My guest today is John Andrews, a partner and head of corporate and commercial with Ronald Fletcher Baker llp, a Legal 500 firm founded in 1948.
The firm has 140 employees with full service officed in the City, West End, Manchester, Exeter and, more recently, Richmond, Surrey.
John’s core expertise lies in business sales and acquisitions, and in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, from shareholder agreements and articles of association to joint venture agreements.
On top of his legal practice, John has years of experience in law firm management.
He previously served as Head of London for a top‑50 UK firm, where he was responsible for an office of 200 staff and 48 partners, with a turnover of £25 million. In that role, he set budgets, controlled aged debt and WIP, and recruited and managed partners and senior team members.
That blend of board‑level management and frontline corporate work gives John a rare, practical insight into how to overcome the real-world challenges faced by SME business owners and the law firms.
