God Is Real Love. (G.I.R.L) Podcast

I AM/Enough

Elene Badeau Season 1 Episode 3

Feeling overwhelmed and inadequate is a journey many of us know all too well, and it's one I've personally walked as I embarked on creating this podcast. Join me, Elene Badeau, as I share how embracing the affirmation "I am enough" through the lens of faith has transformed my understanding of self-worth. Together, we'll uncover how our true competence and identity are deeply rooted in our relationship with God rather than our own abilities. This episode is a heartfelt exploration of how leaning on God's strength fills our voids and empowers us to walk confidently in His plan, regardless of the challenges we face.

We'll also redefine what it means to be enough by shifting the focus from worldly self-sufficiency to divine sufficiency. It's a powerful reminder that "I am enough because God is enough." Whether you're navigating the complexities of professional life, motherhood, or academia, discover how bringing God into every aspect of life allows you to transcend personal limitations and align with His limitless power. I wrap up with a prayer of gratitude for God's sustaining presence and His plans to prosper us, leaving you inspired to recognize your worth through the love and guidance of Christ.

Speaker 1:

Hello ladies, welcome to God is Real Love podcast girl podcast, where we help you understand your identity in Christ through the love of God, by diving into his word, where we explore faith, self-love and the incredible journey of walking with him. I am your host, ellen Bordeaux, and I am so excited to have you on here today. Last episode we talked about the I am affirmations and how the world uses these affirmations to uplift women, but unfortunately, they use these affirmations apart from God. Well, in this series, we'll be using the affirmations with God, because he is the great I am, of course. So this series is called I Am Affirmations the 12 truths about me, and in this episode we'll be talking about I am enough, let's get started. So I have been planning this podcast for a minute now three years. I can honestly hear my friend in my ear right now saying when are you gonna start this podcast, ellen? I'll be like soon, soon.

Speaker 1:

But as I was planning this podcast, um with somebody we were on Zoom and in the ending of the meeting I felt the Holy Spirit, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and it was really heavy. And at the end of the meeting I started crying. When I said, I bawled my eyes out and that's how I knew it was real. That's how I knew this was becoming real. Like, oh my gosh, I'm going to do this podcast. And I just kept crying and then I felt the Lord was prompting me to just write everything that I felt down. And I did. And I wrote it down because I really wanted to share with you my thoughts and how I felt at that moment. So, yeah, I'm going to share it. God, I'm overwhelmed. All I hear is focus, focus on the plan. The work you have been doing in private is coming out in public, and I don't know the whole picture, but I know it's going to be big. God, honestly, I don't know if I'm big enough, if I'm good enough or qualified enough to do this. Ladies, have you ever felt this way? Whether it's the first day of class, or you're the only woman in a boardroom filled with men, or it's your first time into motherhood, you ask yourselves am I good enough? Am I qualified enough? Can I accomplish the mission that god has set for me? And when we ask ourselves these questions, we are saying that we can do this all on our own, that we got this.

Speaker 1:

And when I was writing in my journal. That's what I realized. I was realizing that I was saying that I could do this on my own. It was I can figure it out, I can do this. I can do it this way. I can do it that way. I can do it my way. Because I want it that way. Tell me why. Yeah, I just had to. It was there, I just had to. I guess it was. It was there, I just I just had to. Um, but I wanted it to be my way. And because I was focused on myself and it was all about me.

Speaker 1:

And that led to frustration, low self-esteem and me questioning my self-worth. And then I realized something else that I'm not enough. I'm not enough, but say but. But I know a man named Jesus Christ who died on the cross and rose in three days. So that I can be enough, so that I don't have to do this on my own, for our qualifications do not come from us, but it comes from God. In 2 Corinthians 3, verse 5, it reminds us that, not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence come from God. So when we walk with God, he reminds us of who we are in him, he reminds us of his love and he equips us for the job that he has called us to do. Let me tell you this if he has chosen you for the job, he sees that you are the right person for the job.

Speaker 1:

So I was originally supposed to stop my podcast right here, but god wanted me to dive into more of I am enough. He wants me to remind you guys that he alone is enough, and it's going to get quite serious, because I need us women to understand that. And when I'm talking to you guys, I'm talking to myself too, because there are times when I need to remind myself that God is enough, need to remind myself that God is enough in every aspect of your life, in every season of your life. He alone is enough, whether it's a breakup, a season of singleness, he alone is enough to fill the void that comes in it. You don't need to feel high to fill that void. You don't need money to fill that void. You don't need a person to fill that void. To fill that void, you don't need a person to fill that void. The Lord of Lords, the Kings of Kings, is well enough to fill that emptiness that you feel inside of you when you realize he is enough. You know that you are enough because your identity is in him. So when the time of discomfort arrives and you feel that you need to go to the original substance, thing or person that temporarily filled that void for you, stop and look straight to the great I am and he will tell you my child, I am enough. And because I am enough, you are enough. You are going to be okay. Hold on to me and I will fill that void for you, just like I did in the woman in the well.

Speaker 1:

Ladies, god is sending you an invitation when the challenges come. An invitation when the challenges come, lean onto him, choose him. He won't leave you nor forsake you. The same Holy Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead lives in you. The Holy Spirit guides you, advocates for you and will help you in the times of trouble. Ladies, we serve an almighty God who will move heaven and earth for us. He wants you to invite him into every aspect of your lives and every journey of your lives. He wants you to invite him and with Jesus we find strength and reassurance. And when we realize the great I am is with us and in us, we know that we are enough.

Speaker 1:

Ladies, let's stop saying I am enough, like the world does. Let's start saying I am enough, I am is enough, and because the great I am is enough. I am enough, because when we solely say I am enough without god, we're saying that we can do it on our own and it is limiting us. Instead, let's add god into the equation. And when we add God to the equation, we are limitless, because he is the God of the impossible. With him, all things are possible.

Speaker 1:

Whether you are a corporate baddie, a great mother or a baddie heading into the classroom, take God with you. He will carry you further than you can ever imagine. Let me remind you you are enough. You are enough to be loved. You are enough to accomplish the mission. You are enough because he is enough, because Jesus Christ is enough. He is all that you need. He will provide for you, he will love you, he will seek you. He alone is enough. Christ alone is enough. Ladies, it's been a pleasure having you today.

Speaker 1:

Before we go, let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for who you are, the great I am. Thank you for the plans that you have for us, the plans to prosper us, not to harm us. The plans to give us hopes and a future, to strengthen our minds, bodies and souls for the work you have called us to do. Lord Jesus, increase your grace in our lives. Let no doubt, shame or negativity stop the promise you have for us. Remind us in the moments of weakness that you are a sustainer, because you are enough. We are enough, and when the world asks, how did we did it, the answer will always be God did. Thank you, jesus, for your sacrifice, thank you for your word, thank you for your living spirit. In us. We glorify your name and we pray in this. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. We all say amen, ladies, you have a blessed day and you take god with you and he will take you far I'm searching for.
