Good afternoon, Bluffs Country. I'm Peggy Sweet, and this is Belonging in the Bluffs, brought to you by the Iowa West Foundation. I'm joined in studio once again with Kogan. She is the community engagement coordinator for the American Midwest Ballet. Welcome, Kogan. Thank you so much for having us. Absolutely. It's great to have you back. And you have a fantastic event coming up. It's Ballet at the Riverfront. Tell me about it. What's going to happen?
SPEAKER_01So we're very excited to be partnering up with Ballet Des Moines. This will be a free community event at the Riverfront starting at 5 p.m. And American Midwest Ballet is really excited about this. So we're going to be starting at 5 p.m. And there are a lot of free community events by our wonderful community partners like the Omaha Performing Arts, Omaha Children's Museum, and more. This is going to be an all-ages event. And at 5:30, we are going to be doing a free dance class. And you can just show up. You don't have to wear anything specific or have any dance training. And then at 6:30, we will be doing our free ballet performance. And that will be a performance by American Midwest Ballet and Ballet Des Boine.
SPEAKER_00And this is not something we need to sign up for. We just show up, right? Absolutely. And you can bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit in. And just have an all-around great night. Who doesn't love to dance?
SPEAKER_01And we believe that dance is for everyone. So whether you want to sit back and watch some free ballet or you want to stand up with us and try, this is going to be a really great event for everyone of all ages.
SPEAKER_00And it's down by the riverfront. Even better. Beautiful.
SPEAKER_01What a great way to start off summer.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Okay. If we want to get information on anything that you and I have just talked about, we can go amballet.org. That is your website. You're on Facebook, you're on Instagram, all of the things. And again, this ballet performance class, all the things is happening when again?
SPEAKER_01It's going to be Thursday, and the events start at 5 p.m. And then we'll have our free class and a lot of free activities involving those amazing community partners. And then our performance will start at 6:30.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's going to be a great time, Cogan. Uh, seating will be on the lawn, so you're encouraged to bring blankets or a beach towel or a lawn chair. And join us for a beautiful evening out and some great dance. Bring the kids and your friends and just enjoy a great summer evening. Kogan, thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it. Uh, well, I'm sure you'll be back real soon talking about what you guys have going on for summer.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. And our summer program pretty much starts the week right after. So if you have any interest in any summertime dance classes, go ahead and visit us at amballet.org.
SPEAKER_00Again, that is amballet.org. Kogan, thanks so much for your time. I really appreciate it. I'll see you real soon. Thank you. This has been Belonging in the Bluffs, brought to you by the Iowa West Foundation.
