Okay, hi, hello. If you're wondering where I've been, same. I didn't disappear. I didn't quit. I didn't rebrand. I just ran out of bandwidth. So today's episode is about that because I do not have time for the guilt spiral that comes with being a human being who needs a little pause.

ChariseAll right, welcome back to I don't have time for this. The podcast for people who are doing their best, holding it together with caffeine and good intentions, but still feel like they're only one dropped email away from screaming into the void. I'm your host, Sharice, and yes, this podcast is still alive, barely, but alive. So where have I been? So let's clear the air. I stopped recording. Well, to be honest, I only did a few episodes anyway, but I really took a big pause and stopped because life got loud, work got heavier, my expectations got higher, and my tolerance for nonsense got lower. But also because, on top of everything else, I was teaching at a new school this year, running my own private studio for the first time, being a parent, being a partner, and being the reliable one. I'm sure you guys know what I mean by that. Also, training for a marathon and studying for a doctoral degree, and trying to pretend that those two things alone do not require my entire soul. Do you know what marathon training does to your schedule, to your energy, to your personality? Zap. And then add on doctoral level reading, writing, thinking, questioning your life choices for sure, and imposter syndrome. So yeah, my podcast paused. Not because it didn't matter, but because my brain and body were already booked solid. And somewhere between long runs, academic articles, deadlines, and trying to eat enough calories to stay upright. Just kidding. That part was not hard for me. But my podcast quietly slipped to the bottom of my list. Not out of neglect, but out of survival. So there's this lie that we are told about consistency. So let's talk about consistency for a second. Because apparently, if you've stopped posting, you failed. If you pause, you've quit. If you rest, you're falling behind. No. Sometimes consistent consistency looks like not burning yourself to the ground. I didn't stop having thoughts. I don't stop having opinions. And I definitely didn't stop caring. I just stopped pretending that I could do everything all at once without consequences. And I do not have the time for the shame culture that says rest needs an apology. The quiet guilt that nobody talks about. So here's one part that no one glamorizes. That little voice inside you that says, you should be doing more. You used to be better at this. You're letting people down. And let's face it, we all have these little voices. Even when nobody actually said that, or probably even thought that, that voice is a liar. And she is not invited into this dungeon studio today. She's not invited, period, into my life. Because growth sometimes looks like for real, fewer outputs, deeper breaths, stronger boundaries, and choosing sustainability, because say that word, over applause. So here's some things that I've learned during my silence. While I wasn't recording, here's what became crystal clear. I don't want this podcast to feel like homework or an extra chore to me. I don't have time for that. I want it to sound like honesty. I want space to evolve without reintroducing myself every single damn time. I don't owe productivity to anyone as proof of my worth. And most importantly, if I wait, and I'm sure you guys can agree with me on this one, if I wait until I'm caught up to create something again, I'll never come back. So here I am, messy, real, definitely out of practice, and not as not slightly out of practice, and I'm done waiting for perfect conditions. So what this podcast podcast is now, gosh, let's reset expectations together. This podcast is not weekly, unless it is, not polished, unless it needs to be, not trying to be algorithm-friendly, definitely still honest, still funny on a good day. Well, I try, and still saying the quiet parts out loud. If you're here for perfection, you're lost. You're in the wrong place. If you're here for real, pull up a chair. If you've taken a break for something you've love and you felt weird about it, this is your permission slip. It's okay. You didn't quit. You paused, you survived, and you can come back without having to explain yourself. And as always, I don't have time for the guilt. I don't have time for the pressure, and I don't have time for pretending that I'm not human. And I definitely don't have time for this bull.
