I just saw a little mouth Then he was like right here at me and I want to get out of that house I was stuck under the house for 40 minutes With a

 mouse in your face



 And so I can

 do it part-time here No

 I don't know don't take those couple bags off that carries business and

 I get there I start going to get squeeze between galvanized CPC lines everything and I sit there I start going out. I Can't get out can't I was I started having a panic attack and I just sat there I was like, there's no one else skinnier than me here today. This is bad. This is really bad I started freaking out. I started like I got it. I got a call fire department. It's not good Is all I've been told I finally I grabbed one of the old cast iron pops I just bought and I just like I had bruises all on my ribs was how I got out there dude I was it was bad, but

 well now my dad He's told me a story back when he was younger. He actually Busted he was crawling the floor and broke his meniscus When you break your meniscus or I think some meniscus or some kind of tendon in his knee it went straight You know was in a 90-degree angle, mmm So he couldn't crawl he couldn't do nothing. So they had to hot tie rope to him on a truck and pull him out. Oh my gosh Which he's been a big guy all his life too and I am too. So It just I don't know I get I get I get tickled it some days I did these podcasts and I put them on tick-tock stuff like that and they wanna they wanna roast me I mean, they really think they could tell me anything and I don't see in the mirror every morning Yeah,

 you don't care you might talk about it yourself. No



 I'm I'm married. I've got two wonderful children

 They'll have a meltdown and

 Well, I think that's what it is I think we've got a lot of a lot of tradesmen looking at it so they know they can make and do that So that so if you're scrolling through my tick-tocks or scrolling through my Facebook and you see somebody mouthing me Don't say oh poor pitiful Daniel because I'm laughing at it And I probably private message them something that made them feel a lot worse Cuz I've been around this a long time. I can come up with some bad stuff

 thing is we have we've been just been it's been busy busy busy And then I signed I signed contracts on three houses yesterday, you know So we got we got houses from Cedar Town all the way back up to here. See you down. Yeah We've got we're possibly we're possibly up in South Pittsburgh right now. Oh, yeah.

 Well, yeah, I might as well just get a camper and live over there

 for real They put in put in 18 hour days and just go take a snap



 Yeah, because it took it took the roughing crew a week that means it'll take y'all a year.

 Overall expanding Yeah, yeah, yeah, I would say that like this got them. I feel like in the like the six months I've been here. I feel like we've gotten a little bigger more

 work When I started I guess it's it's been longer than that, but I mean we were two crews Mm-hmm. We've got and when you say two crews, it was your crew and a micro. Yeah



 And we got five now six. No. Yeah. Yeah.

 Yeah, we do we do and and then that up and then and We've got two or three crews to do nothing but reference. Mm-hmm So, yeah, we've done a lot of expanding we've been we've been lucky about that and and and and I do I'm I want to expand but I'm about got to the point I mean we're right there where I want to kind of stay I want to be big enough to do the work But I don't want to be so big we forget the people we work for. Mm-hmm, you know, I still want to call in and say hey Channing was here. Seth was here. Daniel. Hey, it's Daniel there. Can I talk to Daniel? You know, I don't I don't I don't want us just to be a revolving You know just who's coming, you know, it's just you know, you don't want to be the thing

 now we can actually load generators properly and we get them on there

 water tank I was talking to Joey. I was talking to Joey yesterday He bought a new transit van to use this year in the year and he's and I said I didn't tell you He said yeah, but you got a lift.

 Yeah, no joke. Yeah, I don't know how many countless water heaters I've you know just lifted in the back and you don't realize how bad it is on your back and then we're just sitting Up a button. Well, I see it.

 I've never had a lift on van to this one It presented itself and yeah, yeah water heaters generators speaking of generators



 Everybody we do we're Generate dealer now did a lot of generators and stuff y'all been putting in Y'all put in a bunch of boring plans get them say it and stuff like that We've seen a lot of turn to generators like that man I think about that, you know, we got a snow coming in here next week. They're calling That's what I'm saying. They're saying it's gonna be pretty good. Snow my getting 20 25

 you know, you know get at us 706 70775 Get you a generator put in Don't know if you'll see this podcast by the snow, but you'll be by the time this podcast gets on the platforms I'm telling you now if it snowed you was out power. We've got a way to keep you in power. Now.

