Welcome back to the Costa Property Podcast. Now, today is a very special episode because today we are celebrating our 100 episode of the podcast. Today We're going to talk about what we've learned from the podcast across our hundred episode and what's actually next for the Costa Property podcast. A podcast that started out initially to support you with one goal of owning your property on the Costa Del Sol. So I'm excited to jump into this episode warner right? Yeah, we're really excited. I'm actually overwhelmed. I can't believe a hundred episodes. I know. It's amazing. Well, that about two years ago you came to me and you said, I think we should do the podcast. Who knew two years down the line, we would be through a hundred episodes. I know. And given so much content, so amazing guests and so much information, and helped so many people find their dream home in the sun Exactly that. I think you've summed that up perfectly. It started out really as a hobby. Because we were noticing patterns and trends in terms of the conversations that we were having with clients over and over again. They were coming overwhelmed, starting out, really not knowing who to trust, seeing incorrect information online, and really just drowning in information overload. And we wanted to support people to feel calmer as they embarked on their property search. That was the why behind the podcast. So it started out with a goal to bring information to you so that you could be calmer about your property search. And you know, it's been a labor of love we've thoroughly enjoyed doing it two years on celebrating two years off the podcast and a hundred episodes, and you know, it's been a lot of late nights, recording on weekends, structuring around the business and around our life. I've absolutely no regrets. It's been one of the best things that we've done in our business, in my opinion. Yeah. No, and one thing that people need to recognize about a podcast is the sustainability. You know, it's okay bringing in a podcast, and doing a couple episodes, but to get it to a hundred episodes, you know, over two years was challenging. Yeah. But we'd done it because we wanted to give our clients and listeners, all the information that they needed and , the best stories, , from people that have actually went through that. Mm-hmm. And, , I think we've, we've nailed it. Yeah, no, you're absolutely right. It's consistency. Podcasts are amazing and, you know, it's personally how I love to consume information, but I think there's nothing more frustrating when someone starts and then doesn't keep up the consistency and you don't know when the next episodes were coming. So when we started out, we had a commitment to you that the podcast would come. Initially it was bi-weekly, but then when we saw the demand from you and you started telling us what you wanted, we increased the frequency to weekly. And for the last year and a half, the podcast has dropped every Tuesday morning with a new and fresh episode, usually inspired by the questions that you, our clients, those of you listening and watching at home. What you are actually asking us and what you're struggling with, and I find that a real privilege that you feel that you can reach out to us and tell us what you're struggling with, and we use that then as inspiration to turn into an episode and a newsletter for our community of listeners and buyers and sellers. So it's been fantastic to go on this journey with you over the last two years, but we're not stopping here. So we're going to talk in a minute about what's coming next on the Costa Property podcast, but you're going to need to stay tuned until the end to hear that. But Warner you know, we see a real difference in terms of when buyers come to us now compared to two and a half years ago when they come and they've been listening to the podcast and they've been, you know, listening weekly to the content and they've been watching on YouTube and they've been following along in our newsletters, we see that they are a lot more informed and knowledgeable. Than may be somebody who is starting out completely green. Yeah, no, and it's, it is totally correct. Now, like any clients that now contact me, they're either saying, oh, I was painting for two weeks and I listened to all your podcasts. I listened to number 69 and the podcast and it really resonated with me. And, I've had calls from people saying. Oh, is this Warner? And I'm like, yeah. And he is like, I can't believe I'm talking to you, Star struckcause I've listened. So they get to know us and yeah, they, they get to trust us and they get, you know, the information that they need in order to, , go on the next step of the journey. Mm-hmm. That's, that's most important, , to me. Yeah. And also, you know, because we have a hundred episodes, not all the episodes will suit the certain type of client. That's a good point. So they'll come and they'll, they'll say, you know, I'll listen to your episode. 20 and 30 and 40, and it really resonated with me. Mm-hmm. And I'm coming over. Mm-hmm. Whether it be from America or Canada or say they make the time to come over and actually come to the office to actually meet us in person. And that's all they ever wanted for the podcast. To build a client base and give the education that they have a good feeling and they can trust. Yeah., Us as a real estate agent to find their dream property. Yeah. There's a, a lot of wisdom there in what you've said, but I think it's fair to say that everybody that has found us through our podcast and has been an avid listener when they do reach out and they, they know us, right? Because we, we talk openly about our family, about our own journey. We share our clients' stories with you. We share challenges. We share successes. We share it all. So they know us quite well and I, I think they get a good feel for who we are as people and what we're about in terms of our values and our morals. So when people come to us from the podcast and they choose to work with WL Costa Properties and the team here, it's fair to say that they stay with us. So they know us, they trust us. And they're really informed