What are you doing in the waiting? That's the important part. What is God doing in you? What is he preparing you for?
Speaker 2:Welcome everyone. My name is Cheryl and you are listening to Healing Strong's Around the Word. We are friends sitting around the table who love the Lord and love digging deep into his word. So each day on the podcast you'll hear me reading a passage from the Bible and then we'll chat about what we're learning from it. I'll be reading Genesis 40, verse 23, psalm 27, 14, and Isaiah 49, verse 15, from the NIV version of the Bible. So join us Around the Word.
Speaker 2:We have three verses for today. Here's the first one Genesis 40, 23. The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph. He forgot him Now. Psalm 27, 14. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. And finally, isaiah 49, 15. Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has born? Though she may forget, I will not forget you. That was our Bible reading for today. So now let's listen in on what Susie, angie, maren and myself were discussing around the word. Wow, this is such a short passage, maren. You just got to read that one verse.
Speaker 1:Pharaoh's wine taster, however, promptly forgot all about Joseph never giving him a thought that hurts.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean Joseph takes one blow after another and he just helped this guy out. Yeah, he had just helped him out. And he told him by the way, don't forget me. Yeah, remember me. And yet he didn't. I don't know, have y'all ever felt forgotten?
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, you know, but I mean that just goes to show you again that you just can't rely on other people. His value is not put in the cupbearer.
Speaker 2:But we put the emphasis on the cupbearer, like the get out of jail free card on Monopoly. That's my key to getting out of this and for him it was that cupbearer in his mind. In reality it was actually God and his timing. But so many times when we're waiting on God for that heart's desire or something, we have a thing if I just have that baby, then I'll get out of the jail of barrenness. Or if I just get healed I will get out, or whatever.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you just want to hear no evidence of disease, but don't let that hold you back. You know what? What are you doing in the waiting? That's the important part. What is God doing in you? What is he preparing you for?
Speaker 2:Wow, that is such a good question. What is God preparing you for while you're waiting? That's something all of us need to think about while you're waiting.