 Yeah Well, we got into it because of the fuel side, you know, yeah, y'all y'all y'all y'all are killing it on LP and natural gas. That's a story. I just come from was taking care of one figured out actually on the City's that city's provider side, you know us I Got a picture right before going podcast I thought here as I was getting on podcast where you had your own manometer on there and it was way

 low I've water home. Yeah, just yeah, I mean We had the furnace and the fireplace running and it was that low. I mean, yeah You

 could tell every time you went to another place in the house cut on water or cut on the stove You would hear that it would drain the like I turned on the the guy that the fireplace Yeah,

 that was that was the water heater coming off. Yeah, that's a hundred ninety thousand BTU water heater. Yeah, that's a probably that's probably probably a



 150,000 BTU or 199,000 BTU fireplace



 So that's four hundred thousand BTU and I bet you that's a 275 meter. Did you let's say what kind of meter was I didn't I bet

 the fireplace at the fireplace. I said like 137 on the BTU's

 Well when they put that in they had



 They had



 One gas water heater Was probably 80,000 BTU Burr And they had the two far places which was very seldom used. So they may have been 100 so they 275 would have done it. So now they're needing a force. They're probably needing a 425.

 Well, they've added the gas stove they added Yeah, see The downstairs logs were not there.

 What did they did you run the gas line for the gas stove? Or was it already run?

 I think he'd already had a gas someone do the gas for it Cuz I don't believe the gas I think the gas was renewed cuz they didn't know they remelt the whole house

 Yeah, I know there was a different there was a different contractor done the remodel of the kitchen specifically Yeah, but I didn't know if they were on the guy I didn't know if it was gas line there before

 or I don't recall it being on on site Like when we were there, I don't recall it being there ever



 Because

 when he mentioned the stove was gas he was like, huh?

 I thought it was electric Yeah, I remember they had in the old The like in the cabinet oven and there's the stovetop and I think it was an electric eye and it used to be

 But anyway, I think he's I think he's I think he's eaten up his BTU's I want to warn and then there's water columns dropping way below where's their man? He needs to be 2710 on that and it's just dropping way down there

 Well, we we didn't test how much it the drawdown went whenever we had the with two vanities on and couple burners on the stove On but did the flames almost died on the entire fireplace? It wasn't that much extra just from a stove and the water heater running and it just I mean you shouldn't have that problem out Of out of running your appliances. It's not a proper fuel. I mean

 So if they're 30 foot sailing

 Yeah, that was a huge house I mean I saw from the house I've been winning it that night I was like man I



 Remember We showed up on site when they were getting ready to just do the slab portion of it Mm-hmm, and just the footprint of it. I was like it's not gonna be that big I Showed up the other night. I only Was it six thousand or seven thousand square feet in total with the garage and everything?

 It's uh



 The house is 4,700 square feet. Yeah garage



 That's mine.

 That garage is like three times bigger than the house I live in so we'll figure

 that out That's two times the size of mine

 Yeah, so in the garage though is about the same size as the house.

 If you turn it sideways Another way but the garage is the garage is huge on that house and it's gone. It's going nice I wish I had a

 true barn to many. I'm like you don't I Mean you see a lot of the bottom there at the single beggar. It's got three bays. It's beautiful house. I mean awesome huge bays it does Fit three RVs in there.

 Yeah, well, I reckon they're gonna play basketball.

 They're Like a half-court in there.

 Yeah, they're both their kids are really into to basketball and everything so



 They're gonna play basketball roadies calling me



 But I don't know like between the generators and the fuel Lines and everything. I mean we talked about it the last time and I'm not gonna beat it at a horse But it's nice to have the efficiency of the press systems like anytime you run gas you Get your holes drilled down front of the house you get your your outlets ready you you get all that started. That's your slow part I mean running your main trunk is normally typically pretty fast. Can you just run it but I mean



 It's really I mean as long as we're not in like a super tight spot It's not bad Like as long as you have your room to work you can run it pretty quick. Yeah, and that's what helps out a lot I mean, I've seen both sides of it done both sides of it and



 Those you got good access it



 There's a time and place for everything but



 If I have you just asked me off the bat, I mean I would say yeah, I don't I don't need the rigid threader I just give me the press you need a gun and Couple tools and in run with it. I mean A lot less prep a whole lot less prep Mm-hmm. I mean that's the thing is



 I mean, I think we did a house it was on cut cutting threads and it was a Grill and a stove. Yeah that would we don't know another in Chicago It was maybe 60 feet of total lime and it took us all day. Yeah.

