Well, hey there, you beautiful eternal being. In today's episode, I'm going to help you to grow your profits with the power of love. I'm declaring this summer the summer of love. I've declared this summer is the summer of love and profits. So I felt um there was no better time than right now in this time and space realm than to declare the summer of love and profits for all business owners who are ready to step out of the murkiness, to step out of the frustration, to step out of that yucky vibration that is currently invading and infiltrating. There's a flu going around. There's a flu going around. I don't know if you've noticed it. Um, and the flu, let's not talk too much about the flu, but let's address the flu. There's a flu going around. And the flu being, well, number one, the flu that comes every summer is there's a summer slump, right? That like all business owners have this belief that the summer is a slow sales season. And that's fine, you know, but we don't actually have to abide in that belief. But there's a bigger flu and mind virus going around that um basically the world is going to hell in a handbasket. And that, you know, there's all kinds of stuff happening in the economy, and there's all kinds of stuff happening in online business. Speaking directly to the online business world, there's a lot of people who right now are noticing things have changed so much in online business. And I've been around doing online business since 2009, and I've seen all kinds of trends come and go and come and go and come and go, such as the seasons of life, things change. And as they change, this is a great opportunity. I'm calling this, and I've been calling it the sunrise era. And so my whole approach with all of it is whenever there's a change in the seasons, I fully embrace those changes. And that's why I'm declaring this the summer of love. Because always, 100% of the time, when there's a change in the seasons, a change in the market, a change in the world around us, and it elicits some form of unpleasantness, you know, in your body and your belief system and your business. If you notice your profits might be dipping down a little bit, all of that stuff, it's always a call for love. Always. I'm a teacher of the Course in Miracles, so that's kind of my angle with all of it. But I've used my own personal experiences in being an online business since 2009 and my own personal journey that I'm gonna share with you today to help you to really understand why it's so important for you to jump into the summer of love, not just as like I have some events that I'm gonna be talking about in this episode and coming episodes, but I have a free event this Friday, the 26th of June, called Let Love Grow Your Profits. But this summer for Brendaturner.com, it is the summer of love, and we're gonna be doing all kinds of events till the end of the summer. And we're gonna talk about that this in today's episode. I'm also drinking some coffee. So if you hear me kind of drinking coffee, you'll have to excuse me. But it's um it's a beautiful morning here in Austin and it's hot. It's so hot in Austin, and I have the air conditioner on, and I'm pretending like I'm living in Colorado for right now, and that I'm enjoying a hot cup of coffee in a crisp, cool climate. But let's start there. I'm gonna share a quick story that you've probably heard before, but this is actually very important. So I've been doing business since 2009, like I said. And in full disclosure, as I've mentioned before, I really wasn't moving in that joy and love space in the first half of my business. I was so driven by the ego and by fear. And here's the thing about business it's a double-edged sword. So if you're a business owner, you have to realize that there's two sides to this coin. It's a very powerful way to live in this world, to be a business owner, but it's also very tricky if you don't do it with love. So if your business isn't built 100% on love, it will always, and I mean always, I guarantee it, it will always create a source of stress and overwhelm and misery, anxiety, pressure, self-doubt. So if you're a business owner and it's not operated in 100% love, if you haven't given the whole business to love, and I mean every square inch of it, from the accounting to the offers to the content, if you haven't given every scrap of the furniture of your business to love, it's impossible for you to have a business that's both profitable and that supports you in your life. So the first half of my business, I was operating 100%. Well, I mean, I had love in there and I loved who I was serving and I loved what I was talking about for so much of it, but it wasn't really truly coming from and operated from 100% love. And that created a great deal of anxiety, overworking, overwhelm. My profits were good, but they were not consistently, they were not consistently good. So it would be like I had seasons where they would be really good, and then I'd be like, ah, who knows? Maybe next month they'll be good. And I wasn't really sure. And also the whole time it felt like to get my business profitable, it was like a coal engine where if you see the cartoons where you're having to shovel coal, I was constantly having to work. You know, I was on this really heavy work schedule. And truth be told, I was a work addict. I was a workaholic, they call it. So I was a workaholic