Hear Lyn DiCiero speak with Victorian-based artist Jarrad Martyn, whose work explores our relationship with the natural world, both in a contemporary sense and historically. Blending the figurative and abstract, his works leave an other-wordly impression with images sourced from family albums, in particular, his father’s experience as a helicopter pilot in Antarctica in the 1980s, to travel snapshots. He’s won a swathe of awards and is represented in an ever growing list of collections. He returns to familiar ground in Perth, where he grew up, with Under the Weather the Storm at Stala Contemporary in West Leederville.
