Good afternoon, Bluffs Country. I'm Peggy Sweet and this is Belonging in the Bluffs, brought to you by the Iowa West Foundation. I'm joined in studio once again with my good friend Isabel. She's the communications manager at the Union Pacific Museum. Welcome, Isabel. Thank you for having me. Absolutely. Uh this is a busy time for you. It is railroad days. It's moved, so I'm just gonna let you talk and you tell me. Yeah, so Railroad Days is this weekend, May 9th and 10th, from noon to 6, both days. So that's Saturday and Sunday. It's gonna start right after the parade on Saturday. So after everybody gets done celebrating C B, they can come on over and celebrate Railroad Days with us. Yeah, I I'm in seeing the parade with our own Chuck Denver. We'll just walk over there and check it out right from there. You've got things going on inside the museum, like we're getting a new exhibit. So it's opening that Saturday. It is a brand new case that's gonna be showcasing the Louisiana Purchase Proclamation. Sweet. Yes, yeah. The original document? The original document. Yeah. And we have some other artifacts going in the case too to kind of amplify that document and share more context about it. But it's gonna be really, really cool. Is that something we get to keep here in Council Bluffs or is it a traveling exhibit? So it's on loan. So uh private donors loaned it out to us for the summer and it'll be in Council Bluffs until July. That's awesome. All right, so you need to get out and see it now because that's it seems like a long time, but it'll be It'll be go by so fast. Yeah. Again, you can see the original Louisiana Purchase document. I can't believe that. That's so exciting. That's really exciting. Okay, what else do you have going on? We're also gonna have some um community sponsors show up. Um we're gonna have the Lewis and Clark Landing. We'll come and share about Lewis and Clark and their journey and how the Louisiana Purchase kind of influenced that and let it happen. And then we're also gonna have a really cool Lego train that a gentleman builds that's really neat and he builds a new one every year. So we're really excited to have him back again. How big is that train? Uh it's decently big. Yeah. Yeah, it's really impressive. When you see it, you're like, can't believe that it's Legos. Right. Yeah, Legos are pretty cool. Yeah, it's really cool. Um, and then we'll also have Bluebird Cultural Initiative coming out to share about um Native Americans and indigenous peoples. And that's all happening on Saturday. And Sunday. So it happened both Sunday. Oh, awesome. So that is Railroad Days, noon to six. Now Saturdays and Sundays, the 9th and 10th of May. It's moved. So if you normally went to it before, later in the year. Yep. It used to be in September, now it's in May. Okay. So you want to catch that. And do you have anything else going on? We'll also have trolleys that day. Um, tickets are available at gorailroaddays.com. And also we'll have kids' activities, crafts. There's something for everybody. So even if uh your little one might not care about the Louisiana Purchase Proclamation, they'll still have a ton of fun getting to explore the museum and participate in everything else. That sounds great. And where can we get the trolley tickets again? GoRailroaddays.com. Awesome. Isabel, thank you so much. I look forward to seeing you uh for Railroad Days, May 9th and 10th.