about what we consider as best practices for their property search. So that's amazing. And as you correctly say, not all of the episodes are relevant to everyone., We have a, wide spectrum of episodes. We're catering for eu, non-EU buyers, relocators people that are buying for investment lifestyle, people that need mortgages, people that don't. We talk about moving your pets. We talk about taxes, we talk about your mindset. We've had mindset experts on, we've had grief coaches on talking about moving with, you know, moving on when you had a dream to move with a loved one and that loved one sadly departed this world, and you're continuing to honor their memory by doing, doing that move alone. So we have covered everything. We've had top relocation specialists. We've had healthcare specialists. We've had lawyers. Lawyers, the best in the business covering taxes, wills, currency, everyth, currency, everything, experts., We've brought our trusted partners into this space so that you can get to know what good looks like, what you need to start thinking about. So that you can feel adequately prepared to embark on your search. And we're also so grateful to our guests who have given up their time, energy, and knowledge to come to this space and speak with you and share their wisdom with you so that you can start to think about the things that you need to think about in the correct order. And more recently, we've brought you a lot of our client stories, so we've been incredibly grateful for our clients for being vulnerable, coming on the camera, talking about their own journeys, which, let's be frank, all journeys are not perfect. And we come across challenges and roadblocks that we have to navigate together and support our clients through those challenges. But it's brilliant for you to see some of the people who are just like you, who have made those moves and trusted WLCosta properties to buy and sell their properties, which has been a real privilege. Yeah. Real people, real stories. Yeah. And, I think that's what people want to hear, see the emotion, you know? Mm-hmm. Of the people. And also, where they started from and where they are now, is interesting Absolutely as well. Yeah, absolutely. And, and it's refreshing to know that these people are just the same as you and I and anybody watching at home. Yeah. And they've just had the courage to follow their, their dream. And it's important for you to see that so that you can relate to that too. Of course. So yeah, it's been a, a rollercoaster and we've achieved a lot of milestones with the podcast, which has been incredible, but it hasn't set out like that we haven't set out to achieve those milestones, but obviously you like what we are delivering. We've reached over 25,000 downloads on, audio only across, Spotify, apple Podcasts, which has been incredible. We have also multiple times reached the top five in the Irish charts as well as the top 20 in the UK charts. And we know that our podcast has been downloaded. Across the globe so we have listeners in the us, in Canada, in Australia, in the Nordic countries. So it's been a, it's been a real honor. It's incredible to sit back on a monthly basis with Katie, our podcast manager, and crunch the numbers and see what we've been able to achieve, , in the particular month, and who we've been able to reach and support as they embark on their property search here on the Costa Del Sol Yeah. And also this year to bring the podcast to YouTube. Mm., Now we're, we're hitting over 6,000 subscribers. No, 7,000. Oh, 7,000. It's going up. Seven, half thousand. It's going up every day. Which is amazing. So it means that our content is spreading. You're spreading it to your friends, and while we, me and Sandra are absolutely grateful, but you know, the journey was at the start just to give some education. But now we're building a massive platform, which is helping everybody. Mm-hmm. Um. yeah. Kind of dreams. Absolutely. Because we know a lot of you like to consume this podcast on the morning commute to work or on the drive to school, dreaming about the Mediterranean Sea and your future self living on the costal. But we also know that you want more. You want to see Benalmadena where we live and reside. You wanna see the neighborhoods? See the type of houses that your future self will be living in. And our YouTube channel, our YouTube platform, enables us to bring you that in abundance. So watch that space that launched just last summer. And we're really pleased now to see a growing community on our YouTube channel. And we're not stopping there. The plans are for that. To continue to grow across 2026, and we've no plans to stop our podcast. We wanna keep bringing you more episodes weekly. We wanna keep bringing you episodes that you need and want, that you tell us that you need and we want to keep supporting you. We're here to serve. Yeah. And it's important because, things change quite quickly in Spain as you know, so it is good to, when it does change, that we can jump on Yes. And the studio really quickly. Mm-hmm. And talk about it and talk about,, what that means. Absolutely. And how that impacts you. Because like last year we had a lot of change in the property market. We had a lot of changes. For investors with, , impacts to tourist license rules, there was a lot of rumors around a hundred percent tax from the government. There was a lot of negative press media that Spain didn't want tourists, and we were able to come to you from our studio and provide you the insight from the ground and what was really happening. So that you could make informed decisions and really pay attention to what you needed to pay attention to the truth, not necessarily something or a headline that was being taken outta context by the media. So that's important for us too. We want to bring you the insights from the ground. Yeah, it's, it's so important that you hear it from the horse's mouth. Yeah. You've calling me a horse. No. So a reason, but some questions I suppose. it has been a labor of love for two years. Yeah. We've a hundred episodes. Over 25,000 downloads. Now we're on YouTube, you know, seven and a