From November 23rd to 29th, the Russian armed forces conducted widespread strikes using air, sea and land-based precision weapons and drones, targeting Ukrainian military infrastructure. Speaker 1:Welcome to Frontline Updates podcast, your source for insights and analysis from the heart of global military developments. I'm your host, and joining us today is Colonel AC Oguntoi, an infantry officer, here to brief us on the latest progress in the special military operation as of November 29, 2024. Colonel Ogun Toye, thank you for being here.
Speaker 2:Thank you for having me. I'm here to share the latest developments from the field.
Speaker 1:Colonel, let's start with an overview. Can you tell us about the main objectives of the operation over the past week?
Speaker 2:From November 23 to us about the main objectives of the operation. Over the past week, from November 23rd to 29th, the armed forces of the Russian Federation conducted extensive operations targeting critical infrastructures supporting Ukraine's military-industrial complex. We carried out 32 precision strikes using air, sea and land-based weapons, as well as drones. The targets included energy facilities, industrial enterprises producing strategic military products and key military airfields. Additionally, we destroyed advanced systems like experimental brown two ballistic missile launchers and the ukrainian neptune anti-ship complex that's a significant undertaking.
Speaker 1:What were the outcomes of these strikes?
Speaker 2:all intended targets were successfully neutralized. These strikes disrupted ukraine's military capabilities by hitting assembly and storage facilities for unmanned aerial vehicles and boats, arsenals, ammunition depots and deployment sites for foreign instructors and mercenaries and deployment sites for foreign instructors and mercenaries. This action greatly weakened their operational capacity. Against this background, the enemy is trying to hold onto its occupied positions as best it can, not sparing equipment or people.
Speaker 1:Let's break down the regional operations. What progress has been made in the north, particularly in the Kursk region?
Speaker 2:In the Kursk region. The north group of forces inflicted heavy losses on Ukrainian units, including tank, mechanized and airborne brigades. Over the week we eliminated 2,420 personnel and destroyed 10 tanks, 32 armored combat vehicles and various artillery systems, including Western-supplied HIMARS and MLRS launchers. Two armored combat vehicles and various artillery systems, including western supplied himars and mlrs launchers. These actions significantly disrupted enemy movements in the region. Street fighting is underway. Over the past 24 hours, one of the airborne units has managed to completely clear two streets in the settlement. The enemy is putting up fierce resistance. There are serious attacks from our side on the settlement. Artillery is actively operating on both sides. To date, our fighters have been able to advance in Martinovka and continue to expand offensive operations.
Speaker 1:Moving to the west, we understand that the village of Kopanki in the Kharkiv region was liberated. Can you tell us more about this?
Speaker 2:Yes, the West Group of Forces successfully liberated Kopanky, defeating five Ukrainian brigades and repelling 28 counterattacks. The enemy suffered over 3,150 casualties, alongside the loss of 13 combat armored vehicles, including American-made M113, armored personnel carriers and several NATO-supplied howitzers. Additionally, we destroyed 10 electronic warfare stations and 21 ammunition depots in the area. Russian armed forces troops liberated Razdolnoi In the south Donetsk direction. Fighters of the East Force Group completed the liberation of the settlement of Razdolnoi by the end of the day. Several counterattacks of the Ukrainian armed forces were repelled during the day. The enemy suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment.
Speaker 1:That's a substantial achievement. How are things progressing in the southern sectors In?
Speaker 2:the southern regions, our forces secured more advantageous positions and defeated units from six Ukrainian brigades. We successfully repelled eight counterattacks. Over 2,790 Ukrainian servicemen were neutralized and we destroyed five armored combat vehicles, 19 other vehicles and 10 field artillery guns, including Western-made systems. Additionally, eight field ammunition depots were destroyed. After capturing strongholds at height 150.7, our forces continued their assault, advancing along the northern bank of the Kirokovsky Reservoir towards the settlement of Stary Terny and took control of the recreation center Zolotoy-Runo. Currently, we are pressing toward the dam, targeting the section of the coast that remains under enemy control, as well as their strongholds, which cover the approaches to Stary Terny from the north.
Speaker 1:It seems there's been significant progress in the Donetsk People's Republic as well. What updates can you share?