working my tail off for sales. And I was getting sales, and that does work. But now being on the other side of it, the the last, the second half of my business, these last many years, since I stopped living like that, and I really chose to live my life from a space of love. And every single ounce of my business, to the best of my ability, is done with love. I'll get more into the practicals, but now that it's done with love, now it's really funny because I'm obviously doing the same kind of work. You know, I have an online business, I'm teaching what I what I know to be true, I'm helping others with online education, I'm creating products and services and events just like I was before. But now what happens is my whole life on the second half of my business, my whole life is a big, giant, healthy ecosystem where my business is actually supporting my life instead of the other way around. It's a reverse engineering thing. The other way around, the business that I had in the first half of my business, it was sucking all of my energy out of me. So it required me to give all of this energy to this hungry ghost of a business that was built off of the um, you know, the fear that I'm not good enough, the hope that it would make me enough money that I could, you know, skip off into the horizon with bags of money. That wasn't like my my forward-thinking thought, but that is underneath the surface of a business that's not built on love. The business owner is like, one day I'll make enough money and then I'll finally be able to relax. And it never comes, by the way. That first kind of way of doing business, I promise you, that number that you think in your head, once I get this number, then I'll finally be able to relax and settle off into the horizon or whatever. That number never comes. It doesn't matter. Here's why the ego is insatiable. And it says, okay, how about this much? Okay, but let's go a little bit higher. Okay, but let's go a little bit higher. So the first half of my business, um, I grew up with a teen mom who was obviously we were, I grew up basically in poverty. She was an amazing mother. But I always thought, one day, if I make enough money, I'll feel free. One day, if I make enough money, I will feel completely and totally at peace. Now, what happened was I started making money in my online business and I hit my first six figures by year two of my business. But you would think, oh, I hit the first six figures, I would feel like a total sense of relief and joy. And oh my God, I can't believe it. This little Chicago girl who grew up on Raymond Noodles, she feels free now, right? No. No, the whole way through, didn't matter how much money I made, didn't matter if I had a five-figure day. You know, a five-figure day for this little Chicago girl should have knocked me on my ass and said, Oh my God, I can't believe I had this much money made in one day. But that never happened. So, what what happened with that first side of my business? And I'm pretty sure any business owners who are listening to this know this to be true. Um, you understand what I mean by this. You think, oh, once I get my first sale, then I can feel relaxed and that'll be proof positive. Somebody will buy from me. You get your first sale, and it's like, wait, hold on. Now I gotta get 10. Like once I get my first 10, oh, you know, you just so that part of it never arrived, I never had an arrival point. And so that's our first kind of the first pointer that I'll give is if you're if you are um at all feeling overwhelmed and stressed on a regular basis, meaning a tightness in your chest, a tightness in your diaphragm, um, a tightness in your jaw. My main thing was I I had I carried this tightness in my chest and my diaphragm basically every day for the first half of my business. And I was driven by that fear. And so um eventually, when I had that health crisis that I've talked about so many times in this podcast, I had a health crisis of alopecia and lupus. I gave myself autoimmune, I didn't give myself, but the divine beloved graced me with some autoimmune issues as a kind of, you know, reality check. You can't keep doing it this way. And I'm most positive that you have not, that you are leaps and bounds ahead of where I was when I first started my business. But it is so normalized for business owners to operate their business from this space of ego, you know, and not ego as in the vain kind of self-serving ego. But I'm saying if your business isn't built 100% from love, it is 100% built from ego, even if there's some love sprinkled in there. And it makes it impossible for you to actually enjoy your business. And that's insane, you know? It's insane for us to be spending so much of our day doing things that we don't enjoy in an energetic state we don't enjoy, feeling lots and lots of fear or stress or overwhelm or anxiety. So that's the first pointer that I'd like to give. And if we operate our business and say, no more of this, I'm gonna give my business 100% to love as a starting point of your business. Now, guess what? That whole thing heals, and you've now arrived. Okay. And I'm gonna be sharing a little bit more about this today, but I'm gonna be showing a lot more about this on Fridays Free Training at Brendaturner.com slash training. Um, okay, so let's go on to the next part of my story. So after I had that health crisis