Kellie Coff, writing as Lellie Lopter, is an international award-winning children’s author, illustrator, and creator who isn’t afraid to write about big feelings and tricky topics.

Her stories encourage children to think big, to feel deep, and to laugh out loud.

She champions children’s literacy through her free little libraries project, the Author Pen Pals program, the PLCC Author Backpack project, and the Incognito Art Show.

In this episode of Not the Plot Kellie offers an insight into how she works,  the influence her childhood has had on her creative life, the key role research plays in the projects she chooses to work on, and why she writes the stories she does. She also shares with host Teena Raffa-Mulligan the best advice she ever received and why she chose her distinctive pen name.