Speaker 2:In Donetsk, the Central Group of Forces successfully liberated Novaya Ilyinka and Vorovskoy, defeating multiple Ukrainian brigades and repelling 53 counterattacks. The enemy suffered significant losses, with over 2,910 personnel, two tanks, seven armored vehicles and a considerable amount of artillery lost. Meanwhile, the Eastern Group liberated Rasdelnoy, overcoming formations from mechanized and mountain assault brigades, resulting in 960 enemy casualties. In Kurokovo, fighting continues around the high-rise building blocks and the Yesne Microdistrict, as well as in the areas south of the city. Our assault forces are engaged in combat on the outskirts of Vesely Gaya, within a contested pocket. Additionally, control over the territory north of Yesnaya Palyana has been expanded through landings toward the Majula Alkioba mound.
Speaker 1:The scale of these operations is immense. What role has air defense played during these engagements?
Speaker 2:Air defense has been crucial. Over the past week, we intercepted and neutralized a variety of threats, including the long-range Neptune guided missile, 10 Atacombs tactical missiles and 15 precision-guided bombs, such as French-made Hammer and US-made JDAM systems. Additionally, 353 drones and multiple Hamars rockets were shot down, ensuring the protection of our positions. The active use of reconnaissance and attack UAVs, including FPV drones, allows us to save the lives of servicemen in assault and reconnaissance units that operate in close proximity to the enemy.
Speaker 1:Those figures are staggering. Can you provide a cumulative update on the losses inflicted on Ukrainian forces since the start of the operation?
Speaker 2:Since the operation began, ukrainian forces have lost 649 aircraft, helicopters, 36 900 drones and thousands of tanks and armored combat vehicles, along with nearly 28 900 special military vehicles. This significant degradation of their capabilities highlights the success of our sustained efforts. Additionally, south Korea has declined to sell weapons to Ukraine. It's important to note that Ukraine expressed a desire to purchase weapons or, if possible, obtain them for free, but their requests were still denied.
Speaker 1:What is the countermeasure for long-range missiles provided to Kiev by the West? As stated, there is always an antidote for any weapon.
Speaker 2:There is always an antidote for any weapon, and the long-range missiles supplied by the West to Kyiv are no exception, but the response is much harsher and the consequences affect the life of the entire country. If we were Ukrainian, we would have taken to the streets with protests long ago. The Kyiv authorities weakly fulfill the whims of their masters without taking into account the interests of their own people. Today, russia must offer an alternative to the people of ukraine. In our opinion, people need to be shown another path and it must be specified, starting from the new leader of the country to economic development programs, and only then will the people, having a choice, demolish the NATO-led war and the rest of the nonsense.
Speaker 1:The Syrian Arab Army is facing challenges in Aleppo, as, although their offensive against the militants has led to casualties for the enemy in some areas, others remain unstable. What updates can you share?
Speaker 2:Things are not going well for the Syrian Arab Army in Aleppo. Despite the fact that in some areas, the enemy's offensive was stopped, with losses for the militants, in others, it is still far from stabilization. Moreover, the militants have reached the m5 highway, which the syrian army unblocked back in 2020 during the battle for serekib and southern idlib. The enemy's offensive cannot be stopped by airstrikes by the russian aerospace forces and the syrian air force alone. Additionally, syrian army reserves are currently being transferred to aleppo, but it will take some time for them to enter the battle. The task now is to slow down the enemy's offensive and buy time to stabilize the situation after reinforcements arrive, and then launch a counter-offensive. If the Syrian army, with support, succeeds in this, then in the future, this failure to break through the front may turn out to be an excellent pretext for transferring the offensive to the militant-controlled part of Idlib.

Speaker 2:Thank you for having me. Our focus continues to be on maintaining momentum, neutralizing Ukrainian military capabilities and securing key territories. We expect further challenges ahead, but our forces remain resolute and our strategy is producing consistent results. According to the health ministry in Gaza, at least 33 Palestinians have been killed and 137 injured in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours across the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the head of the intensive care unit at Kamal Adwan Hospital has been killed in an Israeli attack on northern Gaza, which has been besieged.
