Travel Pause and Some Updates

Hey party people . This is a note to say that I am actually going to be going off to Kenya for a couple of weeks doing some teaching , working in the hospital , doing some rounds and the such , and so I'm not sure how much Invictus we're going to get to . I'm actually going to try and record some of the content that we're presenting in Kenya , in Aga Khan in particular , which is one of the big private hospitals in Nairobi , and then we're going up to a place called Eldoret , to a smaller hospital , and hopefully be visiting some of the county hospitals , which is all very exciting . We go at least once a year . Emergency medicine is just emerging in Kenya and so we are doing our go thing , our global outreach thing , where we go and help train the trainers kind of stuff and do lots of procedure courses and just didactics and lots of things . So , very exciting , if you get a chance , go to Kenya . It's an amazing place . The people are just so wonderful and the nature is incredible and , as I say , it's really emerging in the field of emergency medicine .

But it takes time . I feel like I was right at the beginning of emergency medicine in Australia 35 , 40 years ago . That was a decade or more behind the US , and the challenges that they're having in Kenya are very similar to the challenges that I saw in Australia all those years ago . And also , we got this week some information from ABEM about all the changes that they are suggesting that occur in emergency medicine here in the United States , and one of them just one of them them is going to a four-year program . Like every program will be one through four instead of one through three for some and one through four for others , which was always a little weird .

And there's a whole bunch else in that document that I need to look at . And that's on the back of the new oral exam starting in 2026 , which is something we're also working on here in the Invictus land . So much more to talk to you about .
