Curbside Services: ParcelPedia Can Run Your Deliveries Too
What About Deliveries?
Deadlines don’t wait for car seats, Texas heat, or a broken-down sedan at the mercantile. We dig into how curbside service and local deliveries turn shipping from a hassle into a quick win, letting you pull up, signal the team, and roll out with packages handled and mailbox contents in hand. James breaks down the small operational moves—like pre-staging orders when a customer calls from the “famous red light”—that save minutes when they matter most and keep late fees and missed cutoffs at bay.
We walk through the origin story: a commitment to accessibility that started with disabled customers and grew into a service many families now rely on. That means designated spots near the door, staff who meet you at your car, and a standing promise that if we’re open, curbside is on. For deliveries and pickups, we share how we handle tracking, time stamps, and photos for proof—plus signature-required options when needed—so you get the same peace of mind you expect from major carriers, without the runaround. We also talk real life in Frisco: the parents juggling buckles and naps, the solo entrepreneurs hustling between calls, and the folks who simply can’t afford to lose an hour to a ten-second task.
Then we look ahead to ParcelPedia Mobile, our next step toward true on-demand logistics. Picture a trained driver arriving with boxes, tape, a scale, and live rate tools. You show the item, pick a service, get a label, and it ships—no commute, no lobby line, no sweat. It’s a practical solution for work-from-home schedules, caregivers, and small business owners who need decisions at the door. Along the way, we share why customers keep calling these services lifesavers: not because they’re flashy, but because they turn intention into action with fewer steps and more certainty.
If convenience, accessibility, and reliable tracking can make your week smoother, this one’s for you. Subscribe for more behind-the-counter insights, share with a friend who needs faster shipping wins, and leave a review to tell us which feature you want next.

And now, delivering expert tips and insider insights with a smile. Here's your host, James Banks, owner of Parcelpedia.
SPEAKER_01:Think Parcelpedia's just a shipping store? Think again. James Banks reveals how they go the extra mile. Literally. Welcome back, everyone. I'm Sophia Yvette, co-host and producer, back in the studio today with owner of Parcelpedia, James Banks. James, how have you been today?
SPEAKER_02:Hey, Sophia, I've been doing very well. How about you?
SPEAKER_01:I've also been doing well and glad to be back with you today, James. Now let's talk about Parcelpedia's curbside services and how you run deliveries too.
SPEAKER_02:Oh yeah, for sure. I'd love to talk about that. Yeah, so I've the sounds curbside service. You can pull to Parcelpedia, you can give us a call, you can call ahead of time, and if we see you can flash your lights, I mean whatever you need to do to get a hold of us. And we'll come out to you. So it's something we'd like to do. Obviously, it helps a lot with any of our like handicapped customers, anyone that's just, you know, may have children or like babies in the car, they're sleeping, pets in the car. Just something where it's just it's a hassle, right? To get out, especially when it's something easy, like I'm just dropping a box off, or you know, I just need to check my mail. We're more than happy to run out to you and and bring it to you. Just it seems so simple and sounds like, yeah, what's the big deal? It really just helps a lot. I mean, it really helps so many people for so many different reasons. Some of the ones I named. So if you are ever, you know, I guess weighing your options like, am I gonna do this errand today? Like, oh man, I got the kids with me, I got this, I'm I'm gonna have to save it for tomorrow. Don't miss a deadline, you know. Don't don't be late, don't get in trouble at work because you you push something fast today. We're here to help. You know, you can call us ahead of time. We have plenty of customers that call you, like, hey, I'm at that red light. And you know, it's like the famous red light, which means it's about we got a two to three minute window before they get there. And so we have everything ready for them. They pull up, and as soon as they pull up, their packages and their mail are right there, they just get loaded up, and then they're gone, you know. So we love to have that ability to help. If I could put a drive-thru in here, I would, and you know, I I don't have that ability just yet, but um, we're trying to make things just streamline for everyone. We know the world is always in that, you know, gotta go, gotta go pace. A lot of people are working multiple jobs these days, right? A lot of people have their own kind of projects, own companies on their side. And so when you're handling so many things and you're a parent or you know, you're a spouse and you're trying to run around and get things done. We get, you know, it sounds so first world problem-ish, like, oh, I have to get out of my car, but it's the thing, right? I mean, if you have kids, if you have a sleeping baby, if you have a pet, no one wants to have to get out of the car, undo the car seat, get them out, bring them inside, literally spend 10 seconds doing what you got to do, and then go spend another five minutes redoing all the stuff you just did. You know, it's just a it's a pain. The Texas heat gets crazy. I I'm in a bucket of sweat every time I get my kids in and out of the car, in the car seat, no matter what. So I know exactly how that pain goes. So it's just something we love to offer. It doesn't matter what time of the day, literally any time, if we're open, we will offer that service. So obviously, it it definitely started with uh customers we have that were handicapped. Obviously, with them getting out, we have handicapped spots in the parking lot, but not not enough, in my opinion. And they're a little bit further away from our store than I would like. So this was our way to kind of counteract that. It's like, hey, you know, if you were to park there, it's still a hassle because you now you gotta come somehow get all the way down to us. So it's like instead park right here in our designated spot and we'll come straight to you and you don't have to move a muscle. So it's really a service that's all in the spirit of just giving back and helping and just trying to be that that extra piece of the puzzle, you know, just that thing that's like, hey, you know, I actually can get this done because I can swing this by and I don't have to get out of the car. I'll I'll call the parcelpedia guys and they'll just come to my car for me. And and we have no problem doing that. We'd love to do it and love to help. So if there's anything else, I don't know, Sophie, maybe some other things you can think of, some reasons why someone would like a curbside. I mean, you name it, I think we could probably handle that too. I was just spitballing a few things I know we've done in the past, but I don't know. You have any questions? You maybe our viewers would like like different ideas.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I definitely do. What areas or neighborhoods do you currently serve?