and I had an awakening, and the awakening was more or less I realized that I'm not, I'm not this fear, and I no longer wanted the fear to run my life. And I had to actually make a conscious choice. I realized I had agency here, and I could actually make a choice to live my life in love and operate my business from love if I wanted to. And what that led me to do is take some space and time. So I took a walk about around the world. I went to Peru, I went to the Dominican, I went to all over the United States, and I trained with some amazing teachers and got a bunch of certifications and things like yoga and somatics and meditation just because I wanted to learn about the inner workings. And um, I didn't have any intention of using that, you know, in a business, but I did end up using that in a business. So here's what happened. I thought during my walk about I I sincerely gave up the idea and the concept of the lean secrets persona that I was wearing. And I thought, I'm forget it. I, you know, I retire, it's fine. And I had the money to retire for long enough, you know. And I was just like, forget it, you know, I'll just step away for a while. And I wasn't rejecting it or whatever, but I just stepped away for a little while. And I didn't know what was gonna happen. I was just basically opening my heart to the journey of life. And I was, I learned to in that moment when I had the awakening and I had a choice that I'm no longer gonna follow the fear. I'm no longer gonna let fear dictate what I do with my life. And I'm no longer going to uh assume that money is going to bring me a sense of freedom because that I'd proved proven to myself up until that point that money doesn't do it. But then eventually during that walkabout, I did come to a very strong poll to get back into business. Because I don't, I don't want to put a finish that sentence because, but my best assumption is just because that is my life's path and because it is probably your life's path as well. Um it would have been a complete denial of my of my own uh life's journey to just go and sit in a cave. I was very tempted to go and sit in a cave, but that would have kind of been a cop-out, to be honest. Um, I would have absolutely no problems with giving up every single possession that I own and going sitting in a cave. That would actually be like heaven to me. Um, I don't really have much of a care for material possessions. And I did I don't have a television. I've talked at great lengths about how I live a monastic lifestyle. Yet I'm still sitting here teaching business and running a business. And why is that? It's because it's part of my life's journey. And because I've found that those of us who are put here to be business owners from a space of love, um, that is the most healing thing that we can do in this time and space realm, as uh, you know, as those of us who are business owners who happen to also be interested in making this world a better place. Because we live in a society that is Western and there is capitalism here, it doesn't make any sense to assume that this world can heal without those of us who are awake and aware and interested in making the world a better place to totally opt out of that whole paradigm and assume that those who have no interest in making the world a better place that they should be the capitalists, that they should be the ones participating in this whole structure. I have found that there's a divine reason for everything. And so the reason that I'm called to do this work, uh what I found is there are so many people in this world like you who are on a path to make this world a better place. Whether that means putting up great videos that really help other people or creating great products or creating great services and events or whatever your thing is. And we actually need to be doing this work, not to be martyrs, you know, and not to like quote unquote save the world, but just for no other reason than that is love pouring through us out into the world. Now, moving along to what what I came to when I came back to teach all of this, um, I started teaching spirituality, and then I just assumed I'm gonna teach yoga and meditation and spirituality, and that's what I thought I was gonna do. And what I learned was um because I had this unflinching, um, this unflinching devotion to love and letting love guide my way. For whatever reason, the spiritual community that I had, I loved the people in there and I loved what I was doing. I really did, but it just didn't feel in alignment. Okay, for whatever reason. Once again, I don't know why. And this is an important part of the paradigm. Um, I don't know why. But what I do know is when I said, I want to teach about business, that's something else I can offer the world. Because the main prayer that we can do as business owners is who can I help and how can I help them? When I sat in meditation, I said, Who can I help and how can I help them? And I was given in my mind's eye this um, this kind of knowing that I'm really good at business and I can teach about business. And I love talking about business. And and so that for me felt in my heart, it felt an opening. Okay, let me teach about business. This is something I know, like the back of my hand. I've been doing it since 2009, I've been doing it for many years. This is something I can bring to the world. And when I