Mobile Notary: Convenience at Your Door

James Banks Episode 41

What Are the Ins and Outs of Mobile Notary Services at ParcelPedia?

Ever found yourself needing a document notarized but unable to break away from work, stuck at home without transportation, or even confined to a hospital bed? ParcelPedia's mobile notary service might be the solution you never knew you needed.

James Banks, owner of ParcelPedia in Frisco, Texas, pulls back the curtain on one of their most valuable yet underutilized services. Available Monday through Friday from 12-4pm, their mobile notary brings all the necessary supplies directly to your location—whether that's your office, home, or hospital room. With just 24 hours' notice, their professional notaries can accommodate most scheduling needs throughout the Frisco area.

The service has proven particularly valuable for medical situations where patients are physically unable to travel, professionals whose packed schedules don't allow for errands, and individuals with transportation limitations. As James explains, "If you feel like, 'I can't find a notary right now, I can't get to the store,' don't feel that way. Give us a call and we may be able to help you get it all knocked out without you having to worry about finding a ride."

Pricing remains straightforward with the standard $10 Texas notary fee plus a variable travel fee based on your distance from their Preston Road location. The entire process typically takes just 5-10 minutes, with the same security and privacy standards you'd expect from an in-store notarization. All documents remain in your possession throughout the process, with notaries verifying your identity and certifying your signatures on the spot.

Need an item notarized but can't make it to the store. Parcelpedia's mobile notary service brings certified convenience right to your doorstep. Today, james shares how it works, who it helps and why it's a game changer for busy professionals. Welcome back everyone. I'm Sophia Yvette, co-host and producer, back in the studio today with owner of Parcelpedia, james Banks. James, how are you today?

Speaker 3:

Hey Sophia, I'm doing well today. How are you?

Speaker 2:

I'm also doing well and it's great to have you back on Now today. I know we're discussing one of Parcelpedia's most underrated services Mobile Notary the ultimate time saver, james, can you shed some light on the ins and outs of Mobile Notary services at Parcelpedia?

Speaker 3:

Definitely, as it sounds, mobile notary is getting a notary service, but mobile to you. What we like to do is let people know that we do offer mobile notary services. We offer them set time during the day. I do want to get that out of the way, just so everyone knows. It's between 12 and 4 pm in the day, monday through Friday, and we don't offer on Saturdays, unfortunately. But we're working on that. But right now it is Monday through Friday, 12 to 4 pm.

Speaker 3:

All we do ask is that you do call in to set up the appointment because obviously we have to travel to you so we have to incorporate that time to make sure that we can fit the schedule. But the way it works is just like any notary service. So you just call you, let us know when you need the service. We try to stay away from same day. If you're close enough where we can make it happen, we will definitely try. But we normally ask for just a 24-hour window. So just let us know the day before and we'll come out to you at the appointed time. We'll bring all the notary supplies, including pin, the pad, everything to sign on. So all you need is just your person, your identification, like any typical notary and a form of payment. We can do a payment over the phone, so we can do it when we get back to the store. We don't necessarily need to take cash from you or anything like that. We can always handle that with you at the point in time. But it's very simple you let us know where you are when you need us. One of our notaries will come to you, provide the notary service just like any notary, whether it's done here or anywhere else, and then you'll be all set. You'll have your documents notarized and in hand that same day, and it's very quick. Notary services typically take only about five to 10 minutes process, all depending on what you're getting done. And the notary fees itself is no different from in-house because the notary fees will be consistent. At the $10 Texas state fee, there is a mobile fee that would be based upon your distance. If you ride down the street, obviously it'd be a little bit better than if you're pushing city borders and that not. So we definitely like to try to accommodate all parties if we can. That's why we just asked for that hour, that 24 hour window of notice, just so we can schedule and accommodate you. I don't think in my history here we've ever had to turn away a mobile notary. We've always been able to make it happen. So I'm pretty confident that we can do that for you.

Speaker 3:

But just one of those things that if you can leave the office, if you're at the hospital, I've had to do one of those. If you are doing it for maybe a family member, a member who is handicapped, it's harder for them to get around. This transportation is not so easy. That's another reason why I will do it. It's very convenient. So definitely if you're trying to save time. If you don't have transportation, you may not drive. You don't have a vehicle at your disposal. It's a huge. It's something that just takes off a lot of weight because it's something that normally would take you a lot of work and effort to get done.

Speaker 3:

A lot of times, a lot of these banks unfortunately, they don't do notary anymore. They typically only do it for you if you're a what do you call it a member of their bank, and B if it's a document that they actually provided themselves, and also a lot of other stores that offer notaries. They only have notaries available during certain hours In-house. We're notaries available at all times If our doors are open, a notary is available, and then, of course, in just a little bit shorter hours, 12 to four we do have that mobile service which, again, if you call ahead, we can figure out a schedule we can maybe be able to as an aid to you. If you feel like, oh, I can get this all done, but I can't find a notary right now, I can't get to the store, I have to wait another day. Don't feel that way. Feel that you can get it done. Just give us a call and we may be able to help you and get it all knocked out without you having to worry about finding a ride, getting an Uber, anything like that.

Speaker 2:

Wow, wow, james, that's a really great information. Another question for you, and I'm sure a lot of listeners want to know this too what kinds of documents do customers typically request for mobile notarization?

Speaker 3:

From my experience, a lot of the mobile notaries revolve around medical documents and it's typically because the individual signing is maybe bedridden or maybe they're in the hospital and they're facing some really serious medical situations and they're knowing that they need to get some paperwork handled pretty quickly. But they don't have the means to just get up and find a notary or they may not even be allowed, they may not be discharged from the hospital, they may be really stuck where they're at. So a lot of times medical documents fall under the need for mobile notary and sometimes it's just a matter of scheduling. Some people are like they're a one car family. One person has a car, the other one doesn't, but they need to get these documents done and it's just a way to get it done without having to wait for another day to transpire. If it's a Friday, it's now wait for the weekend, things of that nature.

Speaker 3:

Normally they are higher priority items, I would say. I would say one of the lowest priority items I've notarized here in the store was for a field trip for an elementary school. So I typically don't do those as far as a high priority mobile basis. But it can be anything. It's not to say it's limited. So if you have something that's real simple just a letter you're signing stating a statement of fact, or stating that you've been paying rent somewhere, blah, blah, blah we can do that too. So don't feel like it has to be something super high priority or it has to fall under a certain guideline. If it's a document that you need to be notarized and you have all your things in place, like your ID and your paperwork, we can help you.

Speaker 2:

How do you ensure privacy and security during mobile notarizations?

Speaker 3:

So the main thing with a mobile notary is that we are meeting you where you prefer. If you're asking for a mobile notary, we're sure that you're comfortable with us meeting you, whether it be at your home, whether it be at a hospital, whether it be at your place of work. We, of course, we run that by you and, as far as privacy, everything that's done is just between you and the notary, so the paperwork is going to be your own paperwork. It's just something that the notary signed. They're not taking anything with them. They're not taking a copy of your ID, nothing like that. It's just a typical notary service that you would do in office, where your ID is shown to the notary to prove you are who you are. The documents are signed but given back to you. So everything you keep is nothing that you really need to worry about privacy leaking or anything of that matter, because these are your documents that just simply get stamped and certified so that they can be used for your purposes.