 Well, you guys did the 300 you guys have 300 up You gotta get the you gotta cut three at every pace and time on you know, you have no gear no show No, I mean the press system works great the longevity of the press system Do I know how long the gas it's going to last? I know what to tell me I don't know that that's what's gonna be true to hold through the fact I feel good about it because everything you know, we've had good good good results out of it So, you know, we don't put we don't put



 We don't put on press fittings where we can't get back to it I mean everything we put in we put it where we can get back and and and shake it again and stuff like that But I guess I guess reason I got gas we got been working on it last couple days I mean y'all talk y'all done.

 Well, I feel like with our job It's like everyone's worried about permanence, but they don't think about like, I don't know what the quote is



 Permanent impermanence is the only permanent thing out there like nothing's gonna last forever Nothing is it doesn't matter if it's pecs It doesn't matter if it's copper, but you can always have the best option right now. That's the best option

 Well, these people will say pecs ain't the best option.

 I mean, yeah, I had a buddy of mine who lives in New Mexico They had a daughter copper. Yeah. Yeah, he he swears by copper. Yeah, he was like y'all doing that pecs crap I'm like, yeah. Yeah, I mean it's it's very versatile and it is this durable like it lasts it's less maintenance

 well, they don't have the



 They they don't have the they don't have the same air out there as we did. Yeah So it don't it don't rock like it does. They don't have the same water that we do up here Yeah, so I'd say the copper out there last probably longer than our copper here, you know We have a lot of hard water. Why it's hard. It's got a lot of it's got a lot of Of abrasive tendencies to it, you know, y'all seen it where we have circular systems with brass ails or something It worked rough it runs to that air it eats that brass aol, you know I mean, it's just

 I mean, it's it's kind of comparing apples and oranges when you do it though because I mean Arizona South and Southern California they can put their house valves and all that right outside They have that manifold out for goes in the house their water heaters have to be up on a pedestal They have to have them earthquake proof like you don't have that



 Everywhere has it's it's there's a ton of place for everything. I mean it's just

 I mean is it we're both to have half bank in code because I think I actually think we're both but I Earthquake strap on the water haters. They just don't enforce it. Yeah You know that that's the thing with the IPC is trying to get all code standard

 Sweat copper versus press copper.

 Oh Lord. That is the biggest Because

 we got on the subject with Ezekiel the other day



 Yeah, we was that because they got everything And we were like why you not press press Well, yeah, maybe he was something expensive. Yeah. Yeah, I think you said it was too expensive So does it open? Does it?

 Are you the person you know what I mean? Well, here's the thing about it if we was doing



 If we was doing Copper houses every day. I probably wouldn't press as much

 Because of the experience

 is means okay. We got the look we have the 50 sweat ales other day for $20 All right, you're not gonna get no no No, but

 if you're running and changing a water heater,

 it's it's it's efficient.

 You're the efficiency



 Outways the cost of the kitchen. Okay, just like the gas line. Mm-hmm those gas those stainless steel Mega press fittings or four or five times what a regular fit me is. Yeah, but you take away the threader The time time it's worth Yeah, but most of the reason the most of the reason people do not press is because they got a press They got a press so they come back and beat your chest is saying I'll have to wait because sweat won't ever blow apart Yeah, they over a blow apart. Well, I've changed to five thousand Sweat that's it's blown apart my life. Yeah, you know everything fails. Yeah

 I mean there's I've seen like the older sweat fins were like it because of the sweat it you get the pinholes in it I mean, it's like right



 It's just like you said the only the only thing that is 100% certain is that nothing's 100% certain, you know You know, I mean it's gone, but it's good. Yeah, is it's pro-press gasket gonna fail. Yeah, we I don't know Is I sweat out gonna fail? Yeah. Yes when I don't know is Press higher doing styles and sweat definitely It's easy sweat if you know what you're doing. It's probably easier to Get the material

 You also don't have to take the valves apart just well with the press is you know you take away the heat element you take away the the the The

 time sitting there Haiti and and and cleaning and

 and you take the way the chance of setting some on fire I mean, I mean I've been online a lot of you also



 Washer boss one time when I was probably 22 3 years old Well, then you've got a flaming torch of fuel.

