people can see what you do, what you create, what you make, or be able to feel if it's like a painting or if it's a sculpture, something of that nature. You want to be able to engage with customers on the level that you would want to work with them on. You know that makes sense to your company. So we love to keep an open mind. If you come up with something that you may have never heard of anyone doing or haven't had anyone be able to help you with, we may look into doing that and maybe something we create, maybe a new type of thing that we can help you with, something we've never done before, because we're just looking for ways to help businesses. So the marketing is such an open book as far as how to reach people. I hate to define it or box it into anything, because it really can be anything.

Speaker 3:

I know you mentioned guerrilla marketing earlier, which is just, you know, a big broad, sometimes a big spectacle that comes out of nowhere. You know you show up to a trade fair thinking you're there for just pens, pencils, binders, stationery, and it turns out you come to a table and they tell you oh yeah, everything here was 3D printed. You're like what Blown away? And now you know about 3D printing gets you into another field, another industry, and it's just one of those ways where you can present your company in a way that's almost two ways in one, so you're providing the service that they need and also a new way to present that service that they've never, never done before. Another way you said was marketing one-on-one. I mean, those are like the basics.

Speaker 3:

You know, reach as many people as you can for as low cost as you can. But also you know you're not reaching people just to reach them. You're reaching them so that you get engagement. That's why I always recommend a QR code, a discount code, something on those materials so that you get engagement. Because it's great.

Speaker 3:

People know what you do and know who you are and have your phone number, but if they don't do anything with it, it doesn't help your business. So, engaging, getting people to engage, maybe giving them the freebie, that's always great. Those are some of the small tips. I'm here at Parsipede. I don't want to become some small business guru. I don't want people to feel that way, but definitely from the experience and from past companies that have come and had a great success, I can definitely tell you those are small things that help and I am a firm believer if you get in front of someone and are able to show them what you can do. You know what you have to offer. If the service is good, the people will come. You know the people will keep using you.

Speaker 2:

Most definitely. Any final words for us today, James, on how to market your business better with Parcelpedia.

Speaker 3:

You know, learn to customer, see what works. One of the things that's great about us is if you do anything with us, we have that record. So you say, you know what? I have this flyer that I printed to you guys. It was like a year ago. Can you look that up for me? Pull it up in the file? Yeah, I saw that you want to do that again. Sure, yeah, that that one gave me the most, you know, feedback, no problem, hey, I shipped out to this guy I can't remember his name. It was sometime we pull it up, boom, got the record. There it is.

Speaker 3:

We just take that burden off, you know, and it's able to, where you can re-engage with customers that you know were happy in the past, and you can re-engage with them, which is great. And repeat customers is always great because you come, got your usual. Hey, you know, I'm mailing to my guy, that's all I have to say. And we know who it is. We have it ready to go, label on and just speeds up everything. So it's great. I mean we, we love to help customers start and grow their small businesses in any way we can, so it's always cool to see them grow too.

Speaker 2:

Wow, james, those tips today were definitely packed with purpose and seriously practical. Thanks for breaking it down for us. Until next time, keep delivering those solutions at Parcelpedia. Have a great day.

Speaker 3:

Thank you, thank you, you too.
