Hi, my name's Mary Deebury, and I work with the Zero Suicide Grant for the Wapagee Sick Procuboy Health Clinic. I want to talk to you a little bit about what that is. The Zero Suicide Framework is a practice transformation model for health care systems to effectively reduce suicidal behavior. Zero Suicide Models, what it takes to make a system-wide organizational commitment to safer suicide care. Zero suicide is based on the realization that people experiencing suicidal thoughts and urges often fall through the cracks in a sometimes fragmented and distracted healthcare system. The seven elements of zero suicide represent what experts in the field of suicide prevention have identified as the core components of a safe care for individuals with suicidal thoughts and urges. They represent a holistic approach to suicide prevention within health and behavioral health care systems. The first element is lead, and this objective is to identify people that will be in leadership roles helping to reduce suicide among people under care. Train. Objective three, identify. The Rocky Boy Health Center will systematically identify and assess suicide risk among people receiving care. This is done through a laptop that we offer the patient when they come in, or it's done through conversation with the provider when they come in for care. Objective four, engage. If a patient is feeling suicidal, we ensure that the person has a suicide care management plan before they leave the office. This can be a pathway to care that is both timely and adequate to meet his or her needs. Objective five, treat. This project will use evidence-based programming that will directly target suicidal LT. We will assess for risk and also develop a safe plan to ensure that the individual is safe. Objective six, transition. At the transition stage of the project, we will provide continuous contact and support, especially after care. Objective seven, improve. Finally, the Rocky Boy Health Center ZSI will apply a data-driven quality improvement approach to inform system changes that will lead to improved patient outcomes and better care for those at risk of suicide. So when an individual comes in, like I said, they were either answer some questions on an iPad or the provider may ask some questions to find out if they're depressed, suicidal, and we'll talk with them, do some assessments, and develop a safe care plan for them. We'll be sending out a survey pretty soon to all staff. Um and it's gonna ask some questions on if you are aware of what the zero suicide model is. Um it might ask you some different components of what I just read to you, those seven components. And we appreciate your feedback on our survey that we'll be sending out.