 Well, you know what that does don't you it's road glue cleaner all over the wall of the new Construction house market. Mmm, so we almost burnt house now. Yeah, we gotta put out but we don't so

 You take that element out of you know, I you know, we're going roper we go in, you know phone Phone a man in there whatever that boy. I can't remember better whatever Phone something. Yeah.

 Yeah. Yeah the big plant But if you take a torch in there and

 you fire our torch you got a two-hour fire watch after you're done

 But I'm pretty sure not and there's some places you have to have heat permits old even



 If you're gonna strike a torch and and either one of those you have to go get a hot work permit Yeah, and then that's what the hot work permit is is you add you're done You've got to have a fire while you take two people to do the sweat You gotta have one watching one sweating and then you've got to have when you're done Both of you guys stay there for two hours and sign off on all work So, you know, it's not only it it it makes it makes a job Even more like less time because it takes out the The fire



 Yeah, that's one reason and I mean you're versatile. I mean we use them for a lot of repairs Yeah,

 which he not the other day we did the you know, the then the vineyard one of their the crap and sweat sinks Yeah, you sweat that and I Don't know if that's the first time he you I think you tell me it's one the first time you've seen someone sweat like in He's like I didn't realize like The prep the I mean once you get now once you get to your flame solder It's not that bad but the prep work and he's like, I mean, I feel like we'd have had this done if it was press Oh, yeah, we probably would have I mean honestly probably would have I mean or you don't have to worry about like if there's water in the lines Taking like a little spray bottle sticking it down and they're getting the excess water you can work on all I was another one out there.

 Drug use and people Overdoing and stuff like that cuz holidays are hard anyway, you know, I'm depressing everybody. Yeah, so,

 Yeah, it was Christmas nice the first year now So well now that we made it the first year now everybody's wanting to start their new projects when I've had 50 people call me wanting to get prices and Start new projects.

 I figured out No, I don't like it



 Some of the companies that do they take off from the Christmas Eve to January 2nd Mm-hmm Kind of smart

 We just don't work that time there guys, we won't be at my Christmas.

 We're off. Well, okay you came in. What are you gonna do?

 What about the one where the water heater was on fell down through the floor

 I mean that was awful. Yeah, I mean, I don't even know how they was going there doing their clothes

 I had a man one time he had no water his safety. See lines were busting all in their house It was throw the housing authority there They were able to get water back not like perfect But for what they allowed us to do work on and he was so happy that he just didn't have to switch as well back On and off and on and off and on and off because it was looking he tried to he tried to give me a $200 tip



 I mean, that's the ones that want to pay. Yeah, he's like, you've done so much like it's fine I'm blessed to have a job that pays my bills and I'm fine Don't you definitely need this, you know, it's fine and like I had to sit there and argue with him for like five minutes And he's like, you know what? That's fine. I'll just shake your hand and that's how he went about it But I was like I was like mad at you didn't take it. No, no, he was fine. I was it was just like Some of these people have nothing. Yeah, they want to give you everything

 And plumbing's not cheap. No, it's not I mean, it's like it's like I mean plumbing is not cheap I mean you go out if your water's off you got four or five leaks it can be thousands of dollars to fix it I mean and and that's one reason that's what I was telling you I don't want to get so big I forget where we come from Mm-hmm because there's cut there's there's companies now that come out no matter what no matter what it's thousands of dollars You know because I've got to charge that for the technician don't make their money I'm asking you all that that video of that big box store where the guy was telling how much his paycheck was and They made all commission. Yeah, that's great Yeah, I mean and probably sold half that stuff.

 He probably sold to him didn't even need to be fixed. He just Rammed it up.