started doing that, I started creating offerings, and this is the process. Um, the love gives you a clue, gives you a little tap on the shoulder, and it says, Hello, I'm love. Can I come into your world? Now, what most business owners do is they feel the tap of love on their shoulder or in their heart, or they might feel this tap of love in the in the way of you know, a breathlessness, uh, an idea so exhilarating they can't even handle it, and then they lock it away and they ignore it. Or who knows what. But I took it as a clear directive. Okay, here's love. I would love to talk about this. And then we're off to the races. And so my guarantee is 100% of the time, when you follow love, which is what I'm gonna show you how to do on Friday, June 26th, at the Let Love Girl Your Prophets Free Training. When you follow love, you cannot go wrong. And I'd like to make this very tangible and very practical right now so that you understand. So far, up until this point, it's sounded a little bit like the ravings of a woo-woo lunatic. I really understand that sometimes it can sound a little bit ungrounded, but I want to make it grounded for you because it's very important that we integrate our spiritual life and our you, dear listener, you have an ability to love like no, like nobody else. You know, there's only you could love the way that you love. You have a very unique love print in the world. So I'm I want to help you right now to integrate what I'm talking about and help you to understand this is the most common sense way to grow a business. So we've already covered why we don't want to start a business from anything other than love, but you've already got customers, you already are in the swing of business. Now, the fact that you are able to generate sales and have customers shows that there's love in your business already. But if you don't have 100% of your business built on love, and if there's a place in your business that might be lacking in love, here's what that looks like. If the sales are feeling really heavy, like hard work, it feels like hard work. If you feel like you have to put on a sweatband to get to your day and you have to take a couple deep breaths and gear yourself up for the work you're about to do, that's a really nice sign that there's a little lack of love there because we're spending most of our day doing this stuff. It's very important that we love most of the stuff that we do now. Just like with a baby, you know, you love your kid, you're gonna have to change some diapers sometimes. We might not love that, but isn't it important that we love what we're doing? And there are so many business owners out there who don't really love what they're doing. I'm assuming that you love some of what you do, but it's if you have if you are experiencing or having the issue where you have to show up and get sweating and do things that make your nervous system feel frayed, there's a lack of love there. You're the center point of your business, and everything that emits from you is a reflection of the state of your being. And if you are Operating your business and part of it you're resenting and you're kind of hating parts of your business, that's actually going to ripple out into your profits. Okay. And then let's go to the next kind of pointer or, you know, powerful common sense grounded application for why we need love in our business. If your products and services aren't something that you're madly in love with, like, are you madly in love with your products and with your services? Like if you weren't you, would you be clamoring over other people to buy what you have for sale? And I know that sounds like, oh, like that's a tall order, but if you look at your stuff honestly, I hope you're really proud of whatever it is you're doing. But if, and I'm guilty of this as well, if there's ever anything in your offer suite that you're not really truly in love with, even if you were in love with it a time ago, but you're if you're not really in love with what you're offering right now, and you wish that you could be offering something else, isn't it more is wouldn't it make sense? Isn't it the most practical idea that if you don't love something and you're trying to sell it to other people, even if it is something that's very helpful to many people, but you don't really love it? Isn't it, wouldn't it make sense that it's possible if you loved something, you would be able to sell it a lot easier. Because you're you're not holding back, you're not trying to secretly sabotage it or whatever. Or let's just say another, put it another way, is there a secret something, like a deep down something that you would really love to be doing in your business, but you've been holding back because you're not sure if it's gonna work out. Here's a secret that thing that you're secret that you're secretly wanting, that you're like, oh, I really wish I could be doing this thing. That's actually love trying to pour out and through you. It's it's love asking you, let's give it a shot. Can we please try this? It's a beautiful person who just came up to you, one of the most gorgeous people you've ever seen. And they're like, hey, would you like to go out to dinner sometime? And you're like, but what if they break my heart? And it's like, just go to dinner. Just go, just say yes, just go have a good time, just go see what happens. You