The Power of the Blood Jesus.

Elene Badeau Season 1 Episode 5

The story of the adulterous woman in John 8 powerfully demonstrates that Jesus came not to condemn but to save. This profound interaction reveals Jesus's divine character when he challenges the accusers that only those without sin should cast stones, showing both his perfect sinlessness and his incredible mercy.

• John 3:16-17 explains why Jesus didn't condemn the woman – because God sent him to save, not to judge
• We often limit the power of Christ's blood by believing certain sins are too great for forgiveness
• All sins carry the same weight in God's eyes because all sin separates us from God
• The Pharisees compared their sins to the woman's, wrongly believing some sins are worse than others
• Denying yourself forgiveness is essentially denying what Jesus accomplished on the cross
• When we focus more on our sins than on our Savior, we miss experiencing true freedom
• The blood of Jesus cleanses, heals, redeems, restores, and refines us completely
• Stop focusing on the sin and focus on the Savior who can save you from those sins

Ready to experience true freedom? Let go of shame, repent, and surrender to Christ. Don't miss out on God's promises because you're fixated on past sins. Take God with you and He will take you far.

Speaker 1:

Hello, ladies, hope all is well. I've been reading the Old Testaments right, I got done and now I'm in the New Testaments. I love starting with John, because John tells me who Jesus Christ is, his character, his love. It always points to him and I love it. This is where base I got the I Am series that I'm doing on the podcast Affirmation 12 Truths About Me. It's from John, because John tells you who Jesus Christ is.

Speaker 1:

And today I want to break down John 8, about the adulterous woman and how Jesus Christ is so forgiving and so loving. So let's get started. In the story of the adulterous woman, she gets caught in the act of sleeping with another man. Pause, I want to know how did you catch her in the act if you weren't watching? Okay, anyway, she gets caught in the act and as they're pressing Jesus to give them an answer of whether they should stone her because by the law of Moses she should be stoned, jesus is right here writing down on the dust, and then they keep saying they want to answer. So Jesus stepped up and said okay, if any of you guys have not sinned, you can cast a stone, one by one. They left, starting with the oldest, until none of them was there but Jesus. Pause on this part. I love how this verse shows. This part shows the divinity of Jesus, that he came fully man and fully God and he still did not sin. It shows that he was the true Messiah. He came on this earth so that he can save.

Speaker 1:

My focus point on this story is when he says, right here then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you? No, lord, he said. And Jesus said neither do I Go and sin no more. This is where the Holy Spirit spoke to me. He said do you know why? He said that? And I was thinking and the Holy Spirit just dropped it on me. He said John 3, 16 says, for God so loved the world that he gave his forgotten son that whoever believe in him should not perish but have eternal life. Right, I said, yeah, lord, but what about 17? What does 17 say? I go to. 17 says God sent his son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. And then the Lord said, right here, back to chapter eight, he says Jesus stood up again to the woman when are your accusers. Didn't even one of them condemn you. No, lord, she said. And Jesus said neither do I go and sin no more. Jesus did not come to this world to condemn us, judge us. Jesus came to this world to save us. He didn't come to judge the woman. He came to save her from her sins. And I wonder if this woman forgave herself for her sins.

Speaker 1:

Often we carry the weight of the sin on our shoulders, even though it's not even our job, acting as though the blood is less than the sin. The blood of Jesus is way much powerful than the sins that you have committed, whatever sin that is. Sometimes we cannot fathom that Jesus Christ, god, the creator of the universe, the gracious Lord, can forgive us for the particular sin that we have done, whether it is you cheating on your wife or your husband, or you being addicted to porn, whatever particular sin that is weighing on you. Why don't you think the blood of Jesus is much powerful than that particular sin? And then the Holy Spirit said it's because you limit the blood of Jesus. You put Jesus in a box, thinking that he cannot forgive you for any particular sin. It is. And then this is when it got spicy.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes, like the Pharisees. We compare our sins to each other, thinking that one sin is greater than the other. No, like I said in my other video of I Am Forgiven in God's eyes, all sin are the same because it separates you from God. Not only that, all sin is the same because the weight of sin is death. If you continue doing the sin over and over again, you do not repent. Your consequence is death, which is hell. But here's the Pharisees trying to say that their sins is not as bad as her sins, because she's right here sleeping with another man, not knowing that in God's eyes, all of it's the same. So that's why he said OK, if you have not sinned, you can cast a stone. But he walked away. He didn't name a particular sin. If you haven't sinned, cast a stone. And none of them cast a stone, because all of them sinned. No sin is greater than the other.