 I've watched the news reports where they go in and look at a water heater and the top of the water heater the just the just the The



 They're all you got a new water heater. They're all really I got a new water heater and they've undone this hose just to catch them Yeah, the kitchen was sleeping but they want to sell them the water here because they're gonna make their commission Yeah, like you know, that's why I don't want to ever go to commission I mean, that's why I hope that I stay fortunate enough to be able to do enough jobs To be able to pay all good wage to where we don't have to go to commission because that's a job position to want to

 Yeah, it's a little job.

 The fair part about my job when we're discussing



 like just Tears of pricing and what they include for customers I'm gonna tell you what I recommend based on what I've seen and what I know For your benefit. Mm-hmm. I want you to realize I don't get paid any more money if you say expensive most expensive middle it doesn't matter but This is your best job,

 but that also gives them the honest ability to look at you say well, what would you do? Yeah, you know cuz but if you're making you know, if you're making 10% The highest you know, well you need to remodel your house. You need to remodel your entire house run out Are you plumbing all night yesterday? We I stopped just look at the lake weeds give you three different options I mean, I truly don't care what the man. Yeah, I mean I Do but I don't and you don't neither but you know, I mean, you know as well as I do run the new waterline It's probably his best bet We can't patch it. Yeah, but and that's just like I went looked at a big one yesterday I told the guy said look I'm gonna price it patching it Okay The leaks for you and I'm gonna price we're running it from the meter all the way back up here and get rid of that Schedule 22 he got scheduled 22 thin wall. Oh for a two-inch water main. Oh Well, it's got rotten brittle. It's starting to but I mean we can patch it for now from three three years from now But he's eventually gonna have to replace it. No, he got the funds to do it right now So I'm gonna give him a couple of options But you know the thing about it is you've got you've got you got situations where you know people can't even afford to Have water we've been to we've been to places where they didn't have water.

 Mm-hmm.

 I mean we're in America You didn't think that places like yet, but they are.

 Yes. Yes.

 There's some of the places we've done like down to Chattanooga and It's bad. Like I died like legal like is that a lot? I'm allowed to let like the apartment play there the renters. Yeah are living that way There should be there Lady her kids are here.

 We've got to have we've got to area in the economy where housing is so expensive for real I mean housing is visit the average house is $1,500 a month rent The average mortgage is $2,300



 You know, I mean that's a lot of money

 to come up with do you know that a quarter of all houses in America are owned by a Investor as a secondary home or a means of profit. I did not know that but that would explain a lot That's probably that's kind of a part of it. But I mean the housing is expensive. I mean it just is what it is That's what I'm saying like the renters and that well Hey

 all this money and this is a bad situation. This happens when the market turned down and everybody lost her house You remember when everybody was you know, how they're there cheap right? Well Investors when bought everything Well now they're written and it's pretty much less like it's like playing Monopoly you learn on my property I can't get to run whatever rent I want. Yeah So, you know, they've got to react going up. I mean



 Thankfully we can we can we can combat that with new bills And then more new bills we do the more affordable housing we build like the ones I've been on ProVasco stuff like that If we can get houses like that bill soul drive the market drive the market back to a normal And that's that's one of the reasons I like building and that's why I like building and selling houses is because it it will push It back now. I mean the houses I built just down the road we sold for But in the 120s 130s the same house is bringing 240 now.

 Yeah, that's what that's what I tell my wife My house probably isn't worth back in the back five years ago. It probably wasn't worth 120 thousand

 There are five houses doubled down the road from where I live brand new builds very nice houses They are three bed two bath 13 hundreds where feet houses



 Almost four hundred thousand dollars a house. Yeah



 Like the house is that's great. That's insane. I mean, they're super nice houses great. I mean, they're beautiful We live in a really good neighborhood. I do I live in a very quiet area. It's very nice, but it's Gone to the point where even there's some stuff in town. I've seen it's Upper 300 thousands and I'm like, yeah, that's just a lot of money for a new

 house We just finished up down the road from the house. I'm doing now.

 Mm-hmm.

 I say it's gonna I say he's gonna list it for 300 Down the road from yours. Yeah, I would think so on the hill Yeah, I would say he's gonna list it for 300 really. Yeah, I mean we'll say yeah, we can look on But we're running out of time right y'all guys come in with I Think I think it goes good when y'all come in, but I will leave people with this You can have the best looking house in the world.

 But if you plumb it sucks You're gonna have to replace everything to replace it.