don't have to commit yourself 100% to this little secret idea that you have. But we as business owners, we sometimes tend to hold ourselves back. We're not letting love guide the way. Again, we're letting fear steer the ship of our business. And in in my own personal experience, when I let love steer the ship, and I say, What would what would you have me do today? What are we up to? Let's take a look at the business. Where could we put some more love into this thing? The profits flow so much easier. So before, in my in the first half of my business, when I was really overworking, it's self-inflicted drama, it's self-inflicted stress. We actually could just let love take over. And then even when you do have to show up and work on some stuff, you're gonna we're we as business owners, we are gonna work. You know, there's no getting around it. We do have to work, and that's part of the the whole process is we want to be doing this stuff. You as a business owner, you want to be doing it, else you wouldn't be doing it. So you want to be doing it, but the world has shaped us all into these weird pretzel shapes that were showing up in a way that's not really authentic. And there's a possibility, a very real one, that you might be leaving a huge treasure trove of money underneath you're sitting right on top of this treasure trove of money, this idea or the secret business that you might have deep in your heart, the secret product that you might want to add to your business, that if you just got up off that thing and said, Okay, let's pop it open and let's see what happens, that your business will grow a whole lot easier. And you would love it anyway. Okay, another practical way that we can apply love to the business and how this might show up and like um why it's so practical, how how to apply this in a practical way and like what it might look like if it's not in there is let's talk about your offerings in terms of like live events or uh challenges or webinars or whatever. See, a lot of business owners they shy away from things like doing live webinars or live challenges or live events or immersions or retreats or whatever. And a lot of that is because of fear. Again, you're you're either in operating your business in love or fear. And if you're operating your business from fear, you're holding back so much, so much of your growth. You're holding back so much of your profits, you're holding back so much of, you know, the full expression of your business. You're you're not really giving your business the ability to blossom. So it's like this tight little flower. And every time you say no to something that could grow you or your business, it tightens up the flower and it's not able to blossom. So another practical way that love is the only way to grow your business. I want you to think about this. Let's take a partnership. Imagine you're in a partnership, which is exactly what business is. Every time you have a customer, you're in a relationship with that person, whether you're ever gonna meet them or not. And that relationship, imagine being with a partner who is solely worried about what they're gonna get. Now, obviously, as business owners, we happen to be kind of generous by nature. We're like, okay, I'm gonna create something that helps people solve a problem. But once again, like I started this podcast with the ego is very slippery and it'll get in there in the back door. And it might not say it outright, but your motivations and the way that you move might be out of love. It might be, it might be lacking in love, it might be out of alignment and lacking in love. And so if the ego gets in there and gets your motivations based off of fear and gets your day-to-day operations based in a lack of love, based in a how much can I make today, based in a profit-driven, profit-focused, how much money did we make today? And that's the primary, primary thing that's moving your decisions. How can we make the most money today? It's very funny because when we focus just on that profit target, we will probably make some profits, but they're not going to be as good as if we shift into love. Now imagine having a partner. If you've ever had a partner who's so generous and they're just pouring and pouring and pouring love onto you. And they're just like, what else can I get you? Do you need anything? I just wanted to call and say hi. Just checking in. Hey, I got you this awesome gift. You mentioned that you needed help with XYZ. You mentioned you needed a new air conditioner. I got you an air conditioner and a bonus fan. Here you go. Swoon. Swoon. Let's get married, you know. But a lot of uh a lot of us have been taught as business owners to focus solely on the profits and all these strategies and targets and metrics. We're getting in analytics, dashboards, and looking at numbers and spreadsheets and treating the business like this big giant conglomeration of spreadsheets and statistics and strategies and all this stuff. Meanwhile, your person sitting there just needing you to love them. So if we apply love to your every business has the same things. Every business, regardless of what it doesn't matter if you're an ego-based business or a love-based business or whatever. It doesn't matter what kind of business you have. Every business needs a good offering, every business needs the marketing, every business needs