Pedro Espinoza

Send us a text

In this episode, I explore the provocative idea that the existence of demons may serve as a compelling argument for the existence of God. I delve into the implications of believing in evil spiritual beings and how this belief can lead to a deeper understanding of Christianity. This conversation covers historical contexts, the unique perspective Christianity offers on demons, and the hope and authority found within the faith. Ultimately, it invites listeners to consider their own experiences with the supernatural and the possibility of personal freedom through faith.

Is the existence of demons one of the strongest arguments for the existence of God for Welcome to episode 29 folks. Thank you for supporting the podcast Before we get into answering that question. I want to share a video with you and In this video, there's going to be a breakdown of this very topic

and regarding the recent mass shooting.

that occurred in Minneapolis at a Catholic church. Unfortunately, this mass shooter shot and killed two innocent children and injuring 21 others. So let's dive into this video and let me know your thoughts.

What are your thoughts guys? Terrible stuff going on and unfortunately, you know, innocent lives were murdered. Innocent blood was shed. This is the kind of stuff that's happening in today's world and I hope you're starting to realize this. If this isn't yet another sign of the end times, then I don't know what is. So we are going to base today's episode on

this video and the idea that the existence of demons is a strong argument for the existence of God. All right. Let's dive in.

So as stated before, the existence of demons is one of the strongest arguments for the existence of God and the truth of Christianity. Yep, you heard that right.

Now, whether you're deeply religious, curious, or a hardened skeptic, this statement forces a question we don't often ask directly. Can the existence of evil spiritual beings point us toward the existence of God?

Let's unpack the statement. What does it mean to say that demons argument for the truth of Christianity?

If demons exist, real conscious evil spiritual beings, then the supernatural realm is real. And if that's real, maybe Christian claims about the spiritual world, God, angels, salvation, spiritual warfare are also true.

Especially since Christianity offers one of the most detailed and consistent frameworks for understanding demons.

In short, if demons are real, maybe Jesus is too.

It's an argument from evidence, not just theology.

Now let's talk about why people find this compelling, especially those who weren't raised in the faith.

For many, by and large, intellectual arguments about God feel abstract. But then something happens.

A disturbing supernatural experience. A friend undergoes an exorcism, a house feels haunted, not in the Scooby-Doo way, but in a deeply personal, almost intelligent, malevolent way.

In these moments, belief in evil spiritual forces becomes hard to ignore.

spirits exist, the next logical question is, where is the good? Is there a God who opposes them?

Christianity has a very clear answer. Not only does it affirm the reality of demons, but it says, yes, they're real, but they've already been defeated.

That's part of why some former skeptics have said evil led them to Christ, not away from him.

Let's ground this in some context. In the New Testament, Jesus frequently casts out demons. In fact, it's one of the things he's most often recorded doing. Not metaphorically, not symbolically, literally. The Gospel of Mark opens with Jesus casting a demon out of a man in a synagogue. That's chapter one.

Throughout church history, exorcism has remained a practice, also surprisingly consistent across cultures.

Even today, the Vatican has official exorcists

when what they're seeing doesn't fit medical categories.

This raises an important question. all of this just be mental illness or cultural suggestion? Absolutely, some of it could

But all of it? Some argue that when multiple cultures across centuries report similar phenomena, especially ones that seem to respond to Christian authority, it's worth asking whether something real is going on.

But let's be fair, This argument isn't airtight. Even if you believe demons exist, that doesn't automatically mean Christianity is true. Other religions believe in evil spirits too. Islam, Hinduism, tribal spiritualities,

new age practitioners talk about dark entities. So why privilege the Christian interpretation?

Good question. This is where the specificity of the Christian worldview becomes a strength. systems, Christianity

claims that demons were once good, but rebelled.

this. Created originally as good beings who rebelled against God, his purpose. origin story is rooted in cosmic rebellion, not dualism, chaos, or morally neutral forces.

Christianity grounds spiritual warfare in the person and work of Jesus. The New Testament portrays the Christian life as a battle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. That's Ephesians 6-12, one of my favorite verses in the Bible and arguably one of the most popular.

And Christianity offers not just defense, but victory through Christ. a core part of his ministry.

In fact, exorcisms are one of the first signs of his kingdom breaking in. Christianity doesn't just explain demons, It presents a solution to them.

That solution isn't symbolic, it's a historical cosmic victory. The New Testament says,

and having disarmed the rulers and authorities, he put them to open shame,

triumphing over them by the cross, Colossians 2.15. In fact, you could say that demon possession and even more oppression is the satanic counterfeit of what Christianity calls the led by the Spirit.

where the Holy Spirit empowers, liberates, and leads people into truth, demonic influence, enslaves, deceives, and distorts.

It's a perversion of a real holy relationship, one that the enemy mimics in order to control rather than free.

But here's the hope, you dear children are from God and have overcome them because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. Another great verse, 1 John 4, 4.

That's not just theology, it's identity. Christianity doesn't just explain evil, it offers authority over it. Grounded in the indwelling power of God himself.

The end game is clear. Unlike systems that treat evil spirits as a permanent,

cyclical force or balance in the universe, Christianity has a final act. God will ultimately judge and banish all evil. Spiritual and human alike. Evil doesn't win.

Lastly and more importantly, Christianity invites personal freedom, not just cosmic insight. Christian deliverance isn't about mastering arcane rituals or appeasing spirits. It's about a person, Jesus, setting people free. The focus isn't just on what the demonic is, but how a person can be liberated from it.

So for some, this coherence matters. For others, it's still not enough.

So what do we do with all this? who believes in God, maybe this challenges you to think about how evil isn't just moral or systemic, it might also be personal, intelligent, and spiritual. If you're a skeptic, maybe this opens a door to considering that not everything weird

is just mental illness or fantasy.

Maybe, just maybe, there's more going on behind the veil.

And if you had an experience you can't explain, maybe one that scared you or made you feel not alone when you really were, you're not crazy. You're not alone. And your story might just be part of a much bigger one.