half thousand subscribers on YouTube. Some of our videos have been viewed over a hundred thousand times, which is absolutely amazing. We know from our statistics that we have listeners and viewers across the globe internationally, and that makes our heart swell with pride. We're so grateful for everybody that has. Listened and continues to listen and for all our guests, but who, you know, this is probably like asking you who's your favorite child, but do you have a favorite guest or have you had a favorite guest on the podcast? Actually, the one that strikes me really matches much as when you were talking about like, people want to hear real stories. And so when I had Lee in and he told about his seller story. Yeah, that's, that was a really good episode. And it, it, I think it gives a frame for what we are trying to do.'cause we are a real estate. Mm-hmm. We do sell property, but it gives the framework that we put in place, not only to sell the property, but to deal with emotions and to also find them another property in between that. Yeah. So I think it really. I've known Lee for a long time and I sold properties for his family and everything else. So it was a really good emotional episodes. And you're emotional now. And we were, we were editing that episode and approving it two weeks ago. It was the latest episode that has dropped before this one. And, Warner had a tear in his eye. And I, I suppose that reminds me of how much this means to us and how much it means to you. Yeah. And you know how grateful we are for everyone that chooses to, to work with us. So you're saying that that episode, was your, was your favorite, or Lee has being your favorite guest That episode. Here you go. Now Lee is the one. Thank you. You're watching. And now I want to turn the, cord round to you. What was your favorite episode? Because you've had amazing guests. Oh God, I have. And. Like, I've loved every conversation with guests, specialist guests or client guests. Everything has been a real privilege'cause by my nature, I'm really curious and I love to learn people's stories.. Oh, there's just been some incredible ones, but I loved when we started to realize that our listeners wanted to hear more from our clients, and so we kicked that off with Lorraine and William's journey. Yeah, so that was a great moment because Lorraine and William were one of your very early clients from back in 2017. Exactly, yeah. Before the business looked as it does today with a beautiful office and bigger team, , and podcasts and YouTube and, you know, thousands of emails subscribers. Yeah. When it was just you as a one man band. Yeah, yeah. Starting out in the wild, wild west of real estate on the Costa Del Sol and they were a wonderful couple from Scotland who initially bought their holiday home here in Benalmadena through you. Yes. And they've remained in our life and, and they did have a dream. They did at that time, in 2017, they were looking for the first step on the ladder because they wanted to retire in Spain. Yeah. And after that. Then I think , last year, they eventually got their non lucrative visa. Yeah. They retired here and their dream happened and they've absolutely embraced life here and that is one of my, probably my favorite guest episode because it was a real honor to have her here to hear that story and really look at the work they've put into making their life here in Spain. Exactly. And following that dream. And it was just a real honor to be part of that journey. So I did really appreciate and love and enjoy that conversation with Lorraine. So that was amazing. Yeah, it was. And do you have a standout episode? So you had a standout guest. What about standout episodes or, I just think about the first episode that we've done in the Costa property podcast. Like we, we are not media people. You know, we're not technical. We are just normal, average drill. We're just real, real people and telling real stories. And selling real estate. Yeah, it's true. So the first episodes, looking back from the first episode to, you know, the episodes that I'd done with Lee, I've just seen how much, we, I've grown. Yeah. As a, a media person, a presenter, presenter, , you know, there was loads, lawyers, you know, investment people. There are just so many, , ones. I just want to thank everyone for bearing with us at the time, but. And what about yourself? Well, you mentioned there our very first episode, and that actually is our most popular episode. It's our episode that has had the very most downloads, which is interesting. And, you know, we we're really honored that people want to hear our story because it's not , the start of the journey. It's not a, a flashy story. It's a story about a young family with a dream packing up their suitcases. Yeah, moving to the Costa Del Sol, and you know, the steps that we've put in place in our life to, to have a, have the life that we have here today. So we're, it's nice. Yeah. That you want to feel part of that and listen to our story. Exactly. Okay, so what have we learned? What have we learned? That there is a massive, clientele interested. in real stories and what's going on in the Costa Del Sol. Mm-hmm. And hungry for more podcasts and more information. Yeah., So that's, that's connection, contact and connections. Yeah. You know, putting names to faces, putting people to roles, real people. Real results. Yeah. Real stories. Especially in this world of, of AI, you know, where we're so overwhelmed with content. Mm-hmm. It becomes harder to identify what's real and what's not. And we're overwhelmed with comparisonitis, in my opinion. So real people, real results, real connection. I agree with you. Yeah. I think we see. A lot of demand for that, and that's potentially why people connect with us and continue to listen. And what's next? Oh. You tell us. Well, you know, I mentioned already we're not stopping a hundred episodes doesn't mean that we have any plans to stop. We will continue to bring you great episode that, that you request and tell us that you need from us, and we will continue to grow our presence on YouTube, bringing you more insights about life.
