Element   one   a   godly   man   has   surrendered   his   life   to   Christ .   Element   two   a   godly   man   is   selfless .   Element   three   a   godly   man   strives   for   holiness .   Element   four   a   godly   man   is   repentant .   And   element   five   a   godly   man   loves   his   wife   as   Christ

            loved   the   church .   Element   six   of   a   godly   man ,   what   we&#39;re   going   to   be   talking   about   today ,   is   a   godly   man   is   sexually   pure .

          Now ,   I   don&#39;t   need   to   tell   you   guys   this ,   but   we   certainly   live   in   the   most   sex-crazed   culture   perhaps   ever .   It   has   to   do   a   lot   with   the   ubiquity   of   pornography .   Again ,   most   of   the   internet   traffic   on   the   planet   is   pornography-based .   Most   of   us   have   been   exposed   to   pornography   at   an   early   age .   That   age   keeps   getting   younger   and   younger   and   younger .   You   can&#39;t   watch   ads   during   the   Super   Bowl   without   one   of   the   subject   matters   being   boobs   or   seeing   scantily   clad   women   or   something   like   that ,   and   it&#39;s   just .   It&#39;s   a   massive   problem   for   us   culturally   and   also   there&#39;s   a   worldly   ethic   of   sex .   Right ,   the   world   would   tell   us   that   sex   is   okay ,   Any   and   all   forms   of   sex ,   with   whomever ,   whenever ,   without   shame   or   consequence .   And   if   you   get   pregnant   we&#39;ll   just   kill   the   baby ,   right .   So   let&#39;s   just   completely

            have   no   attachment   between   each   other .   Let&#39;s   just   kind   of   have   sex   because   for   funsies   or   something   like   that .

          But   even   in   the   Christian   circles   there&#39;s   this   new   thing   that&#39;s   come   up   over   the   last   few   years   about   people   that   have   been   quote   unquote   hurt   by   so-called   purity   culture .   So   those   were   the   kids   back   in   the   nineties   and   two   thousands   that   went   to   the   you   know   true   love   weights   or   worth   their   weight   rally   and   they ,   they   signed   a   pledge   card   saying   they   weren&#39;t   going   to   have   sex   before   marriage   and   they   wore   the   ring .   And   guess   what ?   I   did   the   same   thing .   But   now   you   have   people   that   are   like   oh   my   gosh ,   that   harmed   me   somehow .   It   harmed   me   that   a   group   of   people   was   trying   to   hold   me   accountable   to   a   biblical   ethic   of   sex .   It&#39;s   just   foolish ,   it&#39;s   weak ,   because   here&#39;s   the   reality .   If   your   biblical   ethic   and   actions   don&#39;t   match   with   the   Bible   perfectly ,   then   you   are   wrong ,   not   God ,   not   the   God   that   actually   came   up   with   the   idea   of   sex .   It&#39;s   you   that&#39;s   wrong .   So   what   does   God ,   through   scripture ,   have   to   say   about   sexual   morality   and   purity .

          Let&#39;s   go   to   1   Corinthians ,   chapter   6 .   We&#39;re   going   to   start   in   verse   12   and   go   through   verse   20 .   Here&#39;s   the   apostle   Paul .   All   things   are   lawful   for   me ,   but   not   all   things   are   helpful .   All   things   are   lawful   for   me ,   but   I   will   not   be   dominated   by   anything .   Food   is   meant   for   the   stomach   and   the   stomach   for   food ,   and   God   will   destroy   both   one   and   the   other .

          The   body   is   not   meant   for   sexual   immorality ,   but   for   the   Lord ,   and   the   Lord   for   the   body .   And   God   raised   the   Lord   and   will   also   raise   us   up   by   his   power .   Do   you   not   know   that   your   bodies   are   members   of   Christ ?   Shall   I   then   take   the   members   of   Christ   and   make   them   members   of   a   prostitute ?   Never .   Or   do   you   not   know   that   he   who   is   joined   to   a   prostitute   becomes   one   body   with   her ,   for ,   as   it   is   written ,   the   two   will   become   one   flesh .   But   he   who   is   joined   to   the   Lord   becomes   one   spirit   with   him .

