Craig Williams is an author, a rural schools communications specialist, an education advocate, and the publisher of Herrin Schools’ Stories and Stripes magazine produced through Journey12.com. Craig is the host for the Herrin Unit 4 Schools Podcast, titled, “Stories and Stripes,” and he’ll sit down periodically with key players and game-changers from within the Herrin School Community and talk about the things that matter to all of us, but especially to the outcomes of our kids. Herrin 4 is a remarkable school community and, as we’ve spoken to many in the community, one thing is eminently clear, you have one another’s back. Everyone in this community seems to be a part of that. And just as you’re an important part of this school community, we also want to invite you to be an engaged, important part of this Podcast, so, if you’ve got an idea or suggestion, let’s talk. Stories and Stripes
A Sit-Down with Nathaniel Wilson, Superintendent of Herrin 4
Welcome to the inaugural episode of Stories and Stripes, the podcast companion to Herrin Unit 4 Schools’ quarterly magazine of the same name, where we celebrate the positive happenings in our schools and talk about how the Herrin 4 team is creating opportunities for our young people.
Today, I have the privilege of speaking with Nathaniel Wilson, Superintendent of Herrin Unit 4 Schools. In this episode, we’ll dive into the dynamic ways Herrin Schools are connecting with families, fostering student success, and building bridges between the district and the broader community. From early childhood programs to career pathways and a visionary Full-Service Community Schools grant, Nathaniel shares insights that illuminate the profound impact of Herrin Schools on students and residents alike.
Herrin is much more than just a district; more than its buildings—it's a vibrant hub of opportunity, fueled by dedicated educators, forward-thinking leadership, and the steadfast support of the community. Whether you're a parent, an alumnus, or simply a member of the Herrin community, this episode offers a closer look at what makes Herrin Schools a cornerstone of pride and progress in Southern Illinois.
