Next up, I want to talk about the comprehensive plan refresh. I've had a few questions asking what it is. Why is it relevant? And this will kind of go with the survey that we have put out. The comprehensive plan refresh is aimed at updating the city's long-term growth and development strategy. A comprehensive plan refresh is to evaluate whether the community's vision has changed since the last comprehensive plan that was completed five years ago. The survey aims to determine if the proposed projects which were outlined during the Richmond Rising Comprehensive Plan meetings in 2019, still align with current community preferences. A comprehensive plan is essential for guiding a community's development, growth and management. It addresses various aspects, including land use, economic development, transportation, housing, environmental sustainability and public services. The refresh process will ensure that the plan remains relevant, reflects current trends, addresses emerging challenges and aligns with the community's needs and desires. Additionally, having a comprehensive plan is crucial for the municipality to have to be eligible for grants that fund various projects within the city. The purpose of the survey is to confirm whether the community maintains the same vision and if the proposed projects are still relevant. It will improve the city by allowing us to enhance connectivity, quality of place and infrastructure within the city limits. The refresh will guide decisions related to the land use and the transportation, housing and community development.

Speaker 1:

So the survey, which is called Shaping the Future Connectivity, quality of Place and Infrastructure, is located on our social medias. Everyone in the community to please just get on there, take the survey. There'll be a QR code that you can scan on this podcast to take the survey. I'll have the link to the survey posted in the comments of this podcast.

Speaker 1:

Really trying to get a thousand people to take this survey. So our community we have a population of just over 35,000. And I know a lot of cities have told me that I would be lucky to get a couple hundred, but my goal is 1,000. So I encourage you guys, get on there, take the survey. Rank the proposed subjects connectivity, quality of place and infrastructure. Rank them one to five. You're just gonna click and drag them to one being most important to you and five being least important to you. So I wanna thank you guys for listening to this podcast today. Don't forget.