          Flee   from   sexual   immorality .   Every   other   sin   a   person   commits   is   outside   the   body ,   but   the   sexually   immoral   person   sins   against   his   own   body .   Or   do   you   not   know   that   your   body   is   a   temple   of   the   Holy   Spirit   within   you ,   whom   you   have   from   God ?   You   are   not   your   own ,   for   you   were   bought   with   a   price .   So   glorify   God   in   your   body .

          ?   No ,   no ,   oh .   But   my   youth   pastor   growing   up   said   all   sins   are   the   same .   Well ,   he&#39;s   an   idiot .   Maybe   not   an   idiot .   That   was   kind   of   rude .   He&#39;s   wrong .   Okay ,   they&#39;re   not .   Why ?   Not   Literally ?   Because   the   Bible   says   so .   I   just   read   it .   Not   all   sins   are   the   same .

          But   also ,   what   does   Paul   mean   when   he   says   sexual   immorality ?   Okay ,   so   that&#39;s   actually   a   Greek   word ,   pornea   or   pornea .   So   right ,   that&#39;s   where   we   get   the   root   word   for   pornography   or   porn   in   our   modern   day   parlance .   So   that   should   sound   familiar .   But   the   meaning   of   pornea   is   pre-marital   sex ,   adultery ,   prostitution ,   homosexuality ,   incest   and   bestiality .   So   in   other   words ,   it&#39;s   Any   sex   outside   of   a   covenantal   marriage   between   one   man   and   one   woman .   Okay ,   if   you   have   any   type   of   sex   outside   of   that ,   you   are   being   sexually   immoral .

          And   before   you   let   some   freshman   philosophy   professor   or   some   dunce   megachurch   pastor   convince   you   that   Jesus   never   talked   about   homosexuality   or   any   type   of   that ,   let&#39;s   go   to   his   own   words ,   recorded   in   Matthew   15 ,   verse   19 .   For   out   of   the   heart   come   evil   thoughts .   Murder ,   adultery ,   sexual   immorality ,   theft ,   false   witness ,   slander   these   are   what   defile   a   person .   Okay ,   so   sexual   immorality .   There   it&#39;s   recorded   as   porneia ,   but   here   let&#39;s   go   all   the   way   back   to   the   words   of   the   apostle   Paul .   So   we&#39;re   going   into   the   words ,   verse   18 ,   flee   from   sexual   immorality .

          Let   me   just   ask   you   guys ,   what   do   you   think   flee   means   exactly ?   Do   you   think   it   means   hang   out   by   the   line ?   Does   it   mean   figure   out   what   I   can   get   away   with   and   still   consider   myself   a   non-sinner ,   someone   who&#39;s   not   acting   in   a   sexually   immoral   way ?   Is   it   all   right ?   Let&#39;s   just   look   at   the   pictures   of   them   in   their   bathing   suit ,   but   don&#39;t   actually   go   to   their   OnlyFans   account .   Is   that   what   you   think   flee   means ?   Because   with   a   lot   of   guys   that   I&#39;ve   seen ,   that   I&#39;ve   talked   to ,   it   seems   like   that&#39;s   what   they   would   think .

          Flee   means   flee .   It   means   run   away   like   someone   is   chasing   you   with   a   vial ,   a   syringe   full   of   poison   and   they&#39;re   trying   to   stick   it   in   your   neck .   That&#39;s   what   we   do   with   sexual   immorality .   You   don&#39;t   linger   on   the   Instagram   page .   You   don&#39;t   linger   on   the   picture   that   comes   up   on   X .   You   don&#39;t   linger   as   you&#39;re   walking   through   the   supermarket   and   you   see   an   advertisement   pop   up   that&#39;s   got   a   scantily   clad   woman .   You   don&#39;t   linger ,   you   flee .   It&#39;s   mandated   to   us .   We   flee   from   sexual   immorality .   Element   six   of   a   godly   man .   A   godly   man   is   sexually   pure .   If   you   guys   struggle   in   this   area ,   today&#39;s   the   day   that   you   get   a   handle   on   it .