promotions, every business needs the delivery, every business needs those core foundational things. Every business needs the nurturing of the leads, quote unquote, all this business jargon that you do need those things. So as a business owner, you already know that. You know, you need to sell some products, you need to create products that are very good, you need to help other people solve their problems, you need to market to those people, get your offer in front of the right people. But here's the problem in online business today, everybody's focused on these silly little numbers. They're getting in the analytics dashboard. I have students asking me about the analytics dashboard, send me regularly, you know, that and I don't ever say you're wrong for doing those things. You're not. You're not, but that can't be the primary way that we make decisions. It's it doesn't make any sense. And I know the people who think in a strategic way, and they're just always looking at the spreadsheets and all that stuff, would say what I'm saying doesn't make any sense. And neither of us are wrong, but it's about what you would enjoy more. Wouldn't it make more sense that if you have a person sitting in front of you, your customer, your hero, and they really need your love today, that you could just relax into, okay, let's think about what I can offer them that's based in love. Instead of looking at all these spreadsheets and looking at all the analytics and busting your ass looking at SEO nonsense and trying to tinker with all the stuff. Instead, you just look at your person, say, hey, I see you. I really care about you. Let me put together something that's really gonna help you. You want to spend some time with me? Let's go out to, you know, proverbial, a proverbial dinner. Can I take you out somewhere? Can I give you something nice? Just wanted to let you know I really do care about you. Here's a nice little love letter this week. I made you something nice. Here's a nice video that's gonna help you. You know, all of it based in love. And just relaxing into love and saying to yourself, what would I love to create today that I know will also serve those people that I so deeply care about? And it's a totally different paradigm. What I want to leave you with is this I want you to picture the person you love the most in your life. Whether it's a pet, whether it's somebody who's no longer here or whatever, or whether it's somebody who is here. Picture the or the people, you know, if it's your family, picture the people you love the most. And also picture the things you love the most. Picture the environments that you love the most. Picture the things that really light you up in this world. Picture all the good things that have ever happened in your life. Now, that feeling tone that you're getting in your body, that love, it's actually the only thing that's real in this entire universe. And it is the most powerful force in the entire universe. Okay. Love is the only thing that actually matters in this world. Love is the only thing that actually matters in this world. Love is the only thing that actually matters in this world. And as business owners, we assume we have our whole life over here. We're gonna love our family, we're gonna love this, we're gonna love that. We could actually take that same love and we can pour it into our business. And actually, here's the thing about it: when you give love, you're given love. So this is something millions of business owners are missing. They're they're missing the whole point of the thing. The whole point of the thing is so you can enjoy your life. You're not out there creating a business just for, you know, the money. The money is great. And you make a lot more money when you're actually running a business with love. So imagine all those things that you love. Imagine the people that you love. Now, is there anything that you wouldn't do for those people? Is there anything that, you know, there's nothing that you wouldn't do for those people in your life that you love so much? People have gotten superhuman strength lifting cars up. You know, mothers have lifted cars up from the strength of love. And we are not using that force enough, nearly enough. Hardly at all, many, many of us are not using that love force enough in our business. And when you start pouring that love force into your business, all the other stuff, doesn't it make sense? Wouldn't it make sense? That same love that has healed every single wound you've ever had in your life, that same love that has guaranteed your heart is beating every minute of every day, that same love that you are driven by to, you know, to support your family. You know, you love your family, all of that stuff that that really fills us up and makes our lives so great. Let's pour that into our business. So I'm gonna be teaching practical and tangible strategies on Friday. This is the first event to kick off the summer of love for Brendaturner.com. I'm um I'm developing right now this summer, you're gonna learn my love force method. So I'm developing this method with you. And we're gonna actually install this into your business so that it doesn't matter what strategy you're using, it doesn't matter what content platform you want to use, it doesn't matter how many emails you want to send a week, it doesn't matter the YouTube strategy that you take.