SPEAKER_02:Um, so definitely we serve mainly Frisco. So mainly Frisco, definitely like the North Frisco area. When we do actually like pickups to your home address, that's the only thing we have to like make sure we have enough people here to cover the store, right? But if you're coming to us or if you're in a nearby area, some people have been not even in our parking lot. They're like, hey, I'm over by the mercantile and you know my car broke down, but I really need to get this package out. And I'm like, okay, I'll be right there, don't worry. You know, and so I hate to put like a limit on what where or who we can help, but for just general sake, definitely like the greater fiscal areas where we typically help out.
SPEAKER_01:So is this service available year-round or is it just during peak seasons?
SPEAKER_02:No, year round, anytime. Anytime.
SPEAKER_01:How do you ensure security and proper handling during these deliveries?
SPEAKER_02:So just like tracking, basically, right? So we have a record of when it's left, and we have a record of when it's been delivered. And then that there's always the checkpoints. If it's a longer trip, checkpoints in between. If it's somewhere very close to Frisco, it's mainly just left, you know, at this time of the package, package was delivered at this time. It's recorded, pictures taken, similar to if you're like an Amazon delivery, FedEx delivery. Um, obviously, we're trying to give it to you face to face, but if you're not home and we're aware you're not home, we will leave it and we'll let you know it's been left off or dropped off. So, very similar to how most people are used to getting things and you know delivered to them, very same thing. If you request, you know, I don't want this delivered unless I'm home, you know, make sure someone's somewhere to sign for it, we'll do that same thing. So again, we try to make it as accommodating to the customer on a customer by customer basis. But again, it's it's pretty much following the standard of what most people see if they're getting like an overnight shipment or a secured shipment. We you know, we don't leave it if it's doesn't want to be left, um, but we don't hold it if you want if you need it there. So just trying to accommodate.
SPEAKER_01:Now, what kind of feedback have you received from customers using these services?
SPEAKER_02:They love it. They love it. They're like, Man, you gotta do everything, you know? Like, man, this really saved me. This when we do the curb side and when we do the delivery, those are two things where you hear the line, you guys are lifesavers, like more than any other time. You hear that one all the time. Because it's it really, you know, it's like, man, I think the customer when they get the package or when they get the service, it just kind of really rings true for them. What all like headache they kind of avoided, you know, all the steps they could had to take that they didn't have to take. So I think it just kind of brings it forward for them and and they're very appreciative of that. So definitely love hearing that, and and you know, definitely inspires us to keep keep it going and pushing forward.
SPEAKER_01:Most definitely, final question for you today, James What is the future of Parcelpedia like concerning curbside services?
SPEAKER_02:Future. So I have an idea, and it's an idea that's in progress, not very fleshed out yet, but definitely doable, and that is gonna be a mobile shipping service. So almost similar to pickups and similar deliveries, but in the sense where a driver comes to you, and on not necessarily on site, but on their person, they have the necessary items, their tape, their boxes, the scale, and they can give you pricing right there, right? So you have a package, you know it needs to be shipped out, but you you're stuck in meetings all day, you're working from home, I can't get out. Well, Parcelpedia Mobile comes to you, boom, boom, weighs it, lets you know your rates, your options. Okay, I'll pick that one, boom, and it gets shipped out for you. Hey, that's you know, that's to the next level. So keep on the lookout on the horizon for that. Uh Parcelpedia Mobile coming soon to the door near you.
SPEAKER_01:Well, James, thank you so much for showing us how Parcelpedia keeps convenience front and center. We'll see you next time.