Speaker 1:

Some of you guys are comparing each other's sins, saying well, I just slept with a man while he murdered somebody. I just stole some money from my mom's pocket, from my mom's pocketbook, but he raped somebody. I'm telling you right now and this is where the Holy Spirit checked me on the Holy Spirit said even if that man raped a little girl, if he came to me, accepted me as his Lord and Savior and repent of his sins and, like in society, people can't fathom that Jesus Christ, the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, can forgive a rapist, a molester, a murderer, somebody that robbed a bank. Society cannot comprehend how powerful the blood of Jesus Christ is. Because you limit the blood in your mind, you think this sin is not as great as that sin. Well, that's not how the blood of Jesus works and that's not how he works. We are all the ones that accepted him as his Lord and savior. All are his children, no matter what sin you have done. We cannot pick and choose who God can save. We cannot pick and choose who God wants in his kingdom.

Speaker 1:

It's point blank and sample John 3, verse 16. If you believed that he came to die for your sins, as your Lord and savior, for your transgressions, you will be saved. He gives you choice and he provides that freedom for you. Stop allowing the sin to hold you in a chokehold because you think it's greater than the blood. It does not work like that. The blood is so powerful. The blood does amazing things. Stop thinking that you cannot be saved because of your particular sin.

Speaker 1:

And then it comes with pride, also Because you. All you're thinking about is I did this, I did that, I did that, I did that. You are putting your actions of what you did because you missed the mark. You have a sinful nature. That is what you have. It is what it is. When Adam and Eve did what they did, we became born of sin. But then Jesus Christ comes and dies on the cross for our sins and then was raised up from the grave and he lives today so that we can be cleansed and made new once we go to him and repent and ask for forgiveness. That's it.

Speaker 1:

You overcomplicate the process of forgiveness. That's holding you and shackles that. You can't see the freedom in front of you. Then the Holy Spirit said you denying yourself of self-forgiveness is denying what Jesus Christ did on the cross. You're so focused on the sin you can't see what's in front of you Jesus Christ, with his arms wide open, ready for you to run into his arms as he accepts you as his daughter, as his son. If you let go of the past and clinch onto Jesus Christ and hold onto who he is, the freedom is there. So the son sets free, you're free. Indeed, the son of Jesus sets you free.

Speaker 1:

Once you release that sin, there is a time when you need to realize that you can't keep holding onto the sin. You can't keep holding onto it like it's part of your skin. You are made new. You are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. You are healed by the blood of Jesus Christ. By his stripes, we are healed. You are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. You are restored by the blood of Jesus Christ. You are refined by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:

I can go on and on how the power of Jesus Christ has the power to do the unthinkable things. If you stop limiting Jesus in your life, you will see the extraordinary things that he can do. And that was the problem of the Pharisees here. They always limited Jesus and thought he was like them. Jesus is nothing like us. Jesus never sinned. Jesus was God in the flesh while he was on this earth. You can't compare yourself to him. There is nothing like him, nor there will be anything like him. He's the Lord of Lords, kings of Kings, the Almighty One, the God of heaven, armies, and that same God sacrificed his son for you. I don't know what love is greater than that.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to say this you need to let go and let God start working on you so you can stop drenching yourself and that shame and guilt. Stop doing it. Repent first, go to God and ask for forgiveness, because the blood is there waiting for you. So the blood can cleanse you and make you new and you will feel light. It's time to let go and surrender to Christ. Don't allow yourself to miss on the freedom, to miss on the promises of God because you are so fixed on the sin. Stop focusing on the sin and focus on the Savior, who can save you from those sins. Take God with you and he will take you far.
